In the days before Epic—the mysterious albino techno-geneticist—is expected to light the fuse for an all-out war, Branwynne and her Asylum have been given their first major assignment: Track and report back to their teachers about the moving caravan of the Army of the Unsettled. What could be simpler? When the violence of a broken world hits close to home, Branwynne and her friends find themselves dragged into the bizarre and unexpected world of the Army of the Unsettled. In way over their heads, weaponless, and with no backup on the horizon, they’re about to discover the big difference between learning about the end of the world and surviving it.

The book is awesome but still, 1 more trilogy! Im excited cause the story didn’t end but still, i cant believe you have the skill to write so many trilogy’s ! Ive been here since the emergent trilogy and ill be here till the final book. Great work!
This was the best book out of the entire Emergent series. This third book of the Academy trio starts off loaded with action, and doesn’t stop. It’s curveball after curveball and exceeded my expectations. There are a lot of details to retain since it’s a long series over all. I was wracking my brain trying to remember the Welsh tale that no one else seems to be recognizing the similarities in. There’s also the fact that there is a traitor in the group. It’s being painted so that you suspect Matholook but I have a feeling that’s just a red herring. The whole time it felt like there was something unknown lurking in the background, an unexpected twist just waiting to flip the script on you and leave you reeling. I wouldn’t say my reaction went that far, but my suspicions were partially right. I got duped, and I appreciated it. I thought for sure Sara wouldn’t be the traitor because it was too obvious and maybe that’s why it worked. What annoyed me instead, is that no one else suspected it. And while it isn’t mentioned, I’m fairly certain she’s the girl from the Devoted all those years ago. So why didn’t Matholook say anything since he had the Conspiracy leave in the middle of the night because of her? We also find out that Sara is actually a Hypnagogic, as are Lucid and Reverie. My review might be to help me remember my questions rather than a full review! While the entire book was fast paced and full of action, the last 20% had me going through every emotion. Enemies turn out to be friends while friends join the enemy. It’s a world were everyone believes their vision is the right one and I’m excited to see how it all gets wrapped up in the final trilogy. Who knew the return of an old vulture could make you so happy? Or that a white raven would make you cry tears of joy!?

The entirety of this series has been so good. Finally getting the chance to learn about and explore the lessons that Branwynne and the rest of the Asylum get to learn as they explore this new reality is very well done.
Lots of fun reading this one for sure!!:-). The action and perilous moments abound!!:-). And the characters and their relationships grow deeper and more complex….LOVED IT!!:-)
The timeline…AHHHH. You cannot tell me this all happened in not even a day. If the timeline was longer, maybe, MAYBE, this could’ve been better. The last 60 pages were great and very fast to read, but everything leading up to it wasn’t entirely necessary. Finally on to the final trilogy.
I have loved the Conspiracy Chronicles and reading about the Asylum. This one started off great, but definitely slowed for most of the book. Picked up towards the end again. Of course I'm continuing 😁
