While driving through Amish country in Unity, Maine, Freya Wilson accidentally hits an Amish man with her car in a blizzard, instantly killing him.
Panicked, she leaves him there in the road and drives away, afraid that if she is arrested, her violent ex will locate her using his connections with the police...and kill her.
Adam Lapp left the Amish after his brother’s death and became a police officer for one main reason: to track down the person who killed his brother and left him to die. In his mind, he imagined a cold-hearted, mean drunkard with cigarette breath--not a beautiful, kind, mysterious red-headed woman.
He is instantly drawn to Freya, who is clearly on the run from someone. When she confesses to accidentally killing his brother Robert, he wants to hate her. He should want to arrest her and haul her to jail. After all, she’s the person he’s been trying to track down.
The community welcomes Freya into their lives, but not everyone in town is so eager to forgive Freya for killing one of their own.
Adam shouldn’t fall in love with the woman who killed his brother…but he does. He couldn’t protect his brother, but will he be able to protect Freya when her worst nightmare threatens her life?
Amish Accident is book 6 in the Covert Police Detectives Series. It is a standalone novel with a happily ever after.

He couldn’t protect his brother, but will he be able to protect Freya when her worst nightmare threatens her life? This is Freya Wilson and Adam Lapp's story. Freya Wilson adjusted her blonde wig as she glanced in the rearview mirror, making sure none of her own red hair was peeking through. She then focused on the long, winding road ahead as she drove through the dark in Unity, Maine. The never-ending farm fields, barns, and backroads were draped in a soft white blanket, only illuminated by moonlight. The peaceful scenery was the complete opposite of the Boston skyscrapers and bustle that she was so used to. Normally, she would have enjoyed the picturesque scenery, but right now she was too preoccupied with just trying to survive. Adam Lapp stepped inside the Amish church, shook the snow from his jacket, and realized that everyone in the room was staring at him. He stopped moving, feeling the weight of every eye in the Amish church upon him. He slowly removed his black-rimmed hat. “What?” he blurted. “ Was ist letz ?” he asked in Pennsylvania Dutch. “What is wrong? Did anyone find Robert yet?” “Son, there has been an accident. Robert has been killed.” I recommend reading. Amish Accident by Ashley Emma is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Ashley Emma. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Have you ever been in your life where something so tragic has happened, and then you seen how God has taken those moments and turned them into love. And ever had to forgive someone that did the wrong and try to live with doing what is right and forgiving that person. This book showed me where a lady Fraye didn’t have a good life as a child, to finding someone to love her, to a man that showed her love, then beat her all the time. Her older gentleman neighbor gives her a car and money and tells her to leave him. If she did he swore he would find her and kill her. But she finally does leaves. Then she accidentally hits an Amish man, he dies, but she knew she couldn’t stick around cause if her name got in the paper Dean, the boyfriend that beats her would find her and kill her. She lives with the guilt so a year later she goes to find the family and tell the truth. At the cemetery she meets the brother, who left the Amish to become a police officer and find who killed his brother and send them to prison. They have coffee and she tells the whole truth, but he does not arrest her because she was running for her life. This book you will find out how a family forgives her, the wife took longer, and how God can take a tragedy and turn it into his wonderful love and family. Great book, absolutely wonderful series.
CONTAINS SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ BOOK ONE IN THE SERIES. This series continues to be a good Amish action/romance series. This is book 6 in the series and I feel like this should have been book ONE. If you have read the first book in this series, you already know that Freya is the one that killed Robert, you already know the family had forgiven her, you already know that her and Maria become best friends, that she marries Robert's brother and so on. This books just goes more into detail of why she was where she was, details of what exactly happened, and how they came to forgive her... There should be a tandem read on these. It is from different character view points and does contained things not previously mention. However, I find myself thinking "wait, isn't she married" or "did this happen before he became Amish". It may just be me, as I'm ADHD and don't always remember details, but it's a bit confusing. I would still recommend the read though to anyone that enjoys Amish Fiction.
Adam Lapp left the Amish when his brother was killed in a hit and run accident, so he can get justice for his brother. Freya Wilson finally gets the courage to leave her abusive boyfriend, with the help of her elderly neighbor. While driving in a hazardous snowstorm, putting as much distance between herself and her boyfriend who had told her many times he'd kill her if she ever left him, she accidentally hits a young man. Fearing for her life if the police is notified she takes the young man's hat and flees, vowing to return to apologize to the young man's family. When Freya shows up later, most of the Amish community accepts her. Even Adam is drawn to her. When Dean, Freya's ex, shows up to make good on his promise, Freya fears for her life. Can Adam save her or will he lose her forever? How did Dean finally find her? Read this book to find out. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this my honest review.
Amish Accident is not only a truly inspiring story of forgiveness but of healing as well. This is an amazing story written by Ashley Emma. The characters are really easy to love and imagine them as friends. With domestic violence as a main part of this story it is also the reason so much love has come from it. When Freya finds herself running for her life a tragic accident happens which drastically changes the course of her life. The journey she takes to find forgiveness, healing, love, and family is very heartwarming. This story really shows the reader that through the power of prayer and love if God all things are possible.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.
I borrowed this through KU - this series does not have to be read in order as they skip back and forth in time - this one starts with the accident that causes the death of an Amish man during a snow storm and the crisis it causes for his family and for the woman who caused his death in a snowstorm.
It has plenty f twists, turns. and surprises - An important part of the main theme is the need for forgiveness, and the difficulty in forgiving but the rewards of eventually forgiving incidents from the past. This one will keep you turning another page and another page until you've finished the book.
Unforgiveness hurts the person most who is not forgiving some one, not the person you're not forgiving o not the person being. Sometimes forgiving yourself is the hardest thing to do.

