Broken Love Duet #2

On My Way to You

Rate this book
Some love stories are sweet and beautiful. And then, there's ours.

I let her go.

I didn’t have a choice

Callie was never mine—she couldn’t be.

She belonged to my brother.

It was his ring on her finger.

I hated him for that.

Sometimes I hated her.

There were things I didn’t know and ultimately, I let her down.

I did everything I could to rectify that.

Including getting revenge on my brother.

Still, you can’t stay where you’re not wanted. I was forced to walk away yet again.

Unfortunately, walking away doesn’t mean forgetting.

Old flames can smolder for a lifetime, refusing to burn out.

That’s not always a good thing—especially if it ignites flames that consume you.

On My Way To You is book 2 of the Broken Love Series. You must read book 1 first.May contain triggers.

I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.

I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.

Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.

Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.

Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.

VERY intense and dark

This is NOT a fluffy, all is right with the world love story. It's dark, and gritty, and HARD to read sometimes. But it also sucks you in and leaves you breathless. It leaves you waiting on the next with baited breath.

There's a lot going on in this series and this is ABSOLUTELY NOT a standalone, you MUST read book one, "Mistakes I've Made" to read this one and have it make sense.

There's lots of questions unanswered still and I'm eagerly awaiting the conclusion of Callie and Reed's love story. I'm also hoping for more on Katie and Jake's story too.

Jordan Marie is a hard hitting author who has some really light hearted and funny works, but she also does deep and dark REALLY REALLY well too. Her characters have so many facets to them and her world building is top notch.

Be warned this is a book with some seriously deep, dark issues that some may not be able to handle. Personally, I wanted to commit some violence against a couple characters myself while reading it. It kept me up reading all night until I finished the book in one sitting. So freaking amazingly well done.

WELL worth the time and money. Well done, Jordan.

OMG!!! THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING
Jordan Marie is killing me with this couple.
They are torn apart in book one by all kinds of crazy mistakes.
This one the are apart and she is put through literal hell. I have no idea how she survived. My heart broke for her.
Just when I think I am going to get my HEA. This author throws a curve ball and now I am DYING for book 3.

Honestly, this story blew me away! You need to read it, well firstly read book one, Mistakes I’ve Made, as it is necessary and a great read too. The angst and heartbreak are so real, I needed a timeout occasionally to centre myself because the story is that real—unfortunately.

Callie and Reed were like two ships destined to miss each other in foggy seas at night. My inner self was telling Callie to leave Mitch but did she listen? 😀 Reed on the other hand looked at life as it was and surged ahead. Callie needed to grow up, I felt, but sheesh not the way she had to and I actually think she went backwards. Reed is such a great guy! That’s it, end of story. 😄

This fast-paced story sets up book three and I have to say I think it too will be a doozy. While this story has some very dark elements they are written carefully and the topic is executed expertly. I don’t want to go into any more detail or I will give too much away.

There’s so much that happens in this story that, like I said in the beginning, you need to sit back and digest everything—to me a sign of an excellent story. Bring on the final book!

When Jordan said she was going to let them speak and tell their story, I knew it was going to be a doozy of a heartbreaker but I was not quite prepared. It gets dark and painful y’all but Callie needed her story told. I’m not playing around when I say some of these situations are hard to read about and it gives perfect explanation to why she becomes a shell of herself. Reed tries his hardest but can only do so much. This is something that can only be fixed by the one who has dealt with it and lots of therapy, which Reed does not have the experience with, no matter how much he loves her.

Jordan takes us on a roller coaster ride of devastation, hope and healing. I love that she’s stayed true to these characters and lets them tell their story. I felt them in my heart and even hours later, they are still on my mind. I can only hope they finally get the peace they deserve.

4.5 Broken Love Stars🌟

This story originally started as a duet and I can now understand how it turned into a trilogy🤩 Reed and Callie’s story is complex and heartbreaking and deals with real life situations. Unfortunately, the effects and consequences of these real life situations can be lifelong and could take years to overcome.

