Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson

Rate this book
The brand new book from bestseller Paris Fury - HOW DOES SHE DO IT? - is now available.

Gypsy Queen to the Gypsy King, Tyson Fury's wife Paris reveals the magical highs and epic lows of life with the Heavyweight Boxing World Champion, as she shares their life story and what keeps them strong through the good times - and the bad.

Paris Fury is Tyson's rock, the wife he thanks for all his success. Both from Traveller families, she married him at 19 and is hands-on mother to their six children, as well as at his side through every fight. Always glamorous, strong, grounded, and her own woman.

When Tyson's struggles with depression, OCD and alcohol have threatened to overwhelm them, she has held them together, and helped to see Tyson through to the greatest boxing victories.

With all her warmth, humour and honesty, she tells her story - from her Traveller childhood, falling in love, making a home and a family, to coming through Tyson's darkest moments. She vividly describes the anguish of their worst times, and what it's like to be at the ringside. And she shows what it takes to balance the fame, the fans and all the sporting pressures alongside everyday family life.

NB: I don't rate biographies and memoirs.

I really wasn't aware of Paris Fury, and by extension her husband Tyson, until I watched the Netflix documentary series At Home With the Furies and got caught up in watching their life. To say it seems chaotic is an understatement. Paris is a stay at home mother of 7 (5/6 at the time Love and Fury was written), and Tyson is often away training. On top of this Tyson also suffers from bipolar, making him very spontaneous and an emotional roller-coaster. It was interesting to see Paris and Tysons's background (they're both traditional Gypsy travellers) and see a side of them that's perhaps not seen very often. However I did find a lot of this to be very guarded and deliberate in the specific image Paris clearly wanted to portray. It didn't feel natural a lot of the time, however overall it was still insightful for those few snippets of life that Paris let's the reader glimpse at.

I really enjoyed reading about this lady and her lifestyle from a young child through to today. She is a very tough lady and living with someone like Tyson Fury is no mean feat. I loved reading about the gypsy lifestyle and learned a lot. They seem a happy family and I hope they can continue to remain so as people are always so quick to judge or try to get a story. Good luck to them.

I absolutely loved this book, so much so I couldn’t put it down and I’ve somehow managed to read it within 24 hours 😳

Although I am not from the traveller community/ heritage, I am from Doncaster and it brought back many fond memories in the first chapters of old haunts we share. Even my friend got married at the same place as Paris and Tyson!

I admire Paris and Tyson for their strong beliefs and attitude to life. I must confess that I already knew of many of the news stories mentioned as I had heard of them from the media but I still really enjoyed this book.

I really enjoyed this book!
A fascinating insight into life of the wife of Tyson Fury. Paris talks all about her traveller heritage, coping with Tyson's mental illness and numerous world famous boxing matches. A really interesting read.

I am not a boxing fan at all. But I do admire Tyson and enjoyed their documentary.
I have so much admiration for Paris. I have always been fascinated with the traveller community and their way of life. Her love for her community and her family is lovely to hear (I listened on audible).
As for her relationship with Tyson and his mental health issues, this struck a chord with me. I can totally relate to a lot of the sleepless nights she endured. My husband isn’t bi-polar, but he EUBPD and I can understand why she chose to deal with things on her own until the time when she realised they both needed support from friends/family/professionals.
Their love story is beautiful and I hope they get that football team of babies.
5 stars. Well done Paris

I thoroughly enjoyed Paris’s autobiography. She has always come across as very grounded to me and that was further enhanced by her story.
From her happy childhood, her traveller background and family-based good morals, she has maintained a respectful view of life, despite being worth millions from the success of Tyson’s career.
She talks about their first meetings, their courtship and their marriage honestly but with decorum - saying just the right amount so that they maintain a lot of privacy too. I have read some overly-detailed autobiographies but Paris remains classy throughout.

