A city girl allergic to animals (and aliens)

June only registered with the Highlander Dating Agency because she lost a bet. She never expected to be invited to an all-expenses-paid trip to meet some hunky Highlanders.

What nobody told her: the Highlanders are aliens and live on a different planet. And they’re desperate for mates – so desperate that there’s no guarantee she’ll ever return to Earth.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the huge kilt-wearing alien she's matched to lives on a farm. In the middle of nowhere. With smelly animals all around. This is June's personal hell, but when she discovers that her mate is in trouble, leaving him isn't as easy as she thought.

An alien farmer with a dark secret

Eron spends his days tending to his taigeis farm. The fluffy animals are all the company he needs. He’s broken off all contact with society, so when an old friend visits with a gaggle of females, his first instinct is to feed them to the beasts. Until his mating antennae start to itch and he realises that one of the human females is his mate…

As much as he would like her to stay, he can’t risk anyone discovering the terrible secret that made him an outcast. Can he find the strength to push her away before she steals his heart?

If you want hot alien Highlanders in kilts, strong women who don't like being told what to do, fated mates and happily-ever-afters, dive into the world of the Starlight Highlanders.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and a sparkling, charming authorial voice. The world building of these aliens with a culture very similar to the Scottish was briefly sketched out while conveying all the necessary information. I found the illustrations scattered throughout a charming world building touch. The characterization was good, with the heroine being intelligent and very sympathetic and the hero being an over the top possessive alpha male with refreshing self awareness. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and spicy, with a heat level of four chili peppers due to some non-human anatomy. The plot was spare, which was appropriate for a story of this short length. The pacing galloped along quickly. There was low angst and medium stakes, which was a restful break from a lot of the romances I usually read. This novel used the Fated Mates trope, the Mars Needs Women trope, and the Matchmaking Agency trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This story ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances with a lighter, sparkling character. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I may buy myself keeper copies of this whole series, since I am enjoying it so much, even though I do not usually buy stories this short.

June has a great best friend and in true best friend fashion she is being pushed out of her comfort zone. Standard girls night procedure of drinking too much and letting yourself be talked into something. This is how she finds herself in the offices of Hot Tattie signing up to be matched with one of a number of rather fandabbydozy highlanders. What could possibly go wrong? Eron has taken himself away from the general populous. He feels more comfortable around animals than he does other Albyans. He is more than a little taken aback when he finds that he has a mate and that she is coming to him in a matter of days. He hadn't planned on a mate, doesn't want a mate and then he meets June. MATE!!!! Eron is just so sweet and lovely. You can tell how anxious he is and he does all he can to give June the space she needs. He is dealing with all his dark thoughts alone but now he has a mate, will she stay when he tells her of them?

I enjoyed this story about Eron and June. I read the first book in this series where we heard about Eron, so I really wanted to read this story to find out about the isolated alien and his mate. It was a read that I got interested in from the very beginning and was easy to follow the story. It was steamy and had a story line that was easy to follow. The reason that I gave this book four stars instead of five is because the drama in the story came from Eron keeping a secret and not wanting to tell June about things that happened in his past. When he told her, she immediately accepted him. There wasn't a lot of drama for the couple other than that secret. While I was wondering the whole story about this secret, the reveal and it's consequences did have a big impact on me. Other than that, I enjoyed the story. I can't wait to read the next book and find out about Beth and Cyle.

Great Second Book in the Series

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the Starlight Highlanders Mail Order Bride series. All of the women on Albya, including girls once they reach a certain age, have fallen into a deep coma-like sleep and they can’t be awakened. The Albyans are facing extinction if they can’t find other females that are compatible with them. After an extensive search, they have located Earth, which they call Peritus. Using computer programs and DNA, they are able to match human females with Albany males. Albyan males dress in kilts, just like the men in Scotland and the Hot Tatties dating service on Earth recruits women from Scotland, at least so far.

June is included in a group of ten women traveling to Albya to meet her match, Eron. He is also excited to meet the woman he’s been matched with. He is friends with Thorrn and meets Jenny, Thorrn’s mate. Those two were the first match made and the scientists perform various tests on each of them to assist in their efforts to match women with the men.

