Eon Warriors #9

King of Eon

Rate this book
The King of the Eon Warriors has decided to take a Terran as his bride…but finds himself shockingly attracted to the tough, beautiful Space Corps officer in charge of his potential brides’ security.

King Gayel Solann-Eon is dedicated to his people and empire. His father was a hard man and a rigid king, but Gayel is doing things his own way. That includes working with his allies to defeat the ravenous insectoid Kantos. To strengthen the alliance with Earth, he’ll put his own wants and needs aside and take a Terran bride. But as the group of bridal candidates arrive on the Eon homeworld, he’s shocked by a stunning attraction to the Space Corps officer in charge of their security.

Captain Alea Rodriguez has worked hard to escape her awful childhood and make something of herself. Space Corps is her family and her work is her life. Escorting a group of women to an alien planet so a king can pick a bride has left her feeling like she’s on a reality television show. But she takes her job seriously and will keep them safe. What she never expected was her own powerful reaction to the alien warrior king.

Stealth attacks by the Kantos make it clear that no one is safe. Alea is sure that the aliens want to assassinate Gayel, and she’ll do anything to protect him, even as she fights to safeguard her heart. But Gayel is a king and a warrior, and as the two of them fight side by side, he will also convince Alea to risk everything: for their people, for their hearts, and for a bond that won’t be denied.

The thrilling conclusion to the Eon Warriors series.

Excellent ending to this series! Loved the story arc, which went through all the books.
The characters were well rounded and I think everyone will have their favourites! The narration was spot on and I didn’t get bored listening to her at all. Her male and female voices were very good and you could tell who was who.
I loved the story and am excited about the spin off!

It was a joy to revisit this series, and I found myself just as captivated as before, enjoying every exciting moment again.

I truly enjoy how Anna skillfully tells stories in different genres, engaging readers and drawing them into well-developed worlds. After reading many of her books, I can say that each one has been a pleasure.

King of Eon is the ninth book in the exciting Eon Warriors series, and it offers an engaging Sci-Fi romance that keeps you hooked.

In this story, it all comes to a head and they join forces to take out the enemy. This leads to a gripping saga full of surprises and high-stakes drama, taking the characters—and readers—on a thrilling journey.

I really liked book 1, so I decided to skip to the last one book because I was interested in the king, and I wanted to see where Eve and Davion ended up… and the blurb made it sound like a dating show and I love OW drama.

Well, King Gayel is pretty cool, E & D have a baby girl, the bug/Kantos situation is finally put to bed, and there’s really no wannabe OW drama.

Bottom Line- In a way it reminded me of the first book without the constant running for their lives. A h that’s military tough without being a bitch. She even gets an alien pet. The H reminded me a lot of Davion. I liked Alea, I liked Gayel, there’s plenty of smut and action. Their coupling took a bit longer because she had commitment issues. Cameos from the other books. No epilogue, but I wonder if they will pop up in spinoff series.

The final instalment of the Eon Warriors series, as usual action packed, thrill a minute ride. Yes, the author pushes the boundaries on each story, but I really enjoy reading, and getting lost, in her stories.

How could I ever give this series finale less than a five because finally we get Gayel the Eon Kings story. From his brief appearance in the first book he has been a mystery I wanted to solve. Now he's determined to make a human woman his Queen but there's just the tiny matter of finding her ! Step forward a bevy of beauties although perhaps Gayel would prefer more of a challenge ?
This series has been fun to read and this book is possibly my favourite. I've long enjoyed seeing these Eon Warriors have to admit that human women are a force to be reckoned with and with our heroine here the action and fun just keeps coming. Yes we get the dreaded Kantos doing their utmost best to annihilate every species they come across but you just knew that there had to be a reason to save the Kings story for last although you really have to read this to appreciate the beauty of the authors plan. This brings old favourites to the fore with sweetness to make you smile but this is a book that's rollicking fun to read and I already miss these dynamic characters.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I liked this one a lot.

There is a LOT OF ACTION! (fight scenes)
Felt like I was reading die hard.

With that being said the romance was still sprinkled in there.

