Erin: My goal in life was to ensure that restaurants met food, health and safety guidelines. Nobody deserved to get sick, or worse, because restaurants were negligent. Even the bossy guru of the Pizza Joint. He was a tyrant, and his reviews confirmed that 1) he was a tyrant, but 2) the pizza was delicious. I was ready to shut it down - but then I needed the Pizza Joint (and mainly Tony) to help me out of a situation. WHY? He was a beast. A red-headed sexy one, but still a beast.
Tony: The damn woman tried to shut my pizza joint down, all for the sake of some stupid laws that were always changing. She's prim and proper. Small and snooty. Nice and ripe. Sexy, but annoying, and I need her more than ever. Not just for my store. For me.
Xyla Turner was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She has always been a writer, even as a teenager, she wrote short stories and essays that won awards and nation-wide competitions. Xyla is an avid reader of romance novels and a sucker for sassy females and dominant males. She is a lifelong learner, High School Vice-Principal and a pretty good Auntie. Outside of reading, Xyla likes to spend time with her family and friends, experiment with dangerous adventures and travel. She writes different genres, but her favorite is romance.
I instantly liked Erin. Tony took me a minute to love, but when I did. . .I really did. :-) Tony be banging it out like nobody's business. :-) I also loved Tony's mother too. She added some deep spice to the whole dish. (pun intended)
Sadly, Erin and Tony were not a believable couple for me. They indeed had a hate-to-love story, but it was like a light switch flip for how quickly they fell in love. Then the added mention of the pandemic turned me off after the author's note since the story is set within a pizzeria.

The book was nice but the last couple of pages were basic. Xyla Turner is one of my favorite authors and I’ve read countless of her other works, but this one was a flip flop for me. lol The pages about how many orgasms Tony promises to give Erin and the line “as long as I can give you organs too” almost made me puke! Like come on. Steamy oral scene but the after glow pages were a bust and not a bust a nut good way either. Sadly, those pages of stupid cringe-y dialogue made the ending of the book feel rushed. Like Tony worked through his anger and trauma in the last 4 hrs of interning that Erin had to do and take da they’re getting engaged & the business passed inspection. Come on man! 😑 😒 🥴 no! But ok…a small yay for the HEA. Still love Xyla but this book gets like a 2.5/3 stars…my bad
Erin was by the book on everything she did. Tony was all up in his feelings and took it out on everyone. When you first meet someone you expect them to be nice, but Tony was none of that. That was apart of something she had to learn, but giving Tony a lesson was priceless. Then her life got turned upside down and the one she was teaching a lesson to helped her in away she never thought would happen in a million years. They knew the feelings where there but Tony still had all the anger in his heart. There chemistry was always on point and being friends was a great start for them. Book one is a great start to the lunchtime Chronicles.
Tony was a big rude brute or so I thought. What he really was, was hurt. He was hanging on to the hurt and betrayal of his ex and being Erin reminded him of her he showed her no mercy. I was glad when he accepted he had feelings for her but knew his ex had his mind in a mess. Erin just knew she was gonna get some vengeance from him treating her like he did but it kinda backfired being she ended up interning at his pizza joint. Tony's dad advice was the best thing for them. Friendship is the key.💘💘
Xyla Turner you have done it again!! I honestly loved Tony and Erin. He was truly a beast but in Erin he found his Belle. It was a fun short story, and the moment that they crossed the threshold from semi-enemy to friend the whole dynamic changed. Erin was sweet, loyal, and no pushover in the least. Tony was pure Alpha. He was aggressive, loyal, and a man who once he knew what he wanted there was nothing to stop him. I wish the book would have been longer, but all good stories (even short) must come to an end. All in all I fell in love with the characters and managed to get hungry lol.
5 star review for the restaurant and the relationship
Xyla certainly never disappoints so DeepnDish comes as no surprise. Tony does, his brusque exterior and IDGAF attitude, he is not afraid to admit comes from a place of pain. He knew who he was and what he had to offer. When Erin told him about himself heclustened and took the necessary actions, in his own way to be better. Theirs was the start of a beautiful friendship and the partnership of a lifetime.
Deep Dish is a delicious, delectable and tasty enemies to lovers. Tony and Erin are cute. He's an A'hole, and she gives sass and attitude. I enjoyed reading this exciting, charming story. Tony is the owner of the Pizza Joint that scared his joint will be closed down, and Erin is a health inspector that needs to complete her internship. They had a terrible encounter but needed each other in the end. Will Erin help that grumpy, angry man!!
This was a great short yet sweet love story. Tony and Erin didn’t hit it off at first broken hearts can make you see things wrong. But friendships that turn into love help you see the light. Enjoyed Tony’s parents and I believe everyone deserves this type of friendship/love. Looking forward to the next book!
Erin and Tony's friendship started off on a rocky road. His grumpy personality rubbed Erin the wrong way until she found out why he was so grumpy. It was the beginning of a friendship to last a lifetime. Tony had a good example to follow as his parents considered themselves best friends and they would not have it any other way.
