I vow to never put any of my MC brothers in a position like that again!
I had to tell his younger sister that he was dead...
I was swallowed by guilt the entire flight back from Afghanistan.
Quinn's death is on me and I can't get it out of my head!
He was more than just a fellow soldier or friend, he was a brother to me and I couldn't save him.
What good am I if I can't save my own brothers? I don't deserve to live!
The minute I saw her, it all came rushing back to me!
I had to save her!
Quinn told me about her pain and how he wanted to kill the man causing her pain.
Now that mission was my responsibility.
I could tell by the terror in her eyes, that she was hurting inside.
After she heard the news, she collapsed into my arms and that's when I knew..
I had to protect her
and in order to do that..
I had to make her mine!
But will that mean I have to become the savage I thought I left behind?

My first read by Autumn Summers and I was disappointed. I felt that the dialogue was poorly written and there was a lot of repetition. The first half of the book was better than the second. While I had some interest in the story, I found the writing style didn't draw me in to the characters.

Rainbows and unicorns and fluffy little bunnies would fit better than a motorcycle club book!
Story about a soldier who served with a guy who almost sounds like they were fudgr packing. One gets killed so the other goes to his sister to tell her he's dead, cause the military don't do that officially. He finds a brainless, helpless little girl who age wise is college age but acts like shes a very small child. Brother is her parent and he joins the service and does'nt bother to teach her how to defend herself, and does'nt teach her to shoor or get her a gun. This is set in Texas by the way or sounds like it by talking about how close Fort Hood is, author thinks mentally crazy sicko's are the only people who have ever been stationed at this place. Sorry for all those who have been stationed at Fort Hood but EVERYONE who has been there is a dangerous rabied person who should be destroyed is what she is selling. Never been there but I don't believe this. So if you enjoy no bad words, pitiful sex scenes and ectream prejudiced then this is right up your alley.
I thought I would check out this book by Autumn Summers since I haven't read any of her book before. I was disappointed. The dialogue was choppy and there really was no flow. The blurb that got me to read this book wasn't what I got. Scarlett's brother wasn't part of the MC, but a fellow soldier. The whole stalker thing didn't really add anything to the story. It got kind of choppy and I really have no idea what happened. It was a short read and left a lot of questions unanswered. The whole MC vote at the end didn't even make sense.
Oh my. I wanted to like this, the blurb made me think this book had potential but I was so wrong. Every predictable & trite stereotype was present from the get go...with giant holes in between. Was going to be a DNF but I had to follow the train wreck through - to the very abrupt ending. Not really a cliffhanger, the story just stopped after a disjointed chapter that made no sense. The whole book felt like someone brainstormed a story, did an outline but then didn't finish fleshing out the story. Skip this one.
The only "hero" moment was the removal of the Stalker. Reading about how the 2 main characters are just hooking up and no more after that. Just not what I am looking for in a romance. Also ridiculous to see a bunch of "heroes" ok with selling drugs and women as they talk about how they want to protect the innocent. Hate how women are abused. But it's ok if they use women as if they are disposable. Not going to bother with the rest of the series.
I'm confused...the while book is maybe a 24 hour time frame. Spoiler alert....
And in that 24 hours Scarlett was told her brother was dead, her ex stalker ramped up his efforts, Nine who she had never met before brought her to the clubhouse where they "took care of" her ex, she then got with Nine, and at the very end they're going to start a war. I'm so confused
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Heroes MC Fort Hood series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Nine sexy as all get out MC, tough as nails, soft/loving to those he cares about, and he is heading to see the sister of his best friend/brother to deliver some bad news. Quinn was his brother/friend and fellow soldier who died while in Afghanistan and feels guilty for not bring him back home now he has to tell his sister. Quinn death made him responsible for Scarlett in his book. Scarlett is Quinn’s sister, he was her protector, and she is feeling the hurt of his loss and also terrified because of her jerk ex who has/is threatening her and Nine wasn’t having any of it, she was his responsibility now! Convincing her to come with him to the club and promising to protect her allows them to get to know each other better. The chemistry is intense, and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but will he do as promise keep her safe, will her ex continue to threaten her, will he allow himself to heal letting go of the guilt and can they find happiness together?
Nine - Heroes MC Fort Hood - Book 1 - By - Autumn Summers
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was not what I expected. I had high hopes from the blurb but it just didn't seem to translate across in to the story for me unfortunately. Scarlett Hanson is being notified of the death of her beloved brother Quinn who was sadly killed in action in Afghanistan. Scarlett is notified by Army first Lieutenant Bryce Perry - who also goes by the name Nine within his MC. The story had great potential and was a great idea but it just didn't come across that well whilst reading it. The conversations were clipped and the action minimal unfortunately and the intimacy was hit and miss and after all of that the end was left with Scarlett going off to college no mention of her and Nine ending up together or even a happily for now ending, that did disappoint me but the overall story was left with an ending that was I'm guessing setting you up for the next book but I guess we will see. Happy Reading. Please note that I was given a free copy of this book for my honest review which is exactly what I have given. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Nice start to a new series. Mine has to deliver the worst news possible to a family member. After knocking on the door of Scarlett, the only family member to Quinn. Quinn had been killed from a sniper over in Afghanistan. Nine being his best friend he was now there to let Scarlett know. After telling her and staying with her for some time he left. Taking a motorcycle ride up to horribly high speeds. Then he realized that Scarlett needed him since she no longer has Quinn by her side. Going back to her house he realizes something is wrong with Scarlett. Scarlett finally broke down and told nine she had a stalker. He let her finish telling the story about her stalker. Nine tells her to pack a bag and takes her to the club house. While there they find out where he is by tracking the number that sent the last text and found out he was at FORT HOOD. Nine and the boys go take care of everything. When they get back Scarlett and Nine start a meaningful relationship.

