Leonard O'Neal had always been notably short--for a man, that is. That did not prevent him from becoming an attorney and it did not prevent him from marrying a tall and beautiful woman. But Leonard carried a secret. He secretly preferred to be a woman named Laura. And when his wife discovered that secret, she did something unexpected and extraordinary. She happily encouraged her spouse to be Laura more and more, until at last there was no Leonard at all, only the lovely Laura--who happened to be just the perfect height, for a girl. And that was just the beginning of a process of total transformation and transition, with some unexpected and yet delightful consequences. Rated "E" for Explicit!
Short Stuff: A Transgender Tale (Kindle Edition) by Diane Woods I do not know where to start. The feminizing part of the story worked because of the care and love I could feel. The story took many twisty turns. At times I laughed. At times I was so angry. At times I was frustrated. At times I cried and, did I say I cried. The book indeed moved me. I liked the details. I loved the relationships. I tried to get ahead of Diane (the author) I never could. There was always just one more thing. I would recommend this book to anyone, any time. I read this on Kindle Unlimited when I finished the last page I bought this on Kindle. This 5 stars and then some. I know for some the topic might push you away. I think it is worth taking a chance.
This story actually had a good plot with very believable characters. The story was long enough to thoroughly develop the main characters as if you felt like you knew them personally.
At some point , early on I was trying to figure out the direction it was leading to when everything feel into place. Be patient at the begin to see how logical everything Turns out!!!
This a story that carries through the first year of the Pandemic. It will useful when younger readers coming up can get a feeling for these times. Good character development, only mildly disbelievable, but in a good fantasy read.
though the first half of the story didn’t really interest me, when it became clear Leonard really WAS Laura within, the story changed for me.
I’m uninterested in the sexual aspect, as in other good books in this genre romance really takes the heart out of the story, which, for me, is a personal one of transition. With supporting characters but this felt off as if the first half of the book didn’t fit with the second half and the death was never explained as it should have been, postpartum? Don’t know she ignored that entire, huge, segment of the book’s natural arc.
The ending got closer to real world but then began to wander back into the erotic aspect, which is such a small part of this story, I wish Diane had noticed that while writing it and made it what it could have been. Still an interesting story.
The story is decently written but there are too many aspects of the story that are not what I prefer to see/read in this genre, so ultimately it was not the book for me.
