Honey’s on the run. Literally. Under witness protection, Honey has to keep a low profile which definitely means not getting involved with a pro fighter. Even if in his arms she feels safe.
Bear Chan knows a little about making money, a lot about hitting people, and nothing at all about being a father.
When guardianship duties fall on Bear’s shoulders, he knows that he’s going to need help. Fortunately, he’s found the perfect nanny for his little ward. The bad news is that his new boss (who happens to be a 5-year-old) doesn’t want him to so much as look at Honey for too long, in fear he'll run her off.
But that’s simply not possible. Honey Ricci is too sexy and too sweet for this Bear to resist. She already owns him.
This is a sweet romance that features a heroine who’s in the witness protection program falling in love with her new boss–a famous boxer who she’s a nanny for. This book is quite short and perfect to read just before bed. There’s a little bit of suspense and a little bit of steam. There’s also a bit of a mystery, with finding out what happened to put her in witsec. There are a few continuity issues that bothered me in the story, and the romance was a little lurchy, (they go from not knowing each other to madly in love in a couple of pages) but that seems to be common in romance novellas. I was also kind of confused by the title – this isn’t a surprise pregnancy novel. In fact, nobody gets pregnant at all. This isn’t really a spoiler, but I wanted to say this because if you go into the book expecting someone to be “knocked up”, you might be disappointed! 3 stars.
When I'm in his arms, I know I'm safe. The safest I can ever remember feeling in my whole life. He is my protector.
The Fighter falls for the Nanny... 4 stars!
I usually don't enjoy the nanny trope, but Ella's stories are quick, instalove-filled bites of sexiness that you can't help but love. Bear was such a softie for both Honey and Paige, and I loved seeing them all interact together. Not as steamy as her usual books, but I still enjoyed it ♡

Knocked up by love de Ella Goode
Argumento:
Honey está huyendo. Literalmente.
"Knocked Up by Love" is the story of Honey and Bear.
Heroine is on the run and in a witness protection program. She is about to leave her teaching job, when she gets hired to be a nanny to the child the hero is looking after. Ofcourse, sparks fly, there is some drama as secrets are revealed and the book ends in a HEA.
I normally don't add all of the 'adult' books I read on Goodreads unless I really enjoyed them and this book definitely made the cut. I really do seem to enjoy every book Ella Goode releases. This was an extremely cute, short read and I enjoyed the plot. Loved both main characters (particularly Bear) and enjoyed the different POVs.
This cute novella matches a giant fighter named Bear and a mysterious woman called Honey. Yummy match indeed :-D
They fall in lust and in love when he snatches her from her previous job in order to take care of a sassy little girl he suddenly kind of inherits. I loved the convoluted way they all end up together. It has humour and heartbreak.
Paige is an adorable and clever girl. Bear is rough around the edges and has no experience with tender feelings, but more than makes up for it with his protective side and his passionate devotion.
It is poignant as Paige finds a new home with the gruff fighter and the loving nanny who is his in from a dangerous situation. There are family times, funny interactions, steamy grown up love, and also some tough heroísmo as the fighter defends their happiness. Very good.
When bear is given custody of Paige, he has absolutely no idea what to do. Insert Honey… except Honey is keeping secrets!!! The minute that Bear sees Honey though, he knows she will be his. He just has to break down the walls and show her that he will fight for his family and he will win!!
Safe read I want to say dual virgin, but it’s never actually confirmed (see quote below) No om/ow drama Epilogue 8 years out
“Before her, I never wanted another. The desire was never there. No woman could handle or want what I can give. They’d all run screaming. Then Honey came along—the one woman for me.”
not a fan of nanny romance and dense men who don't know how to string two words cohenrently but it got better gradually
I liked how Bear was with Paige, i.e how clueless and utter fool he made of himself was fun to read Liked the family dynamics in the end, got a sweet ending the beginning plot could have been less frustrating
Just my kind of story! Sweet, with an interesting plot. Not a lot of plot action as it was mostly the couple dealing with a situation. It was also super short. I would have loved a longer version of this story. It was too short to really do it justice but there was an epilogue and it satisfied me enough to say I loved this story. Limited s e x which is okay too. Sometimes it’s too much s e x. This book was not a happy medium. It was lite on the s e x scenes. So if steam is your main driver this won’t be for you.
Lastly, the title makes no sense for this book. “Knocked up” doesn’t actually happen until the epilogue and “knocked” by itself because he was a fighter was just lame. So yes a better title should have been chosen or the story should have reflected it more than it did.
Either way, I “knocked” stars off for the shortness of the story as it was complex enough to warrant a much higher word count, for limited and boring s e x scenes, and because of the lame title, even though I absolutely did like this book very much. Enjoy.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Bear is a fighter who has been given temporary custody of a five year old girl, Paige. He doesn’t know the first thing about little girls so he hires a nanny. Honey is in witness protection, she was a nanny for a wealthy family, the husband kills his mistress and Honey contacts the police and now there is a contract out on her life. She’s been teaching as a substitute but with the regular teacher returning to work she needs her next job. Paige is a student in her class and when she is given the opportunity to be Paige’s nanny she’s hesitant to accept because of her attraction to Bear. For him it’s love at first sight, he has never felt this way about a woman before. Then Paige’s dad dies of complications of his injuries. Paige is permanently his now. Worried Honey will leave if Bear pursues her, Paige asks Bear to leave her alone, but in the end Bear does seduce Honey. To help Paige he proposes to Honey, but she says she can’t marry him and then has to explain why. Little bit of drama with her old creepy landlord and the WITSEC officer. Her ex-employer tries to have her killed, she gets taken but Bear finds her and gets rid of the two bad guys, he saves her. She accepts his proposal and the three of them become a family. Epilogue with them all celebrating Paige’s 13th birthday party and they have boys too.

