The Eastern Empire’s vast army (over 900,000 strong) is ready to invade the Forest of Jura. Thanks to Ramiris’s mind-boggling powers, Tempest’s entire capital—buildings, inhabitants, and all—has been evacuated into the nation’s labyrinthine Dungeon. While Primal Demons Testarossa and Ultima kick some serious imperial butt over on the front lines, the rest of the Empire’s army attempts to storm the Dungeon. Little does the enemy know, however, that they’re about to face a devastating bloodbath at the hands of Tempest’s own mighty forces…
Absolutely no consequences. Nothing. The entire volume about a war against the greatest enemy so far and nobody die from the ´´good´´ side. It´s become harder and harder to read this series.
You go into an isekai knowing that 1) the main character is basically a Gary Stu who has an overwhelming advantage in power and 2) the appeal is aimed squarely at men or teen boys who enjoy fantasy battles, Civilization-esque society planning, and fanservice. It's the equivalent of the Marvel cinematic universe and well, that's exactly what I got.
I'm not going to put down all 13 volumes to my reading count this year, but I am putting this on the read pile so I can remind that takes about 9 volumes before the writing becomes barely passable. It's not worth the reread.
My only complain is the last chapter of the book which basically throws away much of the character development Rimuru was getting. Also it is a shameless Deus ex machina
former 37 yo virgin, current oinging boinging slime and his motley crew of monsters and demons absolutely massacre almost a million humans and look cute while doing so
4.5/5 A vast improvement over the previous volume since that one was essentially all set up for this one. Volume 13 covers the actual war between Tempest and the Eastern Empire. In typical slime fashion the cast is super overpowered even 13 volumes into the story but at least it’s fun. The fights still remain predominantly one sided but they’re interesting and if you’ve been around this long it’s just fun to watch your favorite characters go on a rampage.
This volume is also helped a bit by not introducing a dozen more characters which the series is notorious for. And with the exception of maybe new antagonists here and there it really should stop.
I’ve been on this train since departure and I aim to stay til the end. Some volumes are better than others but I had a good time with this one. The anime for season 2 ended around volume 6 currently and I have my doubts it’ll ever reach this far but we shall see. I still haven’t watched the second season anyway.
5/10. It was okay/boring. Nothing was at stake. I am wondering if I should keep reading the novel until the end. I am visualizing a never ending story without a real plot. People die but, wait, they’re revived. This whole volume was pointless. What’s keeping me here is waiting for what happens with the angels, guy Crimson and the emperor, but I kind of feel I am going to get disappointed.
Edit** Marked review to have spoilers and changed some grammar errors.