In Callie’s case this is true but much like Katie, she doesn’t want to be a burden to those she loves and gives up a piece of her heart so Reed can put himself first❣️Not sure I’d ever be that brave but Callie is and I hope she and Reed can get their HEA and put their pasts behind them and move forward😍

Looking forward to the conclusion❤️

This book will definitely tear you open. It definitely has triggers like domestic violence topic. I couldn't put this book down. It definitely describes the hardship two people that have feeling towards each other, but can not seem to be together, because there is always something in the background.

WOW!!!

Goodness this story really pulls at the heartstrings!!! Everything that Callie goes through is just gut wrenching!!! To have someone that will do for you what Reed has done for Callie should be enough to set you on the path to mending your broken soul. Unfortunately this hasn't happened with these two yet. Sure hope these two find their happily ever after!!!

You know going into this one that it's going to break you down, make you cry ugly tears and cause you to feel everything for Reed and Callie. Your heart just breaks for all that Callie has endured. And Reed loves her so much but there's only so much he can do for her.

You know it's an amazing book when days later you still can't form the words to write a worthy review. I am so glad Jordan let her characters speak to her and am so anxious for the conclusion of their story. As with any Jordan Marie book she's an excellent storyteller because she causes you to feel everything.

On My Way To You is a continuation of Reed and Callie’s story, Mistakes I’ve Made and must be read in order to understand the story.

On My Way To You reveals more of Callie and Reed's heartbreaking journey, but one thing that hasn't changed is that it doesn't matter how much time passes. The intense connection that began in high school is still as potent as ever.

Callie and Reed's story has had a darkness lurking on the edge of every page since the beginning, causing the hair on your arms to rise, knowing people were not who they represented themselves as...and all you could do was turn the page, holding your breath, waiting for the inevitable.

My heart has been needing this story, my mind though had been hesitant in knowing that there would be more hurt before my heart gets its happily ever after.

Mistakes I've Made left me with an ache, but On My Way To You has left me with an irreparable tear in my soul. The middle of Callie and Reed's road is paved with hope, good intentions, and love, but when someone has experienced unimaginable pain and trauma, it creates roadblocks that make something as simple as breathing impossible.

I couldn't put it down; each page took you deeper into this world, and I didn't want it to end. Fear, heartbreak, hope, and, most intensely, love bleed through the pages as these characters endure them.

Friendships are an important part of Reed and Callie's story, and I believe that without their unwavering loyalty, there would be no chance of them finding their happily ever after, and I will say now that I will be counting down the moments until the final book of Callie and Reed's story is released.

On My Way To You is a riveting continuation of Reed and Callie's story. A stunningly unputdownable blend of soul-searing chemistry, hard-hitting emotions that come and go like tidal waves, from the most exquisite hope to shattering heartbreak, leaving you breathless, yet yearning for more time inside this fictional world.

Before I start my review, I feel the need to emphasize you must read book 1--Mistakes I've Made--in order to truly understand and immerse yourself in the continuation of Reed and Callie's story. When Jordan Marie lets her characters off the hook to tell their story THEIR way, you are guaranteed an awesome read. Callie and Reed's story is messy, heartbreaking, hopeless, hopeful and entirely real. Too real in some parts of the story, so much so that if you've ever experienced some of the things that Callie did, you might have uncomfortable feelings or flashbacks. But this story is real. It's not fluff, it isn't instant HEA. It's consequences and repercussions from choices made and life altering situations that some cannot escape. It's gritty, raw and totally sucks you in until you finish the last page. I am so looking forward to the final book because I want that HEA for Callie and Reed. I want to wrap this story up and see there is hope in hopeless situations and that people can not only survive but thrive with love in their life and mistakes aren't necessarily the end of a dream but the gateway to a new beginning. We've had the storm in this story, now let's see the rainbow. Love you, Jordan Marie. Always listen to those voices--they are your strongest books, although I don't think you write a book that is not a great read.

