When NADIA COLEMAN crashes into the cold and aloof CEO, LUCA SHOLA. She’s embarrassed by her calamitous first impression and he’s not amused by her either.
Until they meet again on the dance floor and they can’t deny the intoxicating pull they feel for each other.
But, they’ve got secrets to hide and there’s no place for love in their lives.
Nadia’s determined to rid her life of a man that's abused her by destroying the secret society that’s allowed him the freedom to do so.
Luca’s tied to an abusive woman of his grandfather’s choosing while being groomed as the next leader of the Syndicates.
The more Nadia and Luca learn about each other, the more their lives become entangled, but for two people scarred by trauma, can they find the strength in themselves to hold on to each other and the love blossoming between them?
Me Too is an interracial romance filled with comedy, suspense and subtle hints of the Myth of Hades and Persephone sprinkled amongst the pages of this sweet love story.
I selected this ARC to read based upon the original book cover which had a brown skin woman dancing in a yellow dress with a daisy in her hair.
That original book cover and the story that is told within its pages is a total disconnect. Does she dance? Yes—though not professionally. There is now a newer book cover, that is yet again, far too whimsical for the supposed sweet (not) love story expressed in the synopsis and the actual story that was told.
This story is dark. There is torture and abuse endured by the H/h at the hands of merciless people. The story centers around them both trying to extricate themselves from the claws of their abusers and to bring down the secret society known as the Syndicates.
It’s a secret society among the Uber Rich (much like, I suspect disgraced Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein was a member of), where anything, and anyone can be bought for the right price. A society where these types of Titans of Industry are damn near untouchable because so many people in integral parts of society are in their pockets, by choice or by force.
This book is 150 pages (I skimmed) too long and this story could have benefited from another round of succinct editing. Clearly, this author is a good writer and with the right story I’d definitely consider reading a strictly romance story by her.
Triggers Abound: Physical/Sexual/Mental Abuse, BDSM, Torture, Stalking, Degradation, Erotica and Drug Use.
The first thing I would like to say about this novel is that, in my personal opinion, it sincerely should be a bestseller. The word I'm looking for that highlights my thoughts on it is 'iconic'. There are just too many lessons in this book that are so well-woven into the story not to express this, to be honest.
(PLEASE DO MIND THE CONTENT WARNINGS! I can handle dark content, but it's important to be aware that really serious traumas are highlighted in this book and talked about! It's very emotional!)
I'll give some background on myself-- I practically NEVER stray from my chosen genre, which is fantasy. I tend to get incredibly bored with any genre aside from it, but I wanted to give it a try and support this. I did not expect to eat this book up over the course of two days, nor to be crying, gasping, or cheering the entire time I was reading this. Let me tell you something important: This book reaches ACROSS GENRE and can hook people like me who pretty much never stray. This novel had so much to offer me as a fantasy reader, even though it wasn't in my genre. And I think that's important to mention.
I haven't read many romance novels absent of fantasy, but this novel seriously, in my opinion, highlights the most important things that should be seen in relationships. The toxic relationships are on the nose--as they should be. It's far too often that toxic relationships are put on a pedestal in media, and "Me Too" laughs in the face of that. No--Nadia x Luca is built in a very beautiful fashion, with their ups and downs, and consent is emphasized with them wholeheartedly. I'm going to say just that for now in this top part of the review, though, as I do spoilers in the middle so I can have a more in-depth discussion.
Before I get into that, however, I want to mention the fantasy-thing one more time. There are references, quite a bit, to Hades x Persephone from Greek Mythology, and I was LIVING for it. Not to mention the discussion of fantasy novels, and some phrases similar to "We'll slay the dragon together later" (I noted the exact phrase but can't find it right this second, so I'll say I'm in the ballpark with it.) Therefore, I was thrown into their world with dazzling eyes even though I wasn't reading what I was used to.
Also, I do want to mention the blending of Hawi'i culture here, as someone who isn't from said culture (I am white, native to the Northeast United States). I think it was wonderful to learn a bit about it in this novel, and I was thrilled to be here for that. It was educational in that fashion, something I feel more of my fellows should pay attention to and appreciate the beauty of the cultures. Because it was so beautiful in this novel. Nadia learning the language (and knowing several languages prior) is just so wonderful, she's, as I said, iconic as can be.
And now, without further ado, I'm going to talk about specifics.
**SPOILERS START!** We get into Nadia pretty much slamming or tripping into Luca, which we find out later in the book is due to her brain trauma from the break-in via Jonathan. It was interesting how that trope (the 'clumsy but awesome') was explained in a super realistic, and very sad, fashion.
