T.B. Phillips debuted in 2019 with his award winning series Dreamers of Andalon, a cautionary fantasy adventure taking place twelve hundred years in our future and set in the age of sail. He has been lauded for his skillfully choreographed sea battles and action sequences, painting a vibrant picture of detail directly into the reader's mind.
He is a former sailor and educator. He served the United States Navy as a Chief Cryptologic Technician and Analyst, living out his own adventures while learning about the world. Many of characters are a sum of the people he met and interacted with during his travels, as evidenced by the comradery displayed in his novels. He retired from active duty in 2008 and taught English and History before becoming a public school principal.
He began his novelist journey after a challenge by his children. As a single father he worked hard to encourage literacy and interest in the arts, and he and his children read and discussed books of all genres throughout the years.
T.B. Phillips is originally from Wichita Falls, TX and resides in Fort Worth, TX with his beautiful wife (and super-intelligent marketing manager) and their blended family of six children.
He humbly thanks you for finding his work entertaining, and hopes to do so for many years to come!
As an author I do not review my own work, but use this space to announce exciting news about my titles.
9/2/2021 - Howling Shadow is here! I'm excited to announce the release of Blossom of the Fae Book Two! Please enjoy my story as Alistaria and the crew continue discovering their roots - slight pun intended ;)
8/1/2021 - Despite publishing four titles in 21 months without any issues, I ran into a snag getting "Howling Shadow" to you on time. For this I beg forgiveness, but promise the quality of the story will more than make up for the short wait. In late June and again early July, I fell ill and was not able to complete my edits and make the deadline. The decision to push the release to September 3 was tough, but necessary. I'm hoping to have it to you before that date!
That said, when Blossom of the Fae Book Two releases, this will have been five titles in 26 months!
6/8/2021 - "Howling Shadow: Blossom of the Fae Book Two" has a cover! The adventures of Alistaria and her friends continue with another exciting tale from the increasingly popular "Blossom of the Fae" series. Book two is officially titled, "Howling Shadow." New enemies have emerged, and this tale takes on a darker feel as Humans and Fae must unite against the Shadow Realm.
I thoroughly enjoyed Book Two of the Blossom of the Fae. This is a genre that I would not ordinarily read, but Mr. Phillips' style and imagination has captured me. Howling Shadow is action packed with intrigue and mystery and I con't wait for the 3rd book in the Trilogy. Mr. Phillips does an outstanding job developing all of the characters, especially my favorites, Piotr, Boyd and their dog, Lucky. Highly recommend all of his books!
Really enjoyed this latest book from T.B. Phillips he is really becoming one of my favorite authors. Great Irish fairy tale with battles and adventure and comedy to be had. Love the twists and turns this book makes. Only hard thing is the names of some the characters being so similar but makes sense when you go to the origin of the storyline.
I have read the Dreamers of Andalon series and liked it. The Blossom of Fae series, so far, is a little different but just as engaging. Well worth the time.
Action packed fantasy that despite being a sequel, stands alone well. The faerie culture in this novel is unique and is told from their perspective. Well done!
Dorian is concerned about humans finding about the origin of their king, suspecting he is the song of a banshee, that can affect the pact between humans and the Fae to destroy the shadows that are attacking their realms. Supernatural, mythology-based, mysterious. You have a saga full of suspense and packed with tons of fun.
This was my favorite out of all the books in the series, and I'm so excited for the 3rd book (hopefully!!). I loved the mystical scenes in this book, and the build up to the end. And you start to see the characters for who they are and not what they were originally set up to be seen as. The writing throughout the entire series never faltered for a second. I was entranced from start to finish
