Banksy
Banksy je legenda. Banksy je ikona. Banksy je názor. Banksy je životní styl, člověk, umělec a vizionář, který se dostal mimo škatulky konvenčního myšlení i společnosti. Jeho obraz se vydražil za neuvěřitelných 29 milionů korun, aby se následně sám skartoval. Kniha o Banksym nikdy nemůže být obyčejnou knihou, stejně jako umělec, o kterém pojednává – je stejně výjimečná jako Banksy sám. Seznamte se s Banksym a s jeho uměním v detailech, které nám tento umělec dovolil poznat.

Really good book into the power of being a street artist. ****
“Platitudes are a far greater offense than honest criticism, however harsh.” – Foreword by John Brandler (p.8)
“Institutions are temples of the dictatorship of knowledge.” (p20)
A street artist is “.. a stray and wild creature of the street.” (p29)
“.. street art [are] powerful weapons of revenge. Indeed, they are the ‘revenge’ of the subclass of the ‘invisible’.” (p80)
“For Banksy, surveillance cameras are part of an impossible world, since they essentially perform a control function instead of being a guarantee of security.” ( p83)
“Even the donkey’s papers need to be checked in Palestine.”!

I love Banksy, but felt like the works I've seen on social media are generally a lot better than what's featured in this book. It doesn't really make the case the selected works are representative or anything, either. The accompanying text is pretentious and unenlightening, more just filler around the pictures.
