Alien Rogue

Rate this book
I’m the only person who can save humanity—but I’ll have to seduce an alien warlord to do it.

When the Skoropi abducted me, I thought things couldn’t get worse. Then I realized they intend on attacking my planet and killing my people.

Now, I’m captive to an alien warlord on his living ship, and the only way I can convince him to help humanity is by letting him think I’m his. Zandro says he’s doing all this to keep me safe, but I don’t care if I’m safe when Earth is at risk.

But I’m starting to think I wouldn’t mind letting him claim me.

I know the things Zandro could do to me—wants to do to me, with his claws, his forked and pierced tongue, and his dexterous tail. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad belonging to this alien rogue, if my people’s survival didn’t hang in the balance.

I’m going to save Earth. Zandro will help me.

And if he does, I’ll be his queen.

ALIEN ROGUE is a steamy alien romance featuring a well-equipped alien, a headstrong human heroine, and a vibrant intergalactic setting. You can expect high steam, angst, and a hard-won enemies to lovers arc from this epic sci-fi romance.

Another amazing fantastical world for us to explore!!

I am loving this Voyager space odyssey that Chloe Parker is taking us on. This is the first book in the Cosmic Mates series which is the second set of three novels in this saga. She has delivered us an amazing new world of five planets ruled by five devine houses, a new species hellbent on conquering the universe, and living fish spaceships that swim through space. Just like the first book in her Cosmic Bonds series I was blown away.

Bekah is working on Azoth as a biology intern in the food greenhouses. One night she sees a light on in the greenhouse and she goes to investigate, hoping it's not her pushy coworker that's been trying to get her alone. What she finds instead is an alien unlike any she's ever seen and he definitely isn't Lyran, with his horns, barbed agile tail, and glowing purple eyes.

Zandro has been sent, by his warlord uncle, as a spy/scout to see what the planets that broadcast the beacon have to offer. Zandro hates his uncle and his plan to take over Earth, Lyra, and Azoth to strip them of their resources and people until nothing is left. Rooting around taking samples of the plants he comes face to face with his Ekirah. His divine balance. So he kidnaps her, to save her from the destruction and death that is coming.

Needless to say, Bekah was not a happy camper!!

This was definitely an enemies to lovers tale. With the future uncertain, both Bekah and Zandro fight the pull between them. The attraction and passion between them sizzles as they orbit each other. As much as they try, they struggle to keep their hands (and tail) off of each other. As they grow closer together, it seems impossible that both of them will make it through this oncoming war alive.

I really enjoyed the crazy and original world building. The slow burn between Bekah and Zondro turned into red hot steam. But their love story and their fight to survive brought me to tears. This was so good and I can't wait for the next story in the series to see who wins this war.

Even though this was an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A fantastically imaginative and vivid sci-fi adventure!

I'm completely smitten by the worlds Chloe Parker creates. Her books are a reading experience because of her imagination, originality, and vivid imagery. Alien Rogue isn't just a book to read; it's a book to experience.

Zandro, our alien hero, has had a horrific life. A life filled with death and pain. He now travels through space collecting biological samples from other planets. Bekah is our human female biologist, currently completing an internship on Azoth where she loves researching the alien botanicals. The two are about to come face to face and their world is about to drastically change.

Zandro and Bekah are about to embark on a journey that will not only change their lives, but potentially the lives of millions. But first, they must overcome language barriers and misperceptions, and Jaya is there to guide them... Jaya completely intrigued me... Jaya adds a whole new level of imagination to the story.

There's so much in this book that I don't want to give anything away and ruin the experience... Just keep this in mind... YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK IF YOU LIKE SCI-FI ROMANCE!

This book was exquisitely written, clever, and imaginative. Ms. Parker writes in a way that draws you in and then immerses you in a different world. A world you can see, smell, and almost touch. Ms. Parker's imagination and unique storylines never cease to amaze me.

Alien Rogue is a wonderfully, steamy, emotional, and wild ride through space and I am all in for this series! I can’t wait for more! This book gets all my recommendations and I will definitely continue to read this series!

