I really enjoy Hanna's books but for some reason this was not my favorite series. I read both books and they were alright, but I couldn't really connect with the characters. Best part of the books was going back to Seagrove.

Wisteria Winds: Wisteria Island Book 2 is by Rachel Hanna. I definitely hope Rachel is working hard on book 3 because I am ready to read it and I am not patient when it comes to reading a book series. Rachel has kept up the great high standards of writing in this book as she has I all her other books. This definitely shows how much she values her readers. Her characters come alive in her books and you feel you are in the character’s shoes yourself as you read. The book encompasses you.
As we return to Wisteria Island, things are becoming more complicated. Bennett has hired a doctor to come to the island without letting Dani know he was considering it. A new person has come to live on the island, Mamie. She was a reporter before being forced to retire. Can she keep the stories she uncovers to herself? Can she mend the fence she broke with her daughter? Can Dorothy forgive her for what she did? All of this and more while a hurricane is lingering offshore. Can Wisteria Island and all of its inhabitants survive all the storms that are headed their way? Read the book to find out.

This second book is even better than the first. After growing to love the characters in book one, it was amazing to follow their growing stories and relationships

The second installment of the Wisteria Island series was heartwarming. Our favorite residents are back, as well as some new residents that you’ll love to get to know. While you can read this as a stand alone, I highly recommend you read the first book so you get to discover all the quirky residents, and it will make it that much better when you pick up their story of surviving a hurricane, meeting new people to the island and the new dynamics that involves, as well as seeing how Bennett and Danielle work through their relationship. This story reminds me that family is not only the family you are born into, but the friends you make along the way who also become your family. Loved reading about the Seagrove group fitting in this story as well - it was like hearing about old friends. Loved it.

Another heartwarming Rachel Hanna book! I ended up liking this sequel better than Wisteria Island. I enjoyed the plot more and once again loved the tie ins to the South Carolina Sunset series. I knocked off a star only because these books are way too predictable and it would be nice to have some elements of surprise/twists.

Not impressed. I enjoyed the first book but this one lacked character development and story depth. So much more could have been done with the hurricane, the love triangle, Morty's family situation and the newcomer's general nature.

The entire book felt like it was rushed instead of developed. Don't waste your time on this one.

This is book #2 in the Wisteria Island series. Although it could be read as a standalone, I enthusiastically suggest reading book #1 so you get to know all the lovable and quirky residents of Wisteria Island, a home for senior citizens.

Reading this book is an absolutely delightful trip back to Wisteria Island, seeing old friends and meeting a few new ones. Dr. Zach is the new resident doctor on the island who will share in the care of the residents while also meeting the medical needs of the residents.

Danielle is the island's nurse who not only cares for the residents’ medical needs, but their relationships are much broader, more like family. As the story begins, she is helping flamboyant Morty, select the ensemble he'll be wearing in the upcoming fashion show. Dorothy Monroe, another resident and former movie actress is also participating and will be wearing one of her glamorous gowns from her days in the movies.

Bennett, who owns the island and Danielle's boyfriend is called out of town because of the imminent death of his favorite great aunt. While he's gone a new resident, Mamie arrives, stirring up a little trouble. A hurricane is predicted to be heading towards the island, so preparations are underway as the staff and residents work together to stay safe and to secure the island

This is a heartwarming story of how easily misunderstandings can happen, the healing of forgiveness and supporting one another during challenging times. I practically read this book straight through which speaks highly of Rachel's character development. Each person feels real, and their life stations are very relatable. It's a good to reminder that family often extends to those who don't share your DNA. I loved everything about this book, the people the setting the island and the touch of romance mixed in with everything else!

Great continuation on Wisteria Island with some of the best senior citizens ever.

Danielle and Bennett are doing well on Wisteria Island. Then Bennett hires a good looking doctor and a new resident comes to live there, as well. Between the two new people and a hurricane bearing down, Wisteria Island is not the calm, relaxed place it usually is. Will they survive the hurricane? Can everyone survive the trials of trusting and living so close together when it hits? Will Bennett's dream survive intact?

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has some kisses but no steam. The main characters are vivid and engaging. The secondary characters are as enjoyable and quirky as in the first story. This has some fun parts and some serious issues as well.