Thorrn and Jenny are to meet the ship to welcome the women and to prepare the men on how to behave when meeting their matches. All it took for both June and Eron was to see each other for them to know they had been perfectly matched, plus Eron’s antennas burned, which told him June was his mate. In fact, Eron crossed the room and put his four arms around her and they shared an extremely passionate kiss. The two decided to travel that evening directly to Enron’s farm where he raised taisgeis (there’s a great description in the book as well as some images so you can see what kind of animal they are).

I won’t give you any more details about the story other than this broad introduction. You need to read the book and find out for yourself, but I promise you’ll like it! Let me qualify that: I loved the story and think that if you’re taking the time to read the reviews, most of you will as well. The world building had some interesting innovations and the character development was well done. Altogether, I would give this book a rating of 5 stars. Great job Skye!

Eron: Starlight Highlanders Mail Order Brides #2 (Intergalactic Dating Agency) Kindle Edition

by Skye MacKinnon  (Author)

Thank you to Skye MacKinnon for the complimentary reviewer's copy. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
This series, the Intergalactic Dating Agency, is fun, frisky and full of the joy romance readers are looking for.
The men of Eron planets have suffered – their women have fallen into the Sleep – leaving their males alone. Desperate for hope and mates, they discover that the women of Earth can be matched to them! The Hot Tatties Dating Agency is born.
June Summers has just lost her job and is ready to take a holiday somewhere, anywhere else. When she is offered the chance to go to Eron's home and get to know her mate, she jumps at the chance. Of course, she has a bit of a shock when she realizes her mate, the sexy ginger male in a kilt, is actually a 4 armed alien on an entirely different planet.
Eron is the taigeis farmer, the only one who has the ability to tame the fuzzy beasts. He has chosen a life in isolation because of a deep and dark secret. But faced with the attraction to June, he knows he needs to take a big step.
The world-building is awesome. Who could imagine 4 armed, kilt wearing, lost Highlanders from space?
The writing is fun and this short novella is worth a read on a cold and dreary night. The love scenes are sexy, hot and delicious.
This series is a must for Sci-Fi Romance nuts. Fun and so much more.

We meet June at the beginning of this book as she goes to the Hot Tatties Dating Agency with her friend Anna. She made this decision while hungover and wasn't sure it was the right thing to do.

We meet Eron as he brings a baby taigeis into his home where he has a nursery set up. He raises the animals once considered feral for both pets and food. I have to say I fell in love with the little critter right away. He's a bit annoyed when Cyle repeatedly tries to get him to answer his commstick. When he finally answers he gets quite the surprise.

June gets a surprise herself, she's fired from her job and is considering taking a vacation when she literally trips over the packet from Hot Tatties. She wasn't planning on a three month one, but it's all expenses paid so she's going to do it. She'll meet with this supposed match and see what happens.

Things were pretty intense between June and Eron and he takes her to his farm instead of the hotel. He couldn't stand the thought of another male being near her and possibly touching her. Very unusual for a first meeting.

I love the taigeis, they're so dang cute.

There's still the issue of mating and the intensity, but Eron has a problem he's going to have to share with June if this is going to work. He's really afraid she'll leave when he tells her.

We get to see Cyle accompanied by Jenny as they arrive at the ranch to do some testing.

There's lots of sizzling heat in this one as well as cuteness, laughs and tears. There's also a hint about the next book, which I can't wait for. Oh and I want a baby Taigeis!

Unexpected mate

Eron runs a taigeis farm on Albya when he receives a comm from his friend to return to the capitol to meet his mate from Peritus (what they call Earth). He really doesn't want to go but the more he ponders about the importance of finally finding a mate , his antennae start to itch along with having a slight burning sensation. All the females on Albya remain in a deep sleep, including his sister, without mates their species is doomed. The elders contacted the Intergalactic Council for a special consideration to seek mates on Earth after finding out they are compatible to their species. Earth is considered an underdeveloped planet n off limits under galactic rule.
June Summer, at the advice of her friend, signs up at Hot Tatties for DNA testing to find a match with a hot Irish man. Two weeks later , she's informed a match was found n there's an all expense paid trip ,with shopping, to meet him when she signs a three month contract. She'd just got fired n made up her mind to go on a vacation, so three months sounds good, especially when there's no out of pocket money involved. As she n several other women arrive at the airport they're bewildered to be led to an empty field beyond the terminal. Surprise!! Their transportation is a bona fide UFO, cloaked of course, wouldn't want to panic the citizens of Earth.
When they reach Albya n finally meet their mates, Eron n June have an immediate n intense attraction toward each other.
I loved reading the entire series .

