One of my favourite review quotes is from Romantic Times which said in its review of The Sheikh's Ransomed Bride 'This is what a love story could be.'.
I love the amnesia trope and this story had a great twist! I absolutely loved the hero, his jealousy, his possessiveness, his passion! Angelo is a good, honorable man. Heroine was a sweetheart too. She couldn’t remember her life but she knew she wasn’t the awful woman her husband described to her. Poor girl she was so confused but so was Angelo!
Their love story was so exciting and passionate! Loved the final chapter and the epilogue too. I loved watching them fall in love despite the circumstances that they met in.
Highly recommend this book! A great Harlequin Presents. Well done Annie West! You've once again given this reader a modern Harlequin Presents with a warm vintage feeling. 5 stars! 🌟
Low angst amnesia book with the heroine who is mistaken with the evil hero ex wife. He can’t believe she’s changed and he’s wary and insulting. He thinks she pretends and while he’s attracted to her, he resents her because she trapped into a marriage he didn’t want telling she was pregnant. She was not, and he divorced her. The heroine is hurt because even if she doesn’t remember anything she doesn’t recognize that behavior as hers. Then we have the Big Revelation. She’s a virgin! Wow! The hero is remorseful because he mistreated an innocent and thinks she now hates him, and when she remembers who she is he thinks she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. She leaves but of course he follows her. (There’s a cousins who are daughters of two identical twins trope, the author already used it in a previous book) Nice and low angst. The hero is a very honorable guy, not a manwhore at all, one who was hurt and deceived. The heroine is a wholesome Aussie girl, so this couple will be happy and have several children for sure. The plot is one very often used in hp and so the only thing you have to wonder about is who is the heroine. Cute palate cleanser after too many angsty and twisted books .
Anne West never disappoints me with one her of her stories she has a way with words and emotions that bring us fabulous characters that we are soon cheering on as we get to know them and this one is a beauty with a twist that I didn’t see coming. I loved Ally and Angelo so much.
When Ally is washed up on a beautiful sandy beach in the south of Italy she has no recollection of who she is the only thing she knows is that she likes to be called Ally although her rescuer, very handsome Angelo Ricci insists that her name is Alexa and that she is his ex-wife.
The more Ally gets to know about herself from Angelo the more worried she becomes, getting her memory back is most important because the feelings she is having for this man are growing every day. She needs to get her life back on track but as she spends time in the garden there are small bursts of memory coming back to her but her feelings for Angelo are getting stronger every day.
Angelo is stunned when he discovers is ex-wife unconscious on the beach and she supposedly has no memory, he is not convinced it is not an act but he cares for her in the hope that she will recover and be gone soon. But he is noticing little things that are different about her and a need to have her is growing and it should not be.
It is not long before one night of passion revels some things that shock Angelo and Ally, where do they go from here is there a future for them or will the past pull them apart, this is a must read story I loved the twist and I loved Ally and Angelo, beautifully written in the most gorgeous of settings this story has sizzle, emotion and everything that a romance reader is looking for, another awesome story MS West that kept me smiling throughout, I loved the ending. This is one that I would highly recommend.
My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was an ingenious premise. The hero’s ex wife Alexa washes up on his beach apparently injured and suffering from amnesia.
The story then explores Angelo and Ally’s past relationship, and as we learn more about how awful Alexa was, we also see how that is totally odds with the woman Ally feels herself to be.
Eventually we learn the truth and of course Ally and Alexa are totally different women - cousins whose mothers were twins. We have a black moment and then a satisfying happy ending.
I love this author’s writing - she produces such heartfelt stories with engaging and sympathetic characters who draw you in from the first page.
This lost a star because the heroine Ally kept clinging on (for far too long), to the idea that Angelo still loved his ex wife despite the very clear dislike he had for her. I understood her lack of experience affected her judgement but her determination to believe he only cared about her as an obligation and a responsibility, was irritating.
However as I’ve said before, it’s a tribute to AW skill as a writer that one becomes so critical of what a character does. She makes them so real!
A thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying read. I totally loved Angelo - such a fabulous hero!

Enjoyed it more that I thought I would. Usually I wouldn't want to read anything with the h reminding the H of his ex in terms of appearance but in this I didn't mind. The H was quite loving and compassionate even though he thought Ally was Alexa, his ex. He was sweet comparing to the majority of H in HP. The h was sweet too and I loved them both. I believed their love and fondness towards each other. The epilogue was nice with the h and H married and pregnant.

One Night with Her Forgotten Husband by Annie West is a wonderful example of this author's talent to weave a unescapable tale, pulling you in hook line and sinker, filled with passion, mystery, twists, turns and adventure.