Did Not Finish

I tried, but I could not make myself finish this one. Stopped at 56%. Problem 1 was that I didn't like and / or care about the characters. They seemed superficial and stupid too many times for me to ignore. Problem 2 was the large amount of things in the world that did not make any sense. I'm not talking about the fictional things that don't make sense, although there were too many of those. I'm talking about the plot not making sense. There was pretty much nothing here I was interested in reading more of and every 10 pages or so just added another thing to the list of things that bothered me.

*****Spoiler Alert*****
This Book Includes*Only read 56%
Violence. Reference to murder / execution of hero's family including children, punches / fighting, murder by tail barb, references to likely war coming, implied threat of rape to female by various others (other crew, bad guy, etc...), character confined to quarters.
Sex. Veiled references to prior sexual assault of female, brief discussion that characters are not bartering sex, MF sex with anal component, some hand pinning, virgin male?, pierced tongue, cock with extras (ridge on top & tickler appendage)

Alien race description. Light blue flesh with silver scales more dense in some areas (shoulders) than others (stomach), black hair, pointed black horns that move?, dexterous tail that ends in sharp needle-like tip capable of injecting various substances (killing or sedating), ridges / frill along neck & down spine, spinning eyes, areas glow different colors with emotions (tail, frills, & eyes), cock with ridge along top and tickler appendage underneath, forked tongue with piercing in middle.

Things That Bothered Me
Heroine.
The first time we meet the heroine I got the impression she was a) stupid or b) a doormat. She finds an interesting specimen and instead of saying nothing & taking it to her boss she tells the asshole that has been harassing her and lets him take the credit. Why? The asshole keeps asking her out, and she makes up things instead of saying no or reporting him. Why? Half or more of everything this heroine did had me throwing up my hands. She gets a translator then fails to use it half the time. She gets embarrassed when the hero tells the others of their argument. They are talking about the genocide of her own & another entire race. That's devastating not embarrassing. She talks him into taking on the man that slaughtered his entire family, then basically says 'huh I guess I am asking a lot of him'. Only death & torture, which should've been obvious. She doesn't say anything the first time the hero says he'll come back for her after the war - which will kill and enslave her race. I'm sorry, is she really going to want to see him after he's complicit in that?

Plot Issues.
The hero and the last of his house are already away where the bad guy can't touch them, so why are they going back when ordered? If the leverage the bad guy has over him is the well-being of his people, then shouldn't he run while he still has his people safe with him? If that's his main concern why go where they can all easily be killed?
What exactly can the hero and so few other people do to stop a war? The heroine talks almost from the beginning like he can just snap his fingers and make it stop, which is directly opposite of everything the book has said so far. So, her saying that just kind of makes her look stupid, again.
How are people supposed to follow the hero, as I'm assuming they must against the bad guy, if he can't get his own crew to follow & respect him? A few spies who don't are fine. However, it appears that no one outside of his circle respects him.

World Issues
This whole attacking worlds for their oxygen and then razing them to the ground makes no sense. If you destroy a resource, then there won't be more of it. If you manage it properly, like a fishery or a forest, then you could have the resource for centuries theoretically even longer. This is not an advanced concept. Any advanced species in need of resources would be idiots to destroy said resource. Also, aren't females also a resource they could use? So why would they kill them? If they want to raze the planets to feed their living ships, then what the heck are the ships supposed to eat after those planets are gone? Won't they just die?
A living space ship that eats oxygen - something that doesn't exist in space. Yeah having trouble with that. Also it is unclear whether the ship is eating oxygen or the flora of a planet. Since the ship is basically flora, shouldn't it produce it's own oxygen? Shouldn't it eat sunlight, water, & CO2 and produce oxygen? Yeah, its fiction, but you have to give me some reason that this makes some kind of sense. I don't care if you make the reason as simple as 'it's magic'. Also if the ship eats oxygen and the people need oxygen - well then those people should be highly motivated to feed the ship or would probably suffocate to death.