This would be a great movie 👌🏾

Whew

As much as i loved this series I'm glad it's ending. Any series beyond 9 or 10 books is pushing my limit to stay reeled in. Some series go wayyyy long like into 25s. No matter how much I love the authors, it becomes a bit much seemingly same story over and over. I felt for a long series the ending seemed rushed. I loved the connection Alea and Gayel had. This series definitely has me bias against other books that have warrior/symbiote enhancements. I think the first 3 books with the Traynor sisters and this one were the best. Curiously waiting for the Oronis series.

Originally published at Reading Reality

The story in King of Eon reminded me very much of the immortal words of the Scottish poet Robbie Burns. You know the quote, even if you don’t remember who said it. It’s that old saying about the best laid plans of mice and men going oft astray – or variations thereof. The original words went as follows, “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men gang aft a-gley.” A truism that applies every bit as much to kings and Kantos as it does to mice and men.

Readers have been watching the growth of the alliance between the Eon Warriors and Earth, against the swarming, insectoid Kantos since its rocky beginning in the first book in this series, Edge of Eon. (That’s a big hint to start there at the beginning and not here at the end.)

The Eon Warriors and the Terran Space Corps have united against their common enemy, the Kantos. The big bug-like creatures who are nipping at both species’ heels – along with any other body parts they can reach. The Kantos want to swarm, consume and destroy, while the Eons and the Terrans are hoping to live and let live once the threat is eliminated.

As long as the threat doesn’t eliminate them first.

Gayel, the king of the Eon Warriors, has observed as the ties between his people and the Terrans have gotten stronger – and more intimate – as the series has progressed. Several of his warriors have found their mates among the Terrans. Gayel sees the future of his people going from strength to strength as part of this alliance, and decides, for the future of his own people, that he should set an example by finding his future queen among the Terrans.

It’s not actually a bad idea, but his plan for accomplishing that goal is doomed to fall prey to the old saying about mice and men. Gayel determines that he will find his bride through a process that sounds a bit too much like the reality TV series The Bachelor. And with the same odds of long-term happiness as the show.

That Gayel falls for the Space Corps officer assigned as security for his prospective brides instead of one of the actual prospective brides isn’t much of a surprise – not even to his friends and family. He was never going to fall for, or make a successful match with, a pampered princess – and he didn’t.

But Captain Alea Rodriguez, as much as she may want the man who occupies the throne, has no interest in becoming a queen – as well as zero belief that she might be worthy of the honor.

While the course of true love is running far from smoothly, the Kantos are hatching plans of their own. They need to break the alliance between Eon and Earth before the alliance wrecks their plans to destroy both their enemies and gobble up the remains.

Literally.

Escape Rating B+: King of Eon is a fittingly epic wrap-up to this series, and there is plenty that needs wrapping up to get all of the previous relationships – along with the people of both races – to move from “happy for now but still seriously worried about the future” to happy ever after.

It’s a wild ride and a thrilling read from beginning to end – especially because there is so much left to get wrapped up when this final entry in the series begins!

Gayel’s idea to cement the alliance with Earth by marrying a Terran woman is a solid political decision. It’s been done for centuries on Earth, marrying for alliance instead of love. The problems with the execution of said idea are obvious from the start, because Gayel also wants some kind of real marriage, if not of love than at least of mutual respect and duty. He does not want to marry someone whose ambition is to be queen. He needs someone who will see it as the duty and responsibility that it is and share that duty with him.

And that’s not the scenario he’s set up, as everyone around him realizes long before he does.

At the same time, he’s the linchpin for the alliance with Earth, not because he’s planning to marry a Terran but because Eon is much the stronger partner in the alliance. If he falls, especially if it can be made to seem as if his death is somehow the fault of the Terrans, the alliance will fall apart and the separated allies will be easier to pick off one by one.

So in between the various events that are scheduled for Gayel to choose a bride, the Kantos have scheduled a series of assassination attempts and stealth attacks that get more desperate, more dangerous and more relentless each time they are thwarted.

In the end, the Eon Warriors and the Terrans are going to have to bring the fight to the Kantos – who have already brought the fight to Eon territory with devastating results. The climactic battle is, of course, climactic in more ways than one as the Terran Captain and the Eon King make one final push – with more than a little help from all their friends – to end the conflict once and for all.