First of all, I truly missed Ms. Turner in her time away living and improving her life. And I do believe it has her affected her approach to characters and their motivations which is much appreciated. This was short, sweet and perfect for the LC series. Mostly though I really liked the focus on healing and creating a romantic foundation on something solid. It was refreshing and though I’m not a personal fan or “hate to love” this worked in many ways for me. Especially since it was quick.
Tony has issues and unfortunately he took one out on Erin whilst she was in his shop. When the opportunity comes along for Erin to put Tony in his place, she jumps at it. Can Erin save Tony's joint and teach him a valuable lesson at the same time regarding his level of customer service? or are Erin and Tony going to crash and burn into a gooey pizza mess? A nice quick easy read.
Liz & Tony Sr. are adorable. I really enjoyed seeing the family dynamic and loved that Tony Jr. told Erin he wanted that same level of friendship with her. Erin & Tony's interactions started off a little shaky but in the end, he was a meal Erin couldn't turn down. I want a deep dish like him.
The chemistry between Tony and Erin was hot but I definitely wouldn't have taken the attitude that Tony dished out to Erin in the beginning!!!! He was like a wounded beast, lashing out in angry hurt. However, he needed to understand that sometimes the thing you want for your life isn't in the plans that God ultimately has for you!!!
This was a quick read that packed plenty of cute funny moments. I felt like I read a complete novel. Enjoyed Erin and Tony's chemistry. The meat of the story were the developed relationships around Tony. It helped you understand him more. I don't think I would've liked him without them. Excellent story. You won't be disappointed.
Great story but it was a little confusing and slow in the beginning but once you get into it you'll enjoy it. Loved the chemistry between Tony and Erin was smoking hot 🔥! Tony was a ass that didn't know how to deal with his pain but dear old dad was a great help. It was short and sweet with a little heat!
This is a great read and I highly recommend getting it. Getting over someone who hurts you takes patience and understanding. Allowing yourself to love again takes heart. Pick up this read and take the journey with a pizza shop owner and the health inspector who captured his eye.
Oh how I loved the first book of series #4! They say the customer service is always right. And should always be served with a smile. But poor Tony didn't understand that until Erin tried to shut his Pizza Joint down. Lucky for him there was a snag in Erin's plan. No spoilers! You have to read the book to find out all the juicy details. 😉
Loved the chemistry betwesn Erin & Tony. Great imagery and painting the picture for tbe reader. Could taste tge deliciious pizza. Secondary relationship between Ma & Tony Sr moved the story along. Funny and xexg like a Rom-Com. Loved that race was a factor but didn't dominate. Piping hot. Great read.
Tony tickled me in the beginning. I wondered how it was all going to be tied together. It was done so nicely. Erin stood up for herself against the tyrant and won. The definition of friends won me over. My attention was held from beginning to end. I enjoyed it. 🥳
This was a cute little read I like the chronicles there reads always are cute I love eran and Tony hearing was very understanding Tony Is cute I love this attitude and how it changed Sometimes love hurt Find the right person you get over it I'll definitely we don't know the chronicle
Even though Tony was an ahole, I'm very happy that this book portrayed his vulnerable side even if it was kind of messy LOL. I really like this story, very relatable. No one really talks about friendship in the sense of a relationship anymore so I'm glad that was portrayed in the story as well.
I wonder if Tony learned better customer service - lol. I know the main interest is the couple, but I'd be nice if the book gave the conclusion to his bad customer service.
I'm glad Tony got the help he needed to get over his fiancé that wasn't good enough for him.
Kudos to Erin for accepting him at his level and becoming his friend.
Tony was a dick because of heartbreak. He would have gotten just as good as he was given in the beginning and once he turned it around. She was just too kind.
This lunchtime left me not sure what the heck. The ending was what pulled it out for me. Tony kinda friends was just perfect.
Xyla Turner has started Season 4 off with 🔥🔥🔥. Tony was a total jerk at first towards Erin but once he started working on his past relationship issues, he turned out to be a pretty good guy who just loved deeply and was jaded by the wrong woman.
I loved everything about this book. Erin and Tony and their friendship was a great story line. Yes, I would recommend this book to friends. I rated it a 5 because of the storyline and the characters.
Whew Xyla you know I was sitting on ready with this one! Now you got me out here looking for a Tony Carpino lol. I’m glad that they became friends and fell in love with each other. Tony finally got his HEA.
Aww, Ms. Turner delivered the right one tonight! This tasty enemies to lovers tale hit the spot. Tony and Erin’s story had a little angst, a little crossed wires and a lotta heart!
Loved the story line...can't believe he threw her out with a pizza...loved the mom...like the evolution of the relationship..very relatable...the ex was a thot...glad the guy found his girl....
Erin and Tony a modern day love. I absolutely loved the story line and how the characters determine the guidelines for their relationship. A must read and yes the Lunchtime Chronicles are back!