A charming and sweet, short alien romance! I enjoyed this story very much. The conversations between the characters flowed smoothly, and there was an interesting plot. June is talked into signing up for a Highland dating service (think shirtless, kilt wearing hunks) without being told that it is an intergalactic mate matching service for a planet of males facing extinction after all their females contracted a virus causing them to fall into a deep sleep. Eron is somewhat of an hermit living on a farm and never expected to get a mate. When he goes to the city to meet June, he's not even sure he should keep her. Until he gets within a room's distance of her and his antennae go crazy indicating his fated mate is near. Then he realizes he must do everything he can to convince June to stay with him. June is immediately super attracted to Eron, but she hates farms, she is allergic to furry animals and most importantly she is still upset at being told she gets a free vacation to meet and get to know her matched mate without being told that she'll be traveling to another planet! The book is short. I read it in a day, but the author manages to set up the background, the nature of the main characters and the side characters and develop an interesting plot efficiently.

A riveting second book in series, great characters and plot that keeps you guessing throughout

I loved this book and have to recommend the read to others who I am sure will be as enticed by the characters and the story as myself and will be blown away by future books in this simply wonderful series.

I loved the character June and the fact that she decided that she needed a change of life and after her loss had decided to sign up to the dating agency. I have to say that there were some very funny laugh out loud moments and also some that pulled at the heart strings which I think is the perfect combination.

When Eron decided to take himself away for a break he had left people behind instead preferring creatures, and was most surprised when he was notified the human from earth would be there to meet him within a few days.

This was a wonderful read and I have to say that I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

June, the female human lead, is convinced by a friend to sign up with a matchmaking agency. Reluctantly, she does, and is shocked to be told she’s been matched and invited to go to his town to spend three months getting to know him. Then she finds herself in a spaceship on a month long journey and she’s miffed.

Eron, the male alien lead, is not interested in a bride - he has personal medical issues and a secret to hide that mean he doesn’t think it’s safe. Then he comes into June’s proximity and he knows he has no intention of letting her go. Maybe she can understand his secret - that attraction is extreme!

The novella is dual POV, well written, and a fun, fast-paced, arranged match romance. I enjoyed June’s assertiveness and, later, the interest she displayed in Eron’s world. I understood Eron’s concerns and enjoyed the way he adjusted to meet his biological imperative. Their intimate scenes were sweet and spicy, though the story finished fairly abruptly, though with a HEA, with the next one to pick up with a different couple where it left off.

June Summer gets tricked into applying at Hot Tatties Dating Site by her best friend. She would never have agreed if she hadn’t been drunk! So she fills out the paperwork fully intending to reject any match. But she didn’t anticipate getting fired from her job so she figures a free vacation is just what she needs! She just doesn’t know it’s on another planet!

Eron is perfectly content raising his Taigeis in the countryside. He is shocked when his friend calls him and tells him he has a mate and she will be here soon. Since he didn’t apply to the program he doesn’t know anything about it. Seems his friend Cycle took it upon himself to sign Eron up!

These two are so cute! They both think they don’t need a mate, until they meet each other and can’t keep their hands off each other! But Eron is sure June will reject him when she finds out his dark secret!

Excellent book. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!.

While June was out drinking with her friend, she had no idea that the evening would take a turn into more dangerous territory than drunk karaoke. Most certainly not losing a bet, and having to sign up for a match making agency. Before she knows it, she’s completed the interview, paperwork, & is ready to leave on a 3 month trip to meet her match made in genetics??? As June is to soon find out, it will literally get a lot weirder than that.
This series has become a favorite because this author’s alien series has well written characters, settings, and a little spicey romance with a large dose of humor. Which is just what I need to escape into for a few moments to recharge through out the day. I love the concept of the intergalactic dating agency, especially this one. A story where everyone isn’t perfect, it doesn’t always go to plan, & yet they can still work it out, may seem a little predictable. But, the outside the box thinking/writing, sarcasm, & brutal honesty makes it all come together into a lovely story. I’m waiting eagerly for the next one.