This is the first full length book I’ve read by Chloe Parker. I’m used to getting her spicy stories in anthologies and I always love them. This book was no different.

Our main characters, Bekah and Zandro, start out as enemies but slowly become so much more. I enjoyed the organic feel to their relationship. It didn’t appear forced and it grew throughout the book. Their banter was hilarious, their intimate scene were super spicy and their love and devotion to one another was palpable. Chloe did an amazing job with the growth of these characters. Each of them having their tragic backstories that made things a little more interesting. They aren’t a couple I will soon forget.

I loved the idea of Jaya. A sentient ship that looks like a cross between a whale, an insect and a plant. Everything about her captured my heart and I hope to read more about the Zephtan in the future.

From the beginning I was hooked. The beautiful imagery and attention to detail kept me me engrossed in this vivid story. The way Chloe painted these worlds and the space around them was phenomenal. I’m so excited for the next book in the series.

This book was an amazing read! I didn't know Chloe Parker before but I'm definitely going to pick up ALL her books now. I loved every second of this story and simply couldn't put it down for a moment. In fact, I stayed up way too late reading this book but did I regret it in the morning? Not one bit.

There's so much fantastical world-building, amazing character growth and depth, action packed story line, and the steamy bits were off the charts. Can't wait for more.

Bekah (h) is a human biologist working in a greenhouse on Azoth when she's abducted by an alien, Zandro (H), stealing plant specimens. She finds herself an unwilling passenger on his organic spaceship, Jaya, which immediately takes a liking to Bekah and will help her several times in the novel. Zandro isn't sure at first why he felt compelled to kidnap Bekah, though he had dreamed of her even before they met, and he feels compelled to be with her. AS the story progress, more of Zandro's (and his people's) past comes out - what they've suffered and how they are compelled to follow his cruel uncle, Dalphox. Bekah is horrified to learn that Dalphox intends to invade Azoth and Earth in his quest for expanding his empire. She will have to work to convince Zandro that he is strong enough to lead a rebellion against Dalphox, even as their emotional and sexual relationship takes things to new levels. The world building action and adventure in this story is amazing. Great hot and steamy passion between Bekah and Zandro (special peen and tail included). Nice to see characters from Cosmic Bonds series - you don’t have to have read these, but it definitely gives you a better understanding of where these characters are coming from. This is a fantastic start to the Cosmic Mates series!

This was a fab series opener and quite the adventure of a read. Filled with emotions, action, danger, edge of your seat suspense and, yep, steamy romance, it was a real page turner for me. Zandro and Bekah may not have started off on the same page, but they sure had chemistry from the get-go. With the help of the most fascinating ship, Jaya, they learn to communicate better and their romance blooms from there. However, his uncle is beyond a baddie and needs to be taken out before millions pay the price. I found this a totally engaging read and can't wait to dive into the next book :D

Personally felt it could have better execution, but I will read more by this author!

Sum:Bekah had a scare in college that pushed her to leave earth and do an internship on Azoth, a planet that many humans have found life on alongside the Lyra, an alien species that is their first contact. She works as a biologist intern in the greenhouses and unfortunately doesn’t have the most exciting life. Aside from working she spends her time alone reading and attempting to avoid her colleagues advances. One night there’s a light on in the closed greenhouse, one that she decides to explore. She finds the other intern, creepy Pete who is drunk and attempts to force her to go with him. They are both jumped by a massive alien with horns and a tail, one neither have ever seen before. When Bekah wakes up she is being taken aboard a giant plant looking whale - freaked out and overwhelmed, what’s a girl to do?

Ok…while this book had an amazing premise, I think the author just tried to do too much and it got muddled and backwards in a few parts for me.

There were minor errors, to the point I could over look them, but I felt we were given some ideas that we didn’t get enough info on or weren’t completed and that’s where my first issues began. I will list these below, and say MILD SPOILERS:

1. Apparently Zandro dreamed about Bekah way before they met, yet we never dig into this, he doesn’t tell her (that I ever saw), nor do we get a true explanation of why.

