Word has gotten out about Lugh’s ability to kill the unkillable demons, and now every major power in the world is trying to garner his favor. Yet, while many requests pass his ears, the first to grab his attention comes from Nevan, the talented daughter of a duke in the Alvanian Kingdom. As she tells it, the prince of the kingdom has fallen to corruption—and she wants Lugh to assassinate him! Looks like some crooked rulers are about to meet their maker!
The author has no intention of concluding this light novel. Has made the main character, Lugh, and his retinue go on a demon monster killing spree. Apparently if all 8 of the demon monsters are murdered, then they cannot summon or resuscitate the Demon Lord King. And if this happens then the assassination of the "hero" the only one on that alternate reality world. will probably not be necessary. This one Demon Monster kllling per volume will make the author write at least 5 more volumes. Both Tarte and Dia find out their special skills. Tarte has a suicidal Servant devotion that gives her the possibility to sacrifice her life to save the life or resuscitate the life of the main character. If you consider that the Goddess gives everyone their special skills, the Goddess really doesn't care that much for the residents of this alternate world. Main Character is now a Holy Knight (giving him the duty to go after the demon monsters). Even though his dad is still the Noble and still the only one in charge of handling the royal family's dirty work (assassinations). Somehow the author has made it possible for Lugh (main character) to kill and do whatever the heck he wants and not necessarily do the only purpose and real goal that he has in this new world. Main character does not "kill" the snake demon monster, even though, Lugh already knows who she is. This is going to screw this alternate world in the future. Lugh doesn't earn anything from his holy crusade against the demon monsters. Author tries to make it about saving the residents of the different places in this new world. (this assassin didn't really care about anyone before, just about completing his life-death missions). Now it seems he has a conscience (only when the author needs it to write more volumes). I thought this light novel had more potential. But it's flat. Not really imaginative nor new and interesting. The new harem candidates are not unique, nor are they talented, Lugh tells Nevan Romalung, a royal daughter, all of his killing methods and secrets and includes her in his new adventures without really having a reason to do this. It doesn't make sense to do this. It just makes him weak and easy to be betrayed by a lot of people in the future.
Another great addition to the series it really is developing nicely with the world-building and character development. Also, we get introduced to some interesting characters that I hope get more appearances in the scenes. Lugh still mentions assassination too much as a reference to things, as an assassin I have to have prefect this and that, is what it boils down too for any talent, skill, or mundane thing that pops up. Despite that it is still a very good series to read compared to other OP main characters out there.
Lugh faces his strongest demon to date. There is another girl interested in him. I do have a tendency to ignore the "harem" parts of the story.
I am still enjoying the series and want to see how he deals with the other demons. If Lugh ends up defeating all of them, does it mean that he doesn't need to kill the hero?
I've liked the series thus far but I truly believe the romance and harem elements are harming it more in this book than the rest. To continually talk about the sexual relations between what are 15 year olds at this point is disgusting imo. Things are continually re-explained as if to mock the readers intelligence (YES I know what this drug or ability you've explained ten times so far in this book does, as well as having explained it previously.) If you could look past these two major faults I'd give it a 4/5. It's a fun and loose book and I'll continue the series.
