Liar: Based On Everyone's True Story

Endorsed by best-selling author, Dr. John Townsend,
Liar Based On Everyone's True Story is a book for Christian teens who are struggling with their faith. Age-appropriate for twelve and up.

A young prince embarks on a mission to rescue the kingdom he loves.

The kingdom of Struggle is being lied to by an unseen enemy. Liar. Lurking in the sinister forest, Liar attacks the minds of the villagers by whispering subtle thoughts into their ears. At night his poisonous serpent-vines advance against a people ignorant of his crimes. Liar has been warring against Struggle without opposition and his greatest harvest is truth and freedom.

Poor, orphaned, and alone, the unlikely-named Prince sparks a rebellion. A beautiful, mysterious woman lies dying from Liar’s wounds, but Prince is determined to rescue her. His brother is also marked for death, so Prince must save him too. Fear sends out tentacles of mistrust, and Prince’s hope is crushed beneath Liar’s curse, “Everyone you love dies in the end.”

For Prince to rescue a kingdom held captive to Liar, he must trust the King and the mysterious woman to help him. Embracing the impossible, Prince embarks on the quest and risks his very life…for love.

B.Botz has done a masterful job in her debut novel “Liar”. She has woven Biblical truths into a winsome story that is both stimulating and engaging. Those who have eyes to see what the Spirit is saying to the church will recognise a tale that begins in paradise, travels through the valley of the shadow of death, and culminates in a blood-bought victory. As you ruminate upon this treasure, deeper and deeper insights into eternal truths will be uncovered. As a Biblical counsellor, I highly recommend this book.

Creative. An allegory with a penetrating story line that lingers. So many quotes stick with you. It took just a little while to catch onto the storyline, but soon I was hooked and couldn't put it down. An important theme of trust, healing, and acceptance of God's gift of grace.

I’ve had this book since it came out and I am constantly recommending it to people. Liar is particularly potent for college students navigating their way through leaving parents and making their own way in the world. Reading each page brings me to a quote from my pastor, “countless men have died for their king, but only one king ever died for his people.” To learn more about who this king is, read on…

This book. I want it to be a movie!

It took a little bit for me to "get it", then I was hooked, and now I can't stop thinking about it. (A year later.)

What a great way to etch a vision into my soul: how evil grabs us and doesn't let go! I wish ALL of us understood its truths. I wish MEN would read this and see what we ALL hide from one another, thinking it's the only way to survive.

This story will change how you see almost everything, I promise.

This book was engaging from the first page! Really reminds me of a modern day, more exciting version of Pilgrim’s Progress. Excited to reread it and do the study guide. Botz excellently uses allegory to expose the lies we are all tempted to believe and reminds us of the Truth