2. Bekah begins having dreams after she is on board the ship, some of an alter, the very one Jaya (the ship) takes her too. This is also not explained, nor do we ever get that alter scene.

3. Most of the spice is from dreams. So there’s that.

4. While I do like the forward thinking of either intersex or transgender (I’m not exactly sure where we were going) I would have liked it slightly better explained, and to choose something so interesting to discuss as a forefront idea in this book - yet you made these characters assault victims and gave us a main character that wasn’t entirely on board with the idea of changeable genders.

5. In fact, while Bekah “heard” the crew fucking at random times on the ship, we are to assume the crew was all male from what we’ve gathered, there only seemed to be either male/female couples or ones that have achieved Divine Symmetry . It almost felt like the few queer encounters were all forceable ones - or genders were forced for the same rape reason.

6. I agree with another commenter on ONE aspect - when you knew you were going to be forced back to your evil uncle you had more time to prepare a different plan especially with Bekah now in mind, why on fuck did you start heading closer to him? On top of that - the time allotments don’t make sense. We get told “a few days from now” but they only had 6 and used 8 but we still had more time???

7. The heroine, Bekah, who isn’t stupid but a decently smart biologist, for some reason can’t wrap her head around the gender thing which is odd because even on earth we have fish and insects that do this. So that’s odd. Secondly she comes across as dumb and a bit of a doormat, Zandro even treats her likes she is a moron for a good minute but he’s our hero? Nah fam.

There are probably other things I didn’t like but not enough to still remember days after reading, aside from it took me almost three days to get through. While the world building seemed beautiful and I truly loved the ship Jaya, I felt majority of the book was too much excess.

Although as I said, I will try another book of hers to determine if it was that one book or if it’s a writing style.

Overall? 3.7 🌟s
Plot? 3 💭s
Spice? 2 🌶s
Char Dev? 2 for Zandro 👽 and 1 for Bekah 👩
Fave Char? Jaya 🌿🐳🛸
Cheating? No, but there is consensual “three-some” one time
HEA? Undecided
Series? Stand-alone as far as I know, but light cliffhanger?
Tropes? stolen, fated mates, alien
Triggers? Yes, 🚩🚩🚩this book contains the following: violence, murder, blood, death, language, forced gender conformity, forced gender, sexual assault, rape, torture, kidnapping, and trauma.

*fans self* Whew! I was offered to read this as an ARC, and I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I accepted the offer, especially since this is the first book I've read by this author. But holy smokes, I think this is one of the HOTTEST (and well written) alien romances I've read this year.

I absolutely adored the h. Both the h and H were guarded and fought fate's pull due to past traumas they had experienced (not to mention the slight detail of the H originally kidnapping the h). Please be aware of triggers- there are mentions of rape/SA (nothing graphic), war trauma, thoughts of suicide, claustrophobia, and an overlying theme of non-binary gender fluidity (as well as mentions of forced gender assignment).

This book features smoking hot aliens with horns, tails, scales, and magi-peens ( textured bristles, an anal 'tickler' nub, a ridge bump for clitoral simulation) made for pleasure. The book also features some dirty tail action and the hottest, panty-wetting exhibitionist menage scene I've ever encountered. (I honestly could have used more scenes featuring the H and h with Taraven- whew!) I only wish there was further tempting scenes featuring the hinted at sexual interactions between the ship crew. It was such a tease to have it mentioned, and not go anywhere! (Honestly, I'd love to see a future book in this world explore the gender fluidity of an alien pair as their relationship grows as they experience their own divine match... or divine harem (or RH!).. a gal can dream, right?)

I adored Jaya and the other sentient plant whales. I've read a book or two with 'living ships' before, but these were by far the most beautifully done. I wish the whole Earth/Azoth, humans/Lyrans connection were better explained. However, that's reader error on my end. This book is off-shoot from the Cosmic Bonds Series.

