His secrets might get me killed. A territory fight leads to kidnappings. I knew bikers were dangerous, but I didn’t think it would end in this disaster.
My obsession with this mountain of a man is totally life-consuming. Intense, secretive, dangerous, basically everything I should stay away from.
He warns me of his broken past, but I’m not scared of rough edges.
I challenge him every step of the way. He won’t tolerate my disobedience.
His silence pushes me into the arms of a deceiving enemy and I don’t know who to trust...
The sexy alpha biker that won’t open up, or the chiseled-faced prospect that says too much.
The wrong choice makes it all erupt. My savior ends up being the man I didn’t trust. Because just like his brothers in the club, he would die before they ever took his property.
2.5 stars. This book I think had good bones, but the execution left me questioning. This is only from Misty point of view, which is fine except that everything out of her mouth is a question and even if someone have her an answer she still “doesn’t understand”. She claims to be interest in the MC life style but then says she doesn’t understand why club business can’t be discussed. She supposedly really likes Zerk enough to be his “sweetie” but then listens to one guy talk bad about him and questions everything she knows about him and the club. The author hints to some hurt in her past but never addresses her lack of trust. Then in the end Zerk has the nerve to comment that what he loves about her is that she doesn’t question everything as if she hasn’t been doing that the WHOLE book, that made me giggle and roll my eyes. Apparently I was reading a different book. But I also did not like the fact that Misty gets attacked at her first party but blows it off to stay with Zerk, then the very next day just lets him go buy her a bunch of things with no argument or questions about why. Again, good theory of a book but not well executed.
This was a refreshing style of MC story as it was different from the usual MC romance. That being said, I didn’t feel anything between the couple, and I would have liked more than one POV from the couple.
Truthfully, Zerk and Misty don't have a romance story at all. One would think he didn't always like his woman, and he certainly wasn't very affectionate with her either.
I found the couple to be very one-dimensional with no character growth or relationship growth. I'm shocked Misty stayed with Zerk when he mainly was a jerk, unemotional 99.999% of the time, and was secretive a lot. However, he does explain more later, and we know his “sob” story when we never learn Misty’s story at all. Also, I was not too fond of the fact that her BFF fell off the pages later on. Even the MMA training and Jack at the gym fell off the pages. It was just used to get them to be in the same space again.
Misty was gullible, seemed like an airhead at times, asked too many questions for someone who was into bikers and wanted to be a part of the lifestyle- like shouldn’t she have been researching it to know more? And finally, she put up with a lot of BS from Zerk, but then again, she was too obsessed with him and felt like a stalker at the start. There was a lot of receptiveness of how she found him hot and attractive and so on… and she mentions how she trusted him when that was BS too. She didn’t trust him a lot.
Misty loves the look of the bad boys! Her boyfriend is cheating on her and when she finds out she is not happy to say the least and punching his lights out brings her to the attention of biker bad boy Bazerker, Zerk for short. Bezerker is a simple guy, he says what he means but won’t discuss Club business and that pushes Misty away. When the rival MC gang reappears, Misty is drawn in by them and put at risk but Zerk considers her his property and is determined they get that message loud and clear. This is shaping up to be a fantastic series, MC 1% live by their own rules but in their own way they are the good guys! They need special ladies who will love them and stay loyal. You really feel as if you understand the club much better as a lot of the biker language is explained for those of us not in the know. Can’t wait for the next book. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
Misty finds herself between Red Spades MC member Zerk and rival club prospect Ghost. Misty intriguing obsession with Zerk can only lead to heartbreak with the distant man but when Ghost comes along things take a spin. Was Zerk pushing her away for the right reasons? what happens when shes in the arms of the enemy? This is well written filled with suspense desires, action and more! the story line draws you in and holds your attention through out. the characters emotions draw you in to their story and make you never want to leave!

Zerks Mark is a great beginning to this new series. It's Beserker and Misty's story and by no means is it slacking in anything. Misty Henson is strong, capable, independent woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. Just so happens after seeing him one time, she decides Zerk is what she wants a she's gonna go after him. Little does she know, Zerk saw her too, and he not only goes after what he wants, he takes it, and he's takes her. This a relatively fast paced read and completely enjoyable.
Misty is a small town girl, stuck in a dead end job. She spies a guy at the MMA fight she and her gf go to. Misty then decides to stalk the guy. The guy being a MC member. Somehow she's able to not get herself killed during her stalking, then she believes everything some of guy tells her. Getting herself kidnapped in the process.
This story is told completely from the h POV. Author does not seem to understand the first thing about MC. Definitely not worth reading anymore in the series.
This was a fairly compelling take on a MC romance. I liked that the heroine was into learning self defense and was generally a strong character. That being said, she made some questionable decisions that did not align with that strength. Honestly, after almost being raped in the middle of one of his club parties, she should have bailed HARD on any kind of relationship with him. She later goes on to make a huge TSTL decision that she could have easily died from, but honestly wouldn’t have been in at all if she wasn’t involved with Zerk.

I really enjoyed this book but I was quite annoyed at how easily Misty could be persuaded against Zerk and the Red Spades. One of the biggest issues for me was the story coming only from Misty. I think if we heard more from Zerks's point of view that the story would have been more cohesive. I also think that Zerk could have shown his softer side to Misty earlier in the book. A big strong and protective biker with a softer side only for his woman is always heartwarming.
What grown woman goes to a biker party to meet a man, ALONE? To almost being raped, hearing the guy you like call another female a b*** and threaten to physically assault her and she stays there. To know that the guys are okay with raping women. Seriously. No chemistry between main characters. kept waiting for something to happen. Bore.
Misty & Zerk hit it off from the start. This story kept me well interested. Misty in drawn to zerk from the moment she sees him. This book has action & twists throughout. Can a small town girl & a biker make things work? Their lives are so different but when there is this much attraction it’s got to work out.
This is a new author to me and new series. Misty spots this hunky biker at an MMA fight. Berserker or Zerk belongs to the Red Spades MC club. A brilliant read, trouble from a rival club the Dog Soldiers, sexy parts. Loved this book looking forward to the next in the series
The first book in the Red Spades MC series this is a new Author to me, the story held my interest throughout. I wonder what is going to happen next? I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This had potential but there was so much left unsaid and so much double explaining that wasn't needed. The h got kind of annoying and I just wasn't excited about her. Like I usually am in books like these...was all just meh 😐
This is my first time reading this author and I wasn't disappointed. Great story line real characters. Great chemistry story draws you in smoothly and effectively. Take a chance and you won't be disappointed
I liked the strong, fiesty, kickass female lead character. Zerk was definitely a bad boy biker but I liked his character. Enjoyable story and I'm looking forward to the next book.
He may have looked like one of ZZTop but I really liked how he didn't talk much but conveyed so much. There was tons of sexual tension and the action was solid!
I enjoyed the story. The characters are likeable. Gives you a different look at the mentality of mc. Violence is something I don't like however exists. I liked how she empowered herself by learning things. The threat of rape a couple of times is just scary.
With a name like Zerk, that could have been way worse. He was actually very much in control of himself and his emotions. The beginning of a great tale of MC guys.
Think I am going to,like the Red Spades series. The book was a complete read but made you want to read the next one. Interesting characters and good story line.
Thank you for sharing you vision on your book’s life. I really enjoyed reading it. I was the most “orgasm” book I’ve read. Thank you again. ~Ulu(Hawaii)
