Mia Thorne’s midlife makeover is going better than she ever expected. She has a new job, a new relationship, a new garden—well, never mind the garden. She doesn’t even mind that she’s back to pounding the pavement to generate ad revenue for the local newspaper. Unfortunately an important meeting with the marketing director of the Newberry Playhouse generates the wrong kind of buzz when a beloved actress is found dead the day of her big performance. The murder triggers a ghostly rumor that had been put to rest long ago. With suspects crawling out of the seemingly haunted scenery, Chief Tuck and Detective Fairfax have their hands full and Mia is only too happy to pitch in. Can Mia solve the case and help the show go on or will the final curtain fall on the historic playhouse?

Kiss My Ash is Book 4 in the Bloomin' Psychic Series by Annabel Chase.
I absolutely LOVE and can relate to this series that is an incredibly well written paranormal women's fiction series.
Mia is coming into her powers and as much as it scares her, she is trying to embrace it. While attending a meeting at the local theatre trying to see an ad, there is a murder and Mia is right in the middle of it. I love how she uses her psychic powers to try and get to the bottom of the murder mystery.
The romance between Mia and Dane is moving along nicely. The feelings that the author expresses about Mia in a new relationship in her 40's is spot on and also hilarious. I could so RELATE to this character and all she is going through on multiple levels.
I do not usually cry reading Ms. Chase's books, but there were a couple of parts that were so real that I found myself crying in the best possible way.
I also REALLY love Mia's friends Patrick and Scarlet they are such a great support system and not just secondary characters to me.
This book was such a fantastic mystery with romance and it truly was a delight to read.
I was captivated by this series from the first book, and watching Mia grow has been like seeing a friend blossom. When Mia arrives at the local theater to discuss possible advertising she finds herself in the middle of yet another murder mystery crime scene, with far too many suspects. It seems almost everyone had a reason to loathe the dead actor. And almost everyone had opportunity, including the actor ghost who never got her moment under the lights. All this while Mia’s powers and confidence slowly grow, and her relationship with Dane charmingly unfolds and strengthens.
I’m taking Virginia’s words, because they seem fitting for this fourth book. Mia learning to live with what she is, sure, but more importantly, to embrace what she is, is pure pleasure coupled with a murder investigation, a fat cat, a moody mug, a hot lawyer, and a perhaps not so stupid hot detective. And great, great friends.
This is an entertaining psychic/paranormal mystery series. Meyer was an executive in New York City with a boyfriend who she was about to become engaged to or at least she thought. Then her world fell apart. Her wicked boss fired her and her prospective fiancé dumped her for a younger woman and kicked her out of their apartment. Meyer was fit to be tied and had no place to go. Her mother called her and let her know that her great aunt had actually left her in her will a small house in a small New England town. With nothing else going on no job no prospects Meyer took a chance and took everything she had and moved to the little small town and moved into her new home. As time goes by she loves more and more about her great aunt but she had not really known because her mother kept her out of that side of the family. Her great aunt was actually a psychic phenomenon in the little town. Meyer actually had psychic abilities as a child but her mother made her ashamed and hide them. Now that she is living in the small town in her great aunts home those psychic abilities are starting to come back to the forefront. At the age of 42 many things are changing in her life. She has a new boyfriend new job and a new life. She also inherited her great aunts feisty old cat. She has new friends and new adventures. She also happens to end up involved in every mystery in town and helps solve them. As her psychic abilities grow she takes on a little bit more responsibility and the fun gets even better. Check it out
ok but not as entertaining as the prior books in the series. A little too much focus on sexual innuendos and attractions and not enough on her garden. I will consider reading the next one when it comes to.

This book is one of my favorites in the series because it brings home the old adage, “Never judge a book by its cover”. People aren’t always what they seem. The crotchety guy hides a gooey center. The prepper isn’t as closed off as he seems. And sometimes the diva has a generous spirit for family; she’s just fighting for her spot and doing the best she knows how. Almost everyone in the book is three-dimensional. I guess that’s what I love best about Ms. Chase’s writing. Plus, throw in a pig cup with negative vibes, a grouchy cat named Ophelia, two great supportive friends, and a love interest, and you’ve got a good book.
A favorite highlight for me: “I turned to Wilson and Gloria, the two plants that lived on the windowsill, ‘I need the money, okay? Don’t judge me.’ The plants reeked of condemnation.”
Filled with humor, suspense, and great heart, it’s a really good read. Although these are better read in order, you can read them out of order as well since background is provided.
“This is who you are. Love yourself unconditionally and don’t get caught up in the ‘should’ or ‘would like.’ Just be.”
Each book in this series keeps getting better. I adore how open Mia now is about her psychic abilities. It is so refreshing compared to how she used to hide and not accept it. She is embracing who she is and is learning that she never needs to apologize for being herself.
Mia’s relationship with Dane is inspiring and gives hope to those who may be struggling in a relationship or struggling to find a good relationship.
Finally Chief Tuck makes her an unofficial consultant! Took long enough but I’m glad it is now officially unofficial.
I love Mia’s friendships with Patrick and Scarlet. They make me smile every time they have an interaction.
The mystery was a good one for this book, I enjoyed it more than the others. And the perpetrator surprised me!
So good! Mia is really coming into her own and embracing her psychic powers. As she does they grow in strength and so does her garden at home. She even helps Patrick out of a jamb as he's unable to cleanse an object of it's negative energy. The ever so slow romance between her and Dane is progressing as well and I foresee wedding bells in their future at some point. I am really enjoying this series. I don't think it will topple Starry Hollow or Spellbound as favorites, but it's up there with the Federal Bureau of Magic series. Love these little paranormal cozy mysteries.
