This tale of revenge is fairly decent. Not really anything new, but a enjoyable read. The book, or rather the firearm information, is completely historical inaccurate. The use of a 30-30 rifle is absolutely wrong as this caliber rifle was not even invented in the year 1875. Otherwise the book was just ok.
WOW!!!!! This book was excellent and I'm so sure the entire series will be great. I seriously recommend this to be read but as always in order. This was full of everything. Sadness, excitement, thrills, love, and so much more. Very happy with this read and looking forward to all that come out.
Wow! This author's debut novel would make Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey proud. It fast moving and action packed! I highly recommend that all give it a read. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait for the sequel!
Westerns aren’t my normal read but this is so much more! I read it in 2 days. So did my husband - who has read 6 books in the last 45 years😂. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
My first read of Monty Garner's books and it was excellent from start to finish. A young man fighting for justice for the wrongful killing of his family.
Good read. Nice to read a book where somebody’s done the research and the tale is pretty factual. Lots of action in the main character handles everything pretty well thank you
I love the way this series started and the fast-paced action. It definitely is a series I will be reading as the characters areso rich and the adventure is nonstop. I'm off to read book 2.
Card Jordan is sixteen years old. He returns home from a hunting trip and finds his family has been murdered. The rest of the story takes two months, as he finds the outlaws and kills everyone.
What a book. The story line is believable. I could not put it down. I am sure the author will continue with a series of books about Card and more adventures.
Card, Kill Them All, Monty Garner (western) Jeff Book Review #186
In this 2021 western revenge tale, teenage Card Jordan finds his family has been murdered and he vows to hunt down their killers. There's a morality conflict as young Card hunts down the killers and meets good folks who varyingly agree or disagree with his chosen path. If your mother, with her dying breath, told you to avenge her and kill the bad guys, would you do it? Of course you would. I'm not sure what all of Card's moral hand-wringing over the course of this book was about...
Verdict: If you enjoy modern westerns in the Deacon or Schwab style I recommend trying at least one Garner to see if you like it. This one didn't work for me but I'm not a vengeance fantasy trip fan.
Jeff's Rating: 2 / 5 (Okay) movie rating if made into a movie: PG-13
