A slow burn rock star romance read.
It was a sweet journey of two people who fake dated in the beginning and in the end fell beautifully in love.
I liked Bordeaux. He was arrogant and had a full rockstar image, but beneath his exterior was an incredible person!
It was a nice story that I enjoyed.

*3.5* For some reason this book felt like it was 700 pages, and not in a good way. There were moments of incredible character depth, and heartfelt emotions, and then there were the parts that were over the top melodramatic and I couldn't wait for the book to end.

It's a hard to pinpoint exactly what went wrong for me, as I really liked both main characters at different times. The overall writing was somewhat inconsistent, so that one moment the characters were beautifully vulnerable with each other, and then the next moment they were saying something really immature and it didn't fit their character at all.

The first thing that I felt was off was the fact that a multimillionaire, a famous rockstar is working at his grandmothers record store on his days off. That just seemed completely ridiculous, with all his fans outside and the police having to hold the fans away from the store? How are they doing any business?

The h is only applicant for a job working in the same record store. And she's perfection, smoking hot, and he's instantly attracted to her. Even more so when she pretends like she doesn't know he's famous because....she's not like all the other girls.

“I know you usually have women throwing themselves at you, begging for your rockstar dick inside of them.” She pauses and bites down on her full, plump bottom lip. “But I’m not one of those women, Bordeaux. I know it’s hard to believe that women like me exist but…” she pauses, breathing in a deep sigh, “we do.”

And then the H is all overcome with emotions.

I’ve never wanted someone I can’t have. I’ve never really wanted anyone at all, not in this way. But the more she pushes me away, the more I want her.

There was a weird and really dark backstory for her teenage years that was really out of place in this story.

They fall in love, hurt each other with harsh words, are separated, but of course all is well at the end. Hooray.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to fully expect with Reckless Desires. I knew I was getting a rockstar romance, and that was about it.

Isla and Bordeaux had me falling. With Isla healing from her breakup and Bordeaux dealing with family issues from his past, these two hurt people found each other. They had their highs, they had their lows, and together they came through all the difficulties to find their happily ever after.

That scene at the record shop when Manny walked in; fabulous.
The wedding weekend that Isla and Bordeaux went to? Was not expecting that to happen, but I'm glad it did.
The entirety of what happened in Indiana had me on the edge of my seat. (Flynn destroyed me)
Then there was the big dramatic moment, and my heart broke for these characters.
The reunion between Isla and Bordeaux gave me everything I wanted.

Also, the band and Hellfire? UGH.

I'm falling for this band, and I am so ready for the next in the series.

This one completely exceed my expectations. I was so excited for a new rockstar romance and this one did the job. I did not expect to like Bordeaux so much but he was so likeable and not a total arrogant star. He surely knew how to speak to my heart. And Isla was so feisty and I loved how she didn't give in to his charms from the beginning. They make such a perfect pair! Their story was so good. And now I can't wait for the next book to come out.

He know what he wants and then he meets Isla and now all he ever knows becomes just a one hit wonder. Isla is fierce. She comes blazing and leaves her mark on Bordeaux

Reckless Desires has the Victoria Ellis style we love and that full romance we all want. There is amazing story woven into these words that you won’t be able to put the book down. You will laugh and cry and feel all the feels, just as you do when you hear that one song, Reckless Desires is a perfect melody.

From the moment I read Isla’s short story in the Evil Queen anthology, I knew I would enjoy Reckless Desire. And Victoria Ellis did not disappoint!

Reckless Desire is a rockstar romance about two broken souls coming finding one another. On one side, you have Isla who is heartbroken over an ex who is about to get married. On the other side, you have mr. hotshot rockstar Bordeaux who’s never had anyone look at him as a person. When I tell you these two have issues, I mean it. And that’s the best part about this book. For this story and what they went through was simple and perfect for who the two are as characters.

Their internal problems were stronger than their external. Isla and Bordeaux are both adults who know what they want and I love that they were able to take time apart and to think clearly on that factor. I loved the book.

Oh, and let’s not forget the other members of the band and the fact that Victoria teased us perfectly for the next book in the series.