Freya is living in an abusive relationship. After an incident of abuse, she couldn't take it anymore. Her neighbour gave her some money and his wife's car to leave and go somewhere she would be safe.
She is travelling through a severe winter storm and is involved in an accident. She tries to help the victim, but he was killed instantly. She panicked and left to go to Canada so her ex-fiance could not find her..
A year later she decides to return to the area where the accident occurred.
This story is about love, forgiveness and second chances.
A year after Freya Wilson killed Robert Lapp when her car ran into him during a blizzard, she returned to Unity, Maine to admit her guilt. She meets Robert's brother Adam and learns the Amish didn't report the accident and Adam had left the Amish community to become a cop to look for Robert's killer. Over time Adam's feelings for Freya change when he finds out she is the guilty one. Well written story that was hard to put down.
This addition to the Covert Police Detectives Unit Series is a “Don’t miss” read. The story is a thriller, a romance, and brings to light a problem in this country that I was unaware existed. Anna is a nurse who gave up her Amish upbringing to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. Her Amish side influences everything she does, including getting very involved in a dangerous plot to stop a ruthless trafficker. She and her companions are a perfect example of what friendship truly means.
A great book that explores forgiveness in the lives of an Amish family and a stranger. Another great book by Miss Ashley with a great ending a few surprises along the way. If you've had to deal with very abusive relationships you might have a hard time with a few chapters. As always God is a good Father that loves His children and works to redeem every area of our lives. Thanks Ashley for a good book that looks at hard areas of life.
I enjoyed reading this book I recommend that you read it. A young woman whose boyfriend abused her. Her neighbor helped her escape the boyfriend. As she was traveling down a road where the amish live. The snow coming down so hard. As she drove she saw something that looked like a horse she tried not to hit it. As she got out of the car what would she see? You must read this story to find out

You take a tragedy and put it together with God, and you have one great story of love and forgiveness. I could not put this book down. Loved the fact that 2 people who find themselves at a man's grave, could meet and become partners in life. They met after tragedy and found God's love. He was Amish, she was an Englischer.
A sad young woman, without a family, makes a bold move but death claims a much loved husband, brother and son. Building on a tragic event there are many tears but when Adam works through her terrible past he brings her to triumph and a family of her own
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Amish Accident is a beautiful story of how God might work out His will in a tragic situation like this. It’s a warm, tender love story. Forgiveness makes it work and gives it a happily ever after ending.
I really loved this story! It was beautifully written. Tragedy turned to joy. I loved how it clearly demonstrated how God can make good things out of bad for those who love Him. And how forgiveness can eliminate bitterness. I think this is my favorite in the series!
This is the second time I read this book. These books are all wonderful and I'm gonna continue reading the rest of the series. Anyone who picks up the covid Anyone who picks up the covid police detectives unit series Will be in for a real treat because they are Very Wonderful read.
It was a great story. Ashley Emma took a shorter story about Freya and made it into a book. Great characters in Freya and Adam. Easy story to read and follow. I received a copy of this book but all opinions are my own.
What an exciting storyline, with Freya and Dean and the Lapp Family, especially Adam. Very interesting story about the Amish and their love of God and life. Will continue us to follow this talented author.
I would recommend this book to anyone who lovesclean romance. This book has a surprising time of acceptance. Learning to forgive while struggling is just one of the strong points in the book.
This book was so good, it has all of your emotions going. Sadness at first and then overflowing happiness for the couple at the end. Such a great story I couldn't put it down!
Freya was fleeing her abusive fiancee when it happened. She thought her life was ending, how could she know if was just beginning. Adam vowed to avenge his brother's death. Could his Amish family ever recover from that loss?
Really good book. Sadly it’s very true but this is a happy ending. I know this is fiction but truthfully could be a true story or based on a true story. Highly recommend
Amish Accident is a tremendous story of tragidy, bitterness, love and forgiveness. It is a testament to Romans 8:28. God can truly make something beautiful out of tragic events. Of this series this has been my favorite b
This storyline shows how people can forgive and still be at peace with each other. The act of their forgiveness has helped all the characters grow and become a family.
This is a good story about an abused woman who accidentally hits and kills an Amish man. His brother leaves the Amish to become a police officer in order to find his brother’s killer. Good romance. Good characters and story.
