I cannot adequately express how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE Emma Luna's writing style, but trust me, IT IS BOOK LOVE at its finest that's for sure. Now I know many aren't big fans of dark romance, and Trust in Me has a ton of darkness in it so I'm warning you there are triggers. Ever since I read Black Wedding, I've been chomping at the bit for Kellan's story & man Emma Luna exceeded my wildest expectations with it. See, he's been through much to the point I was questioning how he could still be standing, but in one word, Hallie, was how. She's his adorable tiny human who brought so much light to this darker story with her scene stealing ways. He needs a nanny, which is perfect since Mia is going to school to work in this field, so she's perfect to help him out. However, it gets complicated since he's drawn to her like you wouldn't believe, but he doesn't want it since his trust issues are understandably many. Mia has her own set of issues, and bit by bit we learn about them, but Kellan knows there's more to her than meets the eye so the journey is steeped in secrets that don't make friends making for serious twists coming in hot. Not to mention, fate bows down to no one, so things get really interesting & maybe just maybe he gets something wonderful in his life though it would be hard fought. Seriously though, you need to hit those one click buttons to experience all this goodness since I'm not saying anything else about it! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Emma has done it again. His book was everything and more. Kelang and Mia were meant to be everyone could tell. There chemistry was off the charts hot. The lies, betrayals and secrets just made it that much harder to get to their HEA. Mia and Kellan fought hard for they’re life together. I was beginning to wonder if in the end if everything that happened would be too much, but these two showed everyone that the heart wants what it wants. Such a great story and rye writing was impeccable.

I was so excited for Kellan and Mia's story ever since meeting them in Black Wedding! And after reading Kellan's backstory in Dangerously Deceptive I was desperate for him to get his HEA!
Kellan is still the hot nerd that we fell in love with, but he's much more guarded with his heart and Hallie's care since being betrayed by Shay.
Mia is Bree's best friend and studying childcare, which is perfect since Kellan is looking for a nanny. Kellan and Mia's chemistry is hot from the first page, but Kellan is wary of the pull he feels towards her, especially as he fears there is more more to her than the eye shows.
Their HEA was far from easy, this story is seeped in secrets, betrayals, and lies, but can Mia and Kellan fight fate? It's obvious to those around them that they're meant to be together, hell they even know it themselves, but the obstacles in their way feel too big to overcome. When truths come to light I worried that things had gone too far to be fixed!
Once again Emma has given us a beautifully, heartbreakingly dark story, it's gritty and raw but it's them and I loved every single word! 🖤

If you have read Black Wedding then you met Mia and Kellan in that book and you like me are probably really excited to get to read their story. On a side note, if you haven't read Black Wedding you really should. I loved it and you will see some characters from that book in this one too. If you have read Dangerously Deceptive, you got Kellan's back story and it probably will or did rip your heart out. That is the prequel to this series in case you were wondering and Black Wedding is the first full book but it focuses on Liam and Bree. Now we get Mia and Kellan and I'm just going to go ahead and say it. It was absolutely amazing!!!
Kellan is one hot little nerd that has really never ever had a great relationship with a woman. I just loved him so I just hated that the man had to go through all he has been through with the women in his life. He however was betrayed by Shay and that has caused him to be more guarded with his heart and that of his daughter Hallie's care because he just doesn't feel like he can trust anyone. But he needs some help with Hallie and Mia might just be the woman to do that since she is Bree's best friend and in school studying childcare. She would be the perfect person to take care of Hallie and I might as well warn you that that little girl is going to steal the show really. Mia too is a very guarded character from her past and that will unfold in the book and I don't really want to tell you anything that would ruin the greatness that is watching this entire book unfold. From the moment that Kellan and Mia meet he can feel the pull toward her but can he trust it? Or is she like every other woman that has ever been in his life and out to hurt and betray him. It is a journey but so worth taking as I loved this book and could have kept reading about these two for even longer than I did. I am so hooked on this series and am loving ever second of these book. If you like your books dark and dirty, full of twists and turns that will keep you one your toes from the beginning to the end then you don't want to miss this book or the others either really.

