Bloodline Academy #8

Bloodline Destiny

Rate this book
A hedge witch and a demon face off in the kitchen. No, that hedge witch isn’t me anymore. I’m Alessia Hastings. The powerless human cowering in the corner. Until I’m not.

In my next life, I aspire to reincarnate as a slug. Because in this one, my fate is tied to an egotistical, homicidal, bully of a seraph. Unfortunately, so are my powers.

My sabbatical from supernatural society was meant to be a break. Not the eye of the storm.

My return is heralded by the rise of an ancient threat from the Hell dimension. One that wants Lucifer dead. So do the supernaturals. I don’t blame it in the slightest. It’s just unfortunate that killing me is the only way to kill Lucifer.

To ensure my safety, Kai saddles me up with the elite guard. Their stronghold is otherwise known as Bloodline 2.0. The only problem is, Lucifer and I are now a packaged deal, and Kai has always had an issue with sharing.

As the saying goes: better the devil you know. Because even bullies can have a tragic origin story, and this time, I’m the one who might have to pay the price.

When the Hell dimension comes for me, even an army of Nephilim, vampires, Fae and shifters might not be enough.

Bloodline Destiny is the first book in the direct spinoff of the Bloodline Academy series with the same characters. Bloodline Destiny is an Australian urban fantasy series filled with action, snarky dialogue and slow burn romance. Think Buffy meets Supernatural Academy. Perfect for fans of Chandelle Lavaun, Leia Stone, and Jaymin Eve.

She does it again!!!

There’s so much I could say, and I will hopefully be able to come back and write it all. Ah who am I kidding, how does someone actually write a review for Lan Chan’s master pieces?

Bloodline destiny is the spin off to bloodline academy series. I don’t know how it’s possible but Lan Chan managed to create an entirely different character atmosphere/environment but with the same characters. She managed to transform an academy type setting into college/military setting so seamlessly that I never questioned what was happening. She sets up storylines so intricately that you think you know what will happen, then all of a sudden BAM 💥 I felt stupid thinking my easy answer was the fate of the character ohhh no. It was much more than I thought and I LOVE IT!

I love that 8+ books later in this series and Lan hasn’t given us one lame ass cliffhanger like you see in EVERY SINGLE SERIES in paranormal romance or fantasy. Books are long. Characters have depth. The themes are relatable and hit your heart. I can’t wait for book 2 and pray to all things heavenly that she continues this series until I am old and grey.

Thank you Lan! Now Im going to go hide and cry that I have to wait for the next one 😫

Unpredictable, exciting, great storyline, never gets boring without being over the top

I love how consistent Lex's character is no matter what. I like that even though she plays a big role, that she isn't able as a human without magic, to play over-the-top superhero like most supernatural books are yet her grit and pure Lexiness gets her out of tight spits time and again. I hate when a book makes out the main character as the only person who can fight off the bad guy even though there are far more powerful people in the book. This is more realistic and her character is relatable. I'm glad she's cutting Kai slack, vein understanding and including him in stuff (FINALLY!). She's finally seeing him as someone in her corner instead of someone holding her back, even if he can be overbearing.

This book was absolutely amazing from start to finish
I've been having trouble getting good books series so I thought to go back to one of my favourite.
The problems doesn't stop, it's insane how Lan manage to make so much trouble for Lex, making everyone hate her. It never gets repetitive
What I like the most is how through out the series the main plot slowly unravel while each book focuses on a singular problem that gets resolved, that means that even though the story continues, we don't have to suffer with too much of a cliffhanger, that doesn't mean that we don't get enough suffering with different things, Lan is an expert at giving us (and Lex) pain
The romance and comedy as always is chef kiss. And this book is a win for the #Wingsforlex movement, I'm sure the leader (and singular owner) appreciated that fact.

Bloodline Destiny (Bloodline Academy Book 8)

Bloodline Heresy (Bloodline Academy Book 8) ~~ This book punched me right in the chest. The betrayals, the losses, the political power struggles — everything escalates fast. Lex is forced to make decisions no one her age should have to make, and you can see her hardening emotionally.

Kia and Lex start finding their way back to each other here, and the moments they share feel earned and intense after everything they’ve survived.

The final chapters? Devastating. Something major is lost, and the grief reshapes every character in the story.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself  ~ you won’t regret it.

Exciting, a real page turner

Lan Chan has outdone herself in Bloodline Destiny where Alessia figures out a new part of herself that she has not dared to explore before. I love the storyline and especially the ending.

What I like
-The romance is balanced.
-Kai stops being super overbearing.
-Lucifer's side is revealed.
-A bit of history of the seraphim is revealed.
-And we finally find out why Azrael isn't answering Alessia

What I don't like
-The free will reason why Alessia's magic not coming into play should have been explained a bit better and dealt with more at the end of the book.

Recommeded for
-YA readers (upper YA)
-Fantasy Fans
-Fans of Nephilim and Fallen Angel-related stories

Nail biting tension

This new spin-off on the Bloodline Academy series had me sitting at the edge of my seat. Lex has lost all her powers but remains a target of every bad thing in the cosmos, and hated and feared by everyone. I was not let down by this new book by Lan Chan and recommend it highly.

Amazing read!

I have loved this storyline since Book 1. Kai and Lex have the most dynamic relationship and I enjoy their bickering. Every character in this series fits so perfectly to the storyline. You will not find a better series of multiple Supermaturals from shifters, to vampires to Seraphs. Definitely recommend this series and cannot wait until the release of Book 9.

Wonderful series

The story line and characters are great. It does get a little aggravating when no matter how many times she saves them the council won't give her a break.
Overall it is a great read. I have enjoyed it immensely😊. And just so you know, I am 59 yo.keep up the good work!

Series continuation

The worse part about a series is when it ends and we are left wondering about what happens next. I fell in love with Lex and Kai in the first 7 books. I was worried that this continuation would seem forced but it doesn't disappoint at all. Love this start to a new adventure in the lives of lex and Kai and are other favorite characters.

I have mixed feelings as always when it comes to books in this series. I felt like this was one of the better ones. Really, the main reason I continue with this series is because they're Kindle Unlimited, I do also occasionally enjoy some of the books.