I'm going to jump around a bit and come back to what I was talking about, but wanted to mention Jonathan and treating Nadia like that "kitten" was a good example of BDSM relationships in a very wrong, horrible fashion, and how some doms will be abusive/take advantage of subs. Not true BDSM, which is actually shown with Luca x Nadia, who have a safeword (Petals, how utterly fantastic). There was EXCELLENT contrast shown here! A toxic vs. nontoxic BDSM relationship, and taking it slow after the abuse, which was just super important. There are so many lessons in this novel, but this right here is what I LOVE to see, and what NEEDS to be seen in general.
Note that Nadia being shown to need to count to calm down is very important. She's shown as vulnerable and needing others to calm down--and that is okay. This should be shown and understood to people. No one can have iron skin, and we all need help sometimes. I think the way this was handled in the book was just so excellent. It shows the effect of abuse and how, sometimes, you CANNOT stand against it without breaking down. And that's okay.
The other lesson that needs to be seen is male abuse and r*pe. Luca was unfortunately dealt both with Ciara, who also was displayed being extremely manipulative, apologizing and trying to make it up to him with the fake tears. This actually shows the issue with 'white women tears' as well, and how men will be taken advantage of in this fashion. This is a lesson I think all of my fellow white women really need to pay attention to, because it's wrong and on display here, even if subtle in some cases (I saw it, I applaud it for being brought up, because unfortunately it is reality.) Luca rightfully was concerned that this would get him into a huge amount of trouble if it was brought up. Also, however, the fact that he was worried he would not be taken seriously either. There were instances of "Wait, how could someone like her overpower you?" as well, but this book shows that it's just not that simple. It's never that simple, and these things need to be taken very seriously.
His grandfather, Gregory, was disgusting and terrible. Not much to say other than I want to see him ripped to shreds wholeheartedly.
I liked the positive relationship shown with Luca and his family as well. I saw a little bit of Lacey but loved how fierce she was and just the amount of love there despite what they went through with their grandfather. His bubbly father was lovely, and his mother very warm.
Raquel was a huge treat, I loved seeing her in the end, and just how fierce she was. Minerva was also just top notch best friend, like I was cheering her on for being such a wonderful person.
I enjoyed the guards as well! I was wondering to myself: "Wait do CEOs have a ton of guards in real life too?!" I'm still curious, to be honest. It's a world I've never seen before, so that was a new one.
The dancing was a JOY. I loved seeing the lighthearted moments crop up with those dance competitions. I just... everything about it filled me with happiness, and it came at the right times as well.
The whole Syndicate plotline was so worrying and engaging, and that's also what really had my attention, too. Would this horrible organization win out or be taken down? And YIKES were they horrible, seriously. These trafficking rings along with their treatment of people in general were on full display in this book. I don't doubt this activity does happen in real life as well.
There is so much more I could say, but I think that's the gist of it, without making this TOO long! Oh, right, one more spoiler. Called Nadia's pregnancy when I saw the sickness! I was so excited to see that. So happy for the Queen!
**END SPOILERS**
All in all, this novel is a treasure, and I highly recommend it even to fantasy readers who might want to dip their toes into another genre every so often. As I said, I don't ever do this, and it was a very pleasant surprise.
The office and CEO themes were not overdone. To me, that setting is kind of boring(though was not in this book), but somehow Eli made it very interesting and enjoyable to read. Those scenes were not a drag at all. They weren't drawn out and unbearable, and in fact, it was cool learning about that sort of ideology as well. I don't know much about shareholders, CEOs, marketing, and all of that, but it was neat seeing that environment in action. There was also an important lesson in there too, how minorities are looked down upon and seen as 'token' when they are perfectly qualified (usually even more so) than their white counterparts. Nadia wiped the floors with everyone she came into contact with, and kept her chin up even at the rare loss.
I think I covered everything I wanted to say off of the top of my head! This book deserves all 5 stars and even more. As I said in the beginning, I feel like it should be a bestseller, as there are far too many important lessons in this book that pop up.
I would read the sequel, as well as other works by Eli. Especially fantasy, can't wait to nab more of those from her.
Pick this book up for an amazing romantic treat choc full of very healthy lessons on consent and the contrast between toxic vs. nontoxic relationships. It's so nice to see proper BDSM representation, as well, for a change!
Note: I was given a free "Advanced Reader Copy" of this novel in exchange for an honest review. I will be getting the physical copy for my collection upon release.
I have to admit I picked this book because I liked the cover and the title. This is the first story by Eli B that I am reading and I have say I want to read more!
