Everyone has three lives. A public life, a private life, and a secret life.
I’m a junior in high school, and yet, I’ve never been on a date.
Everybody says it's because my overprotective brothers scare all the guys away, but I can't help wondering if there's something wrong with me.
That is, until I hear a rumor that I’m secretly dating my brothers’ best friend.
What?
Sure, I used to think Mack was the most perfect guy in the universe, but I got over that crush years ago.
And even though he teases my brothers about taking me to Make-Out Point, there’s no way he’d actually make good on that threat. I’ve only ever been the dorky girl next door to him.
But when Mack’s sleepwalking episodes lead him to staying a few nights on the trundle bed in my room and we talk and share things we never tell anyone else, I start to wonder if a secret relationship is exactly what I want.
My brothers have made it clear that Mack is never allowed near me. But what my brothers don’t know can’t hurt them, right?

I loved hanging out with Mack and Cambrielle these past few months. They made me laugh, they made me cry, and they even made me swoon. I hope you enjoy it!
This was such an exciting story! The idea of secretly dating your over-protective brothers’ best friend??? I was over the moon for Mack and Cambrielle!
They were so fun to read, Mack your typically charming, flirty guy but is a high softie as well. Cambrielle was also a delight to read about, sweet and shy but determined to make the most of her high school life.
They deal with certain things which I admired and I loved how they managed it in their own ways and how they could help each other out as well. I loved how well they dealt with different and difficult situations but also had plenty of stolen moments they could cherish secretly.
Looking forward to Elyse’s story! And based on the epilogue I can already see the drama brewing!
Received a copy from the author herself for an honest review and this does not affect my review or rating of the book thank you!
I really enjoyed reading Cambrielle's and Mack's story. They are such a sweet couple. I loved the difficult topics tackled in this book. There is a lot of emotion, but it is executed so sweetly.
I loved how Mack is so sweet. He really has some issues, but it is addressed in an appropriate way. I also love how he cared for everyone. His friendship with Carter is really nice. Mack is so swoony and I love how he says he doesn't have feelings, but he does.
Cambrielle is a wonderful heroine. I like how she cares for everyone including Carter. The sneaking around part was really fun. I also enjoyed the tenderness and the relationship she has with her family. The blended family and family centric romance is nice.
The ending of the book is super sweet. It is emotional, but it was a good closing. Mack's bond with his parents and mom is so nice. I also enjoyed seeing bits of Carter and his girlfriend. It was a nice blast from the past.
Also, the kissing scenes are really good. I like how they are more on the steamier side, but, nonetheless, extremely sweet. There is loads of chemistry and the pacing is really good.
In summary, I highly recommend this novel.
*I have received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Eden Falls Academy has quickly become my all time favorite series ever written by Judy Corry. If you like Abbi Gline’s Field Party series I would say this is a cleaner (but still all the feels) version minus the football aspect. It’s full of high school drama, real life scenarios, relatable characters, & a group of friends you want to be apart of! It can be read as a stand-alone but in order to really get the background & characters you should read The Charade first (check out my review). As much as I loved Carter & Ava, I think Mack & Cambrielle take the cake. This had so much emotion, forbidden/secret love (brother’s best friend my fav!), heartbreak, rekindled old crushes, growth, & love. It’s nostalgic, the whole time I was reading I re felt all those feelings of falling in love & being insane over the other person all over again. One of the best series I’ve read this year. I can’t wait for Elyse & Nash’s story next!
Quick Summary: A heartbreak and happiness YA/NA romance
My Review: The Facade by Judy Corry is book 2 in the Eden Falls Academy series. It features the relationship between Mack and Cambrielle.
Question to Consider: What is going on?! How can an old crush help to land a new crush?
About the Book: Cambrielle is desperate to capture the attention of her senior crush before she loses her chance. As a favor to her, Mack, best friend of her brothers, will set up a meet cute, so that she can make her interest known. He will also teach her how to properly kiss. Surely, neither will catch feelings for the other.
My Final Say: This was a diamond level read. It was so sweet. It was also VERY emotional. I couldn't stop crying over what happened. I was gutted. I knew what was coming, nevertheless, I was so affected by the way it all went down. It was beautiful to see the family and friends rally.
This story really was one of a kind, adorable, and a must read!! Mack is a 6 foot 5 inch basketball player that has problems sleepwalking. He has walked through the woods, swam with the fishies, and slept in other peoples beds. Which leads to Cambrielle taking care of him.
Cambrielle had a crush on Mack till he started joking about dating her. Him being not serious stung and really put a damper on her feelings. So she ends up having a crush on someone that looks a lot like him, Ben.
I absolutely cherish this story, there was a lot of parts that hit home for me. It really is a treasure to read. I thank the author for the ARC! It’s well worth reading!! I can’t wait for the next story in the series!