⚡⭐⚡Heartbreaking⚡⭐⚡

Good lord this story kills me 😥how can two people that's destined to be together can be in this much pain? I honestly thought things would work out in book two but finding out what's been going in with Callie is gut wrenching, I'm royally pissed at Callie for the pain she's put Reed through, (I know 🙄I know🤦🏿‍♀️) she's in pain too. Matter of the heart is a tricky thing, it can break in so many ways and there's nothing you can do but wait for it to mend. This couple has been through the ringer, I'm not so sure they can make it, this author did it to me again, she broke me down, she knew what she was doing when she wrote this book, I have the shakes while reading it. I felt like I was the characters in pain, I don't know if I can forgive her for making me cry, but darn it she's good, you don't get this level of writing and not make your readers cry, believe me fellow readers SHE.IS.PHENOMENAL. I can't be the only one that cried reading this book, so y'all better download it cause I'm recommending it. Dang it! Now I gotta wait for the conclusion, not fair woman😒hand it over now!

On My Way To You is book #2 in the Broken Love Trilogy by Jordan Marie. It is the continuation of Callie and Reed story from Mistakes I’ve Made and if you thought book #1 was a doozey then wait till you read this. It is dark and intense. Gritty and scary. Trigger warnings are a must. It is not for the faint of heart because my heart was in pieces by the end of this book.
For all the darkness in the story you cannot helped but be sucked in. I lost sleep because I just had to know how the book was going to end. The characters have so many layers to them, the more that is peeled back the more you want. So much is still left to tell and I am personally salivating for the final book.
This story is not all unicorns and rainbows. It show the dark and dangerous side of love and commitment. That some will go to extreme lengths just to prove a point and in the end was it really worth it. It will be hard to read at times. It may make you cry or scream but it will definitely make you feel. Book #3 cannot get to my fast enough!

I can't recommend this series enough. However if you have triggers you may want to reconsider reading this. Book 1 is twisted and dramatic, but book 2 gets dark and full of despair at times. I don't have any triggers so I dove right in and I could not put it down. Honestly, clear your schedule and don't start it before bed because you'll lose sleep from continuous page turning.

I don't know how to put into words just how good this book is. It ripped my heart apart, gave me hope and then left me hanging in the wind waiting for book 3. Callie and Reed will have you rooting for them from the very start. Mistakes are made along the way and decisions change the paths of their lives, yet they seem connected through it all. Can their connection survive all the trauma and darkness or will it just be too much and ultimately keep them apart. That's why I'm holding my breath waiting for book 3, I need to know how it turns out for them.

5+ stars for this book!

The story of Reed & Callie is a dark and intense read, sometimes difficult to move right on into the next chapter. Due to the manipulation and underhand tactics of others a wedge is driven between them. She finds herself being stripped of the power to make even basic life decisions for herself, believing she is not good enough remaining in an unstable relationship. Taking the time to understand Callie and why she remained in a relationship in which she slowly lost herself, Jordan Marie brings you through a mirage of emotions which are complex. Part of me was like please give these two the happy ever after and let them sail off into the sunset, but that would have been unfair to them. It's a marathon not a sprint for Callie & Reed, they have spoken and to do justice to their story she made the decision to create a trilogy.

This 5 STAR and more read, cannot convey enough how amazing the writing, really need the final book to follow soon.

On My Way To You is the second book in the Broken Love series and the blows just keep coming for Callie and Reed as their turbulent love story continues. This isn't a hearts and flowers romance, it's complicated, heart breaking, brutal and painfully honest. The emotions are so intense they'll leave you breathless.

This author didn't hold back and sugar coat Callies situation, she gave us all the ugly truths and harsh reality of what so many people unfortunately face all to often.

Callie goes through so much in this book, she's utterly broken and a shell of the woman she used to be, my heart broke for everything she endured.

