The best part of Nova by Dee Lagasse was the celebration of woman power. Breaking stereotypes. Touching new limits. And finding forever love on the way. As a reader, I don't think I can think of anything more satisfying than this quirky swoony novella.
Nova is a minority in male dominated comic book world. But she is super talented and determined and that's why she reached at the top creator level in Cobalt comics. Well that still doesn't stop her male colleagues from ignoring her opinions. So she decides to quit suddenly. What should have been a sad and uncertain day in her life becomes the best day ever. As her best friend aka co worker Bishop Vaughn admits his true feelings.
This whole concept of a female lead who creates comic is really innovative and I am sure there are a whole nerd of comic nerds who will appreciate it. Even if you are not a comic fan, there is something so amazing about a woman breaking boundaries and getting success in her own ways. GO NOVA GO. I love love love this woman and her fearless attitude. And Bishop is the perfect partner. He is just so swoony! You gotta love a hero who supports and lifts his partner every way possible while being effortlessly sexy and charming. Nova's new career choices also introduces a whole new team of female comic creators and her protege Birdie will soon have her own story. So we get to see more of Nova and I cannot wait for Birdie's story!
Nova was so adorable! I absolutely love how cute it was and so empowering! I truly felt like I was a strong enough to do anything! Definitely a wonderful quick story!
For those that haven’t read it yet, you’ll not want to miss it! So amazing 🖤
I loved this EQ Anthology story! It's a wonderful intro to the Comic Con world, and had me salivating for the continuation of this universe! I'm ready to dive into this woman-led comic world.
This was a fun little novella and a great lead in for the new book Dee has coming out. I'm looking forward to reading that and revisting this world in more depth when it is released. Easy to read, fun, would recommend.
What a great short story! Nova is an empowering woman making her way through the Comic Con world. I love her spunk and the fact that she doesn’t take any nonsense from anyone.
Nova was such a cute quick read. Great intro into The Comic Con world. I loved that it was a great way to empower women to know their worth and believe in themselves. I definitely related to her growing up with older brothers and playing the female heroes. I loved getting a glimpse of Isaac and Zoe again! Can’t wait for more!
Some people write a 450 page book & still can't get a good story across. Some people write an 40 page short story & do a fantastic job building a story. This book made me feel every feeling imaginable. It was beyond amazing & I now just want to consume everything Dee has written!
Nova is a fantastic read with a great message and wonderful friends to lovers feels. Nova and Bishop make you warm and fuzzy, and I can’t wait to see them again in The Comic Con.
Ok so this is the first book I’ve ever read from Dee and I absolutely loved it. Who doesn’t love a woman who goes for what she wants. From the start Dee had me rooting for Nova. It was an amazingly cute small read. It definitely hooked me into wanting to know more about the Comic Con world!
Nova is the type of woman we all aspire to be—courageous, caring, and witty. She's got sass for days and she knows exactly what she wants. Dee Lagasse has done it again with her short story, Nova. I'm dying to dive into the world she's creating and read more about Nova in her upcoming books!
I loved loved this book!! Nova and Bishop’s story captivated me from page 1 and left me wanting more. I can’t wait until The Comic Con comes out to catch even more of them and find out Birdie’s story!
When I say this short story have me all the feels I mean it and more.
I cannot wait for more of this story and getting to know the other characters who have life to these words Dee beautifully wove into my head and heart.
Nova is a inspiration for any female, taking her career into her own hands in a male dominated business, not being taken seriously, not being backed by the higher ups, finding out Bishop is leaving also, knowing the sparks are there between them and acting on them, to finding the ultimate in everything together, beautiful short story, I have voluntarily read and review this ARC, thank you for the privilege, Dana Zamora
Nova was a great short story! I loved that Nova wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself even when she could have lost her dream job. She knew what she was worth and didn’t settle. I am looking forward to April when I can read Birdie’s story! Love a book/story that makes women feel empowered!

