Sherman Iron is a reporter for a small Montana news paper who has a habit of picking a cause and going after in often without involving the local police. The town he is in has a bad drug problem and the head has no problem eliminating competition or those who pose a threat to his operation and well as bribing law officers and others to further his business. Sherman goes head to head with him and his henchmen with help of a high school and the college computer whiz and "white hat" hacker. She gets him out of jams, provides information and shares the danger over the 4 books. Liked them enough to read right through all 4.
Ok, so there may be the odd little slip up, like the Jeep skidding to a stop, then walking quietly away from the Jeep so footsteps can’t be heard on the gravel - like the Jeep skidded quietly! Lol. But honestly apart from maybe two of that type of thing these books are perfect. Great crime, good interesting characters, on both sides of the law.A really good set of plots and secrets being unearthed and a theme running through all of them. Plenty of hair raising times. Very interesting main characters, that are fully fleshed out ‘real’ people. Totally awesome read! Clean too. No explicit bad language, thoughts or scenes. Sure it was hinted at, but not used. Smooth easy reading. Well worth 5 stars.
Well, I started reading this series just after lunch today, and I've just finished it. Every time I read a Sherman Iron story, I forget how young he is! I imagine him as a Perry Mason-esque figure, even though he's a journo, not a PI. I love how his relationship with Jaden develops over the series; if they don't end up together, I'll be disappointed! I'm invested in the characters, and in how the story arc develops across the series. I want to know how Sherman's relationship with his dad develops, what happens with Lacey, and with Jaden. I really enjoy the author's writing style, how theology lines develop, overlap and weave around each other.
This was a very pleasant surprise to me. I tend to read historical fiction more, when it comes mysteries. All 3 books in the series were really page turners and full of twists and turns. It wasn't over done or unrealistic which I found rather refreshing. I Loved Jaden's character immediately and Sherman was charming but bullheaded which was kind of funny and frustrating at the same time. All in all I would recommend the series and definitely would check out more from the author.
Iron is outstanding in these stories I could continue to read his whole life. His dealings with the drug cartel had someone special looking over his shoulder. Read these stories and catch a bit of information happening in our streets...... You will enjoy!!!
I do not give a five-star rating lightly, but this set of three stories deserved it. I was impressed that such good tales were told without resorting to any profanity. Many other authors should take note!
It was difficult to put my Kindle down as I read the stories, and I shall probably look out for more about Sherman Iron and his friends (and enemies!).
Sherman is just a working guy who’s doing the best he can. What a great series and characters that you want to hang out with. I can’t wait until 2-28 for the next chapter in his life.
A story that is as current as the daily newspaper! A well written book that will hold your interest to the last page and Beyond! Give yourself a treat, grab a copy.
