I have one goal. Buy out my aunt so that Middle of Nowhere Alaskan Crafts is one hundred percent mine. After years of saving every spare penny, I’m so close to having enough money to make the dream a reality. Except my aunt has one stipulation: Don’t get involved with another military man. It’s never been a problem until Holden Black started coming around. I’ve turned him down every time he’s asked me out, but secretly I love his persistence. One kiss changes everything. He promises to keep our romance a secret until I own the store free and clear. But is anything ever a secret for long in a small town?
Holden
I’ve been stuck on Rachel Tomlin since the first time I saw her. Every day I show up at her shop, refusing to give up each time she shuts me down. I think that secretly she wants me too. If I could only figure out what’s holding her back. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to break down her barrier. Even enter a moose making competition to impress her. One heated kiss is all it takes for her to surrender to me. I don’t like keeping us a secret, but I certainly love having her in my bed. In a few weeks, there’ll be no more strings attached to her life. If we don’t get caught first.
We all made a pact. We’ve survived basic together, shared duty stations, and gone to war together. But the needs of the Army have separated us multiple times. That’s why we agreed that when each of us got out, we’d each settle down in the same mountainside town of Three Rivers. It was a favorite place to get away on holiday weekends when the six of us were stationed together in Alaska, and as veterans now we can’t imagine anywhere better. A place filled with fresh mountain air, friendly people who are there when you need them but happy to keep to themselves when you don’t, and unexpected love none of us saw coming.
Sweet & steamy short story insta-love romance with an older mountain man and younger curvy woman. NO cliffhangers. NO cheating. Guaranteed HEA.
An enjoyable, well written, engaging, steamy, funny, and intriguing book nine in the Brothers in Arms in Alaska series! The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is off the charts. Definitely recommended!

Right from the start I fell in love with Holden. This is the ninth book in the Brothers in Arms in Alaska series and is the story Rachel Tomlin and Holden Black. Holden moved to the small town of Three Rivers, Alaska after he got out of the Army. He had saved all his money and lived frugally during this time so he had enough to buy twenty acres outside of town and build a nice cabin. Currently he has his brother Slade living with him, also a veteran, who has gone off the rails after a bad breakup. Rachel grew up in Three Rivers, Alaska and after a bad divorce she returned. Her Aunt Becky owns the Middle of Nowhere Alaskan Crafts store in town so Rachel now runs it. She has memories of the store and how much it meant to her mother before she died. Rachel was then brought up by Becky who always held it over her. Becky has let Rachel buy part of the business and now there is only twenty-three hundred dollars more to buy Becky out and have the store to herself and also have Becky not hanging over her head. The only problem for Rachel is Holden. Ever since the tall, handsome and sexy ex-soldier moved to town he has set her dreams to naughty and her nipples hard. The feeling is mutual for Holden as when he first saw the beautiful and curvy Rachel he knew she was the only one for him, and would always be the only one. But can they have a future with Aunt Becky's veiled threats putting Rachel's dream of owning the store in jeopardy? What if they do things secretly.....well that may not work so well since Becky has spies all over Three Rivers. So what do they do now???
I really enjoyed this well written and romantic story. There is drama, secrets, pasts, family, friends, angst, scorching hot and dirty sexy passion and more. I would definitely say this is a RECOMMEND READ! and a great addition to the series. Plus what can go wrong when you add in the annual "make a moose" competition for the Three Rivers Fall Festival.
Their passion finally found its release in this kiss beneath the northern lights
This book is about Rachel and Holden. Rachel works at the Middle of Nowhere Alaskan Crafts store that she owns partially with her aunt. The annual Three Rivers Fall Festival occurs in her favourite time of the year, and she loves the moose-making competition. Holden comes in to buy supplies to make a unique moose – and win the competition, with an added stipulation of a date with Rachel if he does actually win! She agrees to this condition, but is still very cautious due to the awful relationship she ended with her ex, who like Holden was military, but also so unlike him as he was a serial cheater, violent and abusive.
Their attraction is undeniably magnetic, and Holden knows what he wants, but is willing to take it slow, waiting for Rachel to catch up. However, her connection to him has her making a risky choice that may come back to bite her in the butt – despite the sizzling-hot fun they will share together in the meantime. Will it all be worth the risks?
This was a fun, sweet, crafty, emotional, friendship-filled, passionate and steamy read. I love reading about the characters from previous stories, and the way they’re involved in each other’s lives. It really makes Three Rivers feel like a place I’d love to go to! And those northern lights had me swooning! I did however feel like it ended too abruptly, but knowing Holden’s brother Slade finds love in the next book, I’m sure it isn’t the last we’ve heard of him and Rachel. I give this book four and a half stars.