Luca and Nadia are such a cute couple. They meet when Nadia falls for Luca, no literally falls into him in the elevator on her very first day of work. Then there is Nervy, or Minerva. She is Nadia's best friend. She knows everything about Nadia. She is that best friend that you have to love if you plan to love Nadia. There is also Cameron, Luca's bestfriend. He falls for Nervy when they first meet at a club where Minerva and Nadia take on Luca and Cameron in a dance battle.
Nadia took the job at Schola to get information on the Syndicate, a group of very wealthy and well connected men who will stop at nothing to do what they want, when they want. Luca's grandfather is the leader, Duke, of this group, and he has Luca bound to Ciera who is the daughter of another member of the group. The plan is to 'clean his bloodline' by having him and the daughter of another Syndicate family be together. But he didn't plan on Nadia and Luca meeting and becoming friends who then become more than friends.
Luca and Nadia have a lot in common. They both love to dance, they like to read and read the same genre and the same books. They also both want to take down the Syndicate. Luca because of what his grandfather has done to him and Nadia for what one of the other members, Johnathan, has done to Nadia.
This book was really good. I really like the Hades and Mr. Underworld nicknames that Nadia gives to Luca. I also really like that Luca likes reading to Nadia. Even though he knows that the book he is reading to her is about a guy that she refers to as her book boyfriend.
I can't wait to read more by Eli B. If this story is any indication of what a great writer she is, she is on her way to becoming one of my favorite authors.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Me Too is the beautifully broken love story I didn't know I needed. Nadia and Luca believe they are destined for only darkness, but watching them battle through it is....breathtaking. The characters are written in a form where they are easily relatable and I find this book therapeutic to the broken soul. Nadia's fire is one not easily burned out and is truly magnificent. She isn't the typical invulnerable heroine that always ends up fine. No, she is broken like many of us. She is broken but the fire inside keeps burning despite the darkness surrounding her. Luca is the Mmman of fantasies but is broken too. He doesn't let his brokenness prevent him from being there when she needs him, even as he battles his demons. He tries to hide the vulnerability and shattered pieces, but the author gives us a refreshing look to see the men we believe to be perfect or cold are human too.
I can not say enough good about this book and I will continue to share my love for it. I recommend this book any lovers of the Greek story of Hades and Persephone, as well as lovers of the Billionaire romance trope. Please read all the triggers warnings before deciding to read this book. It may not be for everyone, but is a story worth reading.
I absolutely loved this story. The love these two characters share is what most of us want for ourselves. The characters are realistic, the story is so entertaining and hopefully, there is more to come. I'm not really a romance reader. I don't mind reading it, but not really my favorite genre. this book, however, I really liked. This is so much more than a romance novel.
********SPOILERS******* This is a romance, action novel with a little fantasy thrown in for fun. This is the story of two people who through their own trauma have decided the same thing about love, it is not for them. Until Nadia bumps into Luca. I have to say I did not like Nadia at first. I do not find clumsiness endearing as a lot of romance readers do. Once I found out why she was clumsy it made her character so much better for me. Neither of them knew they would end up with each other or that they were after the same thing.
There were a few things I really liked about this book. First, the exploration of male abuse. We do not talk about it a lot, but it happens more often than we think. The abuse Luca endures in this book is not overdone and is just as horrible if it was a woman. Eli did an excellent job showing Luca's pain and helplessness in this situation.
Second, I really liked all the villains. When we think of villains in a story, we think of one. That's bad enough, but every bad person in this novel needed to be there. They served a purpose. From Luca's "girlfriend", to his grandfather and Nadia's tormenter. It made for some edge-of-your-seat reading.
Third, how slow the burn was. It was really necessary for Luca and Nadia to take this slow. The position they were both in, this story would not be believable if they just jumped on each other a couple of chapters in. They both had way too much trauma for that.
And finally, the use of Hawai'i as Luca's background. Learning about Koa Maile and the Hawaiian language used in the book and reading about his Tutu and grandmother. I just loved it all.
****************END OF SPOILERS**************
Eli has done a beautiful job of crafting a romance novel that isn't a romance novel. There is so much going on in this book, you are along for the ride with Luca and Nadia and forget they are falling in love. I plan to buy this book and put it on my shelf when it comes out. And then after the new year, I might read it again.
*Content Warnings: domestic violence, rape (off page), panic attacks, anxiety, attempted suicide, and racism (very much so)*
I enjoyed reading this books so much!! I'm giving it 4 stars!! This is such a good debut romantic suspense novel.
I really enjoyed how much Nadia and Luca's relationship slowly built from friends to lovers. They such tender, wholesome, and loveable moments together. Especially since they were each going through so much dark stuff and I felt so bad for them and I'd definitely never wanna be in their situation.