Nine is Book One in the Heroes MC Fort Hood Series. This first book was an extremely short, fast read all about Nine and one of his MC brothers having to tell Scarlet that her brother Quinn has been killed in Afghanistan and we find out Nine blames himself he feels and he carries around the guilt for it, he believes it should have been him. He feels that its now his responsibility to take care of and protect Scarlet since her brother is no longer alive and able to. Right out the gate from telling her about her brothers death Nine learns that Scarlet is being stalked and harassed by a crazy ex boyfriend, so he immediately whisks her off to the club to keep her protected. But, just exactly who is Scarlet being protected from…This story seemed pretty rushed. Not a lot of information. Not much on details. Almost to short. Looking forward to the next book hopefully get more in order information to make some sense of everything. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.
Nine goes to see Scarlett, who is the sister of Quinn, his friend and fellow soldier to inform her of his death. They were in Afghanistan together and Nine feels a lot of guilt and that he should have died instead. He also feels responsible for Scarlett since it was Quinn's job to watch out for his sister and now he's gone. Scarlett was hurting over the loss of her brother and was also terrified. When Nine found out that her ex was threatening her, he decided to take her back to the club and told her she would never have to worry about her ex again and that he would always protect her.
Several things I wonder about---are they still in the military? At some points it sounds like they are but then they are starting the club. She is very young sounding yet I'm not sure of either of their ages. It was an ok start, I will have to see how it continues from here.

After the death of his friend and fellow soldier, Quinn in Afghanistan, Nine takes it upon himself to go and see Scarlett Quinn's sister he's suffering from survivors guilt, thinking he should have died instead - irrational maybe but grief can do that. He now feels it's up to him to be there for Scarlett the way Quinn would have been. There's no denying that Scarlett grieving the loss of her brother but there seems to be something else bothering her, then Nine discovers that her ex is threatening her. As far as he's concerned the obvious course of action is to take her back to the club and keep her safe.
Nine is a hard man with a soft and caring nature, he'll do anything to protect those important to him and that includes Scarlett. Nine and Scarlett are so good together, I loved how their relationship wasn't just about sex but also about mutual respect
Nine shows up at Scarlett’s door tasked with telling her horrible news. Scarlett’s brothers Quinn served in the same military unit as Nine and his brothers. Scarlett is wrecked by this news, and Nine is there to comfort her. But from what Nine knows of Scarlett he wants her. He can see the girl is exactly how Quinn describe her to be. Sweet, caring, always thinking of others. Nine has never felt this way towards a women. He wants to care and protect her, which is a current need. Scarlett has a stalker and her brother Quinn has shared with Nine this guy was trouble. But Nine will make sure nothing happens to her.
This is a new series by Autumn Summers and shows promise. This book sets up the next book Ranger, where the newly formed MC will have to make decisions on how they will earn money!

This is the first in a new series. It introduces the main characters who are veterans. Since they are done with their service they have settled in this area and are starting a MC. The two characters in this story are Nine and Scarlett. Scarlett’s brother died while in Afghanistan and Nine has come to pay his respects. While there he realizes that Scarlett needs some help and he is going to help her if he can. She has a stalker. I have read a lot of Autumn Summers books and loved them but this was very different, not up to her usual standards. It’s disjointed. It’s characters were clunky, they don’t really connect. There is no conclusion to the story - it just stops abruptly. You have no idea what happens.

With a heavy heart, Nine needed to tell a fallen comrade's sister of his passing. Remembering Quinn and what his sister meant to him only made telling her that much harder. Scarlett's brother was more like a father to her, he was there when she needed, that is until he was deployed. Then they would write back and forth. After his death, Nine stepped up to take care of Scarlett, especially when handling her ex/ stalker.
Nine is the fist book in the new series. It is heart wrenching with the lost, dangerous and suspenseful as Nine handles the stalker, heated and passionate when Scarlett and Nine act on the connection. Great start to the series.