Guys, I've been waiting for this book for so long that I thought I would go insane.
OK, I'm being dramatic, it's not that long, but long enough. Lol
Emma Luna is the one to blame.
Her writing is raw and wild, intense, dark and dangerous and of course, I want more.
I can't get enough so I'm always eager to read a new book.
Trust in Me is her latest release and it's the second book from the Beautifully Brutal series.
But guys, I need to tell you something. You need to read Black Wedding first, then Dangerously Deceptive and only then, read this one.
Trust me, you must read in this order, or else, you won't be able to understand the story.
This new book explores the lives of Kellen and Mia.
Kellen closed his heart out after being betrayed in the worst way possible.
The only good thing was and still is, his daughter.
His life revolves around her, but it's not an easy task, and with his real job, he sees himself hiring a Nanny.
What he didn't want was to start having feelings for her...
Mia is a sweet, sweet girl, but secrets tend to put an edge on things. And that can be tricky.
When her best friend told her about a nanny job, she thought that it could be a good thing, since she's taking her childcare degree, the experience that job could bring would make a difference. But one look at the baby's father and...
Guys, when this book ended my heart was about to burst.
The way the story progressed killed me slowly.
How can people be like that?
My heart literally hurts.
Stellar plot, well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more intense than the previous and the need to keep reading overpowered everything.
All my doubts and all my questions were answered, and believe me, I had tons.
Hallie bear was precious, I wanted to hold and cuddle her. Lol
And Kellen and Mia, these two were so broken that made my soul hurt.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to hold them close and promise better days.
Life can be hard, but the people you surround yourself with make it all better.
And we have some hot stuff in there as well.
Overall it was an emotional ride, and I loved every single second of it.

Trust In Me the third book in the Beautifully Brutal series by Emma Luna was yet another phenomenal dip into the dark mafia world and a reunion with one of our beloved past characters. Right from the start, Kellan captured my heart and I’m so beyond thankful to finally have his complete story and watching it unfold with a fabulous heroine such as Mia.
Kellan, our sexy nerd of an MC, is a single dad raising his daughter Hallie on his own. Having been burned one to many times before, he’s now a much more guarded reserved man with trust issues—vowing to protect his daughter at all costs. However, he soon finds himself in need of help so Bree sets him up with Mia as a nanny. And let’s just say that fireworks commence!
Mia herself also has a troubled past that has created trust issues of their own for her, leaving her guarded and reserved and unwilling to get closer either. What happens when two badly burned and broken individuals come together in a dark collision of wills and traumatic pasts? Will they help heal one another’s wounds and find space in each other…or will their own demons and pain wreck endless havoc and harm?
This story was truly an emotional roller coaster of a ride as Kellan and Mia take you on an explosive journey as they encounter one obstacle after another. I absolutely loved their off the charts chemistry and the way these two lost and broken souls finally found a connection and redemption with each other.
Overall if you’re a fan of dark mafia romances that are filled with fabulous characters full of passion and heartbreak, intense heat and intriguing connections, mysterious secrets, deceit and betrayals and twists and turns around every corner then this is the one for you!

Kellan and Mia’s story is a tough one. They both have scars so deep that they feel as if they are destined to be alone for eternity, unable to trust easily, broken from their pasts, they find themselves pushed together by their closest friends, but their pasts come back and cause havoc with them. This time though, Kellan could lose the love of his life. He has to make a difficult decision and it almost breaks him.
I loved this story of Kellan and Mia. They are both awkward and broken, but they are perfect for each other. Kellan will not only have to fight for the woman that he loves, but also for his little girl when her being threatened of being taken from him brings a whole new secret to light. Now the Doughty family is brought together and will fight to help Kellen, not only in his custody battle for Hallie, but for Mia as well. This story was detailed in the past of Kellan, but not as much for Mia’s past. I am looking forward to more of the Beautifully Brutal Series to come. I give this book a 5-star review.

