Talk about a bad day: This morning, I was told that I have a terminal illness, and a few hours later, I was arrested for treason. Now I’m on my way to a super max prison.
En route, the transport gets hijacked by pirates and comes under heavy fire. Before I can process that, I’m abducted onto a living ship in search of its missing pilot.
Surrounded by mercenaries and killers, I face a surprising offer: become the ship’s soul, and I’ll be cured. The catch? I need to bond myself with the other two pilots—the ship’s mind and heart—who are convinced that I’m their mate.
I have to make my decision fast: the pirates will be back any minute to reclaim their missing bounty, and unless I decide to accept the offer and join up with a pair of criminals, we’re dead in the water. Of course, without the power of the bioship to heal me, I’m as good as dead anyway. So what’s a doomed Earth girl to do?
Bonded is a stand-alone sci-fi romance that is full of love and hope even during the bleakest of times. It is the first book in the EARTH 4040 series. You will find protective alpha males, strong-willed females, instalove, and happily-ever-afters.
Not what I was expecting. Even though it's a two part cliffhanger, with no ending, it's still feels incredibly rushed. It feels like it's trying to stuff 20 pounds of story into a 5 pound bag. I thought maybe I missed a book, and this wasn't the first. Where did the guys come from exactly and where are they headed to? I understand that the author has other series that are set in this same universe. Perhaps this book was a bad place to start.
The head and the heart guys are one dimensional, simple, and almost interchangeable. One is a little more emotional and beefy than the other, thats all.
Priya spends most of her time bonding with the ship instead. Ship is the most interesting character, honestly. Priya is a little bit of a blank slate, doing whatever is necessary in a scene to keep it moving. I will say that I enjoyed all of the kindness and consent that goes on between the 4 of them, though the consent feels a liiiiittle iffy during the only sex scene.
It strangely felt like Priya was going to bond with the Captain of the ship, rather than the head and the heart. They keep hyping him up as a good guy, and describing his appearance. Priya researches about him and his species, surprised by what she finds. Priya blushes and reacts to seeing him shirtless. I'm sitting here thinking, "Great, they are adding him in for the next book as another partner!" The description for the next book suggests a new, m/f pairing for the captain. What? This was all just set up for the next book?
I really enjoyed this new world with live ships and dangerous villains. We're following a human gal that gets rescued and finds out she is the 'soul' of the ship and needs to bond with the heart and the mind of the ship... ;P There was a lot going on in this first installment and I really can't wait for the next book to see how things will continue. Expect to meet a ton of interesting characters and cute bots while getting swept away with the steamy romance that ensues.
This story was an interesting idea that could be a great book/series but wasn't executed well. I did like the bio ship and the triad as the pilot. Priya though was TSTL most of the time. Sadly the ship never got a nickname and the MFM's dynamics were predictable and without any development because bonding solved everything. Fav Quote: “Do you like being here, Priya?” I knew they were robots, but only a monster would squash a question like that. “I definitely prefer it to where I was. Besides, this place makes me feel safe. Like I’m coming home.” It was the truth, and there was no reason for me to deny it. “We are glad you feel this way. We want you to feel at home.” Star ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I can't stop daydreaming and telling everyone about this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A great read with all the feels. I would read again. ⭐⭐⭐ - I liked the book but wouldn't it read again. ⭐⭐ - Usually in the DNF pile or I suffered until the end for whatever reason. ⭐- Just no.
I love this story of a human woman waking up after being captured by aliens to be sold as a slave. Priya was chosen by a living ship to become one of its three pilots. These living ships need to be bonded to three people, one to be the mind , one to be the heart and the last to be the soul that melds them together. Priya was the soul they had been looking for. Vryek, the mind and Ruzan the heart feel the beginnings of their bond at first sight and do their best to convince Priya that she is perfect. Priya feels lost since she has never heard of these types of bonds and she doesn't want to mess things up by not being able to pilot the way everyone expects. Beside she had learned last month that she only had a short time to live since she had a health condition this is killing her.

Ruzan (H) and Vryek (H) are two Rakoths who serve as the heart and mind pilots of the ship they are on. They find an injured Priya (h) inside a medical pod floating in a debris field in space. They quickly recognize her as the missing piece of their triad - she can help them complete the pilot relationship with the ship. Priya isn't sure about wanting her role with the two males and the ship to be permanent. There's lots of action and adventure as they progress forward with one another - the sexual side takes some time to build up, though there are intense feeling right from the start. This is an HFN and it will be interesting to see where things go.
This is the start of a new series and features a sentient ship requiring three pilots. The first two are Rakoth warriors. In this story they find their third, a woman they rescue from a debris field. The characters are well developed but I didn't realize this had a cliffhanger. I'm looking forward to the next book when I'll get more of the story. There is a lot of world building and we are introduced to our main characters in this. The two alpha males are happy to find their third, and expect her to just fall in, but she's not quite as sure that she wants to play her role. Slow burn romance with a lot of warm up. Enjoyed it and hope to meet more warriors in the future.
Books like this make you think we would really be on the bottom of the food chain in the universe. Apparently humans were not as protected as one might think. So they finally find the last piece they needed for the ship to be complete but Priya is hesitant because of a lie she was told. One thing I was waiting on was the name decision but think I understood the “they” reference. This was a great book and can’t wait to read the captain’s story.

A great start to this new series. It has a very unique and intriguing concept. The idea that a bonded triad is needed to pilot a biological and cognitively aware shop. Each has a function acting as the ship’s Mind, Heart, and Soul. The Soul (FMC) being what unites them. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Fantastic alien sci-fi romance and this is Priya’s, Vryek’s and Ruzan’s story. Priya was in a stasis pod floating around in space she is saved by the guys who are the heart and mind of the ship they needed a soul to complete the bond with the live ship and that soul is Priya their mate their trio and she completes them. This is a fantastic story it ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next book Adrift and I recommend this book.
The story is really good for the most part, but the ebook seems to have been put up without any editing. Lots of misspellings and words that seem off given how they are used or maybe spell check didn't work that day. I am looking at reading the next book. Like I said the story is good.
This was a good sci-gi alien romance story that I enjoyed. It had drama, suspense, intrigue, danger, adventure aliens and romance. The characters were likable with a good story ended to fast. I liked that the ship was living I’d like to read more.

So I didn’t hate this. I didn’t love it either. It was ok. I think it had great potential and I would have liked to have seen more character development. I don’t think I will bother to continue with the series. I’m not that desperate to find out what happens next.
This book has a really intriguing concept with living ships and people that are the heart/head/soul. I liked the characters. The story was interesting but had a lot going on. I haven't read anything else in this series/world, so I felt like I was thrown into the thick of things. 4 stars

This is has been intriguing with the notion of bonding with a ship. The characters were different and since I want to see where the story leads, I will be looking forward to the next installment.

I like the fact that the characters are well put together but aren’t completed yet, so the next story will keep adding more and more to the whole series.
Interesting story, there is action, adventure and intrigue. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
