The Secrets of Sera's Point: A Tale From Morzania

Rate this book
Blood magic is the most obscure of magics. No one truly understands it, even those who practice are baffled by its nature. Juliana hates blood magic. It was blood magic that Godfrey and Sebastian used to bind her, blood magic that kept her prisoner and made her an assassin. After returning to her homeland of Morzania she’d hoped to never cross paths with that type of magic again.High above Tramain, at Sera’s Point, chantry sisters are being murdered. The King’s soldiers ignore the mystery, choosing to let religious circles handle their own crimes. By law, the chantry’s mother is responsible for dealing out punishments to those inside her domain, but what if the hierarchy of the chantry is doused in blood?Juliana and Michael are dispatched by Commander Jamison to investigate the murders. Upon reaching Sera’s Chantry, the duo is separated and Juliana receives an invitation to join the higher ranks of chantry magi. Accepting the invitation could help solve the murders, but it would also expose her to the darker side of her nature as a mage. Can Juliana stand firm when surrounded by promises of power or will the scared little girl inside of her who never wishes to be at the mercy of anyone else again rise and take what’s offered?

nice finale

As previously reviewed, the book automatically gets three stars because it takes guts to write. Which is why I don't.
Anyways, the reason for the 4 star rating is because:
1.) needs a serious editor - grammar, misuse of 2nd and 3rd person and some time line issues
2.) great world building - love the world building, the creation and different types of fantasy creatures and elements
3.) the main character - even though this time has Juliana questioning darn near everything, it was still entertaining and enjoyable. I really liked Michael. He was kind, funny and had a good head on his shoulders. Juliana and Michael were great characters this author created.
4 stars.

I know for a fact their isn't no The End in bold letters, more like to be continued. Anyways, as much as I never wanted this one to end and continue going forward; it's more of like what will Juliana, Michael, and Cole be up to next. It is worth picking up the Series. I will not be saying what goes on because this book is literally a quick read. Juliana is brave, Mouse is something with a bit of trouble, Milo is rather funny, and Michael, he has his hands full with the crew.

I do highly recommend reading this Series. You will not regret it.

I bought it for the cover, and loved the story!

This is another great book by W.A. Ashes! It's well written short story; it got me hooked from start to finish. She really knows how to bring a reader in. I adore Juliana and her courage. I wish Mouse had gone with her and Michael.