* kissing lessons * friends to lovers * brother‘s best friend * secret dating
Though it also focuses on a rather serious topic (regarding Mack’s storyline) this book also revives the fluffy feels from book 1 and gave me exactly what I needed after reading some more dark themed books – a good time. Still there is no spice (🥲), although I didn‘t expect that to change here it‘s something I‘ve been missing.
Cambrielle is over her crush on her neighbor and brothers' best friend, Mack or so she thought. Until Mack occasionally sleepwalked to her house and into her room. It took a kissing tutorial and few jealous moments for Mack to realize that he had stopped seeing her as his annoying 'little sister but as a woman. The bigger problem is that her brothers will never allow their 'player' friend to date their little sister.
Although I have read a lot of best friend's little sister's romance, this is one of my favorites. It was very funny, cute and with a lot of content.
The Facadewas a sweet, cute and romantic story between friends that blossoms into a lot more than expected. It was a sort of coming of age story for Cambrielle Hastings with having a lot of first experiences when it comes to putting herself out there and getting into a relationship with her brothers best friend and next door neighbor Mack Aarden.
Cambrielle and Mack’s story definitely took them on quite a journey from the get go. Not realising what one simple event could lead to, turns into them keeping their blooming relationship a secret in order for it to work. Especially when you throw in overprotective older brothers, life issues involving family illnesses and schooling decisions. All resulting in Cambrielle and Mack having their plates full, making their path together a tough one to whether through considering the endless obstacles and hurdles to overcome in order for them to know if it’s the real deal and worth it. With all of that going on, Judy Corry made you feel the many different emotions seeping out from the pages, with giving you an understanding just what exactly Mack and Cambrielle felt and endure throughout. Leading to moments that had you laughing, smiling, swooning whilst simultaneously feeling sad, crying and hurting from the heartache and pain that both suffered through. Especially Mack when it came to his mother, it had my heart breaking for him.
While I did enjoy the story overall, I did have to knock off a star firstly because in the beginning the story felt a little too slow paced for my liking. Especially since it felt a little too wordy, resulting in the progression of the story not feeling like it was going anywhere with the lack of a strong and clear direction IMO. Also I felt the drama surrounding the situation Cambrielle uncovers happened quite quickly with it all being over too fast. I guess I would have preferred it either be expanded on a little more, considering I expected there to be a bigger explosion from the outcome of it all.
All in all,The Facadewas a sweet story with seeing Cambrielle and Mack having a HEA they deserved. Especially with that bonus epilogue. Safe to say, I am still looking forward to Elyse’s story next.

Judy Corry's talent for writing addictive mature YA stories is unsurpassed. This clean read is filled with loveable characters and dramatic storylines, Eden Falls Academy is a must read series!
I love this brother's best friend/friends to more story. Shy Cambrielle was in middle school when she first started crushing on Mack. Now a junior, she’s moving on because he’s never shown any interest and unlikely he'll ever see her for anything but an honorary little sister. She's got a new crush and the perfect plan to get him to notice her.
Mack is a senior and not prepared to face the harsh realities of life. How delicate it can be and that sometimes you can fight with all you've got and it's still not enough to change the outcome. He's always the one taking care of others and the first one to make a joke and he's not ready to let people in his struggles except with Cambrielle. Their friendship deepens as she's there for Mack when he really needs someone to be there with him and for him.
There are sweetly spicy moments, endearingly loyal moments along with heart wrenching ones. Prepare yourself for a swoony book boyfriend, dreamy HEA and definitely some tears. Judy's writing is sublime and this sweet and emotional story just flows all the way through. I'm already thinking about a re-read I love it so much.
To really enjoy The Facade, start with The Charade because there are storylines that continue from there in this book. The next book looks like love is taking centre stage and the spotlight is on Cambrielle's outgoing brother Nash. Can't wait!!
I was kindly provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited to get to read this book after reading the first book in the series. I couldn’t stop reading it because it just had it all. This is a brothers best friends/neighbour YA romance and is the second book in this series. It had all the feels, I went from laughing to crying in a matter of minutes. I loved the relationship development between cambrielle and Mack. Even when they had known each other all their lives it wasn’t until Mack was asked a favour that things changed it all.
The more time they spent together the more it just felt natural and easy and I felt every sort of emotional like I was there watching it unfold. I was left crying quiet a bit in some moments where I was sobbing so I recommend a tissue box. I love reading a book where the perfect girl is right in front of the male character and it takes something to change the perspective. This book has to be one of my favorite books of Judy Corry’s and I cannot wait to read more of this series.
