Unexpected Contact is the follow-up story to Duel of Destiny (A Mechhaven Novella) and prequel to Pax Machina (Mechhaven Book 1).
A good if somewhat unconventional storyline, a mix of military sci-fi and space opera that works well. Although shorter than I would have liked it's packed full of action with subplots that add depth to the overall quality of the story. The main characters, a female newly promoted military officer, a high-tech mech more like an android, and a deadly female mercenary take on a mission to capture a dead!y weaponized mech. Extremely well written with believable characters, this is a fast-paced high-octane read. Highly recommended we'll worth a read, Baz.
