Fun to read, but rather simplistic regarding the Kurds/politics. The "depth" of the book seemed shoehorned in. Would have preferred a little more blending of the point of views. I did like where the first terrorist shot himself instead of blowing up the FBI agents. It kind of backed up his point that it wasn't so much an ideological issue for him, but one of exposure of the horror of the consequences of a political decision. Made it less black and white overall. His character is more rounded, whereas the other terrorist was a little bit too melodramatic and less fleshed out. It was a bit sad & amusing how they said they weren't terrorists, since by definition they were. It seems to me that most terrorists want as much attention as payback. And their aim was essentially political.

A strong storyline with constant action makes this an exciting thriller. A plane hijack situation is complicated by the capture of the pilot's family back home. Though I found this a great story I felt I didn't get close to the main characters. The one I felt best drawn and most believable was Jo, the flight attendant. For the sake of the story, though, I can only call this a good read.
I think that this book helped me to remember that teamwork wins- every time.Even in the darkest of times, connecting and communicating is the best way forward A strong start to this book- lots of tension. The middle slowed a little but introduced context surrounding decisions made. The ending, Hmmm. Perhaps a bit Pollyana??
A great concept poorly executed. Unconvincing character motives, copycat scenarios, and reads like it's been scripted as a made-for-television movie. A few good moments and a little suspense earned the second star.
