Overall, a decent story. A solid four. The back ups should be fleshed out into longer stories, for the most part. And I’d like to see more vintage ads slipped into other books. Read this series and skip the latest movie.

This series started off better than I expected (I'm not a fan of the films or "shared universe"), but by the final issue, I was reading it just to get to the end. I was really disappointed that there was no real payoff, just a teaser for the next "The Conjuring" miniseries.

Storyline felt rushed and choppy. I think the sort of vibe they were going for in story telling works better for movies but with a comic it gets a little confusing.
I truly love the conjuring universe (at least the first two conjuring and Annabelle movies), so finding out that dc has their own series was super exciting!!
I think i’ll try out some of the other parts in the series to be sure, but honestly this one was a little disappointing.

The Lover concludes leaving Jessica a tragic character, that featured in a story of moments. I'm intrigued how this ties into the movie.

Artwork and writing throughout was really good, although I could do with bits and pieces being fleshed out. What the hell was Jessica's mother's issue? Surely it's not down to her being aware of Jessica and Katie?

The 'Tale From The Archive' was a throwaway story. Enjoyable enough, I guess.

Glad to say the adverts were an improvement this issue.

Overall, this series was only ok. Averaging 2.2, I certainly recommend you read it but please keep expectations under control. It doesn't really offer too much new. I was disappointed in the repressed sexuality storyline, but some of the shocks and gorgeous panels across the five issues kept me engaged.

I'd be interested in seeing more from the 'Archive' and those adverts were at times brilliant.

I’m not familiar with the movie The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, so this tie-in with clues to said movie will be over my head for the most part.

As is the law in horror, it doesn’t end well forJessica. Story was okay but it didn't bowl me over. And I finally found the short Haunted Artifact Room tales (tucked away at the end of this 5-part series). Bonus :-)

Wow, what a great way to end off a Conjuring comic book series there, guys..... with Katie and the devil that has been tormenting her having a therapy session. Real nice, definitely not boring or anticlimactic at all. Speaking of which, apparently this entire comic series was meant to be one big precursor to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which is pretty upsetting to say the least. Why would you bother being the prequel to a mid-ass film in the series when the first two Conjuring films are RIGHT there?

Overall I really enjoyed this run... This particular issue on the other hand was such a disappointing ending - short, simple, unoriginal and uninspiring. When i finished reading it i actually said to myself "well that was a waste of time"

OK, so I was right about how it tied in. Thankfully it was very specific and not at all vague at the end, tying up the loose ends. Though it was a sad ending. The short story was meh, and once again the ads were the stars. Sea Devils!

They saved the worst for last. Even the side story wasn't that good. The main story had no serious payoff. I know that it is connected to the third movie but it just fell flat for me. The ads were still great though.

I enjoyed this series but think it would have been wildly more effective if the 5 separate comics had been combined. Having them separate left the main story feeling disjointed and the quality of the additional artifact stories tended to vary in quality, so some editions were more disappointing than others, which wouldn't have been such a let-down had they been part of a collection