If you love a bad boy persona with a heart of gold and rockstars, go read Reckless Desires!

Eccomi oggi con la recensione del libro RECKLESS DESIRES della serie RECKLESS DESIRES DUET #1 di Victoria Ellis. Storia molto bella, coinvolgente, piacevole, scritta bene e scorrevole! In questa storia si percepisce l’attrazione tra i due protagonisti fin da subito e riescono a comprendersi straordinariamente anche se vengono da due mondi diversi. Hanno entrambi il cuore ferito per cause diverse ma basta l’incontro tra i loro occhi che tutto cambierà. Il filo che lega i due protagonisti è la musica, vedremo qualche colpo di scena. 5⭐️

Prima volta che leggo la penna di quest’autrice, mi piace molto e mi sono sentita molto coinvolta dalla storia ma soprattutto dai protagonisti non riuscivo a smettere di leggerla.

Trama

Bordeaux. Io non mi innamoro. Non è nella mia natura. Ma quando Isla, con le sue curve da capogiro, le sue labbra carnose e il suo sorriso sexy, entra nel negozio di dischi di mia nonna, non posso fare a meno di rimanerne ammaliato. Fingere di essere la sua nuova fiamma e accompagnarla al matrimonio del suo ex fidanzato potrebbe essere rischioso… ma, d’altra parte, sono famoso per i rischi che corro. Sono il cantante dei Reckless Desires. E sono una rockstar in ogni senso della parola.

Isla. Prima il mio ex mi ha spezzato il cuore, poi ha avuto la faccia tosta di invitarmi al suo matrimonio. Non ho la benché minima intenzione di andarci… finché una rockstar così sexy da essere quasi illegale, non decide di farmi da accompagnatore. Non avevo previsto di incontrare Bordeaux e, lo ammetto, non sono il tipo di persona che si innamora facilmente, soprattutto visto il mio passato. Non mi fido delle persone, primi fra tutti gli uomini, ma quando lo guardo negli occhi percepisco qualcosa di diverso. Non posso fare a meno di sentire una forte attrazione nei suoi confronti. È inebriante e e terrificante allo stesso tempo.

From the moment he discovered music Bordeaux Daniels knew he wanted to be part of a band and make records. He found success in the music world right out of high school, but as of late him and his band have hit a rough patch. The music they have been given to record has been lackluster to say the least, and now their record label has begun to show their true colors. Their tired of being pushed to make mediocre music and literally sell themselves so the record label can cash in on their success. Somewhere along the line it stopped being fun for them and they need a break to find themselves and their creativity again.

Which means that Bordeaux has lots of time on his hands, so when his grandma calls and requests his help with her record store he jumps at the chance to put his idle hands to work. There he finds the quiet his head has been needing, and the perfect distraction from his disastrous life.

Reckless Desires is an all-consuming love story that will have you at it's mercy from beginning to end. Bordeaux and Isla bring life to the pages with their heated exchanges and tug at your heartstrings with their traumatic pasts. It's a slow burn romance filled with moments that will have your heart feeling like it's in a vise one instant and skipping a beat the next.

These two weren't really in the market for love, but as it always it does, it found them anyway. And it became something that neither never knew they needed, in each other they found the parts of themselves that were missing, and a constant they could count on. This was such a beautifully constructed love story, one that definitely should not be missed. It's pages hold a story worthy of all your time and attention! Highly recommend!

Salve a tutti Magnetici! Eccomi qui oggi a parlarvi della mia ultima lettura. Inizio con lo scrivervi che a colpirmi è stata subito la trama, mi ha incuriosita la storia dei due protagonisti e immediatamente ho deciso che dovevo scoprire che piega avrebbe preso. Al termine della lettura posso affermare che non ho sbagliato a richiederlo, mi ha lasciato qualcosa, ma prima di aggiungere altro ve ne parlo un po’.

Bordeaux e Isla sono quanto di più lontano possa esistere, Bordeaux è una rockstar famosa, cantante del gruppo Reckless Desires, è abituato ad un certo tipo di vita, concerti, tournee, donne che impazziscono per lui e che lui puntualmente cambia ogni volta che vuole, senza avere alcun legame. La tipica vita da rockstar “maledetta”, che non vuole provare sentimenti in alcun modo.

