USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLER - Scott Blade is a Nomadvelist, a drifter and author. He writes the bestselling Jack Widow book series, two of which reached the Top 100 list on Amazon, knocking Harry Potter & Jack Reacher off the top spots, which angered one of the big publishers. Scott wears that fact as a badge of honor.
Scott Blade isn't a traditional novelist who spends his time stuck behind a computer desk in some dreary office. He truly walks the walk. He drifts around like the nomad he writes about, touring the world, writing mysteries and searching for the perfect coffee.
Read this as it was recommended to me, it was fantastic, think of Jack Reacher in America! Great storyline, good characters. Looking forward to reading the rest in the series
I think I started reading the series yesterday. So one to three in twenty four hours is not bad. I don't do comparisons. I have to visualise in my own head, and if I can relate together I'm reading, then you have got me. You got me, first three pages, and I was there, and I shall be here until the very end. So I thank you from the bottomless pit of my heart, and now happily I'm off to read the next box set.🤗
He's the son of a Reacher man. Lee Child, say thank you. Andrew Child, take notes.
This Jack Widow series has unashamed echos of the Jack Reacher series. The premise seems to be that Reacher had a son which he didn't know existed because the mother never tried to find him to tell him. Widow is an ex-SEAL that retires from NCIS black-ops to become a drifter (like his father) because "it is in his genes." He dispenses swift and ugly vigilante justice to those who prey on the weak.
An apt description from the author himself ..."a fast-paced series that takes Widow (and you) all around the world, solving crimes, righting wrongs."
Once you begin you can't put down a Jack Widow book. I love the humour in the books, the coffee addiction, his thought process, ability to get into and out of many crazy situations, help the underdogs and those worthy of his assistance. Scott's writing and familiar lines like 'Widow stayed quiet ' 'Widow looked left, Widow looked right', ' Widow just saw the most beautiful woman ever' and my personal favourite is anything to do with his head butts! I am always recommending Jack Widow books by Scott Blade to everyone I know who loves reading.
Good read so far (1-3), the main character grew as books progressed, will definitely be reading the rest, to see how or if he evolves any more, more of a doer than a thinker, can’t say he is like a young Jack Reacher exactly, but along those lines. Stories Easy to follow plots don’t get bogged down with too much planning , I enjoyed them, worth a look.
Loved the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, and Jack Widow is the same genre. A drifter, who stumbles across difficult situations and bad people, and manages to get involved. Good, easy reading, with characters that are well drawn. Well worth a read of the whole set. Much cheaper on Kindle than anywhere else.
It is a shame that the hero is too similar to Jack Reacher. Had he not been so some the story would have been better. There were some errors which should have been corrected during proof reading. Some of the descriptions were very similar, for example when Widow killed someone there was 'an explosion of red mist'. Otherwise not too bad.
If you enjoyed the stories about Jack Reacher, you will find this series very similar. Good pace, Jack Widow is a do good ex marine, NCIS, undercover agent who learns that following where life leads without responsibilities suits his personality and skill set.
Awesome story line. Not over the top with the plot
Definitely recommend. Looking for the next one. Widow has good skills learnt with his classified past. Appears to not have many friends but does have worthwhile contacts in high places.
Not great literature. Not even the best of its genre. But a fun read - great story and characters. Good, well-paced writing. I like these books and will continue reading the entire series.
I have come to enjoy Jack Widow and his life. The fact that he was NCIS gives creditably to his involvement in mysteries as he travels. As I said in my headline, very entertaining reads!
Just finished the first 3 books of this series. Jack Widow is a great new character. The author has built a a backstory for this new anti here. Looking forward the the next book to in this series.
If you have a couple of hours to fill these are a poorer relation to the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. They will not test your reading ability or provide much cerebral challenge, but who cares they are escapism pulp fiction.
Well wasn’t sure I would like these. But what a shock I got. Great series, gripping with twists and turns. Fantastic read, I would definitely recommend to anyone for something different.
Scott Blade's writing is sharp and entertaining. This story moves at a cracking pace full of action. Widow is an entertaining and engaging hero. A great read.
Jack's a likeable bloke just trying to to his own thing. Trouble is trouble finds him and his mother brought him up to be a good boy and help people out. Great writing, Scott. Many thanks. Onto the next omnibus.
Once Gain, Widow is the hero. Protecting a young girl, fightjngvto keep her slive to get yo her dying mother. A lot of action that is violent. I enjoyed the book, but found it very violent.
If you like the first ten years of Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, you'll love Jack Widow! Excellent character and great writing. They are much better than the Reacher books written by Andrew Child!
A really good read, I already said Scot Blade is my replacement for Lee Child in a previous review, every thing I like in a book, action, adventure, violence, guns ,intrigue a little bit of sex.and a good storyline every time.excellent.
I read all 3 of series collection 1 and wax spell bound. Scot Blade is a writer you won't turn away from. You are on TBE edge trying to figure out his next move , e joy!
Love the character Jack Widow. Great story line and love that hesitate his ex SEAL military. Recommend these books. Looking forward to the next set of books as I have already purchased up to books 9 books from this series.
This was a great series. The plots were well thought out and the main character easy to relate to. I am looking forward to reading more about Jack Widow.
Nice summer read. Straight forward but interesting. Nicely crafted. Realistic stories. You kind of know the outcome, but the trip is good. I enjoyed it.