Oh my glorious king the insect kaiser Zegion, at last i can see you basked in your glory.
This volume suffers from having a "Oh wow, this Guy is a slime therefore he must be weak, lets throw a copious amount of soldier that definitely not going to be an excuse to evolve older character. We will win!" type of villain. Tbh this volume threw me off for a better part of 2 weeks after reading slime every single day. It really pisses me off when Fuze did this, because i know that he's capable to write a good villain just like Granbell in volume 11.
On the bright side, I think this volume really took of in the later half when the 10 elite dungeon had a proper introduction and fights, especially for my boy Zegion. The idea of this Super Sentai esque insect character being the most powerful in the labyrinth even on the rimuru's personal executives makes him a true badass. I liked when he just murder the 4 guys from the empire and all his dialog so far is just straight up menacing and cool.
Welp the ending was kinda anti climatic dont they? Tbh I get that Fuze didnt want Rimuru to become an all out fearsome tyrant ( at least in the novel ) , but you know there are some developments in this volume that hintwd that maybe Rimuru will snap out and finally becoming merciless. I know that maybe he's saving it for another volume , cus i kinda get some spoiler ahead but its just deterent this current volume for me.
That was one hell of a war! Each chapter and each POV was written well enough to show just how things are going and how intense everything is. Sure, there are lighthearted scenes, but I think the whole tone and mood of this book just showed 'war' all over it.
It was bloody. It was serious. It was all written so well.
I've always thought writing war and action scenes are really hard since it'll be hard to successfully depict them properly in writing but the author did good! It was such an enjoyable read, I sped through reading them! If only life isn't as demanding as it is, I surely would have finished this much faster, but alas! I'm just glad I got to read all of that!
There weren't many rimuru actions and scenes this time, and normally, I would be grumbling about it (I'm biased like that) but in this book, I had no complaints. It's really enjoyable reading about rimuru's people's strength. They all make me proud as well hehe
This was quite a long read! And I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm so excited about what's coming next!
Volume 13 of Reincarnated as a Slime was a bit of a disappointment. It had the same interesting characters and world of course, and narrative flow was good. The issue is that after all the setup of volume 12, the war it self was ridiculously one sided. Having Rimuru pointing out all the mistakes of the Empire do not add tension, they just make it more obvious how boring the whole thing is. The fact that either the translation is a bit rough around the edges (mixing up pronounce for at least one character) and the confusing mess that the labyrinth incursion was (in regards to communication in and out, saying no communication was possible, but yet mentioning the returning of loot and knowing the win conditions) are minor complaints. On its own the volume is not worst of the series, but combined with 12 it was certainly the biggest disappointment.
Phew~ as predicted this volume is everything you waited for from vol 12.
It’s a chonker of a book, but I guess that makes sense when your characters are going to war. It does a good job of highlighting everyone. It was nice to see Gobta and Ranga enter the fight again. It was nice to see how far Gabil has come. But most importantly you get to see the Dungeon masters fight. Zegion being a standout!
That said, while it was fun watching all these characters get a spotlight there wasn’t any tension. It was telegraphed from the beginning that it was gonna turn out the way it turned out, so I think Fuse could have lightened up on the foretelling this volume. If there ever were a prime example of overpower MC power fantasy story it’s this. This volume clicks alllllll the power fantasy boxes which will either make you enjoy this or hate it.
4.5/5. Really good book. I did not mind the one sided nature of the war too much as I feel like it paid off Rimeru getting strong allies in recent books. I like how he revived the enemy afterwards, it eased my feelings towards those who were just doing there jobs. The first battle felt prolonged though. The enemy's misunderstandings for who was Valdora was funny. This battle feels far from over since have yet to see the Empereor and the Fire Dragon's true weapon yet. I am also very interested to see Misaki and the Empereor possible connection. I got really tense at the idea that Misaki was goinv to betray Rimeru and the whole traitor sequence was very tense as everything felt too perfect. Overall, great book and looking forward to the next.

Very happy to have some new additions to the main cast in the forms of Testarosa, Ultima and Carrera. The former sticks out the most due to her assuming Rimuru's role of ambassador to the humans, and it's nice to have a strong female character (I suppose not female, because demons in this universe are genderless?) - despite my personal issues with them all inevitably being drawn to Rimuru, this is a bit more believable due to the latter's explosive power growth in recent chapters. Diablo being back in this volume is also a nice breath of fresh air.

Worst book so far in my opinion; so much buildup for a war that was skimmed over. The fact that a million capable warriors could not even kill one tempestian, and that we haven’t even heard much at all on most fights was confusing. Anyways, gonna continue reading for sure. This is a theory so not a spoiler; I think the blue-haired girl with the eastern empire that’s said to be a true dragon is the same one who brought masayuki over to that world, to serve as some sort of vessel for a reincarnation of the emperor. We’ll see how it goes though!

Rimuru did it again, even if he doesn't really participate in the fight and just watches on the back scene, it is sort of like he become the king. The power the Great Forest of Jura holds is immeasurable, they ended the war with ease and the resurrection of the eastern empire makes it a perfect ending of volume 13, with them becoming a loyal subordinate of Rimuru. I am looking forward to the next volume.

This is the 13th novel in the "slime" series and it was another absolutely incredible read! This one finds the Eastern Kingdom finally making their move to invade the monster's forest city. The crew moves their city down into the dungeon and what follows is a clash against the Eastern Kingdom on their own turf. Another awesome read and soon on to the next!
This is when I dropped the series. Now does that make this book bad, no it was probally on me. I read a book a day getting to this war arc and from there having to read through the battles, and that just became a huge slog and I dropped it like halway through.
I love this series. Diablo is the freaking best. I love him. I'm not sure if Benimaru is even ready for a wife. Rimuru comes first in his life, but really if he has to pick one I'd say Alvis would be his choice. I think she's better suited for him.