Rachel has lived in town all her life and is getting ready to purchase the craft store her aunt owns. She loves the store just like her mother did before she died. She is just a few months away from having all the money she needs. The only stipulation is she can not ever get involved with a military man. Holden is trying to get Rachel to go out with him. He believes she feels the attraction and the chemistry between them. Why can’t he get her to accept? What is holding Rachel back? Can Rachel and Holden hide their relationship so her aunt doesn’t find out? What happens next? Do Rachel and Holden have what is needed to make it work? Will the aunt ruin everything? This is a heartwarming story about new love, tender and passionate with down-to-earth, likable characters who will make you laugh, smile and feel good. Enjoyable read!

Rachel and Holden have feelings for each other but her aunt has a stipulation on the buy-out of the craft store her mother loved to work at ... no military men, or the deal is off. Holden is ex military, along with five others that settled there after being released from service. Being secret about their feelings is a no go as the town is full of know-it-alls as most small towns are. Loved the characters and their backstories are terrific. The storyline is well written and keeps your attention focused. Plenty of drama, lovable banter, surprises, steam and big decisions. Love this series and can not wait to read more of this group.

Love mountain men books. Rachel co-owns the arts and crafts store with her aunt, Becky. She's been saving money to buy her out and should achieve it very soon. Holden has been trying to get her to date him to no avail. She has past history with her ex-husband who was a service member. The sale will not happen if she gets involved with another. Holden is persistent, he made a deal with Rachel that if he won the Moose contest the village has every year she would go on a date with him. They become close, she finds he's nothing like her ex. Aunt Becky returns. Read this story to see what happens. It's a good book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)
Rachel is working to by the store from her aunt and to avoid getting involved an military man. Holden have asked Rachel out several time and is continue to be turned down. Determined Holden does not let it stop him from getting what he wants.
This is a fast story with a bit a family drama as Rachel's Aunt has more against military men that is keeping her from give over the store. Holden is sweet and caring man, that will do anything to make Rachel's dreams come true.
Great addition to the series.

First things first; I like the cover of this book! Holden is the ninth book in the ‘’brothers in arms in Alaska’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Holden has wanted Rachel since he met her. Rachel is attracted to Holden but with a controlling aunt, will she take a chance at love? The chemistry between Holden and Rachel is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Grand Re-Opening. Awesome story. Holden has been asking Rachel out for a week and she keeps shooting him down. He refuses to give up on her. There is a reason Rachel won’t go out with him, her aunt will not ell the shop to Rachel if they get involved due to Rachel's previous marriage. What happens when aunty finds out, though? Will Rachel lose the shop she loves or the man she loves? Come build your moose and see.

Or will they be left with nothing? Another fast moving, instalove novella with a gorgeous growly Alpha and his sweet but sassy soul mate. They are a very sweet couple and the whole town is hoping they get together but hidden forces have other ideas. Holden, as you would expect, steps up and does 'the right thing' even when it breaks both their hearts....you have to love him for it, even as you hate him for crushing her! An enjoyable, steamy, quick read on Kindle Unlimited.
Kali Hart keeps writing amazing stories and Holden is her latest one! It’s soooo good! A cute bet amidst a fall festival with some serious moose making competition. Sexy Army vet, Holden, is adorably smitten with Rachel, a sweet and curvy shop owner who tries to keep him at arms length. But the sparks of passion and love can’t be denied despite the obstacles in their way. I love this series so much!