The romance in this story, with its backdrop of the bachelor king seeking a bride, was a lot of fun. While it’s obvious early on that Gayel and Alea belong together, their reasons for resisting the attraction feel right for the story. That they can’t resist is what puts the icing on the romantic part of this particular book-cake.

The war with the Kantos felt like it needed a bit of help, not just from all their friends but from more than a touch of deus ex machina. For a species that has been such a big and long-running threat, the denouement of their people as a conquering race was exciting but felt a little too fast and the moral dilemmas of their potential genocide dealt with a bit too easily.

Not that I wasn’t glad to see that problem resolved!

In summary, I loved the romance, thought the Kantos got eliminated a bit too easily, and saw plenty of possibilities for a followup to this series at some not-so-far-future date! Meanwhile I’m looking forward to more science fiction romance from this author when the first book in her Galactic Kings series (loosely linked to the awesome Galactic Gladiators) arrives at the end of the year!

I really enjoyed this one. It was a good end to the entire series. In this one, after seeing his war commanders and warriors meet and mate with warriors from earth, King Gayel decides for the sake of the alliance to marry someone from earth. He has a convoy of bridal delegates come so he could get to know them. But he ends up falling for Captain Alea Rodriguez instead, the head of the security detail for the brides. Then there’s the final battle with the Kantos. We get lots of romance, fun, and action in this book. Everything in the last eight books has been leading up to this. And the best thing is that we get to see everyone get their HEA.

This series was good in that every single woman was powerful and tough in her own right. In some instances, she even out ranked the man she ended up with. And while half of the characters were aliens and pretty much all looked the same, the people from Earth varied in looks and race. I appreciated this diversity. The series overall was pretty good. But while few of the books were really stand out, unfortunately a lot of the books seemed very repetitive of each other. But the underlying plot of trying to save themselves from their alien enemies carried along nicely throughout the series so you really should read them all.

This was a fun world to delve into. And I’d recommend it to anyone who likes sexy space shenanigans filled with love and action.

What an ending!

I have enjoyed every single book of this series and although each book could be read on their own, it is best to start at the beginning as the story unfolds book by book. Hero's, heroines, lovers, lots of action and many lol moments.

This final book sees the King of Eon finally find his love. It also sees the king awaited arrival for Davion and Eve. What an ending to a brilliant series, although I would have loved to see an epilogue of a Prince of Eon making an entrance.

Looking forward to the new Oronis series.

Excellent wrap up!

The Eon Warriors series has been fun and I was excited to read Gayel’s story. The king didn’t disappear. He was everything a king should be and more. I especially liked that he knew what he wanted with Alea and made her bloom. A lovely story and great end to the series. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the Oronis Knights.

Good

As a security captain for the Terran Space Force, Alea is no stranger to danger.
When she is assigned to guarding the Terran bride candidates for the Eon King Gayel, she isn’t expecting it to be a dangerous assignment.
With the threat of the Kantos getting ever greater, Gayel and Alea find themselves fighting a battle for both of their worlds.

This is the final book in the Eon Warriors series by Anna Hackett, winding up the ongoing Kantos threat and pairing off the gorgeous Gayel with his very own mate.
There’s a lot of action in this book, with a nice look into the Eon homeworld, and their society, and a little closer look at the Eon allies.
With romance, battles, and some daredevil acts, it’s a book guaranteed to keep you interested!

Recommended for sci-fi romance fans and Hacketteers!

This can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the series in order for maximum enjoyment. Fans of the series have been anxiously awaiting King Gayel’s story and this certainly exceeded my expectations! Alea was an amazing match for him and certainly made him put some effort into winning her over. There are many surprises, twists, alien creatures, appearances from beloved characters from previous books, action, and steamy romance. I’m sorry to see this series end, but wow, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this awesome finale!