Reed tries to help Callie but things are so complicated between them, they're just hurting each other in the process.

I really have everything crossed for the conclusion of Callie and Reed's story. I'm praying they can find their way back to each other, because the alternative doesn't bare thinking about.

Bring on book 3, It can't come soon enough.

Much better than the 1st

The 1st book was so choppy and rushed and this one had a much better pace. It desperately needs an editor or at least a proof reader. There's a point where Reed tells a friend what Callie said when they were trying to save her, but a couple of chapters later there's a small time jump and Katie breaks the news to Reed what she said. How can you mess that up? That's a big error. I really care about Reed and Callie but they honestly don't seem right for each other. Even as terrible as Mitch is Callie wants to be with him. She wants it to work. She fights harder for Mitch than her or Reed ever do for their own relationship. They've never even slept together and that is part of why I struggle to see their love as being worthy of a HEA. They don't even seem to want it. Maybe Reed, but Callie has thrown him away multiple times. She went through hell this book so I'm interested to see how their story concludes.

Book 2 in series, definitely read book 1 prior to starting this book. The series follows Callie and Reed, from friendship to the trials and tribulations life sometimes brings.

I could not put this book down, even though some dark scenes I wanted to just stop. This series does come with trigger warning. At times it's like you are seeing the disaster about to happening and wishing you could just warn the characters, that's how great of an author Jordan Marie is.

Through the pains life brings both Callie and Reed ( although through external manipulations) they still only want the best for each other, even at the expense of their own happiness. Some scenes will make you cry and cringe, but definitely looking forward to book 3 and hoping for a HEA.

Heart Stopping!!!

On My Way To You should be called grab them tissues and stop throwing your e reader. The emotional roller coaster in this second story is completely heart stopping! Also heart breaking and beautiful if they can go together. The characters in these books Adecco real, so conflicted, so damaged you bleed for them while you are hoping for them to get their crap together. I have always been a voracious reader. The first author that made me throw a kindle mid read...scream out NOOOO aloud and cry was Jordan Marie. She was also the second author to make me cry and out of about 6 books that have actually made me cry she has written 5 of them. Not one other author can grab my emotions and dig into my psyche the way she can and I am just glad she keeps doing it

Callie and Reed have always belonged together but when outside forces interfere it forces their lives into different directions. The experiences that Callie has endured is certain to have deep and far-reaching consequences so even though it may have ended the aftereffects are far from over.

Reed has always loved Callie and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for her without any regard of the personal cost to himself but after everything she has been through only time will tell if love is enough for them to find their way back to each other.

Callie and Reed take us on an emotional and heart wrenching journey that is sure to stay with you long after you finish the last page and leaves you yearning for the conclusion to their story.

WAIT FOR BOOK 3

I absolutely hate cliff hangers and if I pay attention and see the reference, i by-pass the series. Let me tell you this slowly got under my skin but by the end of book 1, Holy Smokes I was a mess. Triggers for women for sure but otherwise I laughed, loved, and sobbed. Yep truly sobbed. Book 2, same emotions compounded and was coming to a point I loss sleep until I hit the cliff and well off hard. Book 3 estimated out in Feb, pre ordered BUT I rarely pick up where left off because I won’t wait and will start other serious and books creating a loss of time and storyline which forces me to Re-read the entire thing to get back what was lost when falling of the cliff. Ugh, ruined. Be smart, don’t start!

On My Way to You is a continuation of a Mistakes I’ve Made. These aren’t my usual type of read I don’t usually read dark and gritty. But I thought I’d try it because I love Jordan‘s books. So I read book one and it captivated me with it’s roller coaster of emotions. But this book makes your heart bleed and you feel every pain and emotion they’re going through. The last one hit the feels too, but this one just dug so much deeper. Reed and Callie have both been through so much. But Callie’s journey is the one that some people never come back from. I can’t wait for book 3. I need these two to have some peace and some happy in their lives together. Definitely recommend but you need to read book 1 first.