This is a fast paced alien romance with some very steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending. It’s well written and the main characters are lovely.
June signed up with a dating agency while drunk with her friend one night. She goes with her friend Anna who made her sign up. Then the worst happened, she lost her job with no warning. When the agency contact her to say they found her mate she agrees to go on a vacation to meet him. It’s only when she’s at the airport with other matches that she finds out they are aliens. Once they arrive June and Eron have a sizzling introduction. When she wants to go back to her hotel and a male shakes her hand Eron is overcome with possessiveness and takes her straight to his farm. They share some steamy kisses but Eron won’t sleep with her. He’s got a big secret that he’s too nervous to admit to. When he does he doesn’t get the reaction he thought he would

June and Eron's Story . . .

June lost a bet when she had too much to drink with her friend, Anna. so she signed up for the dating agency as she promised. Having handsome Highlanders to pick from for a date doesn’t sound too bad – except that she does not know they are aliens in need of mates and that they are located on another planet. And the one she is matched to raises fluffy animals. Will her allergies to critters be an issue?

Avoiding society, Eron is a farmer who is happy to be isolated with his animals. A friend surprises him when he lets Eron know he has been matched and the Earth female would be arriving soon. But he has a dark secret and does not want a mate. Seeing her, however, his body reacts to her and he wants her to be his. Can he find the strength to push her away before it is too late?

This was a good story as Eron and June have an opportunity to fall in love. She deserves someone who will love her completely. Will she find her HEA with Eron?

Losing a bet June signs up for a dating agency and is matched to an alien in a kilt.
While drunk June loses a bet to to her friend Anna which results in her signing up to the Hot Tatties Dating Agency which takes a sample of your DNA and matches it to a male. June find she has a match and is offered a holiday to get to know her mate but having just lost her job she gets drunk and signs without reading. After arriving at the airport and is shock when the bus takes her to what turns out to be a spaceship with a crew of kilted Highlander Aliens. Albyan Eron had retreated to a farm breeding Taigeis and being the first to breed them in captivity has made it a good business. He is shocked to find that he has a mate matched to an old DNA sample that was on record.

I loved this story. I really liked the first book, but I enjoyed this one even more! Great world building and I liked the differences- both physically and culturally- of the alien Albyans as opposed to us humans. This book didn't start off slow and then build up to introducing the alien stuff. It started pretty quickly and I loved seeing the human woman on the spaceship and then in first meeting their matches. Eron and June were a great match. Watching them together was cute. He has some baggage from his past, but it was nice and refreshing to see him talk about it (even if he had to force himself to be courageous enough to do so) rather than not say anything and potentially cause drama as some books tend to do. This was a short read, but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book in this series. 5 stars.

Hot Tatties Dating Agency is up and running. June has lost a bet with Anna and that ends her up at the dating agency getting signed up. Anna is Jenny's sister in law (book 1).
As June and 9 other women wait at the airport and a spaceship appears, it starts to show that the details on where exactly they are traveling we a little vague.
My favorite part of the story was that eventhough there is definite chemistry between June and Eron, the relationship is not instant as well. They are basically strangers that have their emotions driving them to be more, but their minds are cautious of letting go. City girl meets county living as they travel to Eron's farm. I enjoyed how their relationship developed.
I looking forward to reading more from this series.

I started reading this author when I found her books about "The Intergalactic Guide to Humans" abduction for beginners. This is part of a new series that is just as good. This is the second book of the Starlight Highlanders Intergalactic Dating Agency. June was set up with an alien Highlander. Eron lives on a farm and raises animals that were considered food. I loved his little baby taigeis. This was such a cute, pretty hot, sweet, laugh out loud story. Eron really dressed like a Highlander with kilt. His antennae's start acting up which means he's getting close to his mate. Will these two get their HEA? Will June be able to live on a farm with lots of furry animals? You will chuckle. Can't wait to read then next story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a fun and sexy read. I really liked the characters and the story line. If you like soul mate alien stories, then I highly recommend this one.
June's friend Anna wins a bet and now June has to sign up with Hot Tatties, a matching service. Unbeknownst to June, the possible mates are aliens. So when June gets matched and loses her job on the same day, she figures why not. Eron is working on his farm and plans on living alone for the rest of his lift, if it wasn't for his friends. He finds that he is matched and most go into the city to meet his match. When June and Eron first meet they have to be physically pulled apart. June has to decide if she wants to stay on the alien planet with her soul mate or go back to Earth.