Will she accept he needs a life partner more than an ally…

So it is time to say goodbye to the Eon warriors.
I suspect everyone wondered who will be paired with King Gayel once we learned he would get his story.
Even if it was obvious it could only be a space Corp officer, who will be and in which circumstances.
And nothing better than to see a powerful almighty man fall for the “less expected” woman, the one shepherding his herd of potential brides to be.
We had glimpse of Gayel all along the series, he is a man close to his subjects, compassionate and only seeking the best for his people and his allies. As himself a warrior, even if he had to left it behind when he became king, he is drawn to females who can hold their own.
And Space Captain Alea Rodriguez is definitely that. Plus a hard but to crack, really believing her origins make her less deserving when she proves again and again how talented and resourceful she can be. She bears her past scars close to her skin and heart. Yet it seems her attraction to a man she does not see herself being good enough for overcomes everything even her fears.

Together they are quite a team, complementing and shouldering the other, seing past the other’s mask. Alea wants the man behind the king but doubts if she can to be his all for him and his people. Gayel has no such qualms, he knows she is the one for him, up to him to prove her she can be more than a lost child and a space officer.

With this last opus the author closes a door on the Eon’s world but it is not a locked one as we get a glimpse through a window of a new species. Still it is time to say goodbye to Gayel, Alea and all the Eon warriors and their mates.

King of Eon by Anna Hackett is book 9 in the Eon Warriors series. It also brings this series to an end and that’s sad, but I’m hoping that we will revisit out favourite Eon warriors and their mates in a spinoff series. I went back and re-read each book before starting on this one and I must say I dragged my feet and put off reading this last book because I didn’t want it to finish and say goodbye to the Eon warriors!

With his War Commander and various other commanders falling for Terrans, Gayel, King of Eon has decided to follow suit and take a Terran bride. He however, goes into this with eyes open, and sees it as a way to strengthen the alliance between Eon and Earth. Neither love nor a mate factor into his decision but deep down Gayel is envious of what his warriors have found with their Terran mates.

A group of candidates to be his bride travel to Eon and Captain Alea Rodriguez is in charge of escorting and helping to protect them. She’s overcome a terrible childhood and for her the Space Corps is her family and her home. Straight away there is trouble and the Kantos are behind everything as usual. The war is heating up and there are stealth attacks against the bride candidates and also Gayel. On top of this is the attraction that is growing between Gayel and Alea. She doesn’t think that she is worthy of being a queen and once she gets past her initial reluctance, she’s willing to take whatever time they have together. Gayel on the other hand has to try to get through her defenses and help her realize that she is perfect for him. Sadly, with the stealth attacks becoming more and more deadly and then the attack on the training planet and the Kantos weapon that can destroy the bonds between the Eon warriors and their symbiotes, the Helion, Gayel and Alea are running out of time.

I loved getting a glimpse of Eon society as this story took place mainly on the home planet and the world building is amazing. The creatures that Ms. Hackett comes up with and the things they can do – they deserve to be in a dedicated Eon animal biography, so we get pictures of the creatures and detailed descriptions. But I’m getting off topic.

Things heat up between Gayel and Alea and I liked seeing the kingly side of Gayel, the man weighed down with the responsibilities of keeping his people safe, the man who forged alliances and the man who wanted what his warriors had – true love and a mate to stand by him, even though he was prepared to sacrifice his happiness for the sake of an alliance. Alea is everything that Gayel is secretly looking for in a wife/mate. She’s a warrior, she’s devoted to her ‘family’, will protect them with all she has and she is also sexy. With the Kantos attacking, it is up to Gayel and Alea to try to prevent the Kantos weapon of mass destruction from being unleashed. Can they do it? Can they stay alive long enough to defeat the Kantos or will the ravenous bugs with their horrible and deadly monstrosities destroy Eon and then move on to Earth?

Start with book number one – this is a series that should be read in order and prepare to fall in love with the sexy Eon Warriors and their smart, kickass mates. This is a great, satisfying ending to a fantastic series and I can’t wait to find out more about the Eon allies, the Oranis Knights!

The completionist in me needed to read this to finish the series, but it's not a book I'd recommend. The heroine Alea is the same as the other military heroines earlier in the series and Gayel is the culmination of all the other "noble warrior" Eon males. Nothing new to see here. To be fair, the book does start off with some promise and different plot points when they're on the Eon homeworld, but things quickly devolved into the usual structure of flinging hero and heroine from one dangerous situation to the other, with barely any breathing room and increasingly outlandish enemies and allies.

