Rate this book
The Nemesis Endurance, the spaceship that rescued a group of survivors from Kuiper mining station, lays in dry dock underneath Orion Citadel. Bob has been tasked with reassigning it to the bounty hunters’ cause, whilst their leader, Athena, puts together a new crew to capture a wayward entrepreneur who does not only deal in sex trafficking but also holds Bob’s lover and her friend captive.

Their quest leads them to a criminal stronghold called Cherry Blossom. Athena is not fooled by the obvious spoor, but she has to risk walking into a trap if she is to save the kidnapped women and bring an end to one of the worst criminal rings that have left a black mark on the Citadel’s pristine visage.

"You are death in the form of man. All who care for you die, one way or the other."

This series came across my radar when the author contacted me to see if I was interested in a copy of the first book, KUIPER STATION, in consideration for review. Before I had even finished it, I'd already downloaded the rest of the series onto my Kindle, so now here I am, completing book 3 of The Kuiper Series.

In this installment of the series, the Master Technician Bob finds purpose by joining up with a crew of bounty hunters doing what he does best - reoutfitting the Nemesis Endurance, a ship that was previously on the chopping block by order of Orion Citadel. The first order of business of these bounty hunters was to track down Val Zambrano, a man wanted by Orion Citadel in connection with sex trafficking charges. Bob has a more personal interest in finding this man - one that may involve needing a body bag.

What I loved most about this one was the introduction of the characters that made up the crew of bounty hunters, finally learning what it was that set all of these events in motion with the first book and the new setting of Cherry Blossom. I never thought anywhere in space could be as bad as Kuiper Station, but the asteroid that is Cherry Blossom and its extensive criminal element, made Kuiper look like a paradise. Of course, the return of one of my all time favorite characters of the series was the crowning glory for me. This return has me really excited for the final book in the series!

There were a few things that detracted from the story and I almost put it down - I'm glad I didn't because I really did enjoy the development of the story and the events that moved the plot forward - but it was difficult to navigate at times. The dialogue is slam full of crude and vulgar language. I'm pretty sure there was a record set for the number of times the "C" word was used in this book. The banter I loved in the first two books wasn't present that much in this one, it was almost all sarcasm and degrading towards whoever the character was speaking to. It just was not enjoyable reading that much excessive language and how rude these people were to each other. I personally think I have a really foul mouth, but I don't come close to these cats, lol. There was a LOT of violence, most of it directed towards women and children. While I did understand the motivations of most of it, it was still a lot to take in.

So, am I glad I read it? Yes. Will I ever reread it? No. It's not one I'd like to experience twice. I took lots of notes, so all else fails, I can reread the first two books and skip to that last one, lol.