This is a quick insta lust/love story with no heavy lifting. June after losing a bet finds herself matched to an alien. Color her surprised as she had no clue that aliens were for real. Eron is in self-exile on a farm and is uncertain if he wants to be matched despite all of the females of his species being in comas and unable to be awoken.

Of course, once these two set eyes on each other it’s all they can do to keep themselves clothed. Secrets are revealed, these two go very quickly to the “I love yous” within a day of being together. It’s a cute story with the only twist is that Eron has four arms. So if you are looking for something light to read without much angst you have found it.

Eron was a good second entry to this series of themed alien warriors finding their mates through an online matching service.
Lead June loses a bet with her best friend and has to sign up with no intention of accepting a match if one is found. Little does she realize that match will be alien and she will soon be leaving Earth for a very interesting adventure as unfolding events conspire to put her right where she needs to be.
The writing was nice, and the narrative fast paced with spice, romance and personal issues on the hero Eron’s part snagging the path to happiness. All works out in the end and a pleasant read was delivered.

Loosing a drunken bet with her happily married best friend sees June signing up at a dating agency. The next thing she knows is that having been matched she is travelling across space to meet her intended partner, who happens to be a hot, gruff alien.

Eron does his best to ignore the sizzling instantaneous attraction between the two but just can't help himself. He had every intention of walking away to preserve his secret but his possessive jealousy sees him carrying her off to his remote farm.

A really wonderful, hot romance with great characters and some hilarious misunderstandings. Skye has a knack for producing absorbing, entertaining, funny page turner romances and this is another fantastic addition.

This is a Starlight Highlander Mail Order Brides book 2. This love story is for Eron and June. I hated how the Ordering process is done in secret and it seems like the women are tricked, but I know it is for the good of all kind. I loved how June was so against being a bride only once she got there she was all in. I loved that Eron was holding his secret and just meeting June changed him I just hope the medical thing gets fixed too. I loved that Eron took June to see his sister too. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book.

❤❤ ENTERTAINING AND FUNNY

June was so sorry for making a bet with her best friend Anna.

She now found herself trapped in this dating agency with the ridiculously garish logo.

She was literally screwed...

-----------------------

A science fiction romance read in one go, with an adorable background story, beautiful characters, feelings, humor, action and some unexpected surprises.

I personally would have liked a much, much longer last part of the book to enjoy it more, because the end of the novel is very fast.

I loved the interactions of the couple Eron / June.
Ah if only it were possible to adopt a Taïgei...

Looking forward to the continuation of this series!!!

Eron runs a taigeis farm on Albya. The women in this story line are in a deep comma. They are they to wake them but in the mean time the males are finding their fate mates. In comes June. She and a few other have won a shopping trip and the adventure begins. Eron has doubts about this finding a mate thing but his antennae come to tell him to get going his adventure is underway. Funny. Conflicting thoughts but attraction is there. the series of this storyline is fun and about the importance of finally finding a mate to their world. Good read. no cliff.

June and Eron seem like an unlikely pair to start with. I had to smile at at the insta-heat and alpha behaviour at their first meeting. With so many differences between these worlds, I thoroughly enjoyed the creativity in the world building. Discovering some of the hidden details was nice, but I felt that the story ended just when things were starting to happen. In the end it seemed like a HFN for June and Eron as the series focus shifts to another character.

I loved this book just as much as I did the first one! Every time this author put out a book I automatically read it. June lost a bet so the terms of her loss make her sign up for the dating agency. It could be worse, the dating agency has really gorgeous Highlanders for June to pick from but they are aliens. Eron decides to take himself away from society and surrounds himself with a little furry creatures. He is surprised to be informed that he has a meet from earth and that she would be here in the next couple days. Eron in no way, shape or form wants a meet until he meets June. June was tricked into signing up for the dating agency when she lost a bet with her best friend. Eron is a farmer who has left society behind to be alone. June and Eron were matched and once they meet the sparks start to fly. Both are unsure of having a mate and have doubts and second thoughts about staying together. Will they be able to work out their issues and stay together? Read the book, it's amazing. Great characters, wonderful and original story. Skye MacKinnon has done it again with Eron, amazing story.
