A hardworking, single mother lives an ordinary life, until everything changes and her unconditional love, her loyalty and her motherly instinct to protect her son at all cost is threatened.
Emani Storm is yet, at another court hearing for her sixteen year-old son Devin. She is overwhelmed with emotions, as her son faces up to life in prison for a crime she knows he didn’t commit.
But there is something odd, a feeling she just can’t shake, when she sits in the court room—that overwhelming feeling that she knows the obnoxious lady sitting in the courtroom, so adamantly ready to see her son spend the rest of his life in prison.
From her own personal experience, Emani will learn how it truly feels to experience social Injustice in a world full of hate.

I really was not expecting the plot twist. This was a real page turner and I read it one sitting. The writing was phenomenal. I highly suggest this book!
A very engaging, quick novella that's hard-hitting and insightful.
I knew from the first time that I heard about the premise that I would be interested in this story. As expected, Mirror Image delves into the lived experiences of those on the front lines of a dishearteningly common social injustice in the United States- a young black man wrongly accused and his mother grappling with his wrongful conviction.
I don't know if it's the right term to say "I very much enjoyed this book" because I certainly didn't enjoy the sad story it follows, but author Adrienne L. Edwards does a beautiful job of including the reader in the struggle that mother Emani Storms goes through. The final unveiling of the true identity of Lady X is startling and leaves the reader with so much more to contemplate.
If I had to provide a critique, it would be that I wish I gotten to know more about the person Devin is and about the details of the trial. On the other hand, I believe this was a conscious decision on the part of the author, to make Devin representative of "every black man" and his trial representative of every trial of this kind.
I am glad that I've experienced this novella and I recommend everyone else read it too!
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written. The situation the main character finds herself in is a problem that could happen to anyone, and the book makes u feel that way! What if this was me? How would I respond? You will not see the plot twist coming!😀 It’s such a shock you will have to go back and re-read it to make sure you read it right.
This Book is about how all Mother's satisfied any and anything for there Child. That We as Parents are tired Of our SON'S being accused of crimes because of Color Of his SKIN!. THE CHARACTERS remind ME of my FAMILIES, FRIENDS that have went through this.. I love how Emoni N the End realize WHO is Lady X. Turns out to BE. Once again the Author ( ADRIENNE EDWARDS) has a High Five from ME. 🦋
I absolutely enjoyed how the author puts the main character in another person's shoes, so to speak. Sometimes we all need to be appreciative of the many blessings we have and be more empathetic to the struggles other cultures, BIPOC in particular, go through. I would definitely recommend this short story teaser.
My first time reading a book by this author. I really enjoyed the book. I liked how she included events from the present into this book. Because this is done to our Black men on a daily. Looking forward to reading more of your work