Spoilery rants ahead, ye be warned!

Sadly, this is the end of the Eon books, but it is possible this author has something else up her sleeve! These books are fun, quick reads that transport readers to a world far, far away. In this book, the Eon King, Gayel, is finally getting his turn to find a bride. He would prefer to find his true mate, but he realizes that the chances are slim for that to happen. To cement the relationship between Earth and Eon, Gayel has decided to look for a bride among the women of Earth. So a spaceship with ten of Earth’s best, brightest, and most beautiful women is headed for Eon and King Gayel. The spaceship is commanded by Captain Alea Rodriguez, and her second-in-command, Lieutenant Benjamin Knox. Alea is the daughter of murdered drug dealers, and was raised by an unfeeling aunt, so she feels unworthy of any notice, and seems to be married to her job as both a warrior and a Captain. Gayel takes one look at her and is interested, but he has his work cut out to convince her that she is worthy.

The Kantos are still present in this book as well. For those unfamiliar, they are an alien race of insect-like creatures with green blood that is often toxic. They are trying to take over both Earth and Eon so that they can devour all of their resources, and that fight comes to a head in this book. There are some pretty intense fight scenes, but those allow readers to see how well Gayel and Alea work together. It’s hard to imagine the models, lawyers, and beauty queens fighting alongside Gayel, so Alea really is the perfect partner for this king. There are cameo appearances by many of the protagonists from prior books in this series, which is a fun little plus to this story! Sassy (the computer) even returns for this one, and she has given herself a hot body! Ms. Hackett ties the series up nicely with this book, and leaves a crack in the door for another series to spring forth from this one. There are some nice surprises in this book, and readers should enjoy this conclusion.

Well, if this series has to end at least it went out with a Bang! I'm sad to see that last of the Eon series BUT we may not have seen the last of them as I have a feeling we may get glimpses of them in a new series set in the same world. I'm super looking forward to that!

Gayel, may be king but he is a warrior first and foremost. It's chafing that his council keeps trying to set him up with a potential bride. Sure, his mum and dad had an arranged mating and it worked for them but he wants something more - someone who fires him up, who challenges him, who doesn't care that he's king. He promised to find a bride from Earth to cement the alliance and he will but so far all the potentials are...lacking. But a certain Captain pushes all his buttons!

Alea admits to herself that Gayel got under her skin, even though she hadn't actually met him while he was on Earth. She's here to ferry and protect the potential Queen candidates, not to make eyes at the King! But her hormones obviously didn't get the message! But stolen moments with the King just make Alea feel like she really is out of his league.

The Kantos are still causing problems and their Elite have come up with a new plan to take out the Eon. But the Eon-Earth alliance is strong and they do have other allies who rally to the cause. And OMW Sassy (the computer) has developed a new way to cause mayhem!

I felt all the ends were tied up and we even see the next generation of Eon-Earth matings! I'm waiting to see if Ashtin and a certain KnightQueen are in a new series 'cause they were super intriguing.

MEMORABLE - SUSPENSE - ACTION & FIERY PASSIONATE ROMANCE!

“King of Eon” is a fabulous, exciting read to end this series. This story held me hostage until the last page, and I still wanted more. Suspense and fighting scenes are breathtaking. Character interaction is spot on. Vivid scene descriptions make this reader want to jump into this story. Heart-pounding, fiery, passionate romance is fantasy worthy. Unexpected surprises make you smile and Gayel gets the happy forever he yearns for.

Gayel’s magnetic hotness and charismatic demeanor are movie star quality. He has sworn to take a Terran bride even if she is not his true mate. Captain Alea, a tough desirable Terran from Space Corps, is on bride protection detail on the planet Eon. Beautiful, intelligent women fawn for the King’s attention, hoping he picks them for his bride. Gayel wants his bride to see him more than the King he is. The woman chosen for Queen of Eon must see past the royalty and riches. Kantos evil bugs bypass Eon’s security and wreak havoc trying to assassinate the King. Gayel has two challenges to face before achieving his happy forever.