She addresses the really tough times of dealing with Tyson’s fluctuating moods and eventual breakdown and diagnoses. What an amazingly strong woman to have kept everything going despite her husband falling to pieces, changing into a person she barely recognised, and the absolute shock and horror of his attempt at taking his life and his drug abuse.
As brilliant as Tyson has been to advocate mental health awareness, Paris does an outstanding job of addressing just what it took for her to be there for him, to keep life as normal as possible for the children and look after her own well-being. Her dedication and love was and is testament to how seriously she takes her marriage vows and her role as wife and mother.

I’m really pleased that she wrote about the discrimination she has experienced throughout her life because of her gypsy background and described how the media have often only focused on the more extreme behaviours, doing an injustice to families like hers.

Paris speaks honestly about her baby loss, the growing intrusion from the media and how she just feels like an everyday mum to a large and growing family. She’s remarkably tough and inspirational. I admire her standards and strength.
I rated Tyson’s autobiography much lower a couple of years ago, mainly because I wanted to hear more about his joy in his family not just the sad and difficult parts, but Paris addresses this and so much more.
A very enjoyable read.

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish! ❤️ It was just so lovely reading about Paris’ upbringing from her childhood and how she met the love of her life: Tyson.

Such a humble lovely woman who has supported everybody around her and especially her family. A real family woman in and out, would do anything for them. In such troubled times she would be there ready to see them through the other side 🥲

I love her views on life itself and how we should make the most of it! How we should spend plenty of precious time with our family and children. I’m totally on the same boat. No matter what happens you have your family and that’s all that matters most.

This book is an absolute must-read! Well done to Paris and the Fury’s for making this book happen.

This was loaned to me by a friend and I had no idea who Paris Fury was at that time. Quick easy to read and now I know who she is and more about her life as a gypsy and wife of the boxer Tyson Fury. Not my normal reading material but have tried to vary my books this year and this one certainly took me to a new place!

I had no idea who Tyson or Paris Fury was when I picked up this book. It was cheap on Bookoutlet.ca so, I took a chance. Even during the course of reading it, I had to stop and look Tyson and Paris up on Google, then on Youtube to understand who they were. As a Canadian, who does not follow boxing or wrestling, I had no idea.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book though. Paris, the wife of Tyson, recounts her history of growing up in a "Traveller" community, which is a "Gypsy" community. One thing I really liked about this book was learning about the traditional Traveller ways of life, their traditions, and the expectations of those in this lifestyle. If you are thinking "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding", think again. Paris even says that; that show is very different than how she grew up. To me, she grew up in a very close knit community, who is misunderstood, but have their own world to exist in.

Another thing I liked about this book was how forthcoming Paris was about Tyson's mental health. She discussed his bouts of depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, all of it before they learned that he was living with Bi-Polar and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). If any of these things are triggers for you, especially suicidal ideation, I would avoid this book because Paris is candid about her experiences with Tyson. She is very open about the things they have done to help him with these things, and the little things she knows to look for when Tyson is struggling. I admired this book for that because she was so open about mental health. In our everyday culture it is becoming more of conversation but, not enough of a conversation still.

Lately, I liked how normal Paris and Tyson seem to be. They are obviously doing well for themselves. Tyson is a very successful athlete but, I liked how she talked about going to Zara for a skirt, and spending $120 pounds on a dress was a splurge for her. I liked how she talked about trying to keep her kids "normal", while also teaching them about their Traveller history. I liked how the family seemed to be living their own way, and not falling into the expectations that often come with being celebrities.

This was another great biography. I have followed Tyson Fury for the last couple of years, after reading his books and watching their documentary in 2020 and at first had judged him as someone I wasn't interested in but when I read his books my opinion changed, and even more so when I saw his documentary. I realised that no matter how much money and fame he has, he still has his own issues and is still very down to earth.

This was Paris' side of the story, and about her life with Tyson and his mental health issues. It covered a lot of things I already knew about from reading his books and watching his documentary but it was lovely to read things from her perspective. Sticking by him in the tough times when he was drinking too much, and even taking drugs, and still managing to bring up all their children almost single handedly sometimes, I take my hat off to her. It's lovely to see her support and dedication to her husband which is often rare now in some marriages, when the going gets tough, many people give up and walk away and it was lovely that this hasn't happened for this lovely couple, despite what the media may say.