Holden’s wooing finally paid off, he got the girl or does he? Aunt Betty does not approved of him, what would Rachel do.
I liked Holden, he was willing to wait for her, even if will take a lifetime. He’ll moved away if that will make her have her dreams. That’s how much he loves her. Who would want a man like that

I’m really enjoying this series in the military veterans and their women. Holden has strong feelings for Rachel and she is fighting the attraction. There’s a reason why Rachel is pushing him away and it all has to do with her aunt Becky and the craft store. It was interesting the way that Holden broke down her walls and they had their happily ever after.

And the Golden Moose goes to Holden Black. This book is definitely worth the time to read. Holden and Rachel’s story is of an artists love and passion. It’s wonderful and beautiful. I’m looking forward to seeing Slade’s story.

Rachel wants to buy her business out of her aunt. She is really close to reaching her goal. But a man gets in the way. Holden asks Rachel out every day and the answer is always the same: no. Then they make a bet. A very emotional story about a girl trying to preserve her memories of her mother. I think this is one of the best books written by Kali Hart. Another great book in the Brothers in Arms in Alaska series with Rachel and Holden. She owns part of a craft store with her aunt where Holden comes to get supplies for the local festival. He keeps asking her out but she keeps turning him down until she doesn't. She has promised her aunt that she would no longer get involved with a military man so she tells him they must keep their romance a secret.
Fall festivals and pumpkin spiced lattes are part of this entertaining read. Rachel and Holden have felt an attraction to each other since they first met but Rachel has a past and a present that make her wary of a future with Holden. This was a great steamy fast paced read in this series. The characters had an emotional connection as well as an undeniable chemistry. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Rachel, the female lead, has been attracted to Holden, the male lead, since she met him but she can’t date him because then her aunt won’t sell her half of their jointly owned craft supplies store. Holden pursues Rachel but is willing to walk away to allow her to get what she dreams of.
This short story is dual POV, well written, and sweet, with both characters genuinely willing to sacrifice to have the best of each other.

I just loved Holden's and Rachels story. I wanted more of this short story and for it not to end. These two are so cute and perfect for eachother. Holden has tried to get a date with Rachel ever since he first meets her, but she keeps turning him down. Rachel knows Holden is not the same man as her ex. She has tried so hard to deny her feelings but cant any more.
Taking it slow, Holden is biding his time waiting for Rachel to give him a chance for a date. The chemistry between them is electric, but for Rachel it’s complicated. A good storyline with characters that are well developed, all these military men who have so much depth and care to give those they love

Nine books into the series and Ms. Hart is still providing us with wonderful couples. This time it's Holden and Rachel. These two dance around their attraction. Both determined...him to get her to give in...her not to give in. Who will win?

Not just a Janet Jackson song but Holden's mantra in finally getting Rachel to see he wasn't like her trifling ex. The whole moose contest is what Hallmark movies are made of, seriously. Did anyone else get that vibe? Oh, and Aunt Becky and her spies. Loved that this was set in a small business craft store in Alaska. Such an unique place.
Regret. Embarrassment. Holding something over your head that you can’t ever get from other. This is what Rachel is dealing with. Holden? Definitely willing to break down her defenses. But what kind of sacrifice is he going to take in order to prove that her craftiness is not all he wants. No cliffhanger

Holden and Rachel have been seeing each other secretly because her aunt wouldn't approve. And wouldn't let her have the craft shop that she wants. Steamy romance

I LOVED this latest instalment to the Brothers in arms in Alaska series! Holden and his sweet Rachel are the couple featured in this one. This book has it all - great couple, interesting storyline, minor drama, NSFW scenes and a lovely HEA! Loved it!
This was a great story. It was beautifully written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.
