Alex is hired as a bodyguard for actress Miranda Putnam who has been receiving death threats that unfortunately she's not taking seriously but her studio is they make her hire security. Miranda is only willing to deal with one bodyguard so since Alex is the best he gets the job and he decides to bring along a driver so he'll have backup just in case. Turns out to be a good thing since there's more going on than we originally expected and everything is not as it seems. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this romantic suspense story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Alex's latest assignment is to guard professional actress and diva, Miranda. After receiving death threats, Miranda has finally given in for her management team to hire her a bodyguard.

There is a lot packed into this short book of 220 pages so strap yourself in and enjoy the ride! While I did pick who the baddie was early on, it didn't deter from my enjoyment of the book. And I guarantee you, after reading this, you'll be belting out the Whitney Houston classic!

This is a well written action packed romance between Alex and Miranda. He's her hired bodyguard while she's receiving death threats. The author does a great job building the story and moving it quickly and smoothly. It's an entertaining story and I enjoyed reading.

Miranda is in dire need of a bodyguard. Despite the stalker and death threats looming over her, she's determined to do things her way.
Is Miranda's stubbornness the salve that Alex's broken soul desperately needs?

Don't let the size of the book fool you. There is a lot happening in these 220 pages, and I absolutely loved it.

A really wholesome contemporary romance!

This is a romance between a bodyguard and the actress he was hired to protect - both the MCs have traumatic pasts/presents which are presented and dealt with in a really complete manner.

Though the romance happens pretty fast, the MCs and their motivations are fleshed out really well.

The secondary characters and plotlines were also great! All the subplots of the book came to a head very neatly in the third act, and were all dealt with in a complete and satisfying manner.

Overall, I had a lot of fun reading this book, and I love forward to the future books in this series :)

This is a good addition to the "Second Chances in Hollywood" stories. This one is about Miranda and Alex. He is good at his job and is hired as a bodyguard to the star Miranda. She is receiving death threats and agree to hire a bodyguard, but only one. Since he is the best he is hired along with a driver to use as back up. This is a action packed romantic suspense with some good twists and turns..

Private Protection is the second book in the Second Chances in Hollywood series. After reading Private Lives, I had high hopes for the second book in this series, and Author Mimi Francis did NOT disappoint whatsoever. In fact, I believe she has created a marvelous romance book series. Private Protection follows the narrative of Alex Peters and Miranda Putnam. Alex works for Primetime Securities and is seen as the best bodyguard the company has in their company. Alex has what it takes to keep celebrities protected even the most difficult celebrity. His latest assignment is a big-name actress who has been receiving death threats. That big name celeb is non-other than Mirand Putnam who has a reputation for being stubborn, snotty, and a diva. In Alex’s mind the worst of all of that about Miranda is the fact that she has an uncanny resemblance to his dead wife. In Miranda’s mind she doesn’t need protection, and she doesn’t want it. Miranda isn’t afraid of a bunch of stupid death threats, she just wants to be left alone to live her life without being told what to do, especially not by her incredibly annoying and incredibly sexy bodyguard, Alex. Will Alex be able to keep Miranda safe from the person whose sending her death threats and those who are stalking her? Will Alex’s attraction to Miranda put her life in more jeopardy? To find the answers to these questions, I would suggest to others to checkout this book and give it a read. When we’re first introduced to Alex, I found him to be a phenomenal guy who is dedicated to doing his job correctly. As the story progresses, my like for Alex became increasingly obvious. Now when we meet Miranda, I thought her to be a spoiled brat who should have taken the death threats more serious than she did, when I got to know her more, I could understand why she didn’t want to be told what to do or be told where she can and cannot go. I can’t wait to see what the next book of this series will be about, my hope for the next book is to be just as amazing as this one or even better.