- Cambrielle and Mack - the sleepwalking - their friendship is adorable - the haunted house 🤣🤣 - I like Mack - first kiss 😍 - I find Carter frustrating - I like how open they are with each other. Minus their feelings, of course. - "I just hoped Mack-I mean, Ben-liked the faerie-queen look as well." - guys. Just make better friends. Seriously. Is it weird if I teach my boys to not be best friends with a guy they wouldn't be okay with their sisters dating? It's a strange bar but I think it's worthwhile - morning text message. Adorable. - forbidden romance can be fun to read but it's also a bit stressful. - welp, this definitely made me cry - like so many tears - okay, that was quite the emotional Rollercoaster! - Elyse's epilogue got me excited for her book and the bonus epilogue was so sweet. - this book was not necessarily a light read but it was funny and emotional and romantic and heavy and a tearjerker. - I didnt feel like it was as steamy as The Charade. Judy Corry did a great job staying to the left of my personal line. So, thank you!
I think I liked this better than The Charade, even though it took me way longer to read it. I ended up switching from the paperback to the audiobook and that was definitely the right choice.
As a whole, I really liked it but the one thing that I struggled with was the heavy topics that were brought in but not focused on for long. Specifically, the major moment for Mac at the end -- it definitely hit hard for me but I feel like it was brushed past really quickly to get back to the romance and I struggled to enjoy a makeout scene pretty much immediately after it. It also felt like Cambrielle didn't have any emotions about it except worrying about whether Mack still liked her which made her feel (I think unintentionally) very self-absorbed and not like she cared about Mack as a person all that much.
I'll continue with the series eventually, but it's not super high on my list
I'm not gonna lie - I was disappointed when I heard the 2nd book was going to be about Cam and Mack. I really wanted to hear Elyse's story next! But this story blew me out of the water!! It goes so much deeper than just a contemporary romance!! (which there's nothing wrong with contemporary romance - I read it often!) This surprised me with Mack and his mom's relationship. It brought me to tears and I found myself highlighting and thinking about some of the insights they had. I really loved Mack's Tetris analogy. Seriously, I love writing that has you thinking about it days later!!
Cambrielle and Mack were great together! I love the sibling like banter between the 2 and woo was their tension hot!! Fantastic book and I can't wait to read the next one! Breathe easy Judy - this book is fabulous!!!
This was a great sequel to the first book. The relationship that Mack and Cambrielle had was adorable. I loved everything about this book. There was anger experienced against an evil teenager, laughter during all the funny parts, sadness in the times where Mack showed his deep love for his mom, and everything in between. I cried for sure. The romance and chemistry was off the charts. This is the kind of relationship I want. I can’t wait for the next story which I think might be Nash and Elyse. I could be wrong though.
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Having adored The Charade, I impatiently anticipated The Facade... and was blown away by its depth and rawness.
I liked Mack and Cambrielle in book 1, and was excited by the prospect of their relationship, especially given how protective her brothers are. The tragedy of Mack's mum's health only added to the emotional turmoil of this story, and although this tragedy was a bitter pill to swallow, it burrowed M & C deeper into my heart.
Such a beautifully-written story. Love you and your brain, Judy! Looking forward to Elyse and Nash's book!
This one will grab you and not let go. Great story of true friendships and how much we need friends when the hard things in life come. It was also really funny! So if that’s important to you in a book this one is for you! As always I can’t wait for the next book!
I was totally not in the mood to read in the YA genre when I started this one but it one me over before I could even finish the first chapter. You just can’t help being emotionally attached to everyone in this world.
I absolutely loved these characters! Such a great match! The teasing (like siblings) and the initial disgust at even thinking of the other person romantically to the slow burn of realizing they actually did have feelings for each other and the gradual maturing of the relationship… the characters were so realistic and fun that it was easy to imagine them in real life. I really thought the author did an excellent job in portraying and expanding on their personalities. I didn’t feel lost like I often do when it’s been a while since I read a book in a series. I had no trouble keeping track of who was whom. It was very well written and will appeal to a wide audience.
I genuinely think I lost brain cells reading this because wdym his mum died but the most important thing was if her brothers were going to kick his ass about them secretly dating for FIVE days. like I feel like there are some bigger priorities
I literally read this book in like 7 hours! By FAR one of the best books Judy has written to date! This book put me through such an emotional roller coaster and I loved every second of it! I grew to LOVE every part of Mack and Cambrielle! There chemistry was electric and made my heart warm with every single interaction they had. 🙌🏼❤️
This is one of my favorites of Judy 's second only to Meet Me There. This is not your typical YA romance. We are taking on a roller coaster of emotions. Mack is everything I love in a BBC. He's funny and he loves to tease the girl he likes. I love the different facets of Cambrelle. She's shy and sweet but also confident. This was a great story and I loved it.
This book ripped my heart out! Both in the good and bad way! It was so wonderfully written! It has some sensitive topics so keep that in mind when reading it.
