When bound by duty, love can become marred by heartbreak and pain. For Dagda, the veils are parted in more ways than one during Samhain.
Dagda: A New Dawn is a complement to the Daughter of Winter series, which draws you into a world of Celtic mythology, powerful Druids, dark magic, and fated mates.

Corina Douglas lives in New Zealand with her husband and four kids. If she's not running her indie editing business, Burning Legacies Publishing, she can be found exploring the forest, doing that stretchy yoga thing, or with her nose in a good book.
She writes dark fantasy romance stories based on Celtic mythology, with a special focus on Scottish, Irish, and Welsh folklore. Her stories are full of emotional punch, fast-paced action, and morally grey heroes.
Dagda! My favorite! You can just tell when a writer is passionate about what she writes. 'Dagda: A New Dawn (Daughter of Winter)' is a wonderful addition to the series and an insightful look at the 'good god'. I love Ms. Douglas's passion for Celtic Mythology and her inspiring stories. I highly recommend this short story and her whole series.
A brilliant short story. Love the sceneries and the messy mixtures of emotions portrayed in the book. It really is an elegant take on grieving when relationships fall apart and how a broken heart can find new dawn.
Such an emotion-rich, exquisitely described read. It was my introduction to the books in this universe and I look forward to reading more. I felt what Dagda felt. His angst in the (*spoiler) custom where his wife - that he loves- tended to duties that drove him mad, and the way he handled the temptation right in front of him. I couldn’t fault him… I just had to finish it as soon as I started. Truly enjoyed the story.
Reading the Daughter of Winter series you’re introduced to many Celtic dieties, some on a surface level, and some more deeply. Understanding how the relationship between Dagda and Morrigan began to fail allows us to see both dieties as people and not just the product of war and prophecy. Can’t wait to see where this story will lead us.
Dagda: A New Dawn by Corina Douglas is a wonderful complement to the Daughter of Winter series. The author pulls you into a world of Celtic mythology and deities. I highly recommend this book and the series.
I enjoyed this short story, which centers around Dagda on the night of Samhain.
He is feeling out of sorts and heart sore as he knows his wife Morrigan is performing her duty of finding out whether the new Irish King can handle bedding her and he's becoming tired of having to share her.
While he's enjoying some mead and trying to drink his cares away, he comes across a woman he's admired from afar for many years and he'll have to decide whether he wants to continue to get to know this woman or stay on the path of constant heartache.
I don't come across many fantasy stories about this particular Celtic God, so I was intrigued, and I'm glad I read it.
Trigger warnings: war is mentioned, loss of a limb, infidelity
Another fantastic story belonging to the Daughter of Winter series. I would love a full story on Dagda, just as much as I am loving meeting all the characters in the Daughter of Winter series.
Another beautifully written Celtic gem. I've read and loved every book Corina has written and this was no exception. Dagda is one of my favourite siblings of Cailleach and I loved reading more about him.
