Following a very public—and very scandalous—breakup with his boyfriend, guitarist Jet Cooper’s musical career is on the rocks. Desperate for redemption, he reluctantly agrees to his manager’s last-ditch suggestion for a comeback. The catch? Jet must craft his next big hit with award-winning songwriter Skye Sweeting, a man known for composing love songs with lyrics just as sappy as his name implies … and although Jet does many things, sappy isn’t one of them.
What the jaded rocker doesn’t know is that Skye has seen his own fair share of heartbreak. But when one of L.A.’s infamous earthquakes leaves the two men stranded together, they’re both given the chance to overcome their mutual loathing for that dreaded four-letter word: love.
Whether or not they top the charts, the art of reinvention has never felt so good.
A standalone, lighthearted, forced proximity MM short story.
After a scandalous breakup with his boyfriend, guitarist Jet Cooper has some adjustments to make. His manager suggests that he writes his next hit with Skye Sweeting because he needs a big comeback to save his career. Jet is not a sappy singer and not pleased with this solution. But when an earthquake strands them together, it is an opportunity to learn more about each other. Will they find what they both need to heal their hearts in each other?
Earthquakes can unite as well as destroy. Jet, broke up with his long time boyfriend out of dignified necessity. The love of Skye's life died two years previously. Skye felt responsible for Daniel's death. He was smothered in guilt.Jet was forced to collaborate to try to salvage his reputation. Each man dragged an anvel of emotional baggage. Can they drop the weight long enough to write an award winning song? Good story. Good vibe. Nicely done. Way too short! I recevied an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book I’ve read by A. L. Morrow. It focuses on Jet, a musician, and Skye, an award winning songwriter who work together to create a new hit song for Jet. This whole short story is based around the visit where that takes place. Considering the short length of the story, I felt like a lot was covered, and we got to know a fair bit about both Jet and Skye. I would have loved it to have been longer, to see more of them together. Recommend this if you fancy a quick, short MM read with a good storyline.
This was my first book by A.L. Morrow and I will be back for more. I thought that this was a really sweet book. Jet and Skye were both hurting because of past relationships (same pain, different reasons) yet they are drawn to each other and can't help but be drawn to each other. These two get a really sweet second chance at love. I would recommend this book and will be back more by this author.

My first A.L. Morrow read, and for sure not my last.
This was a quick, under-an-hour read that manages to pack in detailed, dramatic backstories that make the present make perfect sense, while working in some sweet feels and sexual tension, a bit of adventure and a fictional version of the music industry. Despite being so short, it lacks absolutely nothing. This is an author to watch.
A short story involving two broken men, a badly needed new hit song, and an earthquake. It's a very gentle tale as Skye and Jet try to compose a song that will be a big hit and help the masses forget about rock star Jet's violent outburst and attack. Skye is an award winning song writer still healing from his husbands sudden death. A rather sweet story, an enjoyable read.
Jet and Skye meet after a betrayal by Jet's Ex. What starts out as a collaboration on a new song turns into them recognizing each has what the other needs. Wish the story was longer and explore this new relationship more. Good writing by Morrow.
One is going through a bad break up, one is recovering from loosing his love. Can they make music together?
In my opinion, this was a cute read, with two people healing each other's hearts. I loved how they were willing to take that chance and put their hearts out there again. Cute, quick read!

Usually, rockstar romances are not my jam, but I thought I would give this a try. Loved it from the first page. It’s a short story, so of course I wanted more, but it was great as is. Loved the characters, the banter, the steam. So glad I found this book.