I felt like the way bdsm was handled and introduced was also well done. I definitely would've like to see more of how it would've played out with Nadia and Luca's dynamic but I feel like the pace they went matched their healing process and I was fine with them not fully showing what their into but instead taking their time.
The suspense was definitely a slow build and at times I would get frustrated with how helpless the main characters would be and wishing they could just immediately stab the people causing alm their issues. I overall enjoyed it and it definitely picked up and got more dramatic to the end.
I do think at times the conversations Nadia and Luca's had would get repetitive but also they were just extremely reassuring to each other and that really matched the trauma they've experienced and the lack of genuine romantic love they have had.
I loved the side characters and Cameron and Minerva a lot!! Also bonus points for having a book soundtrack because now I have some amazing new music to add to my rotation.
Overall I think this is such a promising start to the authors writing career and after reading the sneak peek for the next book with Nadia's cousin. I'm extremely excited and will be pre-ordering!
**There are trigger warnings for this story to be aware of. Abuse and sexual assault is mention, but never graphically written in extensive detail. Most is mentioned in terms of back story for Nadia and Luca. Some mentions of it are more in present tense with the story.**
This story was absolutely amazing. I stumbled upon a post of the author promoting it and immediately was intrigued. I fell in love with this story from the first page when Nadia and Luca have their disastrous meet cute.
At first glance they aren't at all similar, but as they story goes on and who they are and what they love is revealed they are more alike than meets the eye. These kindred spirits have the same love, passion, dedication, and protectiveness that makes up their very being. But they also have similar trauma, and become a support and comfort to each other through the events that unfold in the story.
The secrets they both hide could very well tear them apart or bring them closer together. I couldn't get enough of this story. I love it so much. Not only is it diverse in many ways, but it is full of comedy, suspense and subtle hints of the Myth of Hades and Persephone. It is such a well crafted story that brings light to some topics that aren't always approached in literature. I can't wait to see what else Eli B will write. Thank you Booksprout for an arc.
Really dark romance. This was a very difficult book for me to read and it seems excruciatingly slow. Spoilers - This is a story about two people who were and are abused/tortured. I found it painful. I got half way through and decided to skip to the end for the HEA. It wasn’t badly written, just not my cup of tea.

This is my first time reading from this author but not my last . This book is an interesting read the characters have a great connection and I want to see what's next in the upcoming books .

Every character was so interesting and fun. I love Nadia she's so strong and beautiful. I'll never get enough of Hades and Persephone retellings. I laughed and cried and would read a million times. How was this book free?!?!
I remember reading the version she had on Wattpad and loving it. This version blew my expectations out of orbit. I absolutely loved reading this and would most definitely recommend it to everyone.
Absolutely obsessed with the characters, the plot, the setting... It was all really well written and and the pacing was great. Please pay attention to the trigger warnings! The flashbacks and depictions of abuse and violence are quite intense and written very realistically, so just be careful when reading. Much appreciation to the author for an excellent book. My only complaint, as a reader who has been following the book via drafts posted to Patreon, is that I miss some of the small moments between Luca and Nadia and their friends and family. Other than that? I highly recommend.
I received an ARC of this novel and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am obsessed with this book. I started it on Wattpad... followed her to Patreon and finally read it again as an ARC. It is so good. The realness of it mixed with a heavy dose of romance, pain, and love was everything. This is a book where the Dominant gets to be a real guy with insecurities and scars and it never takes away from him being her dominant and the reader never feels lacking at all. It is magically done! 10/10

I have to say that this book was absolutely everything for me. Eli B had me crying and yelling at the book. I loved how she explored the experience of male sexual trauma and domestic violence. I loved how their love conquered all the trials and tribulations that stood in their way. OMG I was upset that it ended.
Author Eli B was previously unknown to me and I took a chance on her debut novel, Me Too. This is the story of two very damaged people, main characters Nadia and Luca, who are drawn to each other. She is a brilliant, charismatic and ambitious, but broken woman on a mission to avenge some atrocities committed against her. Luca is powerful, attractive and driven in the business setting, but equally as broken in matters pertaining to family obligations and following his heart toward the woman he loves. These two have crazy chemistry and on the surface they fit together nicely, yet there are substantial malevolent forces determined to keep them apart. Despite the objections and violence of their oppressors, Nadia and Luca decide they want to be together so they devise a plan to remove the obstacles standing between them and their happily ever after. There are a lot of dark forces at play in this story. Will they ultimately get their happily ever after? Definitely grab a copy of this book and find out. The story is well worth the read.