I adore second chance stories and when a bit of amnesia is in the mix it's even better. This time the baddie is the heroine and the author has done a delightful job of redeeming her; mixed with a nice little twist, Ally is a wonderfully likeable human who is disgusted at her past behaviours. Her ex husband Angelo is like a slolid brick wall who is clealry not happy at her reappearance in his life but is this opportunity to try and make amends and win back her husband who she's fully attracted to.
Just what we need in our crazy times, Annie West has created a beautiful island setting, with passionate and likeable characters who cant' help but be attracted to each other despite their (forgotten by Ally) past. A wonderful example of why Annie West is one of my favourite authors!

Once again, I have the pleasure of reading and the honour of doing a review of Annie West upcoming new release:
One Night with Her Forgotten Husband.
I absolutely love amnesia stories so for me this was a gotcha just from reading the back cover and as usual Annie does not disappoint ….. I loved it well worth the read.
Back cover read: She can’t remember their marriage… But she can’t resist him! Washed up on the pale pink sand of a luxury Italian private beach, Ally can’t remember anything except her name. The man who saved her is a mystery, although Angelo Ricci insists she’s his ex-wife!

One Night with Her Forgotten Husband is well written full of humour and some very emotional moments where you can’t help but feel right along with Ally’s her frustration at not being able to remember the moments in time as they are described to her and Angleo’s complete confusion and uncertainty of his feelings for Ally. Definitely sparks flying at times.
Annie’s geographical descriptions are so vividly written you feel like you are right there on the beach you can almost feel the sun on your face, the sand between your toes, and the waves gently rolling in and out, just makes you wish you were there for real and enjoying those amazing views that she describes.
I was unexpectedly surprised by a couple of little twists in the story that I didn’t see coming love it when that happens makes it even more enjoyable and very happy there is a lovely epilogue to finish. (I always love a good epilogue)
Once again Congratulations Annie another fabulous book!!!!! ⭐️⭐️🌟⭐️⭐️ Definitely a for the Keeper Bookshelf.
Thank you, Annie, for the opportunity to read One Night with Her Forgotten Husband.
Would love to read a follow up story possibly featuring Giulia and Oliver Branston, I think there could be quite a lot of opportunity for sparks between that pair.
I've been lucky enough to read an advance copy of this book, and it's fabulous. I always love the amnesia trope in romance, and this has the most marvellous twist.
I was skeptical that anyone could make an amnesia story work in this day & age… and yet, Annie managed it convincingly! I’m so impressed with how cleverly this story is done, and how engaging these characters are 🥰
Annie did it again… such a great story with great characters. Highly recommend this book and any other books from Annie West. Thanks for making me dream.
Who can resist a new book from fabulous author Annie West? Not me. Her books are always delightful. Exotic locations. Fascinating characters. A bit of conflict. Maybe some mystery and danger. And lots and lots of sweetness, heat and romance.
One Night with Her Forgotten Husband has all that, and more. Brooding (and devastatingly handsome) Angelo is bitter, burned by a beautiful, treacherous woman. He’s erected barriers around his heart. If you don’t care, don’t trust, don’t believe, don’t love you have nothing to lose; you can’t be hurt. Or so he thinks.
But when a woman washes up on the shore of his island and needs to stay in his villa to recuperate, he can’t hide anymore. Because unbelievable as it may seem, this woman is his ex-wife Alexa. The shallow, selfish, greedy beauty who lied and schemed and damaged his family. The woman he vowed never to forgive. Why is she here? What does she want? He is sure no good will come of it. Alexa, however, swears she has amnesia. For a brief moment she says her name is Ally, but then remembers nothing. Really? Not possible, Angelo says. More lies and schemes. He’s not going to let her get away with it. He pulls no punches in telling her who she is, what their relationship was and what she has done. The only problem is at times the amnesia seems real, and this Alexa is a softer version of her old self. If she’s faking it, what lengths is she willing to go to to get whatever it is she wants? And if she really can’t remember anything, how on earth could she have changed so much?
Ally is perplexed and a little frightened by Angelo’s reaction to her and appalled by what he tells her she has done. She has no idea of who she is except for the awful things Angelo has told her. It doesn’t “feel” like her but then nothing feels right. Yet she has to admit that she feels a familiar connection to Angelo, and there’s no denying the heat and desire and passion in his smoldering, brooding eyes. The pull she feels is the same and keeps getting stronger. But how can it be? He is clear about hating Alexa, and she must find out who she is and come to terms with the kind of person she might be before she can give her heart away.