This is a very well written book. The storyline and world building are amazing and have vivid details of the aliens, their ship and their world. It’s an exciting and intense storyline and the characters are awesome. There’s an abduction, action, danger, passion, steamy scenes and much more in this splendid story and I highly recommend reading it. It will have you hooked from the start like I was.

Zandro is the only surviving member of the Fifth house. He left the planet and has been on his living ship Jaya with his crew since then. He dreams of a female, a stranger and while on a planet acquiring plants for Jaya he finds her, Bekah. Bekah is studying biology on Azoth, in reality she’s just a glorified gardener. She’s trying to avoid one of the interns when she sees a light on in the greenhouse, which is strange as there should be no one there. She investigates and ends up being abducted by an alien, Zandro. She’s taken onto his ship and they communicate via a translator. Things are very tense between them and Bekah is kept in Zandro’s quarters and is only allowed to roam the ship when the majority of the crew are asleep. When Jaya sets down on a garden planet to feed and while the crew search for oxygen rich plants, Bekah makes an escape. Unfortunately Zandro catches her, Bekah tells him she’s not his pet and if she comes back she wants her own room and to be taken home. Although Zandro agrees to the room he can’t take her home. His uncle and the being responsible for his house’ demise is planning an invasion of Azoth and Earth, Zandro wants to keep her safe with him. Bekah soon finds out about the coming invasion and realises she is the only human that can stop it. She knows that Zandro wants to claim her as his, she knows exactly what he wants to do to her and she realises being claimed by him wouldn’t be so bad. Her people are in danger and they don’t even know it, she’s going to save them and Zandro is going to help her. Together they can accomplish anything, together they can save more than just Earth and when they do Bekah will become his queen.