Memorable, exhilarating page-turner well-written storyline. Backstories give the reader a great insight into the character’s personalities. Alea’s loyalty and protective nature make her a perfect match for Gayel. It is heart-melting to see how Gayel convinces Alea to be his Queen. The end of this story is unbelievable and not what I expected. I was not a Sci-Fi reader until I find this author. Relishing this read, I reviewed a pre-released copy.

The KING OF EON is the final story in this AWESOME series. Gayel Solann-Eon, the King of Eon, is presiding over the final battles to save the universe from the evil murdering Kantos. Earth is in the mix as well as many other species. Everyone has a stake in this fight. To complicate things even more Gayel decided to seal the Earth/Eon alliance by wedding a Terran (human from Earth)…. and a group of lovely Terran “brides” just arrived on EON.
Space Corps Captain Alea Rodrequez is charged with security for these potential brides. Alea is a formidable warrior who takes her job seriously. It’s kismet when Gayel and Alea meet but even though the brides are beautiful Gayel sees Alea as his perfect mate. Alea ignores her attraction to Gayel thinking she is not on the same Royal level as Gayel.
The action really heats up when Alea and Gayel team up to disrupt the new killing virus the Kanto is set to release. The Kanto have gathered amass to make the move to take over everything. This is the point when all the allies and the EON warriors from past stories step in to make the universe safe again… it will be a brutal battle.
I LOVED catching up with the characters from past stories as well as welcoming a new first-ever Eon-Terran baby boy, Kane. GREAT ACTION AND ROMANCE SERIES. I LOVE Hackett’s fierce women and protective in-love alien men. I read free in exchange for my honest review. Linda

As usual, Anna Hackett kept up happily engrossed to the end of the Eon Warriors Series with Book 9, King Of Eon. I am sad to report that my kindle has misbehaved and eaten my whole, wonderful review of this book-as well as the ARC book itself. But nothing can keep me from singing praises for this Eon finale. If you've been following the storyline- (condensed summary: evil Kantos species out to annihilate and conquer everybody, Earth in terminal danger, Eon Warriors allying with Earth and it's Space Corp. to fight Kantos)- then you have been waiting eagerly to see if the Kantos will be victorious in their attempts at domination. Glimpses of King Gayel-leader of all the Eon Warriors- have also made teasing appearances throughout the books. This final story is his. Determined to cement the Earth/Eon alliance, King Gayel decides to marry an Earth woman. As usual, things do not go as smoothly as anticipated. His perfect mate turns out to be none other than the Space Corp officer ( Alea) assigned to guard his pool of potential wives. What- did you expect easy??? This book contains resistance to a budding romance, evil attacking Kantos, a "final" epic nail biting battle, and an unexpected finale twist. I also have to say that our author, Anna Hackett, has cleverly and teasingly left open several opportunities for future stories. A satisfying conclusion (but hopefully not the end) of the Eon series! I received an ARC to review this book.

What an awesome action packed ending to a fabulous series💖💖🔥🔥

Alea and Gayel’s story was one of the best of the series! It loved up to its predecessors which serious action and passionate love! Alea is a captain is space corps as well as a retired space Marine. Her job is to bring the king of Eon Earth females to choose from to be his bride, she doesn't have time or room for love in her life. Gayel is King of Eon he has chosen to take a bride from Earth to cement their friendship and alliance. As king he knows he has a duty to his people, his allies and an obligation to defeat the Kantos. What he really wants is a true heart mate that wants him for the man and warrior he is not the king. When he sees Alea he knows that she is all he wants. Alea tries very hard to fight her attraction to the king she believes herself unworthy and knows she'll never be good enough for him. When the Kantos send assassins and Alea and Gayel right together to stop them their attraction explodes , when their lives and their lives of all they hold dear are minutes away from annihilation love takes hold and hi Dr to souls together forever . Series: Eon Warriors #9
Rating: 4 stars - It was really good

King Gayel Solann-Eon has decided to take a Terran as his bride, but instead finds himself attracted to the Space Corps officer in charge of the bride's security. He is determined to win over Captain Alea Rodriguez, but first they have to deal with the Kantos.