Somehow, this was the point at which the series just clicked into place for me. I think something about Mia's job at the paper and her competence and justification for getting out and talking to people (as a tangent to her sales pitches) made the world settle, as opposed to having her somewhat aimless and out of place. It just works now, both on the mystery level and the psychic level, and even her home life level. (As an aside, though, is Derek actually intended to be a potential romantic rival? I'm never quite sure because there is just zero appeal there.)
If Mia Thorne is nearby, a corpse is sure to show up. This time, the star of the play being put on at the local playhouse is murdered. Oh yeah, did I mention that the playhouse is haunted? If that weren’t enough, Patrick has an object that he can’t cleanse. Can Mia solve, the murder, help Patrick, and help the ghost haunting the playhouse move on? Buy the book and find out. 👏👏👏👏
I'm really enjoying this series! It's so refreshing to have a main character like Mia, who is actively working on her personal development and learning to embrace herself while developing great, healthy relationships. This latest book has her really coming into her own, both as an individual and as a psychic. The murder mystery gives her a little space this time, as the main suspect is not as close to home. I love the dash of humor. Such fun reads!
I didn't think I would enjoy a series about a psychic, but I loved this one and can't wait for #5 to come out.
Mia's powers are developing quickly and her boyfriend Dane is being incredibly supportive. In this book Mia helps to solve the murder of a stage actress and help another move on to the next stage (pun intended) - but not before the spirit helps solve the murder and even subdue the culprit.
Sparkling or self deprecating, the conversations sparkle
I read rather a lot. This series makes me anxious about the long wait til December for the sixth book.
There is heart in this group of friends. There is potential in the future for everyone, a karmic end for the villains, and satisfaction for the fortunate readers. There is a garden growing, a love blooming, and lives flourishing. I can scarcely wait!
So far, this it the one I liked most in the series. However, her constant “hot flashes” and bad muscle/joints jokes are a bit too much. I’m 42 and I’m pretty sure I’m a few until perimenopause symptoms kick in. Derek acts like a 20-something when the characters are in their 40-50s. Mia, for all her lack of confidence, is starting to blossom and feel more accepted. After a whole life being put down by her mother and her own mind, self-acceptance is a hard road.
It was okay. Sometimes even pretty funny. But I was quite certain who killed the diva from the moment she was found dead, it was just too obvious. And then it’s a bit too heavily focused on the psychological side and growth in self worth of Mia. Which is okay and all - but I want to read a funny cozy mystery with a sizzling romance - not a therapy book. And it just fell short on everything I love to read. But hey, it’s still an enjoyable read and series. Hopefully with a better next book.
I am an avid reader and when I find an author I enjoy I read everything they publish. Anabel Chase has become a favorite author. Her characters are unique, fiesty, and often hilarious. This book is my favorite in the series (so far)! Mia grows so much in this story and that growth helps her solve the mystery and help a restless soul.
I just love this series! Annabel Chase never stops providing all the fun, mystery and even lol's. Kiss My Ash is just one more great story in this series. Mia I learning more and more about herself and growing her talents and her garden! I did miss Suzy though, but at least she got a few mentions!! Can't wait for the next book!!
Kiss My Ash being the fourth book in "The Bloomin' Psychic" series is another amzing book full of fun and paranormal mystery. Annabel Chase is a great writer and a number of points in this book really hit me right in the feelings and may have hit a little close to home. This is certainly a book you can get lost in for hours.
This series is getting more interesting and complex. I like the character growth and depth and appreciate the lively dialogue and humor - especially from the viewpoint of a 42 year old woman who is discovering her talent and courage. Can't wait To read the next one.
Each book has gotten better and better which is amazing. The first book was good and now we are at super fabulous!!! Love the characters of Mia, Dane, Chief Tuck, Patrick and Scarlet. There are also many more interesting characters. The writing style is awesome. I love the pearls of wisdom and insight. Can super relate to situations with Madeline.
Mia is visiting the theatre when a body drops.. this time she's not a suspect but word is out on her psychic powers and once again as he ends up helping.
The rather clichéd 100 year old ghost trapped in the theatre who Mia assists really didn't help.. it's been done rather a few too many times before
This book is such a super. You can really feel like you are living in this sleepy little town. Ms. Chase writes as if you know each and everyone of the people in the book. And she brings to life real issues we all have in your everyday life . I 🤔 think every lady should read this book and get to understand Mia the main character.it is enlightening.😁😏😳🤩
I absolutely love this series! I love the friendships! I love the mysteries! I love the romance! When things go wrong at the community theater, Mia is there and follows the leads to investigate. Her romance with Dane is thrown a bit of a curveball by a drunken revelation of his brother's but I have faith in her to solve that also!
I am enjoying this series much more than I thought I would. I really like the development of Mia's character and her building relationship with Dane. I also hope the situation with Derek is solved quickly. I don't look forward to her allowing him to mess up what she has going with Dane. Good build on her psychic abilities and confidence overall.
Mia is really settling in to her town and new abilities while still getting mixed up in murder. Can't wait to see what happens next and if the tarot cards are right.
Forty-two year Mia is trying to develop her psychic skills and navigate anew romance. The plot and subplots move quickly. Mia's ability to laugh at herself makes her likeable. I can't wait for the next book!
I love how Mia grows in this book! She is learning to accept herself and her abilities, and even male admiration! The mystery as always as intriguing, and the barely disguised New Hope setting is familiar and inviting.
I love this Series! With great power comes great responsibility… Yadda yadda yadda! Thank you for the plug ins from pop culture! Love how Mia is growing in power with her garden! Bring in Book 5!
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
