When a missing alien prince falls into my lap, wounded, hunted, and desperate for sanctuary, I do what any black-market queen of trades would do — I begin planning my mansion on easy street.
But if this impressive alien warrior doesn’t live long enough to claim his throne, the hefty reward he’s promising in return for my help will die with him — along with any real chance I have at saving my kid brother from a living hell.
Protecting His Highness, Kam of Frage, had better be worth all the trouble he’s causing — because if I have to trade every one of my hard-earned blackmail bribes and favors just to keep him alive…
I’m going to kill him!
ALIEN PRINCE PROTECTOR is a slow burn sci-fi romance that builds to a beautiful climax in which two traumatized souls find the strength to show their vulnerability in order to love and heal each other.♥
Harlyn Moxie is self-diagnosed goofball who writes happy endings for smart, kickass heroines and super-hot alien heroes who are determined to prove their worth when it comes to love and war...
Her particular brand of original and creative sci-fi romance comes with a promise of true love, humor, and heat — so prepare to be entertained when you escape with one of her books!
In a former life, she was a nurse. That's where human resilience made its mark upon her, instilling a deep affection in her heart for underdogs and rebels, which is greatly reflected in her characters and their stories.
This book opens up with the life and death struggle of Frangan Prince Kam who is in sub-zero space with a suit not correctly fitted to protect him from the temperature. He is literally freezing to death but blood loss may kill him before he freezes. He is badly injured and shivering so hard that he risks dislodging his space boots from the body of the ship as he walks on his broken ankle, thankfully frozen numb. Despite his severe injuries, he is using the last of his reserves to avoid capture. But the garbage hatch is locked tight. If he is not brought inside now, he cannot survive much longer. He sees a cleaning girl enter the room dancing and singing. She is his only hope but oblivious to his pounding until he sets off a shield alert.
When the frozen guy gestures that he has money, Emery decides to let him come onboard. When he tries to hug her, his frozen suit burns her arm and she zaps him with a taser. He releases his helmet and she sees his golden-white hair is singed black from burns and he is obviously badly hurt. He is trying to negotiate a payment for secret healing him in secret without telling her who he is, but he is close to death, is not effectively communicating, and darkness is closing in. It’s up to her now.
Emery calls in her roommates: Luana has paramedic training, Eden has triage nursing skills, and Maeve has life-sustaining pre-cybernetics knowledge; but when she cuts off the space suit and sees all the damage to him, she’s not sure they can save him. Each injury seems life-threatening! She is afraid to break away the ice all over his body because it seems to be the only thing keeping him from bleeding out! But his body is shutting down from the extreme cold. Her friends start working on him, more and more horror being discovered, and he wakes up. He transfers a payment to her, and seeing his finances, she knows she can be paid enough to get her brother, Ethan, away from the children’s home on Trade Station 67 and safe from the Syndicate.
When they get to the part of having to warm his body but not quickly, Emery is tasked with that delicate operation. Will they get him healed? Can they find enough blood to restore what he has lost? There is so much more left of his journey if he survives He was betrayed by his own brother, and he needs to make things right. And he is also thinking about the woman who is trying to save his life. Can he ever leave her behind?
This is a fantastic story, well-written and amazing. I loved the fast pace and non-stop action. I loved the feisty and fearless Emery who never backs down from a challenge. And I loved Kam, with all the suffering his life has brought him, he is such a good hero. Their bantering kept me laughing even through the tough parts! Grab your copy and you will be compelled to read this book to the end. It is truly amazing!
Another well written story that's part of the series of The Space Marine Hospital. Prince Kam has been injured and is almost frozen to death while trying to get onboard for help. He happens to see a women through the window dancing ad singing. Emery is helping Eden and Maeve to work on all the damage that he sustained. Such a fast paced, action story, with plenty of twists and turns, adventure, love, passion, and steam. Their snarky remarks kept me laughing through some of the scenes. The storyline has a beautiful ending for Emery and Kam who find the strength to heal, love and help each other. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The third in Harlan Moxies’ Space Marine Hospital Series is a bit of a different spin - no cyborgs this time, just an alien prince in a world of hurt and a human woman with a painful past and the means to protect the prince. Kam and Emery have some serious hang ups and some smouldering chemistry, so while it takes them a long time to complete the deed, their dance is long and intense. This whole series has been terrific - I love seeing all the ladies of the Foxhole find their happily ever afters, Em most of all.
Kam has had pain used to toughen him up all his life, which is expected of a Fragen. He has the scars to prove how tough he is. But can he control the toughness when he meets his human queen and needs to fight his brother for the throne ? Another way of looking at love from a different angle. Slow start but the story gets moving and the reader is never sure what will happen next. Like in a chess game.
This is another great read for the series and a real page turner for me :) Fast paced, the story of Emery and Kam is full of action, snark, humour, twists and intense chemistry leading to love. I enjoyed following them on their path to an HEA and can't wait for the next book in this unique series.
Definitely a different alien romance and I liked it! The banter between the MCs was funny and fast paced. I felt bad for the alien prince but I understood why the female MC was on the defensive. Overall a witty, fun read.

This is the third book in this series called Space Marine Hospital. The story flows well, the characters are likeable and fit well together. I am going to go back and read the previous ones.
So great! Two headstrong individuals, one alien and one human. As she helps him, can he teach her to love herself. I was immediately immersed in a magical world. Loved it.

Harlan Moxie has created such a fun world with unique characters you just can’t help rooting for. I really like her style of writing. I really loved this story and can’t wait to find out what happens next!
I think this story needs trigger warnings for historical child abuse and sexual abuse - both main characters are seriously damaged and have to work through their various personal issues before they can actually think about a relationship with each other. The individual development in this one is epic, especially the male lead, Kam’s, awareness of the need for development and determined pursuit thereof.
Emery, the female lead, has been a secondary character in the previous books in this series and has been presented as hard-nosed on the surface with a heart that she keeps as well hidden as possible. Here we see this to be true and the reasons why she keeps it hidden are shown.
This story is dual POV, well written, and deeply emotionally moving - I teared up several times reading this story on behalf of BOTH main characters, regarding both their histories AND their current struggles to overcome them. This story ends with a HFN. I sincerely hope the author knows where she’s going and that the series as a whole will end up with a HEA
