This was not what I was expecting but I loved the story!

The forbidden romance between Single Dad, Ian and the much younger, Maxie, was a slow burn love story. It had instant sparks between the MCs and the lust was definitely front and center for these two but the romance, the romance was a delicious built up of friendship, affection and sacrifice.

This story was well thought out, written flawlessly and delivered on a cute, spicy love story between two grown adults who have given up on love and then find their perfect other half, completely by surprise.

Loved Maxie, she was a strong, independent heroine and she broke my heart with her sad past and stoic outlook on her future. Finding Ian was Maxie's kryptonite. He was older, wiser and sparked a fire in her, she hasn't felt for life, in a long time.

Brandy, Ian's daughter and Maxie's "friend" - and I use that term VERY loosely - was the only downside to this story. I honestly tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, like Maxie does, but I'm no saint and this girl tested my patience one too many times. She was a little too self centered, immature and opportunistic for my tastes.

Favorite secondary character was Margo! We need more Margos in our books/stories. She was a great friend, awesome leading lady material :)

Otherwise this was an awesome read and I hope there is more like this in the near future!

I was looking for a smutty filler book so I picked up this one, since it was free on Amazon today.
It had a lot more plot than I expected, and the heat levels are maybe a one out of ten. (I legitimately didn’t realise at one point that they were having sex. Had to reread over it, it’s very vague and does not describe anything). Not really any drama over the age gap, there’s maybe two lines where someone says anything, and one was pretty darn funny. It’s not forbidden, just a little awkward with who it was, but then it really worked to offset and make it more acceptable. He had his daughter when he was a teenager, the roommate is a year older and so mature in comparison to his daughter etc.
Nobody picking this book up to read it went in thinking; “ooh, I hope the age gap isn’t too big and it’s tastefully done.” It is very tame.
I was also expecting them to get together a lot sooner in the book. For book with a really obvious name like one it seemed a waste of time to make everything happen so far into the story.
But it’s a great switch off story, low levels of angst and drama along with the heat, with a mellow little HEA.

This is the ridiculous….ly good and most unexpected book i ever read!

Judging from the cover and title, i was ready for a poorly-written, absurdist romance that you find in the bargain bin of the dollar store (a bit harsh sorry). The prologue got me real worried and i was mentally preparing myself for a horrible time with this book.

To my absolute surprise, the first chapter got me interested. It has a rivals to lovers storyline but with older man and young college student. I was really expected for some kinky fetish thingy but that was the complete opposite. After reading more into the characters, i was hooked and very into the narrative. Contrary to belief, everything was set up really well and gives enough anticipation to build a realistic and believable romance between our protagonist. The writing style also aids the development of the romance too.

And can i say, i love this writing style! It describes the emotions of the characters really well and makes you have a better understanding of their thoughts and emotions in the moment. The literary devices used paints a very vivid picture of what the author wants you to see. The pacing is also really great. Everything feels like it has its own purpose and does not break the flow of the story.

In terms of the romance, i was expecting smut in this book, and i mean a lot of smut. But that is not what happened at all! The s3x scenes are not explicit and rather than describing the characters’ action (i.e: touching some cack or page xxx in the ACOTAR books), the author mainly focuses on the emotions of the characters. It really is very immersive and i can understand why they love each other!

Overall, this is a book i never NEVER EVER expected to enjoy as much. I can’t believe i had so a fun time reading this book, ITS INSANE! I cant believe i’m giving this book a 5/5 😰 Great book! If you want a fun romance with believable storyline and make your tiny heart squeal in joy, this is the book to read!

also fire whoever named this book and designed the cover cos the story deserves a much better name and cover. this is not it, honey 😫🤮

Pretty good writing but not for me.

Just on writing, plot, and characters alone I gave this three stars. I thought it was okay but not great. I really didn’t like that even at the end when Ian realizes that he wants to be with Maxie (who is carrying his baby) he’s still super against the idea of marrying her. Yes, his tune has changed in the epilogue but the climax was the time to leave it all out on the table and he was not into it. Maxie had to lead him by the nose to have them even live together. It just wasn’t it for me.

Now, two things that didn’t effect my rating because it’s they are personal things but I’d like to make note of…

1) I HATE it when authors give me a prologue but it’s actually a jump forward to the moment the two characters actually get together. WHY? Is it supposed to hook us? Because, for me, it just makes the 30% of the book I have to read through to get to that scene unbearably boring. Then when we do get there it’s the same thing word for word again.

I’ve DNFed books for that before just because I’m so bored since you already detailed exactly what was going to happen. I looked back and I’ve DNFed another of this same authors books for this before. So this is just something I’ll have to keep in mind if I pick up this author again.

