Therapy is Magic moves away from the stigma sometimes associated with seeking help, and shines a light on the emotional and physical benefits of talking therapies. Jo Love shows us that with professional guidance we can heal ourselves and the relationships we have, tackle addictions and trauma, and save our minds.
Therapy is ... Magic really answers all the questions about therapy that you have, and a few more that you didn't realise you had! Jo Love has created a book that confronts and breaks down the assumptions and myths about therapy, and gives the reader confidence to pursue the best avenue for them. Traditionally therapy isn't universally accessible; often gatekept by NHS lists or restricted by fees, this book opens minds to the what, how, when, why and who. I believe this book will play a massive part in changing conversations and cultures around therapy as part of the mental wellness space.
A copy of the book was provided in exchanged for an honest review. Thanks to the author and publishing house.
Therapy is indeed magic, as long as you find the right therapist. Not everyone that has studied is going to be good at this just because they got the mark needed to achieve the title. not everyone that has a title is what they say they are.
Honestly, I wish I had this book then! Jo explains her journey through therapy and gives a lot of tools to make it easier for those who are not sure what to expect.