I claimed Kellan way back when we first met him in black wedding, I sealed that deal in Dangerously Deceptive. Now we finally have his story I'm afraid I have to give him up. I don't have it in me to steal him from Mia. Emma really did THAT well with his story.
This has the perfect mix of healing, redemption, running from your past and love that endures it all. sweet in all the right places with plenty of steam of the very best kind. Action packed ( do heed the trigger warnings) with plenty of cameos from Liam, Bree and others from black wedding you know it's going to get bloody.
This isn't a smooth ride by any means but it's well worth the ups and downs. When Kellan loves he loves hard and he's well and truly met his match in all ways in Mia.
At the risk of spoilers we get to see someone get some well deserved redemption, there may have been a tear or two from this black hearted soul

Kellen’s backstory in Dangerously Deceptive all but destroyed me, so I was incredibly keen to read Trust in Me, where I knew he’d finally get his well-deserved and long-overdue HEA.
Kellen has never had a good relationship with a woman, beginning when his mother abandoned him at a young age, up-to more recently when he was literally left holding the baby, after Shayla, the MC princess he’d fallen for, fled mere hours after giving birth to their daughter, Hallie.
That said, he was determined to do right by his little girl, so when Mia, a beautiful and fragile potential nanny comes into his life, with her wariness and secrets, he doesn’t trust her with his daughter, or his heart. Over time Mia starts to get under Kellen’s skin, and becomes an important fixture in his life. But for two broken people, things can never be that easy, can they?
Trust in Me is a deeply emotional read, where you find yourself utterly invested in the lives of Kellen and Mia. As a reader, I value how Emma doesn’t shy away from delivering an ofttimes raw and painful story. One thing I particularly appreciated was Kellen’s characterisation - he’s written as sensitive, brooding and vulnerable, especially in relation to his trials at being a single father. I’m so glad much of the hurt and mistrust from the prequel story was resolved in this book - those wounds truly needed to be healed.

I just have to say…I have been waiting for this book to see how Kellan was going to get the life he deserved after all the hell he’s been put through!! Emma absolutely did a brilliant job with this story, and it’s one of my top reads for this year. I love Kellan, I’m pretty sure I fell for him in Black Wedding and was anxious for his single dad story! Mia is this wounded fmc that just wants to be in control of her life, and to find real love. These two are explosive and couple goals!!
This Beautifully Broken world is dark & depraved and has me obsessed with these characters and the mafia world that keeps expanding. I love the dynamics of the family that these characters are creating together, forged not of blood, but of trust, love and loyalty. I love that all these characters are moving into one house where it’s easier to protect each other and grow together. I hope that continues to be their way. I was surprised at my feelings for Shayla & Whiskey. I do hope the MC comes more into play I think it could be interesting. I've been waiting and so excited to read this conclusion to Kellan and Mia's story. We first meet them in Black Wedding then get Kellan's back story in Dangerously Deceptive ( which broke my heart ) so I do recommend reading them in order to get the full story of these two.
Kellan has never had a decent or good relationship with women, he's had his heart broken and been walked all over. He's been abandoned twice by his mother and his ex who quite literally left him holding the baby, his daughter Hallie. With all that happening he's still determined to do the right thing by his little princess so when Mia the nanny turns up she herself is fragile and he clearly doesn't trust her at all. But over time he starts to fully see Mia and she gets right under his skin and him her too.
This is an emotional rollercoaster of a read and beileve me this story is powerful and will kick you in the guts more than once. Emma is becoming one of my new favourite authors as she knows how to tell a story and have characters that will grab you and pull you right in. After reading black wedding and meeting Kellen the hot single nerdy dad who was lost and gave up on , I knew I needed to know more about him. The Emma released dangerously deceptive and gave us all the back story and heart break we could handle. The last thing I was waiting for was kellans chance at real love! He needs it. He deserves it.
Send being betrayed and left alone by Shea Kellen had lost all hope of love and kept his heart guarded and only open for his daughter. That was until he met Mia who is Bree‘s best friend and was first introduced when she interviewed to be a nanny for Kellen.
The chemistry Kellen and Mia have is breathtaking of course he’s hesitant at first and wants to fight it but can’t. There’s twists and turns in betrayal Emma has it done herself with yet another great book and story. Her writing is perfection. The strong character builds were relatable and lovable. She gave us a little of everything we crave in a book. Highly recommend reading this series!