This was a great ending to this series. I really enjoyed Gayel and Alea’s story. King Gayel is a smart, fair, and protective king. He really cares for his people and his allies. Alea is a dedicated officer and has spent her life dedicated to helping people. I loved how deadly and protective she was. She never backed down and was always determined to win against her enemies. They both have a lot of responsibilities and both of them accepted that and worked their relationship around them, which I loved.

These two had a very action packed adventure with the Kantos attacks from the very beginning. As always with this series, I find the Kantos creations to be fascinating and also a bit terrifying, and that holds true in this book. The war with the Kantos finally comes to an end in this and it was a very satisfying ending I think.

Overall, this was a great action packed romance and I really think these two will make a great couple. I am sad that this is the end of this series, but I am excited for the next series from Anna Hackett which will be about the Oronis Knights, who were very interesting in this book, especially their Queen.

Good book, except all the sex & hormonal scenes, & it's the final in the series.
The end of the Kantos & the end of Eve's pregnancy.
King Gayel Solann-Eon is dedicated to his people & empire. His father was a hard man & a rigid king, but Gayel is doing things his own way, including working with his allies to defeat the ravenous Kantos. To strengthen the alliance with Earth, he’ll put his own wants & needs aside & take a Terran bride. But as the group of bridal candidates arrive on the Eon homeworld, he’s more interested in the Space Corps officer in charge of their security.
Captain Alea Rodriguez has worked hard to escape her awful childhood & make something of herself. Space Corps is her family & her work is her life. Escorting a group of women to an alien planet so a king can pick a bride has left her feeling like she’s on a reality television show but she takes her job seriously & will keep them safe.
The Kantos makes stealth attacks & Alea is sure that the aliens want to assassinate Gayel, & she’ll do anything to protect him, even as she fights to safeguard her heart.
Alea makes a new friend when she's about to rescue Gayel from the Kantos, another creature that no Eon has ever befriended before & like Cutie in the beginning dislikes Shaggy.
Alea & Gayel are not the only new couple developing in this book.

4 stars.

The finale of the series starts with King Gayle of Eon wanting to choose a Terran wife. So, a group of women from Earth was escorted by our heroine Alea, the Captain in charge of their security to Eon. But of course, it's Alea who attracted Gayle's attention. Unfortunately, the shuttle carrying the women also carried some Kantos bugs that are out to kill Gayle and Alea gets to save the King.

Then news arrived that the whole Kantos fleet is on their way with some secret weapon that will kill all the Eon warriors. And it looks like it's up to Gayle and Alea to face the enemy with a secret weapon of their own. And we also learned that being King means having some frightening abilities that could have devastating results.

I have to say the Oronis have some amazing abilities. I'll be putting that series into my TBR list for sure.

It's nice to have a good wrap up with all the couples with Eve's baby being born and Alea's wedding. The scene with the various alien pets was quite cute too. All in all, it's another very sexy and action-packed series from Anna Hackett.

Endings, man. So bittersweet. Glorious and stabby and, yet, bittersweet. Anywho. This time, we have a king looking for a bride, a career Space Corps captain who doesn't consider herself in the running for his heart, and some alien bad guys who just.won't.quit.

But before we get to the Kantos, let's talk about Gayel and Alea. He has a passel of beautiful, talented human women trying to capture his attention and the only woman he has eyes for is Alea. Which works, because he needs someone who will fight just as hard as he will when things go bad. On Alea's end, she might be a little twitchy about hooking up with royalty, but she's also the type who does not stand down when someone is in danger.

As you might have guessed, danger keeps popping up in unexpected places. You know how the Kantos are. Their ravenous desire to conquer keeps putting them in the paths of the Eon and humans. And they have it bad for Gayel. So they go after him and BOOM Alea and Gayel end up fighting side by side to keep him (and others) safe.

Being a warrior king, Gayel likes they way Alea steps up and fights beside him.

A little flirting, a lot of fighting, a few unexpected beasties, a passel of allies, and a sexy clandestine encounter or two. Oh, and there might be a Eon/human baby putting in an appearance. Yesssssss.