🔥 “If you like what I do with my mind, you should see what I can do with my body.”
~~~
Bekah is a biologist. She’s one smart, quiet and strong-willed woman. But underneath her timid nature hides a defiant and stubborn woman who refuses to be controlled or told what to do. Even more, I loved her determination to do everything in her power to prevent a future war. Bekah is definitely a force to be reckoned with and I loved her very much!
Zandro is one of the last remaining members of House Zanpi. He’s led a life full of pain, suffering, loss and death. But, despite everything he’s been through, he’s one absolutely magnificent male - strong, confident, honorable, dangerous, possessive and fiercely protective. I adored every single thing about that Skoropi warrior.
I absolutely adored the development of Bekah and Zandro’s relationship. It took some time for them to trust each other, to overcome the language and cultural barriers and to make peace with their pasts. But from the very first moment they met, their chemistry was palpable. I really loved how much both Zandro and Bekah grew throughout the story. Their love and devotion for one another was undeniable and they were an absolutely perfect match. Even more, the spicy scenes were absolute perfection. Bekah and Zandro were amazing and passionate together, but when Taraven was added into the mix, well, the hotness reached blazing hot, panty-melting levels.
In addition, the worldbuilding was absolutely phenomenal! I loved the zephtan and Jaya is an amazing creature full of life, colors and beauty, and she’s quite the matchmaker if you ask me. Even more, I was truly fascinated with the Skoropi and their unique biology, society norms and culture. And the unique storyline, the vivid details and the suspense kept me glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, the story is a spectacular beginning of the series. It’s filled with fast-paced action, danger, adventure, suspense, twists, drama, blazing hot romance and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and loved every single page of it!
Alien Rogue has been a wild ride. I enjoyed jumping in to Bekah's life, as an interning biologist, on an alien planet. It goes from a seemingly "advanced" human experience, since she's living and working on an alien planet to an insane experience being taken by an unknown alien species.
Waking up on a ship, she's overwhelmed by communication difficulties, fear, and uncertainty, especially when inspecting the vessel itself. Coming to and realizing Zandro, the alien who kidnapped her from the greenhouse, is not going to let her go, she starts to bargain, learn, and network her way around, in attempts to get back to her home, or even Earth.
Zandro, one of the remaining Zanpians and heir to the Zanpian throne, couldn't leave Bekah, but he also has to keep his distance to protect her. Surrounded by a few close cohorts, and possibly even more spies, he can't allow anyone to find out about her, especially Dalphox, his horrific uncle and warlord trying to extinguish the remaining Fifth House supporters.
Zandro and Bekah fight to make decisions, while falling for each other and wondering if it's ekirah, soul mates, destined balance. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, full of passion, conflict, and interesting world building. It kept my attention captivated and I was happy to find out there are more books on the way.
I was given an advanced reader copy in return for an honest review. The author did not purchase my review or persuade me in any way. These thoughts and words are my own.
I truly enjoyed this book, for the most part. The only thing that took away from it being a five star is the middle couldn't keep my attention. Any potential drama is quickly doused and the time they spend on Jaya gets a little tedious. I was ready for something to happen. Then finally they end up back on a planet (don't want to leave spoilers) and things went down quickly, almost too fast. The middle was uneventful at times and drawn out and then when we get to the meaty bits at the end it was jarringly fast and then BOOM over. I wanted more of the end to drag and less of the middle. I think the author was trying so hard to give them time together to bond that it ended up being almost too much.
Also, and I totally understand this is personal preference, but things were left so empty with Taraven. I mean, we get a really nice, really hot scene where I am thinking they are going to all three turn into a thing and then NOTHING. I don't like that he was introduced into their dynamic if not to stay. Even worse, I picture him possibly having his own book and having a new love interest and my entire being says NO. Eh. I don't like it. I don't like that there wasn't some kind of conclusion to that. I am not one to really enjoy others being invited into a sexual dynamic between MC's without them staying, or having some kind of closure. I get the aliens see nudity and sex different than we do, but it just left things feeling very incomplete.
Ya'll know I'm always hopping on anything Chloe, idk if I need to say it anymore. This one was a hard one to get through because our bbys were just so SAD. Our boi was a sensitive one and honestly melted my heart through and through with every chapter.
The world building, ugh ya'll I'm a sucker for it. It was so good, and just (in my brain) builds upon all the other worlds Chloe has introduced us to. There was so many times the relatablity had me stepping back for a second being being like damn this really hits, I need a minute.
The SPICE ugh bless, we love Chloe lmfaao we do. I loved the "new anatomy" learnings your body trope more than ever in this one and there's just something about a man who is so confident in his abilities he'll let another man try and BOY was I FEELING a TYPE of WAAAAY-unf, bless.