Isla ha anche lei dei problemi con i legami, da quando la sua storia con l’ex è finita in maniera tutt’altro che positiva, non si fida più degli uomini, non vuole più farlo la sofferenza per quella storia finita male l’ha profondamente segnata, e vuole ricominciare da sé stessa.

L’incontro tra i due avviene nel negozio di dischi della nonna di Bordeaux, dove Isla è stata assunta, quando lui la vede non può fare a meno di rimanere destabilizzato dalla sua bellezza.



“È in questo istante che capisco che Isla Robles sta per causarmi parecchi guai. Isla, col suo bellissimo sorriso, i suoi occhi misteriosi, il suo vestito attillato e la mente brillante.”



In più quando in quello stesso negozio si presenta l’ex fidanzato di lei per invitarla al suo matrimonio, Bordeaux le corre in soccorso fingendo di essere il suo ragazzo e dicendo che andrà con lei al matrimonio.
Potete immaginare cosa può succedere, cominciano a passare del tempo insieme, anche se per gioco, e iniziano pian piano a conoscersi, questo li porta a guardarsi con occhi diversi, a mettere in discussione sicurezze che pensavano di avere ben radicate. Come ho scritto prima sono due mondi completamente agli antipodi, hanno abitudini e stili di vita lontanissimi, anche se l’amore fa capolino, potrebbe non essere sufficiente, o forse si…



“Già, questo potrebbe essere il paradiso o potrebbe essere l’inferno. Per lei, però, correrò il rischio.”



Sta a voi scoprire se il sentimento che sta nascendo diventerà talmente forte da sconfiggere qualsiasi cosa, oppure se i nostri due protagonisti si arrenderanno e non riusciranno ad andare oltre le loro convinzioni.

Vi consiglio la lettura di questo libro, ho trovato la trama, anche se non “nuova”, raccontata come se lo fosse, mi sono trovata immersa tra le parole per conoscere sempre di più ogni cosa, la caratterizzazione di tutti i personaggi è ben delineata, Bordeaux è quello che più mi è piaciuto, l’apparenza di ragazzo forte e rockstar maledetta, nasconde dietro sé delle cose che lo hanno portato ad essere in un determinato modo, e leggendo me lo hanno fatto apprezzare tanto. Complimenti all’autrice per questo lavoro e per come ha trattato degli argomenti sensibili e dei quali avverte all’inizio del libro, nessuna banalità. Non perdete tempo, leggete questo libro, spero che anche a voi lasci qualcosa come a me. Buona lettura e a presto.

Cari lettori, eccoci con un nuovo music romance, in compagnia di un’autrice che ho conosciuto proprio con questo libro: Reckless Desires, il primo volume della serie Reckless Desires duet, scritto da Victoria Ellis e edito dalla casa editrice Royal Books Edizioni.

Bordeaux è una rockstar, il cantante che fa girare la testa a tutto il mondo, che attira attenzioni anche quando vorrebbe solo godersi un momento suo. Ama i suoi fan, è ben consapevole dell’amore, a volte folle, che travolge la band. Ma i Reckless Desires non sono soddisfatti della musica che suonano, delle canzoni che li rappresenta, non hanno voce in capitoli su nemmeno mezza nota di ciò che esce. Sono a un passo dalla fine di un contratto di cui si sentono prigionieri e sanno che devono solo resistere, continuando a fare ci che gli viene molto bene. Certo sono un po’ dei leoni in gabbia, con tanta voglia di mostrare ciò che hanno dentro.
Ma ora hanno modo di tornare a casa per un po’ di riposo, prima di affrontare l’ultimo tour.
Quando non è in giro, Bordeaux aiuta la nonna con il suo negozio di dischi.
Ho amato quella donna, in maniera proporzionale a quanto ho odiato il padre.

“Salto giù dal palco, in preda a un’euforia che non vorrei mai abbandonare. Questo è ciò che mi fa la musica: nutre la mia anima, mi fa credere che tutto sia bello, che sono bravo in qualcosa.”