As a family they know they can be judged because of their traveller background but they don't let that get them down, they ignore the taunts they are sometimes faced with and they carry on as normal. No airs and graces despite their wealth and OK they have a big house, and nice cars and clothes, but I am sure we all would if we had such a large family and plenty of money, I am sure we would all treat ourselves in that manner with that kind of lifestyle of work hard all the time.

A lovely read, well done Paris!

I thoroughly enjoyed this memoir by Paris Fury. Her honesty throughout was admirable, and staying true to her roots, I found this educational for many reasons.

I am not a huge boxing fan, but when Tyson started openly speaking about Mental Health, he caught my attention, as well as his ever supportive wife Paris.

Paris offers tips and advice to readers through her writing and I am so pleased that I picked this up. It’s rare to hear the carer’s perspective of mental health and lots of people will be able to relate to this read. Juggling family life, helping Tyson with his struggles as well as accepting he’s chosen profession, the love and inner strength that Paris has, shines off these pages.

Covering the highs and lows of life, Paris shared her most private and proudest moments. This wasn’t a glorified book based on her celebrity status, this was raw, emotional and brave. My husband doesn’t usually get involved with my bookish life, but he too was gripped to this.

I really hope Paris continues to thrive on her own merits. It’s become very evidential that she is so much more than a boxer’s wife!

A great inspirational read that I recommend to all!

This one was given to me. I prefer fiction to biographies and autobiographies, but I thought I would give it a go. I am a fan of Tyson Fury as he's one of boxings entertainers, and I was I interested in learning more about his experiences with Bipolar. This is his wife's Paris perspective, which gave a good insight into the traveller background and the early days with Tyson.

Paris comes across as a no-nonsense sort of woman, proud of her traveller roots. shes clearly a strong woman who held their family together when he was having bipolar episodes, whilst not being aware of what was wrong with him. This is often the case with mental illness it's hard to know what it looks like until it happens to your family, and it gets diagnosed.

It was a decent read, but I felt like I wanted to know more about the dark time she clearly had with Tyson. Maybe there was a sense of loyalty about not revealing everything . At times, it felt like i was reading a good housekeeping magazine as she talked about her household chores and her beauty routines, which is not what I want to read from an autobiography.

I am a fan of Tyson Fury. He has done so much to revive boxing and you just have to love his craziness. The fact that he is probably one of the most skilled boxers at Heavyweight the world has seen in some time doesn't hurt either. That said, I was intrigued to learn more about the man via the woman behind the man. Paris Fury. I can honestly say this was a great purchase and the story and reading of it by Paris was fantastic.

Paris Fury lays out an excellent story about her own life and how it merged in with Tyson's. You learn a bit about the Traveler/Gypsy world and get insight in to the highs and lows and then even greater highs of her life with the Gypsy King. All told in a very laid back manner that was completely engaging.

I definitely recommend this work either as a book and definitely as an Audible to anyone wanting a feel good story about a very down to earth person who coped with the lows of dealing with a loved one suffering from Mental Illness and putting family first to see it through. Great work Paris!

When dealing with mental health, an aspect that is usually overlooked is how it affects the loved ones and the immediate circle of the patient. This book offers an honest look into Tyson Fury's struggle through the eyes of his wife and partner. Very insightful and more open than the autobiography of Tyson himself. The book details how the marraige survived an unsurvivable predicament, what she did right and more importantly what she did wrong. How by missing the flags and by asking Tyson to man up and pull himself together she was making things worse for him, and how by feeling ashamed and deciding not to talk to anyone she was making it much harder for herself. Tyson Fury's descend to the bottom of alchol and drug addictions followed by his rise and reclaiming the heavyweight title is one of the most inspiring stories in sport's history. A modern day fairytale of love, faith, and resurrection.

