This is not the book to get you through system design interviews. I like the first 3 chapters that cover the basic. The author shares tips about estimating the storage and network I/O need, which is useful for sure. But the rest of the book fails to provide end to end solutions.
Could have added components and it’s interaction. The system requirements and non functional requirements were to the point, while explaining the requirements, author jumps to the deep dive without having to walk through the lay reade
This book lacks clear explanations of the concepts it discusses, but it was a helpful guide for tackling system design interviews at a high level. I would recommend looking elsewhere for more simpler and in-depth explanations.
Went through this just for an industry refresher. Helpful material. I wouldn’t actually recommend this for anyone facing this type of interview, though.