This is the third book in this dark mafia romance, which is Kellan and Mia’s story. This is an enemy to lovers dark story. Please check trigger warnings....I was so excited to finally have Kellan get his HEA. He is a single dad who needs a nanny and doesn't trust anyone. He interviews Mia to be employed, but automatically says no. These two are broken people which trust doesn't come easy to and when their pasts come back to haunt them, can they face their demons together? This is a well written story which is dark, raw, intense, and an emotional roller coaster. It has secrets, betrayal, lies, so much heartbreak, and of course twists. Along with so much sexual chemistry. I loved how much they each consider each other as family. I can't wait for the next book in the series. As much as I loved Liam and Bree, Kellan and Mia have definitely stolen heart along with baby Hallie.

Wonderful book. It will definitely have you on an emotional roller coaster. I love Kellan! He tries so hard to do the right thing. Mia…. My heart breaks for. These two together have more heartache than anyone deserves. I love how Hallie is everyone’s princess.this book shows you how cruel even family can be. It shows how wonderful it is when you have friends you can depend on to have your back. Great book!

This book is absolute perfection! Brilliantly written, Trust in Me has it all with the perfect combination of romance, steam, and drama along with elements of action and suspense. In the previous novel, I became particularly attached to Kellan so I was thrilled to read this highly anticipated dark romance!
I adored Mia and Kellan and really enjoyed watching their story unfold. Their road to HEA is wrought with obstacles and trust must be earned, but these two have a chemistry and connection that cannot be denied.
While this book is long, it does not feel that way as I was so fully immersed in this fast paced & riveting story that I was loathe for it to end. Trust in Me is a novel that will pull your heart strings while also leaving you frantically fanning yourself. There are some scenes that had my heart racing and on the edge of my seat. This book is a remarkable read and I highly recommend it!

I recieved an ARC for this one and I can honestly say you will want to add this to the TBR list. Another fantastic book in the Beautifully Broken series. This book will have you feeling it all and demanding more. Thr characters continue to be amazing and will have your love for them growing. This is a must read

Emma Luna delivers us with a story for two broken souls who try to find happiness together. This is definitely not an easy road for Mia and Kellan, but it shows obstacles that they have to overcome. I simply adore Mia and the strength she has. Kellan is just a heartthrob, hands down, one of the top characters I've read from Emma Luna.

I absolutely loved Mia and Kellan’s story!
Your heart will break for Mia and her trauma but I am happy to see her get her HEA. Kellan was so loving, caring and understanding with Mia and those steamy scenes were hot!
There was a lot happening in this story. We learn who Mia’s father is and how evil he really is. There is also secrets, lies, betrayal and danger in this book. This was an incredible read and I would recommend it to anyone!

Each book in this series continues to be better than the last. Her books have everything and her writing style manages to keep the reader engaged. I was so excited to read Kellan and Mia's story. Their chemistry is chart topping and the spice is there and the fight for their love didn't go without challenges. In the end even with secrets, betrayals and lies, Kellan and Mia can't fight fate. This was another beautifully dark story and I can't wait to read more.