Ha delle insicurezze alla base che rischiano di uscire e palesarsi nei momenti sbagliati. Insicurezze dovute all’essere stato abbandonato dalla madre quando era piccolo, essere cresciuto con un padre che lo detestava solo per i ricordi che lo assillavano. Un padre che non ha mai voluto prendersi cura del figlio e che ha preferito affondare miseramente nell’alcol.

“Rovino letteralmente le persone, io. Chiaramente, non sono in grado di dare né ricevere amore, […]”

È nel negozio della nonna che i due protagonisti si conoscono. Galeotto è stato il colloquio di lavoro che Isla dovrà sostenere.
Lei è una forza della natura, un’anima che soffre e che vorrebbe avere la capacità di riprendersi, il suo cuore sta cercando di dimenticare una storia che è stata la sua vita. Il suo futuro lo vede nel mondo della musica, ma all’università segue un corso che le dà modo di liberare le emozioni e la sua visione del mondo.
Isla è energia pura, senza freni inibitori: ciò che pensa, dice. È la persona giusta per far uscire dalla sua zona di comfort una testarda rockstar che pensa di dover mantenere dei muri alzati tra lui e gli altri, perché se non puoi avvicinarti, allora non soffrirai, nessuno ti ferirà.

Una cosa che mi è piaciuta tanto di questo libro è il fatto che Isla, nonostante tutto quello che le si abbatte contro, non si sottomette al dolore, non abbassa la testa di fronte a persone negative. Eppure fa il passo indietro nel momento in cui pensa sia necessario. Accoglie la propria vulnerabilità, se ne prende cura. Esattamente come fa con gli altri: lei ama indistintamente, abbraccia per far star bene, protegge quando ce n’è bisogno.

Non so cosa aspettarmi dal prossimo volume, ma devo ammettere che sono davvero curiosa di sapere a chi toccherà.
Non mi resta che ringraziare la casa editrice per avermi dato la possibilità di conoscere questa penna entrando nel suo mondo.

I have never been the biggest fan of rockstar romances, but there was something that drew me to this series and I am not disappointed. This one hooked me from the start and didn’t let me go until it was over.

This book begins in a band meeting with some of the music label suits and things start to spiral. The band, Bordeaux, Miller, Declan, and Flynn, isn't happy with the way the label treats them and their music, and they don't want to go on the tour that is being set up for them. Bordeaux was paling on spending time with this grandmother and helping her out at her record shop. Which he inevitable does do, but it's only for a short time before they are forced to go on the tour. While working at the record shop, he interviews a new employee, Isla Robles. She is trying to get over a past relationship when she gets a wedding invitation in the mail. Her ex is getting married less than a year after he broker her heart. Bordeaux decides to help her out and be her fake date to the wedding, and things just snowball from there.

It was interesting for the book to start out swinging demonstrating the problems the band (Reckless Desires) was having with their label. So I was curious about that storyline from the jump. Then, adding in Bordeaux’s past and Isla’s former relationship, I was living for all of the drama.

I was expecting a little bit more to happen with the issue of Isla’s ex. I think that so much more could have happened on-the-page, but most of if seemed to develop off-page.

I loved that Isla wasn’t just going to wither and submit at the problems brewing. I love an FMC with a backbone and actually stands up for what she deserves. Additionally, making the MMC work for it is always preferred.

I want Flynn’s story so bad, but knowing that the next one is Declan's, after that little tidbit of a teaser, I am excited for ALL the drama.

I loved Bordeaux and Isla ever since I read the prequel in the Evil Queen Anthology but it didn’t prepare me for how much I’d end up actually loving them. Man I fell so damn hard for these two.

In Reckless Desires, a rockstar romance, we get the full background of both main characters, Isla and Bordeaux. Past experiences, though different for each of them, have the same result - they are both broken and scared to love. Bordeaux, not getting affection as a child has him feeling like he doesn’t know what love is and would just ruin any relationship he put effort into, avoids it altogether. Isla, whose heart was completely broken by someone she thought would be her forever, was scared to give her heart to anyone else. When she applies for a job at a record store and interviews with Bordeaux, she completely knocks his world on its axis. Although she knew exactly who he was, a famous rockstar, she treated him like he was regular person, and didn't fangirl all over the place.