This book is a MUST READ!!💜💜💜 This book was unexpected and everything! It was difficult at times as there were very hard topics discussed, but it was well-written and discussed between parties in a manner that was appropriate. You have two people who are free to move about fairly normal, but are actually prisoners to 2 powerful men who will stop at nothing to get what they want. Luca and Nadia were both working toward a common goal, but they just didn’t know it, but once everything was revealed the two who had already become close grew even closer, and dare I say needed one another. The characters surrounding our mains are exceptional. Their personalities make the darkness in the book worth getting to the laughter and light. I would love a sequel because *no spoilers,* but there’s more to unravel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

WARNING!!! This book is DEFINITELY not for the weak. Or even the emotionally romantic. This book had me in feeling so long I had to stop so many times and look for my squishy ball.
I have to admit, this the first time I’ve ever read anything from this author, and not only that. This book is the first of many that I have planned to read. I even want to check out Luca’s and Nadia’s reading list.
I’M so looking forward to seeing if Raquel can tell her story. Hint hint…
Any opinions expressed within this review are solely and uniquely made by me and I am happily leaving this review. I originally voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book via bsprout.
The author did a good job with some serious subjects. It’s not the kind of book I would normally read, as I am not comfortable with abuse, mostly because I cannot understand how anyone could choose to hurt someone else so irrevocably. But for those who need those lessons-learned, I think it was handled respectfully. For me, the focus is on support systems, and finding a path to discover what actual love is (because abuse is never an act of love, it’s hatred even if generated toward oneself).
Grab your copy to read the story of Nadia Coleman and Luca Shola for a more thorough coverage the topic.
Nadia Coleman and CEO Luca Shola's story kept me turning pages, it has suspense, drama, danger, evil, twists, turns, villains, and romance. It seems like there is going to be another book for more of their story. This is a new Author to me and it looks like this is her debut book. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Me, Too is a riveting work by Eli B. The author skillfully depicts sensitive subject matter in a respectful and coherent manner. NADIA COLEMAN and CEO, LUCA SHOLA have a lot in common even though it does not appear so at first. Nadia is still in recovery from an extraordinarily abusive relationship and Luca is currently in the center of relationship that is both unwanted and monstrous. He is under the control of his grandfather and has been ordered to marry Ciara, the daughter of a business associate. Ciara is both his would be girlfriends and one of his abusers. Nadia and Luca both have missions to eradicate the abusers in their lives. Nadia recognizes in the Luca the signs of an abuse victim and tries to reach out to him. They become supportive friends not knowing that their missions dovetail. I spent quite a bit of the book waiting for them to compare notes! The book has a bit of everything: a sweet love story, secret societies, action, drama, suspense, mystery and friendship. I loved the secondary characters, and the villains were beyond vile. The book ended with a happy for now stance and I enjoyed every breathless minute.

Wow❤️ this story really blew me away! Nadia and Luca’s journey was a wild roller coaster of action, adventure, suspense and most importantly, finding ways to overcome their dark pasts and hurts. Nadia is the perfect flawed heroine who refuses to give up on life and Luca is sensitive, thoughtful, caring and kind. They fit each other perfectly and I really enjoyed the side characters as well, especially Raquel and Minerva. I thought the dance battles were fun breaks in between the heavy seriousness of the story, and the cute banter between Nadia and Luca was everything! I also loved the Hawaiian culture being incorporated throughout. This was a great read and I look forward to reading so much more by Eli B!
Different is good. I'm more of a traditional love story girl, this book had my emotions all over the place. That's not a bad thing. I will admit that this book was kind of long, the dance battles did nothing for me and a few times I questioned the security abilities. I also wasn't a fan of the strings that were left hanging but what can you do.
The things I did like was how well written and the care taken with Luca's trauma. I loved that Nadia and Luca were friends first. My first story by this author, not my last
This is my first time reading Eli B but it most definitely won’t be my last time. Me Too was an interesting and captivating read. Nadia and Luca were well written and developed characters who had a great connection and chemistry. The storyline was excellent with great word building. It’s a slow burn but heats up when it was warranted! I don’t usually give new authors a try because I usually end up being disappointed but I would highly recommend this book! I look forward to what's next from this author!

I really wish I could give this book four stars. I can’t because it really was too long. A good editor would have trimmed this down without disturbing what was a good story line. Please invest in an editor for your readers’ enjoyment.
This is not a hate towards the book, the cover is stunning but this book was a dark romance I was not expecting. It was good, so good. The plot had me so intrigued and I loved the relationship between Nadia and Luca.
