An Amazon exclusive! In this romantic comedy mystery, a young woman discovers that life is like an elevator--just be sure to get off on the right floor.
Hello. My name is Virginia, although I live in Georgia… Atlanta, to be precise. Two years ago I happily clutched my degree in Hospitality Management, smug with the knowledge that I would always have job security because no matter what, people would always travel, right? And then the pandemic happened. It’s hard to complain about losing my job in the midst of so much tragedy, but it came on the heels of a bad breakup, and being partially abandoned by my nomad parents. I was shook.
Thank goodness the economy is starting to reopen, but because so many hotels have closed permanently, there are three people for every hospitality job available, and I don’t have enough seniority to even warrant an interview. So when I heard of an opening at a historic hotel in Midtown that’s allegedly haunted, I showed up in person to beg for the job. I naively told the eccentric owner I’d do anything… and that’s how I wound up being an Elevator Girl.
What’s an Elevator Girl? Stay tuned, friends, for the story. There are ghosts, an unsolved murder, and some of the most oddball guests imaginable. Oh, and the mind-bending secret I stumbled upon in the basement. In between I spend a LOT of time riding up and down, wondering where my life went wrong and how I can get off this ride. _________________________
USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
I am a big fan of Stephanie bond and have read all her serial novels and many of her books. Always dependably entertaining with interesting characters and plot twists. I enjoy the interwoven characters that show up in different books.
I’ve suspected Alec as the murderer and now evidence has been found by Virginia pointing to him; however, there could be an explanation such as he had the evidence because he was giving her CPR and maybe her ring fell off and he grabbed it and pocketed it because he knew it’d have his DNA on it.
I’m still suspecting Archie, although I really hope it isn’t him and that Virginia and him fall in love. I love a romance in a book! But it doesn’t look good for Archie because the watch he had on when he and Virginia met at the pawn shop could have actually been her grandfathers. I’m thinking the Polaroid pics found in Louise’s room were being used by her as blackmail.
It’s all such a mystery and I’ve got so many questions!
Onto book 5 of 6! I lied…apparently I do have to wait for books 5 and 6. Dangit!!!
So, I just started “A Little Slice of Death (A Two Broomsticks Gas & Grill Witch Cozy Mystery Book 3) by Amanda M. Lee. Review soon…

This is part 4 of 6 part daily serial, part four is month of October.
Loving the concept of this daily serial, “What's an Elevator Girl? Stay tuned, friends, for the story. There are ghosts, an unsolved murder, and some of the most oddball guests imaginable. Oh, and the mind-bending secret I stumbled upon in the basement. In between I spend a LOT of time riding up and down, wondering where my life went wrong and how I can get off this ride.”
This serial is so entertaining, perfect escapism from real life. I love all the different aspects of this story, so many different things going on. Can’t wait to find out who the murder is though, there are plenty of suspects that’s for sure.
I love that they are short, quick reads, heading straight into part 5 which is the month of November.
Elevator Girl is a fun daily serial and is written like a diary in daily segments. Virginia needed a job and finally found one working at the 1970's themed Coronada Hotel as an Elevator Girl. The hotel is having financial problems and is now scheduled to be closed and torn down. Virginia sees a ghost wandering the halls of the hotel and learns about Eloise's death. Through time travel, she goes back to the 1970's and meets Eloise and her friends and Virginia is trying to figure out who killed Eloise. It is an intriguing cozy mystery!
This short book of the six part series by Stephanie Bond is a little bit dull and boring as it adds very little to the plot. The time travel is interesting in Virginia's search for the solution to the crime but it seems like she is moving through the same situations with the boyfriends more than once. I expected some low key humor in the series but haven't found it yet.
Still not sure how this will end. Enjoying the plot and characters. Appreciate that the writing is solid. The 70's are being represented very well. It was a great time! I also appreciate that there are not any glaring typos! I am liking the time travel aspect. Not overdone. 2 more until the end. Enjoy!
October 31st, really? I’m sitting here and can’t believe this and want to read more but have to wait a few days for part 5 of 6 to come out 😬 I’m so confused at this time with “who done it” and that’s exactly where my confusion needs to be. Great job Miss BOND with your story telling.
Stephanie Bonds serial novella are so additive. Can't wait for the next installment Of you've never read her series try one, takes no time to read and you will be hooked.
This forth month in Elevator Girl is really riveting, so many questions answered, and new evidence revealed. I can't wait until next month. What a cliffhanger! I highly recommend this serial and all of Stephanie Bond serial and books.
I look forward to each day of this series. This is my favorite so far. Maybe because she reminds me most of myself. Plus, who doesn't want to believe in ghosts and time travel??
Story just keeps getting more interesting. Easy to follow and definitely grabs your attention. It has been awhile since I’ve found something so engaging I just want to sit and read.
This series is so unique the characters we as readers can visualize. I am so enjoying this series as I have never read anything quite as amazing as Elevator Girl.
I love these books. A fun "time travel". This author has written several different books in this format of one book is one month in the life of the character. They have all been great.
Interesting twist on time travel. The fast pace held my interest especially as a child of the 70's. I enjoy Stephanie Bond's writing and look forward to reading another of her daily serials.
I’m still hooked by this serial. The added details and connections between the characters are adding to the story but by bit. I’m enjoying each piece of the puzzle more and more.
Part four of this serial is really being deep. So many suspects to wonder about!!! My head is spinning trying to figure this one out! I just hope it isn't who I think it is!