When she finds herself in a predicament, he offers to help her out, which has them spending more time together and learning about each other. As one would suspect, they find themselves catching feelings. You’ll have to read the book to find out how it all goes down but it’s romantic, sweet, hot and oh so delicious!! Things catch up to them when personal incidents occur, that prove to be their undoing. The circumstances surrounding it all, makes their reactions to each other a bit understandable, after the initial shock, of course. Not to worry though, Victoria Ellis mends our hearts with a HEA!!

We also get a glimpse into background of each of the other members of the band throughout the story, which is perfect to lead us into the rest of the series. I can’t wait to get the full stories on Declan, Miller & Flynn. Stay tuned & happy reading!!

This was my introduction to Victoria Ellis and I absolutely LOVED this book! I thought, when going into this book, it'd be a somewhat typical rock star romance that gives us the H who thinks he's the shiznit and the shy, demure h who catches his eye and manages to tame the bad boy.

Nope.

We get Bordeaux and Isla, two individuals who, on the surface, couldn't be more different, but somehow instantly click from the moment they meet. They've both had traumatic events in their earlier years that have shaped them into who we meet, but they don't necessarily use those events as a way to gain sympathy; they dealt (or are stealing dealing) with the effects of said events, but it's not holding them hostage and preventing them from living their lives.

I loved that when it came to the emotions they're both experiencing, it wasn't a long, drawn out, tortuous thing we had to get through in order to see if in fact Isla and Bordeaux have that shot at a HEA; cards were laid on the table and they discussed feelings like grown folks should do lol. There was some angst in the first half of the book, but that was handled with relative ease; the only thing that irritated me was Isla's parents and the whole wedding part; they knew what went down with Isla, yet still wanted her to attend the wedding? It seemed like her parents put their longtime friendship ahead of her feelings and that didn't sit right with me.

Seeing these two work through their internal feelings and fight for that chance at forever was fantastic, but man, my heart broke for Flynn and what he's going through because I certainly wasn't expecting it to get to that point with his character. I cannot wait to get the next book in the series!

Reckless Desires is a fake dating rockstar romance about two people who were not looking for love…but found it anyway. Isla is a college student is still getting over her cheating ex who has just announced his engagement. Bordeaux is a rock star who is taking some much needed time off from touring to help at his family’s record store. The two of them meet when Isla applies for a job. While working, Isla’s ex comes into the store and Bordeaux pretends to be her new boyfriend.

I really enjoyed this story. I found that the love story between Isla and Bordeaux formed organically. Even though Isla knew that Bordeaux was a rockstar, she didn’t treat him like he was special. Bordeaux wasn’t your typical rockstar either. Sure, he’s had his fair share of women but he wasn’t overly arrogant. The way that he stood up for Isla and was there for her in her time of need was really heartwarming to watch. I absolutely loved this couple and how the author set us up for the next book in the series.

If you’re a fan of rockstar romances, you’re going to love this book.

An excellent start to a new rock romance series from a new author for me. I had no idea what to expect but I was quickly drawn into Bordeaux and Isla's story. Bordeaux is on the surface the quintessential rockstar, unbelievably hot, arrogant, and spoilt but as Isla quickly finds out underneath he is a truly nice guy who suffers with hurts from his past and fakes a rockstar persona for his fans. Isla is also hurting from a nasty break up and is too afraid to risk her heart again. When Isla goes for an interview at the record store owned by Bordeaux's grandmother there is instant chemistry between them which grows into more as they spend more time together. They are both perfect for each other but there are obstacles that might be tough to overcome for them.

When Bordeaux steps in to help Isla and becomes her famous pretend boyfriend it results in chaos but also results in the two of them finally crossing the line into more than friendship. This story is sweet and romantic but has a lot of angst, hurt and misunderstanding which is finally unravelled towards the end.