The second book in this series is about the continuing lives of the crazy, retired residents on Wisteria Island. The story explores Bennett, the owner of the island, and Danielle, the island’s only nurse, caring for their residents and themselves. They, both, have come to a crossroad in their relationship which they must explore individually and together. Add in a new doctor on the island to the mix, an approaching hurricane, plus an additional new resident to the community, and familiar characters from Seagrove, a near by town off the island, and it makes an exciting adventure. The elderly characters in the book put a smile on your face and compassion in your heart. Beautiful story of love, no matter your age.

This is the second book in the Wisteria Island series but I didn’t read the first and I feel like I didn’t miss anything though I will probably read the first book as well. I really enjoyed the story. The characters were terrific. Each of the character’s mentioned living on the island were so different with great personalities. The main character, Danielle, was very likable. The story was heartwarming. It was interesting reading a book with a hurricane in it when I just went through two hurricanes living in Florida. I recommend the book.

WISTERIA WINDS is where I want to live.

I chose this rating because the book was that great. It made me think of my girlfriends and how we used to talk about living together when we got older. This island would be the greatest place. We could write our own history. Thank you Rachel Hanna.

Wisteria Life

Love Rachel Hanna's books, and Wisteria Winds is an amazing sequel to her first book, Wisteria Island! Loved the characters and enjoyed reading about the happenings on the Island except the hurricane which caused damage to the island. Sure enjoyed visiting this island again.

This was a decent continuation from the first book. It was so dramatic, yet surface level because so much was going on in such a short book. Just like the first book, I was not rooting for Danielle and Bennet’s relationship – especially since they barely spend any time together. I love the side characters, they really bring this story to life.

Another great book by Rachel Hannah. Wisteria Winds continues the Wisteria Island series with its cast of awesome quirky characters and small island charm. I hope there is another book in this series planned.

Rachel Hanna has such a wonderful way with words - her characters are funny and sad, lonely and loved. As she describes them, you can actually visualize them. Fun, easy read!

A Treat From The Start!

This second book in the series was even better than the first and I LOVED the first one! The residents of Wisteria Island will have you laughing, crying, and cheering them on as they bond together and live through a looming hurricane and more! Delightful!

Another beautiful story from one of my favorite authors. Not you run of the mill love story though - kooky seniors thrown in for laughs, a hurricane and lots of fence mending. A lovely story!

A Nicw Return Visit

The second book in the series isn’t quite as good as the first (the reader has already been surprised by the funny and quirky characters). But it is like visiting your eccentric older relatives and spending time hearing about their funny, sometimes outrageous, takes on life in the offbeat retirement community of Wisteria Island. A nice way to spend an afternoon or evening of easy relaxation.

Clean romance and so much more. This is not only a continuation of Book 1, which should be read 1st, but also brings in some new characters and closes up some needed family issues.

A hurricane is bearing down on the residents on Wisteria Island. And not just the physical winds that could tear their paradise apart. But a new resident stirs up winds and other undercurrents could cause problems, too. Rachel Hanna's characters are delightful. I hope she writes more about them.

A hurricane is headed for the island and it's up to Danielle, Bennett and the staff to keep them safe. The threat of the storm causes some reconciliations for some residents. We see that for some residents, family is who you choose.

I didn't enjoy this book nearly as much as the first book in the series. Within the book itself, it repeated itself, as well as reviewing incidents from the first book. To me, it was overdone, and I just wanted to get it over with. In my opinion, it barely deserves a 3-star rating.

Better than book 1. Still didn't love it but it was a quick, entertaining read. I would give this 3.5 stars so I'll round it to 4. Some of the writing style/ conversations feel contrived and unnatural. But it's a nice story with nice characters and a happy ending.

Ugh! How did this book get better reviews than the first?? It's pretty thin when it comes to imagery and discrimination. It's filled with clichés. I thought the first was much better, but maybe I wasn't paying attention... This definitely felt perfunctory.

As I await 4 books "on hold," from my local library, I've taken to this fine author. The story is a delight to read, and "rests" your mind. I loved the plot about Seniors living on their own island with their eccentricities. Nice quick read..