2) This book is marketed as steamy and i don’t agree with that. It’s fine but it’s not what I expected. There were quite a few sex scenes but they weren’t detailed or graphic. You kind of had to infer exactly what was happening so if you’re looking for spice this might not be for you.

So I kind of expected more drama concerning the age gap and was pleasantly surprised there wasn’t really any.

There was a continuity error that she has every single penny budgeted and planned because she doesn’t have a safety net at the beginning and then is very independently wealthy by the end without any changes to her family or career.

This may be one of the worst books I’ve ever read. I certainly wouldn’t call it steamy. The sex scenes are so subtle that you have to reread the passage to see if you missed something. At one point, he refers to her vajayjay, as her “wilderness”. Also, the title? Pregnant with my Roommate’s Dad is wrong. Shouldn’t it be Pregnant BY My Roommate’s Dad?? This book was so incredibly dumb. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it.

Ian was a single father with a daughter in college. He’s worried that she may not graduate thanks to the bad influence of her roommate, Maxie. Maxie was just your typical starving student that knew how to budget and never forced alcohol down her friend’s throat. What was the dad’s problem anyway? His daughter was a grown adult. Just let her be.
When the girls get flooded out of their apartment, they have no choice but to move into Ian’s newest renovation. Maxie was actually a serious student and wanted to make something of her life. With not having the same privileges as her roommate or others on campus, she had to work extra hard with what little money and resources she had.

Ian and Maxie constantly have a battle of wills where the daughter was concerned. What happens when the girls throw a reckless party at his house?

After an explosive encounter, Ian realizes that perhaps Maxie wasn’t the villain he made her out to be. The whole thing’s full of passion and tension between the two.

One night, while Ian and Maxie were having of their heated arguments, only one thing to do comes to mind.

“This is what happens when girls misbehave. This is what happens when they lie.”

Big mistake?

“My body begged to teach Maxie all kinds of wicked lessons.”

With all their time spent together, it was no wonder that she got pregnant. Now what? Were all her plans shattered? And how will Ian react?

The love scenes were slow at times. They weren’t as steamy—they were mostly short and to the point. Still, this was a good, sweet read.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Maxie Lawson & Ian Weiss. When this book opens we learn these two are like oil and water. You see Ian believes he has a perfect princess and when her grades start slipping well it can't be his daughter's fault it has to be her roommates. So when he gets a call from his daughter telling him they have a lake in their apartment to her he goes. Even his heart can't take leaving Maxie out in the cold when there is no way they can stay at their place. So he rents the girls a home he is trying to flip and things seem to get a whole lot worse. Maxie has her own hardships she doesn't need her roommates dad making thing harder on her. You see both of her parents are gone, her boyfriend is not only cheating but unmotivated to get out of college, and her college nemesis just won't go away. The last one seems to be giving her the most trouble since Ian's little princess is pledging there and she is one of the sisters in the sorority. One party changes everything though. Can these two find a HEA or will the lines they have already drawn be the ones that keep them apart forever?

Another amazing story by this author. These characters will take you to places you never would have though of. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Maxie & Ian

Maxie becomes friends with Brandy in college and tries her best to keep her friend out of trouble. Brandy's dad Ian blames Maxie for his daughter's bad behavior because every time Brandy is in trouble Maxie is there. When their apartment is flooded and they needs some place to go Ian offers a house he is currently renovating until the finish college. Its during this time when he comes in to do work that he sees how wrong he was about Maxie. Sparks start to fly between them and soon he doesn't think he wants to resist being with Maxie. Maxie knows that she shouldn't be with Ian because of Brandy but something about him draws her to him. It was supposed to be something casual since Maxie would be leaving for an internship before they finish out their last year. However when she came back neither could stay away from the other and then she learned that she was pregnant. Would they have a chance to be together? What will Brandy's reaction be?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This story put a smile on my face. Maxie isn't your typical college girl. Her roommate Brandy is more what I except, in a sorority, parties a little too much and doesn't take school seriously. Ian, Brandy's father blames Maxie for Brandy's behaviour. He judges her without knowing her and makes assumptions that turn out to be false.

When Ian starts some ding time with her it doesn't take him long to realize he pegged her wrong. Maxie has always had a thing for her best friends father, she knew he didn't approve of her but never knew why. When she finds out she doesn't back down and calls him out on his assumptions. The sizzle builds from there, neither can resist their attraction, even though they don't know how to classify things.

I liked the timeline this story followed, nothing felt rushed. We have a few months for things to fit together and characters to developer in a more organic way. I would have loved to see more of Brandy coming into her own and breaking away from the party girl image.

Solid story all around.

I found this to be an enjoyable, time-absorbing read. I found myself wanting to finish it and put it down. I did find it to be a surprisingly good story, more than expected, after reading the blurb. Oh! Don't worry, it’s an age gap story, but, a whole lot more, on top of that.