By no means is this a MC! Yes, there is a "clubhouse" and the guys apparently ride bikes. There is no description of the clubhouse nor the bikes. Now, let's go on to how the author is basically bashing the military. The lack of any knowledge on basic military procedures, is sadly apparent.
Scarlett acts like a scared little girl. Nine, who knows that his real name is, supposedly is there to help her and inform her of her older brother's death. Now, that is actually the job of the military. Not of a veteran after the fact. Notice of death to the family is normally done within 24 hours. Leaving the military is not done in a snap of the fingers, it takes time and paperwork.
3.5 stars First things first; I like the cover of this book! Nine is the first book in the ‘’heroes MC fort hood’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Nine has some news to deliver to his late friends little sister. What he doesn’t expect is for more to happen when he meets her. The chemistry between Nine and Scarlett is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the ending of this book. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an entertaining read. I look forward to more books from this series.
Nine is back home from the war and promised his friend he would look out for his sister. Scarlett is being stalked and although reluctant accepts help from Nine. I found this story confusing to follow and disappointing. After getting together, with Nine taking care of the threat Scarlett goes back to college; then it felt like and entirely new story started. Based on the last part of the book it seems like they are starting a new MC and Nine is the President but that was never clearly stated or maybe I missed it...

Nine had been part of the military team with Scarlett's brother Quinn, he had found her to tell her the news of Quinn's death because it should have been him driving that vehicle, so it would have been him in the snipers sights. Quinn had told Nine about the trouble Scarlett was having with an ex and when he saw some of the text messages she'd received he knew he couldn't leave her alone in her home until the situation was sorted out. As Scarlett left her home with Nine she hadn't felt so safe in ages. Could there be something between them even though they'd only just met?

This is the 1st book in the new series Heroes MC Fort Hood. These guys are all former military men who served together. His friend, Quinn, was killed by a snipers bullet and he feels guilty because he had Quinn drive the humvee instead of himself. He promised Quinn he would look after and protect his sister,Scarlett, if anything happened to him. Now, he breaks the news to her and sees how devastated she is and wants to help her. She’s not only all alone, but dealing with a crazy stalker ex boyfriend. Good start and I’m looking forward to more in this series.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I was looking forward to reading their short story. Nine is in the position of telling Scarlett of her brothers death. They both served together and Nine has survivors guilt. She is young and having some problems of her own. I thought there could have been a really good story for these characters but it seemed somewhat disjointed. Both Nine and Scarlet were confusing at times. There have been books that Autumn has written that I have really enjoyed. I will still look for those books even if this one missed the mark for me

Coming home from deployment was meant to be a good time, but for Nine losing his best friend and brother Quinn in as one day before leaves hime bereft and having to tell Quinns sister Scarlett her loss. Butbsoon Nine discovers Scarletts problem with her ex and Nine vows to do what he couldn't for her brother, protect her at all costs. Well written engaging story line and well developed characters, can't wait for more of this new series!

Nine and Maverick go to see Scarlett to let her know of her brother's death, only for her to let him know she needs protection. This was dramatic, scary and intense as Scarlett had to deal with both the death of her brother, and the psycho ex being abusive and threatening her. It was such a good book and I really liked how Nine was towards Scarlett. Very well written with fantastic characters. Love that team spirit!!

Having to be the bearer of bad news to anyone is difficult enough, now compound that with having to tell your best friend's younger sister that her only remaining family is gone is heart wrenching. Add in survivors guilt and attraction to said younger sister and you have a very interesting and complicated dilemma. This is the first story in a new series and I like where this is going. Pick it up for yourself and enjoy the ride!

I had to double check several times that this was written by Autumn Summers. I’ve read other books by this author that I really enjoyed and liked very much. I don’t t know what happened here. The story was poorly constructed and very rushed with multiple tangents. The main characters had no relationship development. But I actually have no idea if they have a relationship or not - they have sex and then she goes off to school the next day and isn’t mentioned again. I am hopeful for a turnaround with the next book.
Nine and Scarlett meet when he and Maverick show up to tell her that her brother Quinn will not be returning from Afghanistan. Nine becomes her support system, along with the rest of the guys from the MC that is just forming. They take care of her by taking care of her vicious stalker. The characters and storyline is just building and a good foundation is there. Can not wait to see how some of the others work within the group.

Nine is sexy and tough as nails. Keeping a promise he goes to see the Scarlett the sister of his best friend, Quinn who died while in Afghanistan he has to tell his her. Quinn made him responsible for Scarlett. Now only does she have to deal with the loss of her brother, but her is ex who is threatening her. Nine feels he is responsible for and gets her to come with him to the club and promises to protect her . The chemistry is intense, but can he let his guilt go, so the two of them can have a life.