We get a glimpse of how young bands can be manipulated by unscrupulous management, and I totally hated Carleeta and was so looking forward to her downfall. The end of the book sets us up for the next one in the series and I am certainly looking forward to reading more about Reckless Desires.

Reckless Desires was a truly emotional and beautiful story. The is the first book in a series about the band, Reckless Desires. I’m already crushing hard over all the band members.
This first book tells the story of Bordeaux Daniels and Isla Robles. Isla's life has been painful especially of late. Her ex-fiance broke her heart and then had the audacity to invite her to the wedding. Bordeaux is the lead singer of the hottest rock band at the moment. The band as a whole is already getting burned out. It’s not fun anymore. Record labels are evil. During a break, while helping his grandmother with her record store, he meets Isla. Once he learns of her broken heart, he decides to go to her ex-fiancé’s wedding as her date. This starts a journey together that neither expected, catching them both off guard with a punch to the gut.
This book had depth I didn’t expect plus no unnecessary drama. It had a realistic feel with trauma in both of the characters pasts. Unfortunately, this day in time, trauma can be too common a factor in everyday life. The author incorporated that, making it more real. Emotions were easily pulled from me. If you love rockstar romance with just enough angst and feels, then read this book. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

A great start to a new rocker series by Victoria Ellis, she has set the scene for what promises to deliver great couples each and every time. We start with Bordeaux and Isla, this is gritty and in places dark read, so be prepared, Ms Ellis doesn't hold back, but it's not that the band Reckless Desires are a hard-hitting rock band, to some they are too tame, but each one of them has a rocky past which is where the heart of this series will lay. The band are not in a good place, singing songs that are just not them, being pushed by a rubbish label that only wants the money, not the creativity, Bordeaux the leader of the group is trying to hold it all together and when they employ Isla and he meets her for the first time he chemistry is there from the start, but Isla is holding something back and the more Bordeaux is around her the more the wants to know the real Isla. As the pair get closer, Isla will need to be Bordeaux rocks as the road for the band is about to go on a bumpy ride.

These two had chemistry from the moment they eyed each other
With each "Suga" that slipped from Bordeaux's lips and every hand to hip moment Isla threw back
I couldn't help but cheer them on
They both had built this persona around them - a way to protect what was left of their hearts
I was glad to be on the sidelines to watch as they found their way

I Loved Isla and Bordeaux’s Story

If you love rock romance this is a book to get your hands on. Bordeaux is the lead singer/guitarist for Reckless Desires and….just WOW!!! This man has it going on. He loves his bandmates, appreciates his fans, loves his grandma Frankie and is a sexy beast of a man. Bordeaux had it hard growing up and it has left scars on him into adulthood.

Isla is a sexy, strong woman who has been wronged by her fiancé and that has left scars on her as well. Together these who are beyond hot trying to make a go of things even though Bordeaux heads on a tour shortly. Will their new relationship be able to handle everything that’s being thrown at them?

The venture with these two was enthralling to say the least. On a side note and a big part of this book is a heartbreaking storyline around one of Bordeaux’s bandmates, Flynn. This author handled this extremely well and left me with a broken heart only to be healed again. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read Declan’s story next!!

This is the first book I've read from this author and the story was okay. There were things I liked and disliked about this book. I enjoyed Bordeaux and his band mates a lot but when it came to the female lead character Isla, I didn't enjoy her character at first. Bordeaux was sweet, charming and funny and he made the story enjoyable. Isla was always so defensive and rude at times and even after understanding why she acted the way she did, that didn't excuse her attitude towards Bordeaux. There were times where I kept wondering why Bordeaux tried so hard but there was a part of the book where I wanted to throat punch both of them for using words to hurt each other. I started to enjoy the book more once Isla let her guard down some and the ending to their story was sweet. It felt a bit rushed and I wished there was a bit more to it, but it was sweet none the less. However, the preview of the next book with Declan, Lucas and Kade definitely left me wanting to read the next book to see if the whole book is as good as the first few chapters.