I loved this story so much! At a certain point of this book I was sure I was going to take at least half a star just for the fact that there wasn’t the violence needed to deal with a certain someone but I know that this person needed to stay alive for later so I ended up discounting that fact but only because what came after that totally made up for it in my opinion. Yes I’m talking about an individual that should’ve been dead but isn’t and if you’ve read this book than you get what I’m feeling and coming from.
I also couldn’t read Dangerously Deceptive and I’ve tried but once I realize about who it was about, I had to jump ship. I hate Shayla with a passion in Black Wedding and even though I read that book awhile ago I still remembered that I didn’t liked her so I didn’t read it . I honestly think that reading that book probably would make reading this one difficult so I’m glad I didn’t. I would say only read it if you want more info on Kellan’s life before he becomes a single dad.
The first 50% of this book I was all in and I appreciated how the characters didn’t reacted to a certain situation the way I thought they would and it was kinda refreshing. The last part of the book was making me a bit worried about how it was gonna end because of the reason mentioned above but in the end it was a beautiful and strong story.
Kellan is so good and swoony. Good might be an odd word but bear with me here. He is everything that Mia would need in a man. You might laugh at this if you’ve read Black Wedding but honestly you can almost forget the Kellan in that story because when you start to know him, you will see what I saw in him. He is such a great father, friend and lover. He has his own ISSUES but he is so good to Mia and in handling with her issues as well. He has a heart of gold and I was swooning and rooting for him the whole story.
Mia is so lovable. She is very kind, great with kids, compassionate, empathetic and so much more.
Mia’s secrets and story were a lot and I mean a lot. I don’t think I’ve read a book with this kind of abuse before and it had an impact for sure. She is awesome as a nanny and she is a survivor who somehow still sees the light in her life which boggled my mind but that just proved how strong she was for pushing through. The way she gave her trust to Kellan and him his in return was beautiful to witness and very significant. I loved how Kellan helped her heal in more ways than one and it was everything. The way they both fell in love was again beautiful and despite their chemistry at first, they created their friendship first which led to a romantic one later. I feel like this was very needed to tell this type of story. This story wouldn’t work without them building their trust first and friendship before becoming lovers.
Their sexy times were of course great and sexy but more than that they were beautiful.

Hallie is the best baby ever! An intriguing addition to this thrilling series full of dark themes associated with organized crime along with electrifying romance. The first couple of books were outstanding with exciting action, drama, and bloody brutality with fantastic characters. I loved Kellan from the beginning as the tech genius supporting assassin Liam. Then came the heartbreak in his prequel that left him a sad single dad reeling from betrayal. Enter Mia, bestie with the new head of the Irish mob family, Brianna. Mia needs a job to finish university and Kellan needs a nanny so begins a tenuous agreement as boss/nanny/friends. Kellan tries to keep things friendly but it’s a lost cause even if he doesn’t trust Mia. Too many secrets and oh boy, what secrets those are. Tragic, heinous, gut wrenching secrets. The chemistry between Kellan and Mia is sizzling but she has too much damaged for a physical relationship. Can Kellan help her pass her trauma? Can he get past his fear of betrayal? I liked Mia but I thought she was too similar to Shayla from Kellan’s prequel with their brokenness and similar trauma. Also, I love a cute kid in a story but there was too much of Kellan’s daughter’s cute antics for me. Really, how much is there for a 7-month old to do? Poop, throw food, cry, giggle and repeat. Most of the story focused on Kellan and Mia’s relationship with high angst and without the intense action, violence, brutality, vengeance and fighting that I loved from the previous stories. All the action was saved for the end with surprises and retribution and one big reveal for Kellan. There was a lot of rehashing details from the prequel that works for this story as a standalone. I love the big Doughtry family and can’t wait for their stories. A new character was introduced for the next story, Belle, along with Declan. While this wasn’t my favorite I look forward to more of this brutally beautiful series.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Trust in Me. Being the second book in the Beautifully Brutal series, it goes without saying to please read Black Wedding before this. I do regret leaving it so long to read Kellan and Mia's story but I now have the remainder of the series on my Kindle ready to read so I won't be making the same mistake again.