I love a good autobiography and having read Tyson Fury's book, I was intrigued to discover that Paris Fury had written a book about living with Tyson through his ups and downs as a professional boxer with mental health issues. It's interesting to me because we always read about the person going through struggles with their mental health but we rarely read about the other half or the family they live with and how they were feeling. Immediately, this grabbed my interest and it's definitely a page-turner and something I was not massively expecting.

Paris Fury doesn't just write about her highs and lows with Tyson and what it means for her to be his wife but she also writes passionately about what it's like being a mother, a daughter and a Traveller and the joys and difficulties that the life has. I couldn't put the book down.

Paris Fury shares insights into her upbringing and her relationship with Tyson Fury in this very personal autobiography.

This was a beautifully raw, honest, emotional book. I appreciated how truthful Paris remained throughout the book and how strong she is as a woman, wife and mother. From giving insights into her traveller upbringing, her marriage to Tyson Fury, her experiences with pregnancy, pregnancy loss and motherhood, and the accounts of being in a relationship with someone who is in the throes of a mental health episode, her story is well articulated and sensitive. Paris Fury seems like such a genuine, down-to-earth lady with a lot of internal strength. I’m also glad that this is bringing awareness to men’s mental health and the experience of having a relationship with someone with depression. I would recommend this book highly.

I always knew Tyson fury but was really only introduced to Paris from their Netflix show and just seeing her on screen dealing with mayhem of her massive family and Tyson’s antics, I wanted to know more about her. I was really impressed with this book. First off, it’s clear she wrote it which I think adds a special element to it. It also just seems so genuine and authentic, she doesn’t shy away from discussing relationship lows or hers or Tyson’s lows. In fact she actively says they discuss these things publicly to try and normalize things like mental health. I also found learning about the Gypsy/traveller community really informative. She discusses the things that would be considered traditional and gives her perspective on it. Honestly think woman has the patience of a saint and she deserves nothing but spa days and pampering.

I'd recommend this book! It explores Tyson Fury's wife's story, and we learn about her separately from her husband's fame. We learn about the struggles of mental health within the family and how this was a challenge for each family member, especially Paris as his wife. Paris thought the best thing to do was talk publicly about it to raise awareness for others. Paris talked on Loose Women about her husband's mental health struggles in the hope to help others and is now invited as a regular guest on the show.
Paris talks about her childhood growing up in the Traveller community and the prejudices this community are faced with on a regular basis, such as being turned away from a restaurant. It took for Tyson's fame for the restaurant to invite them to the restaurant and out of principle they refused the offer after being discriminated against.

Heart warming relatable outstanding read

This book is a warts and all book. Love the fact money hasn't changed Paris she's still a full time housewife with the same problems we all have. I like she's not hanging off her husband or slagging off anyone. In fact she doesn't have a bad word to say about anyone.

Her life is so relatable and I found myself nodding along throughout her marriage ups and downs.
I love her morals and passion she's a breath of fresh air and this book was exactly that a fresh read of someone who shows money can't buy you happiness and love that you need to make yourself. Well done Paris

Paris Fury is truly a strong individual. Making a life with someone who has a host of mental health issues has got to be extremely difficult, and that's the point of this book. (On a personal note the flashbacks I got of my time with a shitty ex were vivid and very similar to what I was seeing in the pages so that was fun.)

I have to dock stars for personal reasons, ie, I feel like this memoir sort of glorifies the sacrifice and misery that comes out of being a partner to such a volatile individual. That said, I think Paris is intelligent and practical, both qualities that are apparent in her reality show as well (yeah I'm calling it her show and anyone who's watched it will agree.)

I absolutely loved it. I deeply connected with Paris’s perspective as a woman, even though I’m not a mother myself. I also learned a lot about her Traveller community — things I was completely ignorant about before reading this book.

What struck me most was her honesty. She doesn’t sugarcoat anything; she tells her story exactly as it is. I was shocked right from the beginning when she shared that she broke off her engagement, and later, when she spoke openly about how many times she thought about leaving her marriage. That level of openness felt incredibly brave and beautiful.

This book is realistic, raw, and deeply moving. I loved it and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