You will find two friends, in college, one who finds a need to join a sorority, Brandy, and one that does not, Maxie. Brandy is very baby-faced and naive. Maxie is not. She had no choice, but to forge her way alone, for years.

Unlike, Brandy who has daddy, Ian, who is there to guide and clean up after her messes. Maxie cleans up her own. Ian has been a single dad, who loves his daughter, and tends to micro-manage her life. So, when she starts to tank, some of her classes. He starts following her on social media.

In his conclusion, after following, Brandy on social media, Maxie is the problem. MUST ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. This is now, his goal. Resulting in nothing, but havoc and discord between everyone involved.

But, finds the bickering with, Maxie hot, and Maxie is feeling it, too. See what happens when two lonely people, find more than they ever wanted, or expected.

Review: Pregnant with my roommate's Dad

Ian Weiss strick hardworking decent honorable man. He us also hot with piercing blue eyes. His daughter Brandy is in college. Her roommates name is Maxie she is a southern girl with green eyes, auburn hair and a georgeous body. Brandy seems to be struggling in her classes because being part of a sorority and it's social demands keep her pretty busy. When their apartment is flooded due to faulty pipes Brandy calls her dad who happens to be in construction. He goes by to help . He has an antagonistic relationship with Maxie. Blames her for not being there to help Brandy in making good choices. Amongst his dislike for Maxie there is a strong attraction to her. There's also an age gap. But Maxie doesn't bow down to him she meets him head on. He makes a move to show her respect and it turns into a sexual encounter. He regrets it because of Brandy and the age gap. They develop feelings for each other. Maxie gets pregnant . Thus story does gave an HEA. But, the moral of this story is never judge someone ! Loved this story. Already started on Brandy's story. First time reading Sofia T. Summer's books won't be the last one.

Pregnant With My Roommate's Dad was a quick paced read told in alternating chapters by Ian or Maxie. She's a college student and roommate of his daughter, Brandy. Ian and Maxie are always butting heads since he's under the assumption that all the partying Brandy does is thanks to Maxie. Little does he realize his daughter has gone a little wild and Maxie is the one trying to get her to be more focused on her classes and what's important.

There are secrets, home repairs that draw Ian and Maxie together, college classes, jobs, friends and family, burdens, betrayals, angst, anger, tears, laughter, breakups, loving and ultimately love. The story has a nice flow to it and the steaminess doesn't overtake the story which is what I like. There are some twists and turns but nice closure with the epilogue and hints at a happily ever after which I wish would have been included in the epilogue.

Ms. Summers is an authors whose books I've enjoyed especially when the steaminess is dialed back and the story shines through.

This is a story of enemies to lovers, age gap and even a little taboo thrown in because it was a friends dad. Once again Sofia has a way to write that the storyline flows flawlessly. There is just enough sex but it doesn't take over the story. Maxie and Brandy are college roommates and by all outward appearances seem to enjoy partying and enjoying college life to the extreme. So when Brandy starts failing classes her father Ian blames Maxie because it has to be her fault not his little princesses. He sees her as some poor country girl from the country. Little does he know that his daughter went a little wild when she turned twenty-one and Maxie is trying to reel her in and get her to take college serious. Then disaster happens which changes everything. Secrets revealed, twist, turns, betrayals, friendships threatened, drama, anger, frustration, angst, sadness, tears, breakups, heartache, laughter, forgiveness, hope, passion and love.

Grabbing Their Happiness -
Maxie was a sassy young lady, who strived to achieve success in her education, whilst looking out for her best friend, Brandy. Ian was a grumpy, sour-puss, single father, who still treated his twenty something year old daughter like she was a teenager, who was being led astray. Their interactions were always charged with sexual energy, but neither one of them acknowledged it, until they just couldn’t hold back anymore. Unfortunately, their secret trysts couldn’t stay secret forever, which meant they soon had to deal with the repercussions of their relationship.

This was a great heart pounding read, that was well written and had memorable characters, that made the story come alive. It drew me in at the beginning and had me so captivated, that I just couldn’t stop reading it once I started. I would definitely be happy to recommend this book for your next weekend read.

Maxie is roommates with Brandy. Brandy has gone a little party crazy. Maxie tags along to drag her home. Unfortunately, Brandy's father blames Maxie for every bit of trouble Brandy gets in. Ian and Maxie are also secretly fantasizing about the other. One night Ian shows up to confront Brandy, who goes off with sorority sisters to sleep off her booze. Ian takes Maxie home and suddenly begins to think there might be more to Maxie than her thought. They start spending time together as he renovates the house the girls are living in. Maxie and Ian can't keep their hands off each other and begin sneaking around behind Brandy's back. All you know what breaks loose when Brandy finds out and Ian and Maxie have to figure out if this is a HEA for them. Can Ian start over with a new love? Can Maxie get a family for herself? Great read. I read this one straight through.