I really did like this book. I think the only thing that made me give not give a 5th star is the fact the ending fell a little flat for me. Don’t get me wrong I was happy how it ended up it felt a little rushed and it was like will they/won’t they and made me nervous when it showed there was only a few pages left. The story centers around Bordeaux who is one part of the band Reckless Desires. He comes home to help his grandmother with her record store and hires the fiesty Isla who definitely gives him a run for his money. One day when her ex-fiance shows up and he decides to help her out and say they are dating. I mean what guy isn’t going to be jealous that his ex moved on to a hot rock star? I mean this fake dating seems like a cliché but trust me it is not because you definitely stay on your toes as things happen throughout the book. Overall I really did like that story I just wished the ending was a tad bit different. I still highly reccommend though and cannot wait to start Declan’s story next.

I read this on the coast of Cancun… Let’s just say, Victoria Ellis had me devouring this (and a few tequilas) in less than a day. Bordeaux adds that caliente, swoony attitude you want in your hero.

The story takes you through heartbreak, angst, and loss. You’ll fall in love with the characters. Just the right spice to warm up your winter!

This is the first in a four part standalone series. Can’t wait for Declan’s story! k. Nope. Not giving in.

Having picked up Ms.Ellis’ work recently in the Evil Queen Anthology i’ve been wanting to get into her books for quite some time now. As soon as i reached the end of her story in the anthology i knew i had to dive into this series first. I picked it up as soon as i could and got into the Reckless Desires Rockstar Romance world. I enjoyed this first installment!

Bordeaux and Isla’s journey pulled me in! I really liked the different way these two were brought together and how i didn’t know what all to expect in their story. I so enjoyed getting to dig deeper with these two and the way both of them had me feeling so many things! I loved the rockstar aspect of it all as well!

With Reckless Desires, Ms.Ellis has created such a good read! I am already looking so forward to getting back into this world with the second installment, Shattered Desires!

New author? New rock romance series? Yes please! Reckless Desires did Not disappoint.

Bordeaux Daniels is a man who has it all. The fame of his band with his 3 best friends, and the worship of all his fans. He also has  women whenever he wants them.  One thing he doesn't have is love.

He doesn't think he will ever find it and his past makes him feel like he doesn’t have an idea of what to do with it if he found it.  Until Isla Robles walks into his grandma's record shop to apply for a job. She doesn’t throw herself at his feet or ask him for his autograph.  He is feeling things that he cannot comprehend.   Where did she come from?

Isla has been through hell. What else would anyone describe it as when they find their fiance in bed with someone who looks nothing like them? She has no desire to be in a position to have her heart broken again.  Bordeaux may be a famous rockstar, but she only sees the man. When he offers to be her plus one for her ex fiancé's upcoming wedding,  she decides to accept.  What could it hurt to show up and make him think about what he missed out on?


This got me in all the right ways.  The laughs, the tears, and the fact that sometimes you just have to say 'yes'.  I am sure, with all the teasers the author sneaks in, that I will definitely not be missing the rest of this series.

Reckless Desires is book one in the Reckless Desires Rockstar Romance series. We kick it off with Bordeaux and Isla's story, we meet the band/label and you get to set the background for not only this story, but to see if our suspicions will be correct when the other band members book release in 2022. B, is not used to being told 'no' or being fawned over, so he meets his match with Isla. She is full of feisty, brave and bold to just describe her personality. The story is heartbreaking at times, full of laughter and leads us into unexpected outcomes is how I will best describe the story to avoid any spoilers. I will say the story was a great way to introduce the band and it will be interesting to see how each person heals is the only word I can think of to describe it. I look forward to more in this series and highly recommend this book if you love those bad boys in rock bands.

I've strayed away from a lot of rock star romance because it seems like they're all really similar these days. I'm happy to report that Reckless Desires is not in the cookie cutter mold so I fell in love with it instantly. Isla had her heart broken by her ex, and it's done her head (and definitely her heart) in quite a bit. Bordeaux is our resident rock star who doesn't come off that way at all. He has his own share of demons from past family issues. You wouldn't think these two would meet but fate is a funny thing. They do in fact meet, and the attraction is instant but it's not exactly an easy journey. It's actually a pretty emotional journey since these two definitely needed to work out their own demons for a shot at something great, but did they?! I'll never tell so you'll have to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