Bekah is a lovely heroine. You somehow can just see her as someone that you would have as a friend. At the beginning she is working on her internship with alien botanicals, minding her own business in the greenhouse when next thing she knows she is being abducted! There is, of course, far more to all this than meets the eye. The ship is finds herself on for one and its captain for another. Zandro, well he's not quite sure how he ended up with the specimen he was after along with a woman as well. That bit was very much unplanned and yet there no way that he could leave her behind. He could say it was because he didn't want to get caught but in truth that has nothing to do with it at all. He felt a connection, something he has no idead how to deal with. He is running from a world of pain and he's not really living, this sudden pull to someone is a shock. The more Bekah learns about Zandro, the more she starts to feel for him. What will happen though when it seems that the very thing Zandro has been avoiding is heading straight for everything that Bekah knows and loves? If Zandro will not help her, how can there ever be a future for them?
This was a really great book and it had all the elements that I love in a Sci-fi story, abduction, adventure, drama, suspense, action, twists and turns, hilarious banter, hot and spicy scenes are just a few things that make this book a must read. Bekah is a biologist doing an internship on Azoth until she is abducted by a hot and sexy Skoropi warrior named Zandro. Zandro is a Skoropi warrior warlord that’s one of the last of his line of the house of Zanpi who has a cruel uncle Dalphox that he is following and along the way he collects and steals biological samples and when he dreams of a feisty human female before he abducts her from Azoth and there attraction to each other is instant but it takes awhile for them to come together as they learn what each other lives have been like in the past so they can understand the languages and what is going on around them now and to save earth and all it’s people a long the way. I loved the spaceship and Jaya as well. Can they saves both these planets from his evil uncle Dalphox or not and can they have a future together when it’s all over.
Alien Rogue . . .
The book starts out with a very bleak picture of Zandro’s life so far where the cruel Dalphox has wiped out his family except for Zandro who is doing his duty collecting samples from planets.
Bekah is a human biologist on Azoth, working in a greenhouse as she is captured by Zandro who is after the plant specimens. He isn’t sure why he took her with him, but he felt drawn to her. She is taken board his organic spaceship, Jaya, and the ship likes Bekah.
Bekah finds out that Dalphox has plans to attack both Azoth and Earth as part of his conquest to build an empire. Can she convince Zandro that he can fight against Dalphox and prevent this? Will Bekah and Zandro become mates?
This is a kind of strange story for me. There is too much going on and much of it doesn’t make sense. Jaya was an interesting addition simply because of the unique description of what it is (a living spaceship) and what it eats and even that it liked Bekah. I will probably give Book 2 a try, but I’m not sure if I will continue beyond that.
I think one of Chloe Parker's strengths is her talent for evoking emotions in her stories and this one is so different! From the beginning you feel the frustration, confusion, anger, hope, dedication, and finally the steadfast love that her main characters keep within them. Bekah might have started out as a pushover on Azoth, but by the time she's kidnapped by Zandar she definitely finds her inner strength to fight him! The chemistry is electric from the beginning, just in maybe not the ways they end up with in the end *wink* I also appreciated that Parker made Zandar "human" in his personality where he was fighting his own doubts and demons. It was a nice change. I really thought this story was so fun as they flew all over..and man, did they fly. Can I just take a moment to talk about Zandars "ship"?! I love Jaya and her personality! Forget my car, I want a zephtan! To sum it all up: go read this book, you won't regret it!
This is the first of Chloe Parker's books that I have read but it will not be my last. This story is action packed, steamy and quite a page turner. I did not want to put it down to sleep. I loved the idea of Jaya the space whale as the ship in space. An organic ship was quite interesting. The story is about a human, Bekah, living on another planet doing work in a greenhouse when an alien, Zandro, kidnaps her. He feels pulled towards her and doesn't know why. He puts her down on another planet that is friendly with everyone but she does not stay and sneaks back onboard the ship. Zandro and Bekah fall in love and decide to start a rebellion against his last warlord. Zandro gets captured and Bekah saves him and they find allies in their war. I love books about aliens and humans falling in love and the adventures they get into. This book hits all the marks.
I received this book as an Arc and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This first book in a new series, Cosmic Mates, but reads like a standalone book. Fast paced, this will grab you from page one and since these books are available on Kindle Unlimited, you can read them for free. Zandro is one of the last members of House Zanpi. He’s led a life full of pain and loss, but, regardless of all the bad that has happened, he’s strong, confident, honorable, protective Skoropi warlord. Bekah, a biologist that is abducted by Zandro, who believes Bekah is his mate. When she wakes up in a strange place, on a ship, unable to understand or communicate to anyone, she is afraid, but not willing to show it. As soon as they are able to communicate, Zandro and Beech find besides their intense chemistry, they have a common foe that needs to be stopped. The book is well paced, sizzling, action packed, steamy, and so much more.