I love Nova and Bishop! The sheer strength she has in telling off her boss... how I’ve wished to be able to do that! Even in the short time we get to know them, I could feel the familiarity between them. I love Isaac and Zoe’s cameo too! Great intro to TCC!
I loved this! Such a great taste of what’s to come. I loved seeing Isaac and Zoe from According to Plan, and getting a sneak peek of Birdie! I was already impatiently waiting for Dee’s next novel but now I’m even more excited!
Let me introduce you to Nova a creative powerhouse of a Queen, who realizes her worth and make a decision that sets her out on a new journey. One where she finally sees everything is hers to be have!
Nova is a story of empowerment, it gives us the strength to grab hold of our own worth and let the journey we get make us a Queen. There are bumps along the way, as is life, but Nova makes you remember you can have all you want and we meet Bishop.
Dee gives us a little sassy, spicy and sweet with Nova and it’s perfection!
Omg my little superhero heart just geeked out over this sneak peak of Suffra-Jette! Nova is written in such a way that she came barreling through the door in her kick ass vans (in my head lol) making the world stop and pay attention to what she’s going to say! Strong Female and Comics?? 🙋🏽♀️ I am front and center my loves. Front and center!! I can’t wait to read this full story! Nova is a super cute, fresh and fun prequel. I am loving the Evil Queen anthology!
I had the pleasure of beta reading this short story a few months ago and as usual, Dee knocked it out of the park! I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to hopefully get more from these characters soon!!
This snippet of the Suffra-Jette world has me completely entranced hook-line and sinker! This was such a great novella and I love the world that Dee Lagasse has created with empowered females at the helm in the world of comics!
What I loved about this story is the uplifting of women in power and each of them encouraging one another! Great introduction to the comic world as well.
Such an amazing novella! Absolutely brilliant & such a great intro to her characters! These are strong women who stand up for themselves and fight for others. Absolutely loved it!!!
"And they say a girl can’t have everything?! I refused to settle—on love or on my career. I bet on myself. I knew I was worth it. I am worth it."
Nova is such a great tease of what is to come in the Suffra-Jette world. Hello women empowerment I see you shining through the pages of this story! I am so excited to see other women tearing down societies standards of not just what women "shouldn't like" because it's "manly" but also the inequality that many women expirence in the workplace and beyond.
I won't lie I cheated and read The Comic Con first then Nova. But I must say it didn't make this Novella any less enjoyable reading it second versus first as a prequel so I really liked that. It was nice to get a behind the scenes look per say of just how everything with Suffra-Jette came to be what it was and just how it all got started. I won't lie in saying I wish it were longer but I'm just greedy like that what can I say.
Nova and Bishop was so stinking cute together y'all. I was totally here for their easy banter and adorable friendship. You could definitely tell that had known eachother for years. Everything was just simple and smooth with their dynamic. Plus their chemistry most definitely bled from the kindle pages. And don't for one single second be fooled that just because their story was short that it didn't deliver in the romance and spice! I was actually pleasantly surprised how much detail and emotions the author was able to squeeze into such a short story!
*5 STARS* Was well earned with this absolutely cute and fun prequel. If you haven't one clicked Nova do it y'all! Then while your at it just go ahead and one click The Comic Con while your there because trust me when I say... You are absolutely going to want to see what happens with the Suffra-Jette ladies next!
This short and sweet novella was the perfect introduction Suffra-Jette series. I loved the girl power. Showing that girls are able to do everything the guys could do…right along with them. Nova and Bishop seemed like they fell into life seamlessly together and fell right along with them. I can’t wait for The Comic Con to come out, I’m already hooked on this world and need more!
This was a solid start to what seems like a great series filled with woman in awesome positions to inspire woman/girls everywhere. I really liked Nova and Bishop.
Super cute short story that fills us in on how Nova and Bishop's relationship started, as well as gave us insight into how Birdie came to join the company.