This book is so full of all the wonderful things Annie West brings to each and every story she tells. Ally and Angelo come close, almost, and then pull apart. As she heals they spend time together and a comfortable feeling exists between them, but there is always the undercurrent: is this Alexa, what does she want, am I Alexa, will it be worse if my memory returns and confirms what a horrible person I am? Just when you think you can’t wait another minute for this mystery to be solved, there is another big twist. Wow. Unexpected but perfect.
When I get a new book by Annie West I just block out the day, because I know once I start turning those pages I won’t be able to stop. You know Angelo and Ally are meant to be, but you can’t imagine how it will work out and you can’t stop reading until you find out. And while I live in a beautiful place, there are many more beautiful, exotic places I haven’t visited and likely never will. Annie West brings them to me in lush, glorious word pictures, along with people I care about with problems I want to fix. Thanks to the author for providing an advance copy of One Night with Her Forgotten Husband for my reading pleasure and honest review. Most definitely a pleasure to read and to recommend without hesitation. I can’t wait for West’s next book – a new adventure with people I am eager to meet. All opinions are my own.
Passionate, intense and completely captivating, best-selling author Annie West is at her absolute best with her sensational new contemporary romance for Harlequin Presents, One Night with Her Forgotten Husband.
After the acrimonious end of his marriage, Italian billionaire Angelo Ricci had hardened his heart and vowed to never let anyone breach the impenetrable walls he had built around himself. His ex wife Alexa Barrett had shattered his trust and betrayed him in the worst possible way. Angelo’s entire focus is on his business and on his family. Long-term relationships are strictly off the agenda for him – until one day on his private island hideaway, he gets the shock of his life when washed up on the beach is the woman he had hoped never to see ever again: his former wife who cannot remember anything about her past – including their marriage!
Ally’s entire past is shrouded in mystery. She has no recollection of who she is or why she had come to Italy all the way from Australia – and she has no clue whatsoever about the man who claims to be her former husband. Angelo has not exactly welcomed her with open arms and although he has opened his home to her and given her a place to recover, he makes it abundantly clear that he can never forgive Ally for the pain and misery she had put him through in the past – even if she cannot remember any of it!
Angelo doesn’t believe his former wife’s charade for a second. He still remembers what an accomplished and manipulative liar she is and he simply cannot wait until she recovers her memory and is out of his life for good. However, nobody is more shocked than Angelo when forced to spend time with Ally, he finds himself drawn to her. Far from being scheming and heartless, Ally is kind, caring and generous and being thrust in such close proximity to her brings to the fore feelings he had thought long-buried.
United by a passion that simply cannot be denied, Angelo and Ally quickly give in to their feelings for one another. But when one night proves to be nowhere near enough, Angelo and Ally wonder whether they will ever manage to put the past behind them – or whether devastating secrets will end up tearing them apart all over again…
Clear a space on your keeper shelf because Annie West’s One Night with Her Forgotten Husband is a superb contemporary romance full of powerful emotion, heart-wrenching drama and red-hot sensuality. Annie West’s writing is rich, sumptuous and atmospheric and it beautifully evokes the passion and turmoil being experienced by Angelo and Ally, who are vividly drawn, flawed and so real they leap straight off the pages and into every reader’s heart.
An exceptional Harlequin Presents novel from a very talented writer, Annie West’s One Night with Her Forgotten Husband is category romance at its best!
One Night with Her Forgotten Husband is a gripping romance that sends the reader on a whirlwind of emotions throughout Ally’s and Angelo’s story. I was just as perplexed by the change in the woman who had scorned and humiliated Angelo, as well as harming his family as he was. And because of her loss of memory, Ally had trouble reconciling the woman she’s told she is to the internal arguments she’s having believing she simply couldn’t have done the things she’s accused of doing.
When Angelo’s ex-wife is found washed up and injured on his remote, private beach he is furious. Alexa was nothing but trouble, and there had to be some elaborate scheme for her to be playing this amnesia game of hers. Yet, there were things that just didn’t add up, but his memories of this woman’s betrayal and the harm she’s done run deep so any questions he might have were firmly pushed aside.
Ally has basic memories, she knows how to function yet why she was found on Angelo’s beach, and what drove her to return to a place where she was loathed are just out of reach in her memory. The more she’s told about herself the less real that knowledge feels. How could she forget what a horrible person she is? She’s told to be patient, that the memories will return in time – but time is something she doesn’t have for this man that she’s attracted to wants her gone, and perhaps that’s for the best for them both.
