Rate this book
When an army base in west Texas has a series of thefts and murders that threaten to derail military budget negotiations, the new president sends Taylor and Whitaker to find the culprits and quietly end the situation before it can become public knowledge. When they arrive, however, the pair finds that theirs is not the investigation into the situation and that the previous attempts to stop the thefts failed because of criminals on the inside. Taylor and Whitaker are forced to work on their own to find not only the thieves and murderers but also how the other investigations became compromised, and they must do so against a ticking clock without anyone outside the military finding out what is really going on.

Book 7 and there's no drop off.

Travis Starnes has continued the saga of John Taylor and Loretta Whittaker with Danger Close. The plot moves at a good pace and the action is believable.

This is not a techno thriller, but good solid investigative work to solve several thefts and murders.

Buy it. If you haven't read books 1 thru 6, do so. They're worth the investment

Another great read. I have read all the John Taylor books in order and have never been disappointed. As usual, there is lots of action. Together, Taylor and Whitaker have to circumvent and tackle red tape, bureaucracy and the main threat. They have to spend as much time watching their backs as they do moving forward. Once again I have given the book 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Another great Travis book

The John Taylor series is one of my favorites. Readable, and believable, and in keeping with another “Travis” of old times.