Knocked Up by Love was about Benjamin "Bear" Chan, a famous boxer, and Honey Walker (AKA Hannah Ricci), a nanny/substitute elementary school teacher).
This story was a bit all over the place. Honey had been placed in Witness Protection six months earlier for reporting her boss to the police, so she has had to be moved repeatedly in that short span of time. It was OTT dramatic and angsty, with a touch of spice. Unfortunately, there was more fluff-n-stuff than meaningful content, and that detracted from the book. I actually started this story two days earlier than I wrote the review...and I never take that long to read a book. It was boring and full of information dumb.
The reason for Honey to be in WitSec was mostly secondary to the love plot, but it felt more like it was thrown in haphazardly and worked in at the worst possible moments. I think what I disliked the most was how the author portrayed the MMC as an uneducated, ill-spoken man. So what if he came from "the wrong side of the tracks", was dirt poor growing up, etc.? That doesn't mean he wasn't an educated man. Perhaps he didn't have the education others had, but that doesn't mean he wasn't smart.
The whole story was a bit off-kilter and just didn't flow smoothly. It needed more grit and a bit more background story, but it needed to be put together in such a way that it could be read with enjoyment and not disappointment.
I only gave this a one-star rating. It just didn't earn anything higher.
Again with the inconsistencies…timeline is all over the place in what’s supposed to be the same day. First Honey’s writing a 6 page letter to the kid’s real teacher after being out for maternity leave for like 3 months (which let’s face it in the US is unbelievable enough for a teacher to be able to do) but makes it seem like it was the start of the year & she doesn’t know the kids. Then there’s mention that Spring Break is around the corner so that would mean it’s March/April. Except when they find Ted he says he bought the pay per view of Bear’s fight three, or four months, ago in February right after Valentine’s so when the is this book happening?
Not to mention when Johnny dies it’s been what 1 day since Honey & Bear met yet in the next chapter it’s been just over a month Honey’s irritated “at what had happened in the locker room over a month ago” but somehow in Bear’s chapter in the same scene there’s this: “So many nights over the last few months, I’ve lain in bed mapping out exactly how I would make our first time slow and perfect.” Then in Honey’s next chapter “fact that the past month has been super stressful” and “this past month living with Bear and Paige” yet two chapters later which is the day after this scene we’re back to “I haven’t been back to my place in months” and “the past few months have been the best of my life”
And let’s not forget Honey never went to college but yet she’s able to be a long term substitute teacher while in WITSEC…yeah sure.
First things first; I really like the cover of this book! This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Bear is a fighter that has temporary guardianship of another fighter’s five-year-old daughter. Honey is a schoolteacher that is in witness protection. When she is hired by Bear to be a nanny, sparks fly but will she give love a chance? The chemistry between Honey and Bear is clear to see and I liked them together. I loved how possessive and protective Bear was of Honey. I thought Paige was adorable. My heart hurt for her over her father situation. I loved her bond with Honey and Bear. I liked and was amused by the hero and heroines names. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Such a cute romance! Bear Chan makes a living using his fists. His life is literally about fighting and training. Women have no room in his life. But he soon changes his tune when he's required to find a nanny for a little girl who falls under his guardianship.
Honey loves nothing more than working with kids. Before she was placed in witness protection she was a nanny. The closest she's been able to come to working with kids again is being a substitute teacher. However, she takes the job looking after Paige knowing that she's breaking all the rules.
Bear is the kind of man he's not going to let some rich a-hole keep him from claiming the woman he loves. He'll do whatever it takes to make sure Honey is safe.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
Check TW! ☑️Virginians ☑️Grumpy/sunshine ☑️Boxer/teacher ☑️Alpha ☑️Forced proximity ☑️Kidnapped She is a teacher that is in the witness protection program, and he is a boxer who just became guardian to a five year old little girl. He knows nothing about raising a child and looks for help be hiring a nanny. It is instant attraction for them both. She is scared about her feelings for them both and putting them in danger. He swears to protect her and takes matters into his own hands. Especially when she gets kidnapped.
When Fighter Bear Chan finds himself as guardian of a little girl, he also finds himself in need of a nanny. And that nanny happens to be Honey. She already knows his young ward and the two have a bond. And when Bear sets his sights on Honey, it's lights out. But Honey has a secret past, one she's running from. She can't have a future, can she? Can she let Bear give her the HEA she's always wanted?
This was just adorable! Nothing beats a big, giant fighter named Bear, nothing except a five year old girl entrusted into his care. When it gets to be too much, he decides to hire a nanny and that is how he finds his Honey. Even though she needs the job, Honey shouldn't be taking ones like being a teacher or a nanny. So when the past comes knocking, Bear isn't willing to give up his Honey. This was just a straight up fun, cute read and I had a blast reading it; 5 stars!
The storytelling was quite enthralling. I was curious to see what direction the writer would take me in and I was left pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed all the character interactions, from the sassy female characters, to the brooding, protective alpha males. The sex scenes were limited throughout but written tastefully and demanded attention. I must say, this book was an unexpected guilty pleasure.
