One scent triggers a wolf’s craving. Two humans needing protection. Fate is about to intervene yet again.
Skye Lennon was on the run for her life. A civil war had recently broken out amongst the wolves and humans in her hometown. Death and violence surrounded them, making it no longer safe for her small family. Her son’s father was now dead, and they were being hunted by his pack.
Howling Valley was a town deemed safe for humans.
She arrived and was welcomed with open arms by the new alpha and a certain enforcer.
Ricca Radcliff was a wolf who desired more in life. She was tired of the desk job and the steady day-to-day work. She was meant for more, so she applied and was accepted to join the elite enforcers of her pack. Defending those in need was her calling. After intense training, she was finally awarded her first job.
A protection detail.
Simple enough.
One whiff of the tantalizing human and her wolf immediately wanted to claim her.
Skye belonged to her.
Ricca was going to have to prove they belonged together and she could keep them safe. Even if she had to fight an entire pack alone, no one would take her woman from her.

I don't know if this is a real thing or if I'm just making up a new kink term here, but I learned something while listening to this book: Milk play (one of the MCs had a baby...I'll let you put the pieces together) grosses me TF out 😅😅😅 Please don't "share" with the baby 😭 just let him have it!
Aside from that, literally just ditto all of my previous reviews for the series. Here's what you can expect: * A grown-ass wolf-woman drinking boobie milk 😭 * Flat-ass characters (with great asses, but no actual character) * So little plot, you may need a magnifying glass to help you find it * More SEX than you can shake a stick at * A baby that people who like babies might find cute * Crappy writing * Ultra-mega-super cringy vocab
I'm glad this was the last one (I think there may actually be more, but at least the supply of audio books on Scribd has run out 🙏 Thank you, Lesbian Book Jesus!), because this is where I draw the line. I could (just barely) handle the 'cream' and 'mounds' and 'forbidden holes'... But the 🍼🤤🍼 was too much.
Howling Valley and ultimate safety is the destination for Skye and Rolf, her baby/wolf shifter son. With the death of Reade (Rolf's father) son of Alpha Barone Westway - Skye had no choice but to escape from Half Moon Bay and seek refuge with the Nightstar Wolves under Alpha Evan Gerwulf. She doesn't want Rolf to grow up tainted in anyway by his cruel grandfather Barone. Ricca, newly appointed enforcer with the Nightstar Pack, is assigned to protect Skye. There is an instant attraction between the two women with arousal and confusion on one hand and the extreme need to claim, mate and protect on the other. Adding to these complications is Barone's escalating brutality and daring to get his grandson back in his control. This tale with shape shifters has heroism, romance, benevolence, sex and a HEA. Recurring characters from previous books added nicely to the plot. I wonder what will happen next in Howling Valley.
I rec'd a copy from Booksprout and this is a voluntary and unbiased review.
I’ve seen this trope done in straight romance before but never this well and never sapphic. Of course, Ariel Marie knocked it out of the park and wrote the most epic werewolf single mom story yet. The Nightstar pack is always a joy to visit, and I am glad Skye and Rolf make it there and find safety. Ricca is all the sexy werewolf protector vibes you could ever need and makes you swoon with her moves and your heart melt when she bonds with Rolf. Skye gets a gold star for figuring it out before anyone thought she did, and her protectiveness of Rolf is so mama wolf. I HATE BARONE, like please let me at him. Watching these two fall in love and navigate a perilous situation was heartwarming and oh so steamy. Ariel Marie does it again and you don’t want to miss this one.

I definitely can't get enough of The Nightstar Shifters Series!! This book five of the series had me nervous because Skye was running for her life to protect her son Rolf from his alpha crazy grandpa. I loved that Ricca was so accepting of Rolf and not just Skye. This book was sweet and romantic and wasn't full of horrible things like blood shed. Now I did learn what happens to an evil alpha. Note to the author Ariel Marie, PLEASE DON'T LET ME WAIT TOO LONG FOR BOOK 6!!!😍😘
This was a wonderful page turner. I enjoyed the secondary characters, the pacing, the world building, the consequences for the evil Alpha - all of it. there is a part where Skye realizes the difference between when she was with her child's father and when she is with Ricca that is priceless. The chemistry is lovingly sweet; it really makes the story.
I found myself staying up late to see the end. I want a sixth book in the series and even more from this world.

I liked this one, even when I was a bit squigged out by the breastmilk piece. It also has one of my favorite misspellings so far - contraception instead of contraption. I laughed out loud, totally worth it. There are many spelling errors and grammatical errors. In fact characters are often referred to by the wrong name. It was a bit annoying to get through for that reason. I found that most of the books in this series have that problem. If anyone reads these - I'm happy to proofread for early access!
This was another cute story about shifters. Skye and her baby Rolf are on the run and find home with a pack that Ricca belongs to. Showing that blood is not thicker than water and family can be found instead of born into, this book was fun to read.

Skye’s mate was killed and her father in law was going to take their baby from her so she ran to another pack for sanctuary. Ricca was an enforcer guarding Skye and her son. Found that they were fated mates, went to the council and they said that she could raise him but when he turned 18 he had a choice of packs. Good book!
Love this world building. Love having options for ff shifter books. I really enjoyed this story and appreciated how the female shifter was holding herself back at first when meeting her mate.

I enjoy reading about Ricca and Skye. Having Rolf with them makes their bond to be stronger. We also get more details about the Council and a little glance of their powers. I hope the author continues the series. All the couple are great in the series.
Didn't know or pay attention that 5th book in series. Going to go back and read. I really enjoyed how the council worked. The shifter world has always drawn my attention and surprised did not see this b4.
First, I accepted thos as an Advanced Reader Copy months ago and my review is long over due. I also didn't pay enough attention to the fact that this is Book 5 in a series. Needless to say, I was lost.
That said, it was a good read and a compelling, well written story!
I truly enjoy Ariel’s creative shifter series. I do sometimes wish the stories were longer but then I see it’s 3am and I should be glad they’re not because I can never put her books down once I start!!
Great series, great stories, wonderful characters that make you want to hug them or hit them. Shifter or not, the heart wants what it wants, no bargaining.
This is either my first or second favorite book in this series - it's a contender with Sailing With Her Wolf. It may be the draw that they don't expect or figure out is mutual. I dunno. But the storyline in this particular book is very strong and gives more insight into the shifter world the author Ariel has built around her books. Skye's history around wolves, and her seeing the best of both worlds through the eyes of her baby boy adds to what makes this particular book a gem.