I received an advance readers copy and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

The second book in the Broken Love trilogy by Jordan Marie was excellent! This book seriously gave me all the feels, and had me immersed in the story from beginning to end!

Possible triggers: Domestic abuse, rape, and violence.

This one picks up a year later, after Mistakes I've Made, and it doesn't miss a beat. Sometimes, while reading it, I wasn't sure if I wanted to slap Callie, or hug her, but this book brought out so many different emotions in me (anger, sadness, hope), and a lot of times, I actually felt like throwing my e-reader across the room! At the end of it, though, I honestly felt relief and hopeful for what was to come for Callie and Reed. I can't wait for the finale of this amazing trilogy, but in the meantime, the first two are highly recommended!

On My Way To You was a strong addition to the Broken Love story. Jordan Marie did a FANTASTIC job on this book, this story was truly written well, the plot was strong, it was dark and packed with so many emotions. Callie and Reed's journey has been an emotional rollercoaster, nothing about their journey has been easy, they were strong and so wasn't the bond they had, they were drawn to each other. Their journey will take you all over the place, it'll leave you on the edge, so many emotions.
This was a great story, I couldn't put it down, I'm looking forward to reading more.
I'd recommend reading this story, it's a 5 Star MUST READ!
Thank you, Jordan Marie. Wonderful, wonderful work ❤

Oh. My. Goodness.
I don’t even have any words to write about what I just read… that ‘ending’ was absolutely perfect. Now I’m just holding my breath and waiting on the edge of my seat for more of Callie and Reed.

Okay - side note - this story is part 2 of a trilogy. Do not start with this story. You need to read ‘Mistakes I’ve Made’ first. You will be lost and you will miss crucial parts of the story without reading the first story.

I absolutely loved this one - probably more then the first part. I read it in one night.
This one starts with Callie being married. That’s all I’m saying. If you read part one, go into this one blind.

If only I didn’t have to work and could have finished this in one day!! The angst and heartbreak in the beginning followed by pride ending in acceptance.

I really love Reed and feel so bad for him and just wanna scoop him up and keep him safe.

And while I really want to hate Callie I can’t. I want to watch her grow strong. I want her to come back to herself and finally take what she wants…. Maybe it didn’t happen yet but next hopefully!!

I love Jordan and everything she writes. She lets her characters speak through her even if that wasn’t exactly where she thought it was going. Its where it was ment to be!

Ever read an author and you know what she does.., she tears at you page by page until you are so desperate to see what happens next… you can’t put the book down and than you haven’t slept because you are so engrossed in the story you didn’t realize it was almost time to get up and get ready for work? Sorry, I got a little off track… Jordan Marie is that author and she does it to me every single time. I thought I was prepared for Callie and Reed and I thought wrong. She has once again swept us up into a story that is beautiful and sad with twists and turns, oh I can’t wait for book 3. But I have to make sure I have a vacation day just in case I have another all nighter.

This is book two and the continued love story of Callie and Reed. Their journey has not been an easy one and there are situations in this story that no one should have to go through.

Callie is out to the test and goes through some horrible, life altering events that will stay with her forever.

Reed is willing to do anything to help Callie and make her life better. As time has passed and their life experiences…they both have changed and are different people.

Will their love for each other stand the test of time? Looking forward to book three and their HEA!

Jordan’s writing takes you on an emotional rollercoaster and will leave you wanting more.

On My Way To You is Book Two of the Broken Love Series.  It takes us down a very dark and twisty path in the lives of Reed and Callie.

Time has moved on. Reed is working towards his dream of a music career and Callie is simply try to live her life, day by day. But Callie’s life begins to spiral downward and once again Reed feels the need to protect her. No matter what, their friendship knows no bounds and only intensifies over time.

Jordan Marie ventures down a path that is real and relatable.  Be prepared to feel a deep and aching heartbreak.