This is a rich, beautiful invitation into an unjust and unique alien world filled with war, longing and emotional discovery. There are great moments of learning between the 2 MCs about their species including gender, finding balance/spiritual harmony and understanding one another in order to coexist and grow. It is definitely a slow burn with both sides learning to trust one another and figure out what it means to be together.
This book includes: scales & tails, sentient ships, slow burns, high heat, language barriers, a grumpy hero & a strong willed heroine
CW for mentions of past SA, war trauma, claustrophobia, suicidal idestion, discussions of forced gender assignment
I don’t read many alien romances, but when I do Chloe Parker’s books are at the top of the list.
Zandro has no idea why he took the little human but for some inexplicable reason she calls to him.
When an alien kidnaps her after saving her from a creepy coworker, Bekah’s ready to kick some a**.
I love how their relationship progresses from enemies to lovers into something more. Their banter and the steam is out of this world.
The idea of Jaya, was fantastic and I loved the imagery Chloe Parker used while writing. The story, the characters, everything took sci-fi romance to a new level.
If you love tails, scales, enemies to lovers, and spicy scenes that’ll make you 🥵 then Alien Rogue is right up your alley.
And yet another hit for me by Chloe Parker! I’ve been reading her books for a little while now and damn, I just devour them!
Alien Rogue was a great read. The chemistry between Zandro and Bekah was hot and it was easy to get wrapped up in this very steamy enemies-to-lovers tale. One thing I’ve always appreciated about Parker’s books is that she doesn’t depend on the relationship to carry the plot. The conflict between the different species laces through several of her novels and I love how each book could be standalone, but they are still connected. The world she creates with the Skoropi, Lyran, humans, and others is really well crafted and I look forward to more!
Thank you Booksprout and Chloe Parker for my copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I know I'm going to be in the minority here when I say I didn't like the living ship. I personally preferer a sentient AI or and ship with an AI that has a few quarks. Living inside this creature seemed gross to me. I can understand why some would like it but it didn't work for me.
I also wasn't onboard with the scene in the mess hall. You know the one I'm talking about. I don't read books with mate/partner sharing. That's a personal belief and maybe I'm a prude but I don't want to read about. I didn't know that would be a part of the narrative in this book. Although it is one short scene I still didn't like it. Again it's a personal preference.
Other than all of that, this wasn't all that memorable. I will not be reading another of the other books in this series.
I loved the different characters in this book! Zander and his people are a force to be reconned with. They are built for war with their tails, horns, and claws. It's a book that gets your attention from the start and keeps you reading. I had a hard time stopping myself and going to bed. Zander and Bekah are perfect for each other. They have their hard times, but they fought for each other and won their happily ever after. If you are looking for a book that, has it all, action, adventure, it will make you cry and laugh, this is the perfect book for you. I know I can't wait for the next book. .
This is the first book I have read by this author; I like the main character Bekah as she is very relatable and when she is first abducted, (let’s face it anyone would be scared) she is not dazzled by our hero Zandro. Zandro grows on you as a reader with how much he loves Bekah even though he doesn’t know it right away. I love sci-fi novels and this one had a twist with the spacecraft “Jaya”, she is completely unique. The story has a few good twists and our heroine never gives up on what she wants even if she doesn’t really understand why. Overall I would give this book a 3 ½ star rating.
I really enjoyed Alien Rogue a FANTASTIC Sci-Fi Romance that generated all the emotional feels for an engaging immersive read. I was totally invested in the story of enemies-to-lovers Bekah and Zandro and the unique imaginative world building that brought their story to vibrant life.
Living spaceships, political intrigue, action and adventure all fire the pages of this perfectly paced well written narrative producing a deeply satisfying romance populated by wonderfully realized characterizations.
Extraordinary storytelling that I would definitely recommend to all lovers of this genre!
When I started this novel I was expecting a light, if steamy alien romance. What I got was a touching love story in an imaginative, detailed world and an exciting plot that had me sneaking in reading breaks at work!
Bekah and Zandro had great chemistry (and yes, some steamy scenes to be sure 🥵), but adding in the intriguing secondary characters and then anxiously watching as their story unfolded amidst all the twists and turns, made this read even more exciting and satisfying. I can’t wait to continue the series - long live the Fifth House!.
I received a free copie of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What a wonderfully and carefully written world Chloe built. I loved learning about the Skoropi and the different houses.
I absolutely loved the idea of Jaya the ship being a sentient being. That is such a cool new and different aspect that I haven't read before.
The romance aspect was great, zandro wanting her but being torn between actually being with her or protecting her by staying away.
I came for the smut but I stayed for the amazing story and world building!
Will definitely read more from this author