Ian and Maxie . . .

** 3.5 Stars **
Maxie and Brandy are college roommates who appear to thoroughly enjoy the party life aspects of college maybe more than they should. The end-result is predictable and Brandy starts failing classes. Her father, Ian Weiss, assumes that Maxie is the one leading his daughter into this. In actuality, his daughter is the wild-child and Maxie is trying to tone her down a little.

Doing some home repairs, Ian and Maxie have more time together and they explore their feelings. When she ends up pregnant and Brandy finds out who the father really is and that her dad and Maxie have been hiding an affair, Ian acts like a jerk instead of taking some responsibility for his own actions. It’s painful watching an adult behave like a teenager. He even had to twist the knife by asking if she was sure the baby was his! At this point, I was tired of the theatrics and no longer invested in the story. (But yes, I did go back grudgingly to finish it.)

Maxie is a strong, independent person with her head screwed on pretty tight. But for some reason, her best friend's Dad hates her. Brandy is failing school, partying too much, and somehow that is Maxie's fault, or so Brandy's dad, Ian, thinks.

When Brandy and Maxie's apartment is flooded, Ian offers to let them live in a property he is fixing up. But while there, tensions between Maxie and Ian escalate until they hit a boiling point. Tempers flare and one things leads to another.

Maxie and Ian decide to keep things casual, and definitely a secret from Brandy. Besides, Maxie will be heading back home to North Carolina once she graduates in a few months anyways. Until poo hits the fan. Brandy finds out her best friend and her Dad are having an affair behind her back, and that she is PREGNANT with his baby.

The three of them work it out just in time for baby Eli to make it into the story <3

Maxi Lawson is going to Michigan for college because her parents met there. Only family left is Aunt Jane living in the family home in North Carolina.
She adores Brandy Weiss, her roommate, but worries about her. She's a lightweight with liquor, in a sorority running with the wrong crowd and not putting in enough studying to graduate on time.
Brandy's father Ian : protective father, blames Maxi for leading Brandy astray and can't fathom that his little girl is not perfect. He moves them into a house he's renovating.
This is a book about a daughter making bad choices, finding out he's so wrong about Maxi, and how attracted he is to her. It's a must read to find out what happens.

Wonderful love story.
I loved reading Ian & Maxie's forbidden love story forbidden as he is her best friend Brandy's dad. It was a love hate relationship to start with as he was blaming her for any trouble Brandy got getting drunk going out to parties, not doing well in college when it was the opposite until one day she snapped having enough of him blaming her. Gradually they broke down each others defences & eventually their feelings for each other got stronger until what should have been a happy surprise almost cost them the happiness I desperately wanted for them. I definately recommended reading this as once I started reading I couldn't stop.

I often struggle with college settings because they seem so far from my experience of college, but this one actually worked for me. Maxie just trying to graduate and get on with her life was very relatable. But so was her BFF going wild after her strict upbringing. Really the romantic relationship almost took a back seat to the BFF relationship, and the dad/daughter relationship. Normally this would be a negative, but both were done really well. Also the sex scenes were quite brief and non-descriptive - one step beyond fade to black really.
So while the whole pregnancy thing definitely is a plot point, it really is minor in comparison. This book managed to be more than the sum of its parts.

Written in Sofia T. Summers upbeat style Pregnant With My Roommates Dad is as all her other books one that will please. Not only does she take us through the obvious connection, Ian, her roommate's father, but she also delves into the relationship between the two best friend roommates. The roommates have an up and down relationship with Maxie not being involved in a sorority and Brandy, Ian's daughter, being involved with one. I enjoyed this book and once I started reading it had a hard time putting it down.

Pregnant With My Roommate's Dad by Sofia T. Summers is a forbidden romance featuring Maxie's roommate's dad, Ian. A hidden affair until Maxie told Ian she was pregnant. He reverted back to his old self and denied her happiness. How Ian handled the news, how he reacted at the hospital just before their baby was born is the highlight of the book. I recommend this book to anyone that loves an excellent romance that grabs your attention and keeps you interested from beginning to a delightful ending.

When the chemistry is right nothing will even stop cupids arrow from striking.

The odds were definitely against Ian and Jewel at every direction to looked at it but fate cant be avoided.

With a nemesis like Amber you just cant help falling in love with Jewel’s character as she put Amber in her place and that last speech to Amber was definitely
Oscar worthy and I hope all bullies out there get someone in there life like Jewel to help them see what is right in front of them.

The heroine is mature beyond her years so she's not concerned about their age gap. The hero is attracted to his daughter's friend & roommate but thinks she's leading his daughter astray. I wanted to smack some sense into him but it took him a while to get on the right page, would it be enough to make the fiercely independent capable beauty stay when she graduated. Now there's another reason to not let her go. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
