Casca 55: The Moor

Rate this book
Uncovered by a sandstorm from a fifty-year entombment under the Sahara, Casca wanders west until he finds refuge in Ceuta, one of the last outposts holding out against the advance of Islam in North Africa.Given a mission by Ceuta’s Count Julian to avenge the violation of his daughter at the hands of the Visigothic king Roderic, Casca joins the Moors in an invasion force that culminates in the decisive Battle of Guadelete, where Casca comes face to face with Roderic. In the aftermath Casca settles down to a life under the Moors in Spain with his beautiful slave Elizabeth, until fate takes a hand and Casca is yet again entombed, this time under water. It will be years until he is freed and once risen, he will fight in yet another battle to decide whether Europe will be Christian, or Muslim.
