From the Publisher: Amelia Allen visits her hometown for the first time in years. Who's the first person she meets? Of course, she runs into Ian Reynolds, the very reason Amelia stayed away in the first place. Amelia and Ian first met as Little Leaguers and eventually fell in love. They were supposed to head off to college together, but Ian bailed with no explanation.
Unforeseen circumstances keep Amelia in her hometown longer than she'd like, but she has some surprises coming her way. It's possible a new love could set her aflame, but there's also a chance her old flame with Ian could be rekindled.
Amelia came back home never intending to have her life flipped upside down. She didn't even know she was lost, but it now appears Amelia is about to find herself in the most unexpected of places, surrounded by the family and friends who make her heart complete.
From the Author: Join the Allen family along their path of friends, family, and faith during the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival, an annual week-long event filled with fun! Take a moment to relax and unwind with this sweet Southern family and all they have to share.
This was a cute romance from debut author Caleb Wray.
One thing I loved about this book was that it took place somewhere that I was so familiar with. It’s so close to my hometown, and I loved reading a story that I could really connect with.
I loved the Hallmark feels of this book. It really showed you that “home is where the heart is”. Sometimes, you just need to go back home to find yourself again.
This book was a little predictable. Which isn’t always a bad thing. It can be comforting to have things end the way you want them and expect them to.
The writing was a little patchy, and not the best, but this is a debut novel, and I expect the writing to get smoother in each subsequent novel.
This book is like a warm hug, and would be great for you if you are a fan of romance.
This book makes me want to attend the next Strawberry Festival in the quaint town of Humboldt TN. What a fantastic portrayal of small, hometown life. The sense of community, love and perfection is all wrapped up here in this story of faith, teamwork and family. Looking forward to more from this new author!
I received this book for Christmas. I was very pleased with it, especially with the good grammar and interesting characters. I read about a book a day, and this author compares favorably with the better writers I encounter.
Truly, this I not a genre I read in often, but I am so glad I had a chance to follow the journey of Amelia "Amy" Allen as she winds through past pain, new hope and dashed dreams to find the place where she belongs. A very sweet and wholesome romance, with strawberries on top!