I was swept up into this world so easily. The tensions are strong and palatable, so much so that many of their emotional encounters simply leap off of the page. In spite of what we’re told about Ally, I liked her and needed answers to those haunting questions. Angelo’s anger is easy to understand, yet watching him try to reconcile the woman he knew with the woman in front of him was challenging to watch. His confusion, his draw to Ally in spite of what he knew of her past was obvious throughout.
I frankly love a huge, unexpected twist… and we get one in One Night with Her Forgotten Husband. And it was perfectly played, even if I had begun to suspect if this was possible. I had a blast in this story, was easily pulled into the intrigue and mystery of Ally’s memory, and their sizzling chemistry is off the charts. If you love a good, solid romance with some surprises along the way then you’d love this one. Frankly, Annie West has never disappointed me with one of her amazing stories… I don’t think she ever will. Pick this one up, you won’t regret it.
This was a fun amnesia story that opens with the heroine found on the hero's private Italian beach during a storm. Hero recognizes her as his evil ex-wife who he hasn't seen in five years. Heroine doesn't know her full name or him.
When a heroine in an amnesia story finds out she was a horrible person in her previous life (that she can't remember) it goes one of two ways:
1. She's a changed woman/or was putting on an act. (The Second Mrs Adams or 2. She's a dead-ringer for the hero's ex and this is a case of mistaken identity. (The Devil's Arms
I was actually wondering which it was going to be for the first half of this story. And that is a good thing, because lately the HPs I've been reading have been so predictable, that this little bit of a mystery felt like a novelty.
Where this story fell flat was the hero. His reasons for hating his ex-wife for five years were pretty flimsy. He had a brief marriage that didn't work out and then he went back to life as ususal. He claims his widowed mother and sister were impacted by his ex - but there's no evidence of that. (The reader never meets them).
Oh, one of my favourite tropes in this one - amnesia! Starts brilliantly, a beautiful woman washes up on a pinky sandy beach in Italy. She has no memory of who she is - but she's the ex-wife of the handsome gazillionaire who finds her on his shoreline. And she was a horrible wife to him, but now, something is different... Despite the drama at the beginning, this is a fairly low-angst story. The hero, Angelo, is caring and considerate to the heroine, Ally, despite his doubts about her. And the heroine is a bit Disneyprincess in her love of gardening, nature, everyone loves her, etc, etc. The mystery is maintained well, and there is no ickiness despite the discovery of the family relationships.

Ally wakes up in Angelo’s home and wonders if she’s dreaming. Angelo is spectacular. His voice is smooth and delicious. But Ally quickly realises what a mess she’s in … She has no memory. In a place she’s clearly not wanted. With a man who loathes her. And claims that she’s his horrible ex wife. Even worse? Ally is attracted to Angelo. One Night with Her Forgotten Husband is a captivating amnesia romance brimming with angst, emotion, intrigue, and steam with a shocking twist that made this an enjoyable read!
This h was discovered unconscious on the H’s island, he thought she was his ex wife. The h was suffering from amnesia, the H told her about their past relationship and she couldn’t believe she was that person. The H was really married to her cousin. The h got her memory back and they discovered they loved each other. Great epilogue.
One Night with Her Forgotten Husband by Annie West is a fantastic book. Annie West always writes a great book, I can honestly say Annie never puts out a bad book. I love Angelo and Ally , they are so good together. This couple will make you believe in love at first sight. I give this book 5 stars and would give it more if I could.
4.5 ⭐ The amnesia trope is one of my favorites and this book was the best so far portraying this trope. I expected the plot twist but I enjoyed the book nevertheless. Angelo was the best ex-husband anyone could wish for. I loved the tension and buildup between Angelo and Ally. I don't know why this book made me emotional but I teared up anyway. Highly recommend it 🥹♥️
Finslly, a HP that ticked every single one of my personal HP checklist! This book reminded me why Annie West is an absolute favourite of mine. A wonderful story with great characters, and a clever plot twist made for an enjoyable afternoon's read.
Compared to the other harlequin romances, Angelo (34) is actually quite a decent hero. 🧗♂️ No cheating or flaunting exs. Ally (23) was sweet and has a light sense of humor. 🍯 But the book seemed to drag at certain parts and felt too long.
Annie West has done it again. Such a well written and captivating book. You will love the story of Ally and Angelo. It will met your heart. There is also an unexpected twist at the end. I recommend this book along with any Annie West books.
This amnesia story is one of the best ones I've read because of the detail elaborating what was going through the heroine's mind while she couldn't remember anything. The only downside was the lack of explanation or description of what happened to the OW who the hero thought she was. Good story.