This is book two in The Second Chance in Hollywood series and it is Alex and Miranda’s story. Alex is a bodyguard for Primetime Securities and is so good at his job and for protecting high profile celebrities and clients so when he is assigned to protect Miranda who is a actress he doesn’t expect his life to change so drastically. Miranda is a actress and when she gets death threats and also a stalker it is suggested that she have a bodyguard but she is having none of it because she doesn’t think the threats are real or serious but in the end she had to give in and that is how Alex became her protector and bodyguard. Alex and Miranda both have there own baggage and pasts that they are still dealing with but as the threats become more serious and also dangerous and get closer than anyone thought they would Alex will have to do everything possible regardless of the situation or what he will have to do if he is going to protect and keep Miranda safe by eliminating the threat as soon as possible because he couldn’t go through anymore loss in his life. My heart broke with everything that they had both been through in their lives and the twists and turns will have you turning the pages to not only see what would happen next but also what the outcome will be for them both in the end. I absolutely loved this romantic suspense because the story pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Alex Peters is Primetime Securities best bodyguard. He's accustomed to guarding high-profile clients who sometimes don't want his services. His boss, David, needs a favor and knows Alex can't refuse to help him. 

Alex hates to work with actresses. The last time he did, it didn't work out well for him. But he does have an overwhelming need to protect. He's not sure if it's because of him being the eldest child or his former military service, but he just has a need to protect. It's what makes him happy. 

Miranda Putnam is a big-name actress who has been receiving death threats. She hates having security and wants it understood that she's the one in charge, not him. Unfortunately, he had only seen old or blurry pictures of her. He had no idea how much she resembled his deceased wife. And it just wasn't her looks; it was also her mannerisms. 

Even with protection, someone was able to get into her home. Someone also shot at her, and Alex was grazed. Who's going to protect her heart against her growing feelings for Alex? But maybe that won't be necessary, as something is already holding him back.

🍀🍁Miranda is a movie star who is getting death threats she doesn't want to take seriously, but her studio demands she has security. She decides to tolerate the idea. Alex is the best his security firm has to offer since she has said one security officer. He brings a driver so he has backup. Thank goodness he did! All is definitely not as it seems!

🍀🍁For Miranda and Alex this is their second chance at happiness... I think fate took care of their meeting...

This book was such an intense read!

Alex Peters is hired to be a bodyguard for an actress, Miranda Putnam, who had been receiving death threats. Will Alex be able to protect her, and recover from his past?

Prívate Protection was equal parts romance and suspense! Not only were we privy to witnessing the love story between Alex and Miranda (with special guest appearances from Chris and Sofia!), but we also were drawn into this suspenseful mystery as Alex and his team try and find out who is threatening Miranda!

Throw in a death if a loved one, general anxiety, lots o crazy threats, and a couple of trips to the hospital, and you’ve got yourself a book I couldn’t put down!

This book is such a great addition to the Second Chance in Hollywood series!

This book had me reading to the end before I knew it. This book was filled with a lot of tension and intrigue. I really liked how this story unfolded. Miranda and Alex definitely had some interesting chemistry and the way it played out with Alex’s past was very interesting. I liked the way he had such awareness to take a step back and look at the reasons for his feelings and if he was doing the right thing. I do have to say that Miranda’s character was tenacious and a good compliment to Alex.

If you like your romance with a side of danger and suspense then this book is for you.

This book is action-packed, angsty and suspenseful. Neither Miranda or Alex is looking for love or a relationship of any sort. Both have closed their hearts to new possibilities, but somehow as they try out wit a determined assailant, the tension, annoyance and anger they once felt turns into love. Now all they have to do is stay alive. This book has plenty of twists to keep one guessing until the end.

I would recommend this engrossing book to those who love romance whith a good dose of suspense.

Private Protection by Mimi Francis is a good, and enjoyable sweet steamy billionaire movie star workplace romantic suspense read. The story has a great entertaining world building story line that is a well written read. The characters are great, strong, well written, and they have great sizzling chemistry. I love bodyguards story and I really liked this one. I only have one reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars. My deal breaker is the third person point of view-sorry but this one is very important because it makes the story impersonal in my opinion. But because I really love reading about bodyguards I gave it four and a half.

Alex is as hot as you can make him in your mind. I found his chemistry with Miranda to be on simmer, rather than scorching, and had a hard time caring about them enough to want to race through the book; rather, my pace through the book was lackadaisical.

I adored Alex and Miranda. They're the perfect addition to this series! I also loved the fact that our previous couple Chris and Sofia make an appearance in this book!
