Qin Mian opened his eyes and found himself lying in a leaky thatched room. The problem was that he was still in his family’s villa beforehand! What’s more, there was another man lying next to his leg in the quilt!
“You, you, who are you?”
The man sat up quietly, his upper body exposed as looked at Qin Mian for a moment before he carried a worn out bowl with a cracked corner from the low table at the head of the bed. The man said in a muffled voice, “Wife, drink water.”
Qin Mian’s eyes rolled backwards and he passed out.
I thought this was a ger novel because of the mpreg tag, but there's no ger in this setting. There is definitely MC and ML's biological kids being born but it's done under cultivation rather than typical mpreg. Also, even though there's cultivation involved, it's not really the focus so there's no deeper explanation about it. This is a slice of life with typical farming and business that suddenly transitioned into slight court drama by the end. I was a little disoriented with their sudden involvement with the court but I also think it's not particularly a bad thing, in my opinion.
Unlike other novels where MC and ML completely cutting off their ties with their family early on so they 'legally' have no responsibility for them, MC and ML is a little tolerant about ML's greedy parents here. Yes, they separate their household and did their best to avoid being taken advantage of by not giving in, but they are still restricted with 'filial piety', so they couldn't be ruthless to them as they want. Because of that, family drama obviously ensues and I just enjoyed watching it like some nosy neighbor.
I also loved the twins. They're so adorable, sensible and clever without dropping the characteristic of being kids. The family dynamic is just sweet and warm and I think it's one of the best things in this novel. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot from beginning to the end.
Nice story over all. Starts with a calming farming life in ancient times, working hard and slowly building a decent life. Healthy relationship between the protagonists with some face slapping. The plot becomes a bit loose closer to the end ( things falling into place easily and the main characters becoming too OP ).
I'm still processing how good this novel was! I was caught off guard because I thought it would be a slice-of-life story without any surprises. I've read others with similar premises and I knew what I wanted when I picked this one...This happened for not checking the tags 😂.
I got my relaxing book with lots of cooking and a sweet love story, but also cool cultivation plots, wars, court schemes, and BABIES! I thought I was crazy when the book left clues hinting at babies! Hahahaha I was so happy to see it come true 😭. There were twins! Both with very different personalities but equally lovely.
I enjoyed this novel so much that I can't put it into words. The quiet life while farming, and the intriguing part at the capital, I can't choose which one I liked the most. Also, when they got to modern times in the end it was very fun!! It's like reading 3 different novels with the same characters you love 😭.
And let's not forget the amazing couple ❤️! The slow burn was so good! Their feelings were so natural and it made me feel jealous. I want a husband like Lei Tie 😭. He has ruined me for life...
It’s basically a transmigrator from modern times moves to an ancient world, builds a family with the stoned face black sheep of the Lie family. Both have secrets about their pasts. Focus is on building a life together that includes starting businesses and jointly fighting against the oppressive family members. It’s more lighthearted than the typical transmigration/cultivation novel. Worth reading once.
The novel reminds me is kinda similar to The Only Favourite Ugly Husband (TOFUH) by 决绝. With a transmigrator from modern times, involving some form of mpreg, in ancient times, with horrible familial relationships. I can't really choose which novel I prefer, as they have different aspects that I like.
Well, this novel is probably the first (that I have read so far and that I recall) novel where the MC/ ML knows about the plot background before the reader. There was a "[explanation is omitted here]" in one of the chapters! The plot background is eventually revealed when necessary, so don't fret!
Unlike TOFUH, I would say the filial piety in this novel is slightly stronger. MC didn't forsake/ cut off ML's bad relatives immediately, and the bad relatives are fewer? Some of ML's brothers have some sort of conscience, but of course, we have the ever-greedy and dumb relatives as well.
Regarding the plot about slavery/ owning a person's title deed etc.,
I remember there were about 3 "... this would later prove that XXXX is YYYY, but that is a story for later" kind of plot foreshadowing interspersed throughout the novel. One of them particularly stood out for me... because NOTHING HAPPENED.
But other than that, I feel that most of the plot was closed nicely, and there were minimal plot holes. The pacing was also pretty good, from MC being wary of ML to MC eventually being dependent / attached to ML. ML is such a taciturn, sweet and gentle man. In some ways, he reminds me of Lan Zhan (MDZS). But I have to say, both MC and ML are indeed OP... with extremely good luck, saving people who give great benefits. The interactions between MC and ML are sweet and fluffy, as they are both pretty attached to each other. Regarding the Mpreg plot, it's not in a traditional giving birth kind of way, but IMO it can be considered? At least, there are 2 cuties/ buns, although they mature too quickly..., which is understandable considering their birth and diet.
Overall, it's a pretty nice and relaxing read. Not much drama, quite a bit of face-slapping, pretty OP characters with good luck.
Rating: 3/5- I kinda enjoyed this read although from a sense perspective… it's pretty surreal.
The book is nonsensical overall.
There's almost no difficulties experienced by the characters once they meet and they're basically perfect and inclined to fame and fortune from the get go. The kids are perfect, the relationship is perfect, all the villains are s*upid… it's basically like nothing can ever go wrong which was quite boring and monotonous past volume 1.
Even the MC who was a scrawny, dirty s*ave child forced into underage marriage- is suddenly transformed into a model like god who is a cultivator in only but a few chapters. Their children grow into mature and well mannered miniature adults in the span of a few sentences… perhaps the author had varying stories in their mind and just put it all down… together… in the same book…?
There was just way too many themes mixed in that distract from a solid plot, like historical settings with cultivation then back to the future… yeah it was a mess.
I also disliked how easily Qin Mian accepted s*avery with an attitude of "when in Rome". You'd think a modern person sent back into time would feel more strongly about dealing with people using title deeds. It's a horrible theme that's used in this book and the author didn't even try to express more criticism towards it.
I didn't love any of the characters. Period. No one was likeable. Not even the kids… and I actually love reading about kids.
I prefer thought, complexity, emotion and character in my books so this fell very short of a decent plot BUT it's still a killer when it comes to relaxing your mind. I really don't know why it was so good as a read to literally calm me TF down after a rough day. So in that department this passes as a read to get your mind off of stuff.
Overall opinion: read it when you just want to pass some time or calm down, with your entire brain switched off (I read this to get my mind off work). Don't expect anything fantastic.

3.8 foi interessante. o casal é bem construído, e a história tem um bom ritmo, mas o final ficou meio disperso. + o mc tem um daqueles espaços especiais de armazenamento .
